    vinyl wood flooring peeling up

This hotel was very overpriced for the quality and upkeep of the room we got. The front desk was helpful and nice, but the room cost about $300 and it was so poorly maintained! Take a look at the photos to see all the shoddy details, including vinyl wood flooring that is peeling up and holes in the walls and scuffs and broken light fixtures. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors (and be disturbed by them in the night), and there are no views. Ours, in room fifteen, was of a seedy apartment building. If the room was painted and fixed, it would have charm. It is light and large, but nothing is maintained.

Clean, and nice! And easy short walk to the beach, staff was nice. After mixed reviews, I was relieved when I saw how clean the room was!!!

Repulsive experience. We checked out with one night remaining and didn't even bother seeking a refund.

I put a lot of trust in their word since they've previously stayed at this specific hotel a few times and they choice was perfect. Driving from the bay to Southern California was a whole trip in itself with two kids and the last thing we wanted to do was to rush the moment we got in the car and into the hotel. That being said, we decided to stay two nights prior to embarkation day. We wanted to walk in, get settled after the 7 (=/-) hour drive and relax. The hotel had everything we needed - a full kitchen, a clean and perfectly running shower, clean and comfortable beds and a wonderful view. The proximity of the hotel to the port was perfect. All eight of us were able to get our belongings together and not stress on getting parking. The continental breakfast was great as well. The staff was beyond amazing and during one of our nights we were able to watch the UFC fight downstairs in the lobby with a crew of construction workers. One of the staff attendants gave my girls crayons and coloring paper. She sat down and helped them with their art and it was honestly precious.

I wish the hotel had a more comprehensive restaurant or something as it is far from anything good (unless you want chains like PF Changs or Island's). ' The only other note I had was that I wasn't pleased with their parking situation. Its an underground lot but most of the spots in it are reserved for not the hotel and the spots are tiny. Two cars can't drive down the aisles at once because they're tight and it makes for a stressful parking experience, especially at $30 a night.

I didn't necessarily except my food to be refunded by I absolutely wanted my parking fee back. You guys are a huge corporation, do better. I really want to give this place more than 3 stars, and in reality it probably deserves only 2. But I had a few great customer service interactions that won me over, even in a not so accommodating situation. Upon a busy check in right about 5:00 PM on a Saturday in the summer time, we were notified that the AC in the hotel is out. (Side note it had been out since Tuesday and no one notified us until now) We were traveling with our bulldog so this was a huge deal and I immediately asked to be placed at another Hilton property. Art at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. He offered a room with a window that opens as well as a patio, so there would be a constant airflow. He also said if we weren't happy we could come back down for a full refund. Art in general was beyond gracious. We chose to stay, as the sun was going down, and when you're close to water it gets pretty cool even in the hottest months. We had some drinks at the bar and tried to make the best of it. The bartender was also kind and working hard in the heat! All was well considering the circumstances. Until midnight when all of the building alarms started going off every few minutes. We were only staying one night for a relaxing day away with our dog on the beach, and because of this property we definitely did not receive that. I've had to open a case for a refund, which seems crazy to me. As an honors member I definitely thought it would be offered without hesitation, and possibly even more compensation. Unfortunately this was not the situation. For a property with a great location, it needs a deep cleaning and a few updates immediately. With that, I'd consider returning.

The balcony provided a nice space for reading and watching the city life below. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I initially booked a room with 2 queens and they fixed it no problem. The rooftop has a cool view of the city, especially at night. The hotel has ample parking - spaces under the building and directly next to it. One thing to keep in mind - if you are staying in downtown Long Beach, it's a big city with big city sights and sounds. You aren't staying in the country. Great experience for my wife and I.

The neighborhood is a typical downtown area and can be seedy but the hotel itself is secure with the main entrance by key card only at night and the elevators also require your key card to be operational. My room, a single king, was clean and in good shape. There is a large TV, desk area, adequate closet, and mini-fridge with Keurig machine in the room. The iron is of high quality and perfect for pressing my clothes for my meetings. The bathroom is very nice with a Toto Washlet that are common in Japan. The room's thermostat, however, is in Centigrade so do brush up on your metric system! My only real criticism was that the room safe did not open all the way as the closet door blocked its full opening. The top floor has a nice sitting area to relax and there is a quaint workout room and pool area. There is also a sauna which I did not use. Upon checking out, I had a nice conversation with Yogi, the owner, who told me a little about the place and how it was named. Overall, my stay at the Hotel Mai was a wonderful one and I would certainly go back the next time I need to stay in Long Beach!

Feels like you are time traveling back to the early 1900's. I like how they even host themes or events for the observation bar. They do activations for Halloween on the ship and host movies. They are always hosting something fun and exciting for the community. My favorite part is that they are a venue with Insomniac and host cool raves on the ship and also on the side of it in the parking lot. I've been to Daytrip about 5 times in a row and it's been beautiful to rave and see the Queen Mary during sunset. It's very organized and they even created and small amphitheater nearby. I recommend visiting but not sure how I would feel staying at their hotel.
