Okay so it's cute at first but there's a few things that bothered me. The bathroom doors are really hard to close and they have hand soap which is great but it's cinnamon... I'm allergic to cinnamon:(. The shower was a tinkle of water and I couldn't even get all my conditioner out . The bed room was cute but it had motion sensor lights on the bottom of both beds. I stayed here with my family for 3 days. Each day wasn't good, the beds have motion sensor lights that wake EVERYONE up and we asked if theres a way to turn them off and we got I dont know, another problem the water pressure is SO BAD at that rate you should just shower in the sink. We had a family emergency and had to leave a day early so we asked for a refund or something honestly anything and he said i have to talk to my uncle and we haven't heard about it since i really do NOT recommend staying here!!! Tried spending a night here - what I nightmare! I wasn't having one, the room itself was the nightmare. Water dripping from the ceiling all night long, wasn't sure when the roof was going to cave in. Got no rest - finally gave up and left at 5AM. Got a 50% refund after making several calls, promised a 100% refund, they wouldn't respond... would have been better off ANYWHERE ELSE! First impressions: walk in the room and very strong bleach smell. I open all windows, 2 days later bleach aired out and it start to smell like piss. There is no microwave or kettle, just a fridge. The alley side wall had human poo smeared on the wall. Anytime you go outside there are bums and sketchy people. The motion light under the bed is cool but randomly turns on at night waking me up. Parking blows, only 5 spots where you have to carefully navigate. Picked this place to be close to the beach to go running/walking but you have to get past all the bums and drug dealers. So many issues with this place. 1. Pocket door to the toilet room makes an insane noise. We told them and they said they would fix it and never did. 2. Terrible parking situation. They had only a few spots in the lot and after day two of our week there, they had a big shipment of new furniture and those boxes remained the rest of our trip. We had to find parking on the street and the only spot was under a palm tree L, so we had to get our rental washed due to all the parrot poop 3. Terrible WiFi. We could only watch live TV, and even that went out a few times. 4. On our last night a couple above us fought and screamed the ENTIRE night. We called the front desk and the guy went and spoke to them. After another hour of fighting we called again. Same thing happened... nothing. They were still screaming when we left the next morning. I asked for at least one night free due to being kept up all night. They offered $50 and after I dint accept that, $75. I took that because it wasn't going to change. They should have kicked those people out, but I'm sure they just wanted to keep their money and they could care less how other guests were being treated. This was my second time staying in Long Beach. I don't remember where I stayed at previously, but it was not as close to the ocean as the Belmont Shore Inn, and it was definitely pricier. I purchased a couple nights before reading the horror stories. At that point, it was already tooo late. We were pretty nervous upon showing up. It took us a couple loops to find the parking lot because it was soooo tiny. The other reviewers were not kidding when they said the parking lot only fits 5 cars max. Luckily, we got the last spot. Parking was so tight, I'm surprised my car didn't get dinged by other cars. We went to the office, and the guy quickly checked us in. He was really kind! The room was kinda beat up, but everything served its purpose and not one thing was broken. This place was great for the price, and I will definitely be back soon. Check it out! read more

Loved My Stay at Belmont Shore Inn! Such a great little spot! The location is perfect--just one block from the pier and beach, and super quiet at night. The room was super clean, really pretty, and just felt comfy overall. You can tell they take good care of the place. The staff were so nice and helpful, which made everything even better. Plus, it's an easy walk to all the bars, restaurants, and shops on 2nd Street. I didn't need to drive at all once I got there! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a chill, beachy place to stay in Long Beach! read more

We paid almost $225 for one night and it was the worst night I've ever had. 1. The walls are thin so you can hear everything. Good luck with sleeping. 2. The front office and the room had very odd smell and I just dislike it. It's really strong... 3. The restroom has dirty and filthy toilet cleaning tools and you can see them because they right right next to the toilet. 4. The parking is awful. 5. Homeless people are hanging around the corner of the Jack in the box. 6. Just old and dirty. 7. We had to hear a couple having sex in the morning at 2:30 am and 7:30am with our 4 and 2 year old kids. read more

This hotel was very overpriced for the quality and upkeep of the room we got. The front desk was helpful and nice, but the room cost about $300 and it was so poorly maintained! Take a look at the photos to see all the shoddy details, including vinyl wood flooring that is peeling up and holes in the walls and scuffs and broken light fixtures. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors (and be disturbed by them in the night), and there are no views. Ours, in room fifteen, was of a seedy apartment building. If the room was painted and fixed, it would have charm. It is light and large, but nothing is maintained. read more

I usually am not one to leave a poor review but a few things about this stay made me want to just share so people are informed. We found bed bugs in our room. Very disappointed how it was handled. The website falsely advertises what this place is. The pictures paint it to be very beautiful however the actual place is not clean and things don't work properly. You also do not have access to the "usual" amenities such as coffee maker, microwave etc. Additionally, the shower is completely open with glass windows. So if you are with people who you maybe don't want to shower in front of with no privacy this may be a concern. There are only 5 parking spots on site, and if you know the long beach area street parking is very hard to find. The positive part is that it is so close to the beach, and 2nd street full of food restaurants etc. However for the quality it is not worth the price. read more

This seems to be a family owned business which I really love. Nick and his wife were so welcoming and kind to us during our one night stay. We were an hour and a half early for check in and Nick was nice enough to waive the $30 fee. We bought the most upgraded room and it was so so nice. It was so cozy and it smelled & felt very clean! There is no coffee maker, you have to leave the motel to get coffee, so if you need your coffee before heading out, tough luck. 3. Well, this place IS close to the beach but that's about all you can say. Room cleanliness was iffy (I ended up with a piece of glass in my foot) and the noise level was HORRID! I was awakened at 1:20 a.m. to laughter and the party never stopped. My sleep app says I got 2 hours and 11 minutes of sleep. I booked four rooms and was majorly disappointed. I still don't understand the additional $100 per room I was charged. Check in was a nightmare (they STILL were confused) and I should have known something was wrong after repeated phone calls confirming that I booked four rooms. I believe the 10/10 and 8/10 ratings are bogus and most likely left by family and/or friends. I also noticed the review (after I checked out) regarding a hidden camera in the room. Yikes!! Just resist any urge to book here. Less than mediocre at best. I should have trusted my initial instinct upon arrival and just found rooms elsewhere. This place should be shut down. read more

We stayed here over christmas and got eaten alive. Bed Bugs. The bed sheets didn't fit the bed properly and our room was not cleaned everyday while we were there. This is lipstick on a pig. If the only thing you care about is proximity to the beach, then yeah, I guess you could stay here. We stayed here for 6 nights and hooooo boy. The following (seemingly standard) amenities are not made available to you: - A clock/radio on your nightstand - A coffee machine - A microwave - Pack n Plays for small children to sleep in. We ended up having to rent pack and plays because these weren't provided. When I asked the teenager at the front desk why the other 3 amenities weren't available they said "because we'd have to clean them after every guest." What a terrible, terrible excuse for not providing basic amenities for guests. Also, the parking is trash! There are 15 rooms, and FIVE parking spots for guests (not including the one handicap spot). The only other option is street parking, but only on nights where they aren't street sweeping. Otherwise, you're walking a couple of blocks. Never going back. read more

We told the front desk clerk( if you can call him that) because it was through a window in the alley to check in, that we did not feel safe and we did not want to stay and he refused to refund our money. It is dark, dingy and well worn. The bedding and towels are low quality and there are stains throughout. There was a hair on the bed and the more we inspected the place the worse it looked so we stopped. Don't be fooled, this hotel is nothing more than lipstick being put on a pig. The rooms are cute but that's about it. Laying in the bed you sink about 5 inches in, no microwave, no closet. The pillows feel like they put rags in a bag and called it a pillow. It's a motel and nothing more than that. The noise level is crazy due to the floors being wood. So, you hear every footstep, every time someone moves a chair, every time someone coughs, every time someone farts, you hear it. Did I mention the owner requires you to let him know when you have visitors in your room? Seriously? And for some odd reason the bathroom light keeps turning on by itself. I traveled 10 hours from the East Coast and am exhausted. But wait! Can't go to sleep because the horses above me are galloping in ecstasy. And it's only day one. I hate it here! read more

No regular amenities- clock, coffee maker, extra towels, comforts. Terrible water pressure with the shower basically in the middle of the room so hope you are with someone you are ok with showering with. AC does not work well so the room is never cool. Faces an alley with no security and the door doesn't always latch properly. Clearly remodeled rooms to try and make it better but even that had ripped floors, mold on the floorboards, stains on the walls. Just don't look closely. Tried to fill out the survey emailed from the hotel but even that timed out and got an error. They know what's wrong. If you think Olive Garden is a fancy Italian restaurant, this is your place.... The owners were very friendly and the rooms were very clean. The beds were quite comfortable also. However, parking was a huge hassle most of our stay there. And apparently, the floors are very thin. We were very respectful and trying not to be so loud since we knew our neighbors could hear us.... as we could hear them. Our room was on the second floor. The owners advised that the people below us complained that we were noisy. So the next night we tried even harder to not make a sound. We even whispered when we talked. But then we noticed every time we walked to the bathroom, we heard a knocking noise from below. We assumed its people below complaining we are being "noisy". The irony of this is that i read reviews and previous complaints about being on the bottom floor and hearing every slight sound. So i actually requested for a room on the second floor. If you dont need parking, can talk in whisper voice, and weight under 80lbs.... this is the place for you. read more

NOT COVID/CDC COMPLIANT - STAY AWAY. Disgusted. I am local and reserved this place for my family because the rooms look beautiful, and it's a 3 minute walk to my place. See below: 1. Room was not ready upon check-in. 2. Owners son said it would only take 20 minutes which was extremely disturbing because of COVID - NO way they can properly clean and sanitize in 20 minutes. 3. I told the son we will return in a few hours to please take their time and ensure it's sanitized. 4. My kids entered after 11pm and the room was DISGUSTING (Pubic hair and human hair everywhere, empty toilet paper roll - the floors had dirt, debris, clothing threads, pubic hair, head hair, trash, coins and sand all throughout the room. 5. NO PARKING and they had to walk for blocks at almost midnight with all of their bags and a 2 year old baby. I knew there was construction but he promised to not worry about parking - that we would have parking. What he really meant, and what his son said was "if there is parking out front we will call you, and if you are close you can come get the spot if you are fast enough to get here". 6. UNACCEPtABLE RESPONSES from owner: (a) The housekeeper is new. (b) They can leave now and I will give you a refund. (c) It could be hair from the mouth. (d) I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you - I can go mop now. (e) I will give you $20 refund, no more. Instead of doing the right thing, the owner was argumentative. He should have put them in a clean room. However, my guess is that none of them are cleaned properly. I am now concerned for their health in the next week or two because of COVID. If they couldn't take the time to refresh the toilet paper, or sweep, or dust - why should one think for one moment that they sanitized anything at all? Unless you enjoy sleeping in a room with other peoples filth, I don't suggest you stay. Yes, the rooms are pretty but they are not properly sanitized - PANDEMIC OR NOT. Just disgusting. read more

I unfortunately have to leave a 1 star review because of an incident where I found a camera in our room. But let's take a step back and go over my experience from the start. The young man at front desk was extremely nice and courteous, letting us park before check in and calling me when a room was available (we arrived before check in time). The parking lot is very small and not guaranteed (only 5 spots, and 2 of them are very tight/hard to get out of.) The only way to keep your spot is to come early and never leave. The location is great, right next to a Vons, a Pier/beach, & several restaurants (which we didn't go to since they were closed). The room was very sizable, clean, and decent, I was worried because prior to booking the reviews were poor, but honestly I think the other reviewers were just extremely nit-picky. Unless you're an absolute princess about things, this place was pretty nice. All things considered, though a bit pricey for the lack of amenities/quite literally just a room w/. bathroom and beds, late check in time & comparatively early check out time, this motel was on track to getting a 3 or 4 star review. That is until...the camera. THE CAMERA: We had already been inside our room for maybe an hour until I noticed a blue dot that looked like a lens on a USB charger block. The block was plugged into the outlet between the sinks in the bathroom, aimed perfectly for a view of the rest of the room. The other 3 folks staying with me hadn't noticed it yet, but I did. When I reached to unplug it, it was extremely hot to the touch, unlike actual charger blocks. My group dabbled over what to do/tried to determine whether it was an actual camera until the front plate fell off, revealing a lens and a switch that could toggle between "SD" and "live". We went on Amazon and found the exact model, essentially, this camera's toggle switch allowed recording to an SD card or livestream, which would require Wi-fi access. This camera was toggled to "live." Meaning it was very likely connected to hotel Wi-fi (the only public network available). Meaning whoever placed it there likely had been recording a livestream of us for the past hour. They got to watch us from the moment we stepped inside the room. Gee, great. We discussed whether we should inform front desk (we weren't sure if maybe hotel staff placed it there themselves.) We tried to scratch up the lens and destroy the camera first before letting the young man at front desk know. According to the two of us who spoke to him, he apologized profusely and swore up and down that the camera was not the hotel's doing. He had us move to a new room, and called the manager about this. He kept the camera he said to show his manager. He told us he would issue a partial refund (not even half of our bill for the night) and made sure to check the second room with two of us. We also triple checked the second room ourselves for cameras & pinholes (didn't find any). The move was extremely inconvenient as we had a LOT of luggage and bags and the new room was on the second floor. He pretty much stood nervously on the stairs and watched us carry every single bag up the set of stairs. He was otherwise very polite. Now, had things gone a little smoother and we got any refund of any kind, I would have left at least a 2 star review for the response. But given that it's been over 2 months now (we stayed toward the beginning of the year), and there's been no refund of any kind, not even the measly partial refund that was offered, that's gotta bump down to 1. But also, looking back on things now, we never really knew what happened to that camera since he took it. My friends said they permanently disabled it (we tried all sorts of funky things) but I'm still not sure. Plus the fact that it was live-streaming (connected to hotel or private wifi), and a completely black brick plugged into a white outlet against a white wall and somehow housekeeping didn't notice it? And the other rooms don't have this? I dunno, not sure I trust that it wasn't placed by staff. After all, I found it only after using the sink once. So, TLDR; for finding a camera in our room, bad parking, a full priced one night stay, would I say the price we paid to stay here for what we got was worth it? No, absolutely not. (Our bill was around $200.) Stay elsewhere, we only stayed here because we needed a place in the area for one night before moving to another hotel. Not sure how I feel about the creep who forever has a recorded one hour livestream of us. read more

My friend and I went to see Grunion Run last week and we ended up staying at this Belmont Shore Inn because the event took place at midnight. We were just looking for a decent place to spend the night, but surprisingly this place is super nice and reasonable price. We got the upstair room with two beds and inside it looks newly furnished. The manager said they just renovated the place and everything is brand new. We got to the area late afternoon and decided to explore the area a little bit. We walked to the pier which is only a block away and stopped by a restaurant nearby. There were a lot of people biking/running/fishing. Great view and we had a great time. read more
