We arrived after dark to find our friends around the fire pit enjoying some incredible barbeque. I was pretty impressed even with my first walk through of the property in the dark! There are a series of elegantly themed cottages surrounding a main Queen Anne Style home. Whoever decorated this place is a genius. Every corner has a unique detail to discover! There is a rooster house with all kinds of adorable pieces and an Oak house with a tree through the kitchen! The spread out cottages allowed for privacy and serenity. I've never slept better! In the morning, I woke up surrounded by the electric colors of fall. I also noticed that the estate was surrounded by all kinds of colorful fruit trees and vegetation. None of us wanted to leave! Sweet sweet escape. It only took us an hour to get back to San Francisco! I can't wait to go back!

When offered a stay credit for the same house, the same week 1 year later the cost of the house is suddenly $2600 more to stay at then what is listed on their website currently. The Wine Stay may offer beautiful homes to stay in but they are horrible people who are using Covid 19 to turn a profit. Shameful.

We had a very comfortable stay and love that it's walking distance to restaurants, shops and tasting room. Nice little extra perk for the $40 credits to Cousteaux bakery ( which you can access from their back door right across the street) The reservationists are friendly and helpful. Yvonne even helped my husband arranged flowers delivery prior to our arrival for my surprise for our Anniversary. The place has ample space, a cute nook and small kitchen fully equipped with coffee maker, small stove top, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator and freezer. All you would need for a little weekend getaway in this wine country charm. They also have free wine tasting included however you must booked the tasting at least 24 hours in advance. All in all a lovely, quaint and clean place. I would come back for another stay in a heartbeat.

Additionally, while still in conversation about the issue, keys were taken from us. When the manager refused to offer any other option and told us the room was still ours, we were unable to access the room at all at this point, with no answer from the front desk at all. Please, spare yourself the time and turmoil. This place provides no options and takes advantage of its customers. Tom treated us poorly and hung up on us, rather than finding a solution.

They were not only…read moreamazing to work with from the time we inquired about the property, until the time we left, but they treated us like valued customers and not just tenants the entire time we were managed by them. Any maintenance issues that arose, they were super quick to respond to, and did so to our satisfaction (and if I was the homeowner, I'd be happy they were as thorough in their repairs so that the integrity of he house was maintained). Birdsong has beautiful homes and make sure they are in great condition prior to move in. Couldn't recommend them enough.

The property was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately, our experience with the property management team was extremely frustrating. Our stay was July 6-13, and I first followed up about the refundable deposit on July 17, because there was not response to my text form 7/14 about the rodent we saw in the house. I followed up again on July 29, told her about the rodent and asked whether the check had been mailed and when I could expect it. I also called the management team twice in an effort to get an update and resolve the issue since my email and text were unanswered. Despite these repeated emails and phone calls, more than 30 days have passed without receiving the refund. I was told the refund check had been sent and would be tracked, but it never arrived. I continued having to contact the management team for updates. On August 13, I again contacted them because the refund was still outstanding and explained that this had become very frustrating. I was given another assurance that the issue would be resolved. On August 14, I was still having to follow up and request proof that the promised credit to my credit card had actually been processed. I still do not have my $995.00 refund. What should have been a simple and routine refund became a prolonged and frustrating process that required far too much time and effort on my part. The biggest issue wasn't simply the delay -- it was the lack of follow-through and the fact that I repeatedly had to ask for updates and confirmation. It's unfortunate because the Lytton House itself is fantastic. However, the property management experience significantly detracted from what otherwise could have been an excellent experience. I hope Birdsong improves its refund process and communication with guests. i hope I get my REFUND!!!! Guests should not have to send multiple emails, make multiple phone calls, and continue chasing the management company for a refund that has already been promised.

Pezzi King has a guest house on the estate overlooking the working winery. The house has 4 king bedrooms, each with its own bath. (One of the bathrooms is across the hall from its room.) And each bedroom has a door opening to the outside with tables and chairs nearby. This worked out great as it allowed 4 couples to go on the vacation. We were together but each had our own space if we wanted it. There was satellite TV hooked up in each bedroom, but no TV in the main common area. Come winter, the fireplace would be nice. The weather was beautiful so we spent most of our time on the deck looking over the vineyards and winery. Two nights we grilled out on the deck's BBQ. There is a full gourmet kitchen if you would rather cook inside; almost overkill for breakfast. There is a hot tub which was used a couple of evenings after dinner. The drive up the mountain to the house after dark can be a little nerve rattling due to some of the hairpin curves. Biggest issue was that the house wi-fi was spotty at best. Most days we couldn't even connect. All in all, we had a good time and made lots of great memories.

I would not, however, under any circumstances, rent from Wine Country Getaways again. We had a big group, including several small children, and one family coming up all the way from Southern California, so we asked if it would be possible either to check in a little early or to leave a little late. The answer: absolutely not. OK, fine, no problem. As soon as we arrived at the house, though, my wife and I noted the list of rules. it read like military marching orders that had been poorly translated from the original German. We were, for example, expected not only to do all the usual things like strip the beds and straighten up, but also completely clean the kitchen, including a wide variety of chores such as unloading the dishwasher. This is the kind of thing that one expects at a scientific research station, not a pricey wine country vacation home where you are paying for cleaning services on top of your rent. But still, no big deal. Then came the kicker. I accidentally left my camera behind, with some magical pictures on it of my 3-year-old son and I floating down the river. I called Debora to explain to her exactly where I left it (by the phone in the kitchen) and ask whether she would be willing to send it to me. She claimed not to have found it, which is possible, I suppose, though a bit odd considering that I knew exactly where it was. Then, without warning, she launched into me about the state of the house when we left. I've stayed in many California vacation rentals over the years, and never, ever had a problem with the management. (My family and I, for example, return to the same house every year in Palm Springs.) We left the Blue Heron house in a perfectly respectable condition, ready to be cleaned and prepped for the next folks. But enough is not enough for Debra, who verbally assaulted me over the phone to the point at which I could not reason with her and actually had to hang up. The only way to describe it is that the interaction left me feeling slimed. Perhaps this is just her nature. Perhaps she's had bad experiences in the past. Or perhaps this company makes its money but selling used cameras and overcharging for cleaning bills. I don't know. What I do know is that Debra should not be in this business dealing with customers. If I were you, I would steer far clear of this nasty person and find another delightful home, run by another property management firm, just a few doors down.

You get lost from reality for a big not wanting to ever leave. It's a great place for all ages. Not to mention the drive there is the most beautiful drive you will ever take. Extremely close to downtown where all the people are friendly and eager to talk to you. It's located perfectly, plenty of things close by to do. Take a 15 minute drive and head over to Jensen CA, if you're into the beauty of the ocean this is a site to see where the Russian River meets the ocean I have never seen anything so breath taking!....Would I go back? Most definitely, going back next year and as many years that we can! If you're looking for a nice spot away from the busy city life this is the place to go!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!…read more We rented a house (the Olivet Vineyard home) for 4 nights. The house itself was shabby and run down. The gourmet kitchen, as they described it, was gourmet maybe in the 1980s and was lacking in quality pans, utensils and equipment. But the real problem and the reason for this review was that the house was infested with mice and the response to this issue by SCVR has been appalling. We didn't realize there were mice until the first morning when we saw that the mice had run all over the counters and chewed on fruit and bread left on the counter. When we looked, we found droppings in drawers, cabinets, on dishes, 'gourmet utensils' and pretty much every surface in the kitchen. And then when we looked up the light panels were LOADED with droppings. Obviously the mice had moved in a while ago and there was no rodent control program in place for the property. We ended up completing our stay only because there were many of us and we didn't have anywhere else to go at that point. We set traps, and kept all non-perishable food in the oven to keep it safe. After our stay we contacted SCVR to discuss the problem and requested a cleaning fee refund based on the fact that the property had clearly not been cleaned in the kitchen ahead of our arrival; that we had to clean the kitchen surfaces and any dishes and utensils before each use and because nothing could be stored in the cupboards. Each time we called the manager was "unavailable" and she failed to return upwards of 8 of our calls. After 3 weeks, the manager had the office clerk call to tell us to submit our request in writing and she would present it to the company board for consideration. After 3 more weeks of once again hearing nothing from SCVR we placed another phone call followed up by an email. As part of the rental agreement with SCVR, we had been given permission to have additional dinner guests over and above the normal maximum allowable number. This was agreed at no additional cost to us. The final response from SCVR was a very short email stating that because we "were allowed to have extra people at the property without an additional fee the money is more than even" and therefore the cleaning fee would not be refunded. We then contacted the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce to see if they could help. Long story, short, the SCVR manager told the HCoC that "the house was in the country and that mice should be expected". The HCoC Executive Director was as stunned as we were using the phrase that their "attitude was laissez-faire and not the usual attitude of Healdsburg businesses". Do not rent from this company - their customer service is unbelievably bad. They also do not provide the ability for guests to review their properties, a fact that is hardly surprising given our experience.

We tried VRBO but I can't talk to people all day just to find a weekend rental.....Finally we found this agency thru a friend - I called - they found me a house and splitting the cost among us made the house rental a better deal. The staff were quick and super helpful. The house was beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves and the price was right. We found out they have a lot of houses for rent and plan to go back and try other houses.
