This one is a bit of a mixed review, I typically stay at Hilton properties while traveling and…read morealways enjoy Hampton Inn and Suites. I ultimately gave them a 3, but leaning towards a 4, just been in more updated properties, that is why are ended up at a 3. This particular Hampton is a Hampton Inn, not Inn and suites. Did not realize that, but not a big deal. The rooms were still pretty spacious and comfortable. The staff here was very good, smiling, helpful, offered me some snacks for being a Gold member, thank you. The hotel itself was comfortable, but it is on the older side, but still has an outdoor pool, breakfast area and a small gym. So really all the things you need for a comfortable stay. I did not try out the pool, but the breakfast was good and the gym worked, but lacked a bench, which makes a big difference when trying to get a good workout in. The rooms have a slightly larger mini fridge, which is nice to store leftovers and a small freezer section, A coffee maker and a microwave, very convenient. Bed was comfortable as well. There was actually a group of soccer player staying at the hotel that were pretty loud, but once in the rooms, could not really hear them that much, so the walls had decent insulation. As far as the review, here is the good and what could be improved and the weighted average lead me to a 3. Hotel common area's 3 Room 3 Free Breakfast 4 Free parking 5 Gym 2.5 Pool 4 I think this hotel could easily be a 4, maybe even a 5 with an update to the decor and rooms and if they could reconfigure the gym to add a bench and maybe a bigger footprint, but even just adding a bench would bump it up to a 4 for me. They did have dumbbell's up to 70 or 75 lbs, which is a plus. If you are looking for a comfortable stay, reasonable rates, free parking and breakfast and a good overall value, this is a good choice. No frills, just a clean place to stay. I would recommend. I would imagine they will update soon as all around them is up and coming and building a lot of new modern structures, I would hope they would to keep up with the area. Enjoy!

There is only one elevator in the middle of guest rooms without sign. I walked right by it not seeing it the first time. There are 4 kinds of coffee and a snacks rack even late into the afternoon which is a definite plus for me. On the house breakfast is served daily 6-10am in the dining area. It's the no-frills type of place perfect for my needs.

You also have an In-N-Out Burger nearby along with the 7-Eleven a chipotle and Panera so this location is ideal if you're looking to save money and be in a convenient location, where you have plenty of options on Dining and shopping. Our room was on the second floor with a private balcony that overlooked the parking lot so we enjoyed that because we were able to have easy unobstructed view of our vehicle. We had our service animals with us and the hotel employees were very accommodating to that fact. We want to send a big shout out to Raj (the manager) for doing such a great job. The breakfast that's included definitely serves its purpose and the gym and computer center are also very helpful. Should you need them. We do recommend this location, especially if you're looking to save money but yet still be surrounded by convenient options and if you wanna make your way over to La Jolla Shores Beach it's only 20 minutes away and well worth it. Enjoy your stay at comfort Inn, Escondido, San Diego and tell them the Garrett's say hello

Gaby checked us out and she was super friendly. Our room was beautiful. The bathroom is lovely with a gorgeous huge walk in shower. Only complaint is it was hard to do my makeup because the lighting is very dim, so being a lighted makeup mirror...loved the closet and refrigerator and nice tv. The mattress was super comfortable and comfy pillows too. Breakfast was yummy and loved the coffee and waffle bar. (Don't forget to flip it so the timer goes on, should have a direction for that!) the breakfast area was nice and also an outdoor patio with heater is great. Wanted to take a jacuzzi but it was full with people and it's not very big. The pool is big. The whole experience was great and I highly recommend staying here and hope to be back in future.

The room itself was what you would expect from a typical Marriott property. Clean, comfortable, and nothing out of the ordinary. The most disappointing part for me was the breakfast. As someone who eats plant based, my options were extremely limited. I ended up having oatmeal and bananas both mornings while watching most guests enjoy bacon and eggs. I was honestly expecting a bit more variety, especially fresh fruit, which feels like a basic for a standard Western hotel breakfast. On a positive note, the guy sitting on the bench outside was the best part. Overall, it was an okay stay, but I do wish there were more inclusive breakfast options, especially at that price point.

The room was DISGUSTING!…read more There was a horrible odor when I walked in - the room was pretty dark even though the lights were on. I lifted up the shade to see a grossly stained carpet. The bed looked unsanitary. The orange ottoman looked like a dog peed on the bottom of it. The bathroom floor was dirty. The mini fridge is sitting on the dirty floor. The AC was on 68 and the room was hot & musty. $276!!!! Insane! I left & got a really nice clean room at another hotel near by for less, with nice amenities.

After doing a quick "around me" search, Holiday Inn Express & Suites San Diego-Escondido popped up. Doing a cross-check between Yelp and Google, I saw that they had pretty good reviews. Being that they only had two rooms available for the desired price, I did not hesitate to book the reservation. Although the establishment had good reviews pertaining to the cleanliness and amenities of the hotel, poor customer service was a reoccurring theme in the reviews that I read. Therefore, I was shocked when I entered the establishment and was warmly greeted by a front desk employee by the name of Mark. Mark informed me about the hotel's amenities (including the free breakfast) and quickly checked me in. He also saw that I had dinner from the nearby California Fish Grill (the hotel is in close proximity to many restaurants and fast food establishments) and offered my utensils...talk about being attentive! My third floor room was very clean and appropriately furnished (to my delight the room had both a refrigerator and microwave). Although the room faced the busy freeway, the insulation was so good that I could barely hear anything. I liked the little touches such as the mirror with built-in vanity lighting around the perimeter. My only gripe was that the television was a traditional model with a few cable channels; in 2025 I would expect all hotel rooms to be equipped with a SMART TV that has built-in streaming platforms (e.g., Netflix, HBO Max). The following day, I grabbed a coffee from the cafeteria and quickly checked out. I enjoyed my stay here and will return if I'm in the area again!
