Bathroom sink strangely right by entrance door

The room was extremely small and was not at all like the photos advertised. The bathroom sink and mirror were for some very odd reason right behind the entrance door to the room. When I went to the office to ask to change rooms, he refused to do so because the housekeeping had already left for the day and he said that the room they gave would have to be cleaned before they could give me a different room even though we literally just set our bags down and that was it. He then stated that they no longer had rooms like the ones advertised on the website, but then proceeded to say that I should have said the 3rd floor when asked if I wanted 2nd or 3rd, as though I were supposed to magically know what kind of rooms they have on which floors. He was extremely rude and very unhelpful and I would never stay at nor recommend this hotel.

    Cockroach

I'm not sure how this hotel has 4 stars. Upon arrival there was a dirty chair in our room - whatever, we can just not use it. Upon further looking around there are stains on the walls - again, whatever it's not touching me. The shower caulking is molding completely, which is foul to think about standing in that if they clearly don't clean it well, I figured "so be it" and I could stand on a washcloth. Then this morning after our first night, I go to get ready and wake up to a cockroach crawling all over my bathroom items! It crawled across the sink, up behind the mirror. There is clearly a serious lack of attention to detail here and I feel dirty after staying here.

Box spring with a one inch mattress topper

Our bed did not have a mattress. It was just a box spring and a flimsy mattress topper. When asked if we could have a different room we were denied. Wouldn't recommend unless you like sleeping without a mattress !!!!! Update: The next day the door to the bathroom broke and I was trapped in there for a long time until my friend could PICK THE LOCK to get me out. The shower curtain rod also fell on top of me while I was in the shower. You can literally see on the wall all the smudge marks from all the times the rod had to be tightened and adjusted and moved around - very obvious it's finicky and this has happened before. When we went down to the front desk to ask what there was to do about the issues, they were very rude, super unaccommodating, and didn't even offer up a single apology. They truly did not care that we had a HORRIBLE stay. PLEASE do not stay here. Truly the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed at.

I arrived at the hotel around 10 pm on a Friday. The hotel is tucked behind a strip mall and can be missed driving by. The location was not bad: close to freeways and quiet. The staff was friendly, and it was a pleasant stay. The rooms are small, the floors are dirty, and certain parts of the floor are not even. They don't have extra blankets or even an iron or a hairdryer in the room--plenty of parking spaces. If you took a hot shower, the steam would turn into a mini sauna. The room has a mini fridge, microwave, and a good-sized TV. I'm unsure how clean the table, the chair, or the sofa is now. If on the lower floor, you can hear the floor above you when they walk, even toss and turn.

So glad I checked the bedding. Made us both sick to see this.

The service wasn't necessarily bad, but nothing about it was particularly memorable or welcoming. At other locations, we've typically been offered complimentary bottles of water, but here we had to ask for them. When we did, the gentleman at the front desk asked for our room number, which seemed a little odd for something as simple as water. That ended up being just the tip of the iceberg. As soon as we got settled into our room, we noticed a foul, mildew-like odor in the living room area. The breakfast area also wasn't being kept very clean. There were crumbs and food debris throughout the area, and it was pretty apparent that no one was consistently keeping up with the tables and general cleanliness while guests were eating. I was also surprised by the $200 deposit, as that's not something we've encountered during our stays at several other Hilton properties. What made the experience even stranger was the amount of emphasis on tipping despite how disorderly things felt. There were QR code table tents encouraging tips, additional tipping information in the room, and even a physical tip jar prominently displayed in the breakfast area. I have no issue tipping for good service, but having so many reminders asking guests to tip while the dining area itself wasn't being properly maintained felt a little tone deaf. One other thing that really stood out: breakfast closes at 10:30, but if guests are already inside and still eating, why close the doors around them? It came across as tacky and made the experience feel unnecessarily unwelcoming. Closing breakfast service at the designated time is completely understandable, but guests who are already seated should be allowed to finish without feeling like the place is being shut down around them. Overall, the entire stay just felt weird and unorganized. Having stayed at several Hilton properties before, we expected a more polished and hospitable experience from Embassy Suites. Unfortunately, this location fell noticeably short of that.

The garbage disposal in my room did not work, which caused the sink to back up and fill with water. There was also no office chair at the desk when I arrived, and I had to wait two days before one was provided. Parking is a major issue. The lot is very small and shared with McDonald's, making parking difficult. The noise was probably my biggest complaint. The walls are extremely thin, and I could hear everything outside and around the hotel. I heard McDonald's deliveries, cars with loud music and exhaust, and construction from the neighboring gas station. If you are a light sleeper or need a quiet place to work, this is definitely something to consider. The pool is also extremely small. If one family is using it, there really isn't much room for anyone else. What concerned me most was the elevator. During my September 2026 stay, the posted elevator inspection showed an expiration date of March 2025. One of the elevators was also out of service. Seeing an inspection date that appeared to be about 18 months expired was concerning. The food options were disappointing as well and seemed to consist mainly of packaged microwave-style food. There were some positives--the room was clean and comfortable--but between the constant noise, very limited parking, maintenance issues, elevator concerns, and disappointing amenities, I would not stay here again.

The list can go on and on. Checked in with Victor at the front desk and he was somewhat pleasant, I wanted to use my Triple A card and he wouldn't budge at all. I don't know if he is aware of the benefits of Triple A or not, but didn't accept my card. Moving forward with the rest. I was staying here on the 28th of May and checked out on the 31st of May. Needed to get away from my crazy ass neighbors and it was also work related. Victor was helpful in some areas. I told him that I need a room that is quiet, and he suggested 9th floor room #913. Walked into the room and everything was just super comfortable. My window was facing the beautiful mountains. Had way too many restaurants within walking distance. Amenities are: big TV that actually had my name on it, welcoming me into the hotel, mini fridge, I asked for a microwave(upon request), and by the time I came back from dinner, the microwave was already there. King size bed, standard size couch with a small round table and a leg rest. Big closet along with lots of drawers, and iron/ironing board, a laundry facility on the 2nd floor, the Bistro restaurant that kind of had weird hours. I'll get to that in a minute. Had a coffee machine with all the belongings that comes with it, gym(open 24/7),restrooms all around. Inside the lobby, around the pool and jacuzzi area, had a mini market with a lot of late night snacks from Ramen, Chips, Cookies, Frozen Food, Beverages and also a microwave for their guests. It had a Banquet hall and also a couple of meeting rooms. The entire hotel along with the lobbies, were super clean. Had a blow dryer, clean, crisp towels in the bathroom and the cutest shower curtain that I have ever seen inside a hotel's restroom. It looked like a bridal dress from the 50's 60's era. That cute. Presure of the water was not that good. Understandable, they are conserving water. Restaurant was fairly a large size with great people working there with FANTASTIC HOSPITALITY. They also had a small menu to choose from. Had breakfast and dinner.Ate there twice. Great, affordable prices. Also for Starbucks lovers, they have coffee. They don't have room service which was ok with me, you place your order on your app, or on the phone, go downstairs and pick it up. Special thanks to Meg, one of the most cheerful, upbeat, full of love and energy who works in the restaurant. Rosie was nice too. Bed, pillows, sheets were very comfortable.A/C was working perfectly. They also had a desk and a chair. Tried both their unique pools, and the jacuzzi. Both very clean and everything was SUBLIME!!! A fascinating piece of history (listed on the National Register of Historic Places). The 44-room hotel opened in 1925 (before the creation of Route 66). It was designed by architect Robert Stacy-Judd in the Mayan revival style (but named the Aztec because it was thought this would be more familiar to the public). The hotel was not particularly successful and went through various phases, including rumors of being a speakeasy and a brothel. It was a bit of a notorious spot for a while, with shady characters occupying its rooms. I was told that 11 people have died here which may not be a particularly high number for such an old hotel. Nonetheless, there are claims of hauntings and tales of paranormal activity. Either way, it's a super fascinating and aesthetically marvelous place!

The restaurant is down near the pool, and the setting is exactly what you would expect from the Langham: polished, and upscale. The hotel itself is beautiful, and walking through the property always feels special. Unfortunately, the meal did not live up to the surroundings. The menu had regular entrée options starting around $30, along with a $72 buffet. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant appeared well staffed, but things went downhill from there. We ordered coffee, mimosas, and the hummus trio. After a long wait, none of it had arrived. We finally flagged down our waiter, who seemed unaware that we had ordered anything. Apparently, the first waiter had taken our order before going on break and never passed it along to the next server. When the drinks finally arrived, the coffee was lukewarm. We sent it back, and the replacement was only slightly hotter. Not a great start and certainly not what you expect from the Langham. The hummus trio was also disappointing. It came with a thick fried flatbread that was hard, dry, and unpleasant to eat. It had a rough texture that reminded me more of cardboard than pita. My wife ordered the buffet, which had a carving station with smoked brisket and roughly 10 to 15 hot dishes. Most of the hot dishes were dairy-heavy, so she could not try many of them. She did have the soup, brisket, and fruit, but none were good. The soup did not look appetizing, the fruit was underripe and not sweet, and the brisket was probably the driest brisket I have ever seen. It was also underseasoned. I was already skeptical about brisket sitting under a heat lamp. BBQ restaurants store their briskets wrapped in butcher paper and sitting in warming ovens around 150 so they don't dry out. The executive allowed his staff to store the brisket on the carveing board under a heat lamp and what we got was extremely dry bland uneditable brisket. I ordered the branzino, which was probably the best thing we had. The fish was moist, and there were a few crisp bits on the outside. It was fine, but for the price and location, it was not particularly memorable. Dessert was another miss. The rest of the table ordered sorbet, while I ordered the mango sticky rice. What arrived looked like half of a coconut with a chocolate shell and a white filling. I assume the filling was meant to be sticky rice and coconut milk, but it tasted more like an Almond Joy than mango sticky rice. This version was not good and should not be called mango sticky rice. Great location, poor execution and quality. I am sorry but I expected so much more from the beloved Langham.
