I have stayed in this lovely Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Monrovia 5 times in the past and always had a great experience with everyone and everything. You can go there for business and/or pleasure. I didn't have a reservation and walked in w/out one. Christopher at the front desk said that they had few rooms available and he can check me in right away. Had to run to the restroom in their lovely lobby very fast before taking care of business. Let's not forget that they welcome you with 2 warm, fresh Chocolate Chip cookies. I had to meet up with a client to discuss her wedding plans so that was the main reason that I was there this past weekend. February 28th, & March 1st. Checked out on the 2nd of March. Walked in to my room on the 7th floor #708 & later was moved to #718. I was planning to give this hotel 4 stars based on what happened in the 1st room, but since everything else went flawlessly from the restaurant, to the pool, jacuzzi, shower, etc... I will give them 5 solid stars for the employees going above & beyond for your comfort. They genuinely cared for your stay and the hospitality was just FANTASTIC in every way, on every level!!! Everybody was very helpful, nice, and caring. Both rooms that I stayed in were SUPER CLEAN, comfortable bed, sheets, towels, were crisp, and clean too. Pillows were also comfortable. Not too soft & not too firm. I had a minor or I should say a big hiccup the 1st room that I had stayed. Around 3:15am I hear this ugly, loud noise/sound coming from the bathroom. I couldn't figure out what the problem was and was keeping me awake. Plumbing problem with the toilet. Called the front desk and Simon who was working the graveyard shift refused to come up to check it out. Instead he sent the security guard by the name of William. That was not William's job. He somehow came to figure out what seemed to be the problem and long story short he helped me move my stuff to the next room down the hall. Both rooms had the following amenities:gym, meeting rooms, pool, with 4 cabanas, small store that had snacks, bottled drinks, cookies and other handy stuff. Restaurant, bar, small fridge, microwave, a safe, big closet with lots of drawers, blow dryer, shower, TV, phone, an iron, etc.. At the time of the checkout, I brought the problem that I had with the toilet and Laura, one of their managers went down on the price which was a very nice gesture coming from her. Also, I used my AAA discount towards my room. AAA always comes very handy! Ate at the restaurant twice during my stay and that's all I can say about this lovely, beautiful, comfortable hotel. Special thanks to Jaydon, the server that I had in the restaurant, gave me an exceptional service! William, the security guard, and the rest of the staff who helped me! Will definitely return next time I need some ME time or if it's work related. There are a lot of nice close by eateries all around. Has a HUGE parking lot, multiple restrooms in the lobby. So check in went fine decor was beautiful went to room 519 clean and modern. Great customer service gave us an extra blanket and chocolate chip cookies. Parking was an issue do to some party but we parked off to the side where the restaurant closed down. Here goes problems 10 pm turned air on by midnight air conditioner was making loud noises could not fix and then it end up blowing no cool air. Was not going to move rooms in the middle of the night. By 6am room is room and then in the bathroom I hear pipe noises not sure what was happening. This hotel is near the freeway and many food and malls close however the air conditioner was huge for me since the hotel was very warm. 200.00 a night you expect better. Convenient location near the 210 fwy and downtown Arcadia. Nothing fancy but served our needs. Mary checked us in, and was very pleasant and helpful. She also gave us warm chocolate chip cookies that were delicious! We had a minor snafu with our room and she immediately changed our room and comped us breakfast, which we really appreciated. The beds were firm but comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for us, but not a big deal. The TV placement in the XL rooms is odd so I'd recommend just booking a standard room. The mini frig and microwave were nice to have. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the made to order waffles and omelettes, juices and coffee. We stayed here this past Friday for my ladies birthday and location was awesome and front desk very friendly and gave us two cookies while we checking in. The room was nice clean and most importantly my lady love the room very nice. Definitely have everything from blow dryer, all you to bath or shower. Free parking and across the parking area the is a Starbucks life is good. Overall the room was great only issue we wanted late checkout till 12pm, stated they can't we had to checkout 11am instead only issue we never had this issue before with other hotels. 4.5 stars, rounded up. I am currently staying in town for a couple nights and I am super happy with this hotel. Little details in the room such as a desk, USB and wall outlets, as well as an alarm clock, makeup mirror, iron and board, blow dryer, microwave and fridge- all added to the basic comforts I could ever hope for in a room. The highlights were the soft, fluffy towels, soft sheets, and amazing pillows. It took a while for the air conditioner to stop knocking and cruise to a steady low rumble... I was frustrated with it for hours but it finally mellowed out. Warm cookies, a restaurant whose dining last-call is late (10pm), and the free shuttle service were added perks for me. The maid left the room in nicer shape than the day before (the coffee bar was better stocked!). Lastly, there's free-weights and benches in the gym! Score! I would definitely stay here again! The employees of this hotel are wonderful, the amenities are nice, but the cheapskate owner of this hotel Bin Zhang of Meili Investments, who owns a mega mansion in the Bradbury Estates, won't heat the pool, while ten families sat around the pool wishing they could get in, but they can't because you are uncaring. Prince Bin Zhang, your customers and your employees, who are forced to lie for you, are not your peasants. Shame on you. Come down from your castle and see the disappointed children. This hotel is conveniently located down the street from the highway and tons of dining options and shopping. In the same lot is a Starbucks, Canes and a Chic Fil A and across the street is Canes and tons of others. The hotel is super clean and very updated with beautiful furniture and decor. The room is phenomenal and the biggest room we've stayed in. It was spacious, huge flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, free coffee and amazing jet tub, which I wasn't expecting and my favorite part of the stay. The downfall is that it is really hard to get into and hard to get out so I don't recommend for people with limited mobility as t can be dangerous. The staff were all great! They were all smiling and all very friendly and gave us a ton of their warm cookies. We arrived at 11 am and although we chose to do so early check in due to a 100 charge, they allowed us to use the pool and that's where we hung out until check in at 4pm. The pool is a nice with complimentary cabanas and a jacuzzi and all was clean and well maintained. They have a bar on site and ice in every floor. We've always had good experiences with Hilton but this one exceeded our expectations. read more

I've stayed at this hotel once and attended a good amount of events in there banquet hall. The hotel was great, really spacious and a very comfortable bed. Everyone was extremely nice. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 bc of the food from the event hall. I've tried alot of diff items while attending diff events and the food is always bland. The rooms were not comfortable, dark rugs and dark furniture makes it hard to see if it's clean. The room didn't seem clean and muggy. I complained to the Doubletree Monrovia that my room had bed bugs, so they gave me a letter to give to Hilton Pasadena because they didn't have any additional rooms to move me to. I was sent to Hilton Pasadena but still had to return to the doubletree for the rest of my stay!?? Seriously Hilton service is going downhill. I had to write an email reply explaining how my anniversary was ruined because not only that I found bedbugs but when they sent me over to the Hilton pasadena it was for one day and then I had to return back to the doubletree??? I was at first given an option to stay in king bed but I had my son with me where was he going to sleep??? I should have gotten a full refund!! Never again. We went for the King bed with larger room. The room set up was kinda weird, despite it being larger, the couch was placed in a sort of little nook area where another window, AC, and couch was. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. We ended up moving the couch closer to the bed. The table was L shaped along the two walls. I think we shouldve just stuck to the regular king bed room because having the extra section was kind of useless since we didn't have too much luggage. Hard to eat your own takeout here too because it's just 1 chair and there's no coffee table for your couch. We moved the couch to the table they had the usual amenities like iron, hairdryer, microwave, fridge. I liked how the fridge was decently sized, didn't feel cold when you open it but your drinks will get really cold if you leave it long enough. At check in they asked if we want housekeeping services, we said no, but they still came the next day. We thought they wouldn't come since we specified and didn't bother putting the "do not disturb" on the door. It has the usual amenities and likes that they have the adjustable magnified mirror with light. Lotion was nearly empty though. There was also only 2 of each towels, I'm used to having at least 2 additional extra bath towels. But we only stayed 2 nights so we didn't need more. The complimentary chocolate chip cookie - it was alright, would be better if it didn't have so many nuts. We microwaved it in the room and tasted even better. Location - this hotel was located situated in between Monrovia and Arcadia. When you're getting off the freeway, you just go straight into the hotel after the light! Down the street is The Shops at Santa Anita. It's the perfect place to spend your time if you don't have anything planned for the day or just looking to waste some time. This mall is HUGE. There are other bigger malls around LA, but this has an indoor and outdoor section. It also has some anime / Japanese stores if you're into that! We always stop by little Tokyo and they have some similar stores here. They also have Shibuya. Starbucks is in the same lot, chick fil a nearby too, raising canes down the street. Overall impression: not bad, we didn't try other amenities like pool and gym, but room-wise, it's a bit outdated but still really spacious and clean. Staff were warm and welcoming at check in. That was super generous of 'DoubleTree' by Hilton Hotel, Monrovia, CA., to host this year's 'OHana Halloween,' event as shown per event ad below. I decided to check this event out was because it was going to be held inside a local hotel and on the way to work. I arrived at the event about an hour after it had already started. Since parking wasn't limited at all, I can pretty much park at any parking within the plaza and walk over. I must have walked around this event at least a few rounds checking out all of the vendors before calling it a day. Most items sold at these vendors seemed to be some how pricey except for a Sticker booth which I supported. This vendor gave each buyer a nice souvenir bag for any sticker amount purchase, so I got myself a couple of Super Mario stickers to go. Most vendors sold items such as: Halloween cups, Disney themed cups mostly from Lilo & Stitch on top of more Halloween design items. This was a quick way to spend my early Sunday early afternoon before work. So glad I attended this event in DoubleTree, Monrovia, CA today on Sunday, Oct/15/22. read more

Decided to book a room the week of my husband's bone marrow transplant at City of Hope hospital to lessen the stress of commuting from home. The rooms are spacious and clean. Had an issue with the refrigerator, which they replaced immediately. Pool area is clean and relaxing. Great location near many restaurants. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. Extended my stay to keep an eye on the husband while he recovers! It would be nice to stay longer during the recovery period, but when you have a family of 6 it's not feasible for a long term stay. The pool was heated and hot tub was nice, too windy to go in but put our feet in. Website offered a deal for early check in which I purchased but then there was a pop up saying, well maybe you can have early check in, call us the day before to see availability. So I call night before and they still can't give me a definite answer about early check in. Day of, we show up early and they say it's $50 for early check in (website offered it for $25). I have NEVER had such a horrible experience from a hotel before. DO NOT COME HERE. This is a review that should definitely be ignored. And definitely pay attention to the other one star reviews for this hotel. Yes I agree with the other positive reviews where the rooms look clean and nice. HOWEVER. There's no point in staying in a room if you can't even sleep in it. My boyfriend and I stayed here and we didn't sleep until 4 AM because the neighboring room would not stop screaming off the top of their lungs and playing excessively loud music. The front desk and security were incompetent and incapable of handling a single noise complaint. The first call to front desk was at 1:15 am. We had to confront the noisy room ourselves, three separate times and literally had to beg them to stop yelling. It took nearly THREE HOURS from 1:15 am to 3:45 am to resolve one noise complaint. The overnight front desk said they couldn't do anything/couldn't kick them out because they booked a lot of rooms. Money is always priority and it showed. Don't come here if you want to relax. Don't come here because the customer service is horrible. They don't address issues, and if they do it's at your expense. Sure, rooms look clean and nice but it's not worth it. We had a little getaway Valentine's Day weekend and decided to stay here. The parking lot is huge and it's free so no worries there. It's well-lit and there are a couple of security guards so we always felt safe at the hotel. Checking in was a breeze and they gave us a couple of complimentary cookies (why not?). We stayed in room 904 (a king-sized bed). Very spacious room and very quiet; didn't hear a peep our entire stay. We used hand wipes to make sure the room was clean. Thankfully it passed with flying colors. The bathroom gets a little messy with the shower but its very handicap friendly. Bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. We'd stay here again if looking for something in the area. Room rate was decent, parking is free, and most importantly the room was clean. read more

Zero star to hotel front desk and billing department! Hotel charged me for something that I never bought. Hotel never reversed the false charge. Confirmation number is 96055778. I got charged $4 extra for a drink that I never bought. On the day of check out 7/26/24, I questioned the front desk lady on a charge of $4 for an item that I didn't recognized on the bill. She said, "$4 charge was for a powerade drink that you purchased on 7/25/24 3pm." I said, " That's not possible, I wasn't even here in the hotel at 3pm. I checked into the hotel remotely on the hotel app at 4pm, and I physically arrived at the hotel at 9pm." Front desk said, "I see. I will tell my manager what happened, and he can then fix the charge." Two weeks later, nothing happened. Then, I called the hotel billing department (Edward) and questioned the charge again. Edward said, "Oh, this should be an easy fix, and I will call you back later." Another week passed, charge is still not fixed, and no phone call from Edward. To me, it is the principal, hotel should reverse false charge once they find out. I am posting this review to warn others to look at their hotel bill closely. This property is DISGUSTING and the front desk staff are RUDE. There was a huge COCKROACH in our room bathroom and staff wouldn't come to assist. They didn't even offer bug spray! Roaches are probably all over the hotel, as we saw bags of trash in the hallway. We complained to the front desk and asked someone to come and take care of it, they said they would send someone. After waiting a very long time, we went downstairs to the front desk. CHRISTOPHER was just standing around with other hotel staff. I asked him about someone coming to our room, he said there was no one from maintenance, everyone went home. He didn't even have the courtesy to call to let us know that no one was coming! I requested to change rooms, he said there were none available. I asked to speak with a manager. I then spoke with LAUREN, who proceeds to tell me there's nothing else they can do. I ask both Lauren and Christopher, would you be comfortable sleeping in a hotel room with cockroaches?! Would you be upset that the hotel tells you and your family there's nothing they can do?! Neither one of them bothered to even check if they had bug spray or anything, ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Lauren processed a refund for our room and told us we could go elsewhere. Needless to stay we left this DUMP. We will NEVER stay here again and will make sure to tell our friends, family, and the public how DISGUSTING and DIRTY this property is. Solid five stars for very clean and updated rooms, great location , and fair rates. We booked a room for two nights last minute thur a third party website . We knew we weren't going to to check in until after midnight, so I called the hotel to make sure that they know we will be checking in late . They verified our reservation and still had warm chocolate chip cookies waiting for us at check in ! Our room was on the second floor , and we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and modern the room was . The bathroom was very nice , along with the overall fit and finish of the space . There was no weird smells in the rooms or the hallways . We had a fridge , microwave, tv, and all the little bathroom things you would normally expect . The lobby was also fairly modern , they have a tiny counter area where you can get things like water, ramen, candy , ect. It wasn't cheap but it was convenient. We didn't get a chance to check out the pool but it looked well maintained and attractive. Parking was a breeze. The locAtion is so close to freeway . Plenty of restaurants, coffee spots , and more . Check in was a breeze! The staffs made sure our stay here was comfortable by offering us all kinds of options, and of course they welcome us with their infamous cookie! So good, we asked for another one (or two) ;) Room was very spacious for our family of 3, bathroom is VERY clean. WiFi is fast, lots of options on the TV guide. Keep in mind that due to COVID, they do not turn over frequently as they used, I believe only upon requests, which I get but don't at the same time. Bed was very comfy!! I swear I had a stiff neck and after one night of sleeping on their bed, the stiffness disappeared haha. Plenty of parking as well so no need to worry about rushing back early to get a spot! This review is for the Hotel itself, but the poor rating is due to Hilton Honors Guest Assistance. I had a male member of the housekeeping staff let himself into my room while I was in bed at 8:00am. It was unsettling to say the least. The front desk staff was very kind and apologetic. I raised this issue with Hilton Honors, and they opened a "case" in regards to this. I finally got an emailed response from them saying "sorry that happened, Thank you for being a Hilton Honors Member". To say the least it's disappointing and deeply concerning. I have never felt unsafe in a hotel until this happened. I'm so frustrated with Hiltons response to this. Again the front desk associates were great. Planning for our second stop in our SoCal road trip, we wanted to stay in the Arcadia area. Our friends recommended the Embassy Suites, but after reading the recent reviews, I was looking for other options. After checking out the options, I booked a room at the DoubleTree, which was three blocks away from Embassy Suites. This would be my first stay at a DoubleTree. The modern nine story hotel is located in Monrovia right off the 210. The hotel has a large self-parking lot and it is complementary. There is no bellhop services, but the luggage carts are available for you to load your luggage and wheel into the hotel. Front desk worker was friendly and welcoming and check-in was smooth. She asked if we wanted a low or high floor and we chose high and were given Room 815. She then gave us a couple of warm large chocolate chip cookies. Nice! We also got cookies each evening when we returned to the hotel. The room was modern and spacious. You need to request for daily room services and since we were just staying two nights, we forgone the need for it. We booked the room with the breakfast option and is served in Elements Restaurant in the lobby. The buffet breakfast has scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, waffles, pancakes, grits, soup, oatmeal, cereals, fruits and juices with a cooked to order omelette and eggs station. Food was good and since it was not busy, the cook even brought the omelette out to me. The servers were friendly and refilled my coffee several times. Menu price of the breakfast buffet is $19.99, but you can book it with your room for $7. A deal! There are three elevators, two on one end and one on the other. We used the two elevator bank because our room was near them. But during our Friday and Saturday stay, one of the two elevators in the bank was out of service. Also, the in-room air conditioner was on the noisy side. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again and consider DoubleTrees as a hotel choice at our destinations. read more

Had the best stay at this Double Tree this past weekend. The location is ideal, the hotel lobby and rooms are updated and modern. While my 5/5 rating goes to the unmatched customer service, complimentary cookies and pristine aesthetic, my absolute favorite part of the stay was the pool. They have a heated pool and a hot tub open late and it was rarely crowded both days we used it. Both times we lounged by the pool we ordered drinks or food from the restaurant bar. The food and drinks are solid and even better if they're enjoyed poolside. Definitely recommend if you're in the Pasadena/Los Angeles area. read more

Keyless check in, I just stopped at the front desk to get some cookies. They warned everyone not to park in spots close to the building, they would start cleaning the windows on this 10 ten story building at 7 am on a Saturday. They also reminded guests inside to close the blinds so they had some privacy, don't want window washers peepin on you sleepin. This doubletree is directly off the freeway, easy access. Note: (1) Free parking and cookies! What's not to love? (2) They do not clean the room unless you stay for five or more days unless you request it. This was my first time staying at a DoubleTree and I have to say that I was impressed. I thought it was going be to a cheap hotel but expectations were exceeded just with delicious cookies at check in! The staff was super friendly and the rooms were nice, clean and updated (not like the old hotel rooms from the 60s which many hotels still have). The only thing that I did not like was that one of the rooms had a bathtub with glass looking into the room instead of a wall. I know people pay premium for this but I just found it weird and it was also hard to get in/out of the tub. They also have a really nice pool outside in which you can use. Overall, I enjoyed my stay as the location was close to attractions that we were looking for. read more

Excellent hotel. Right off the freeway. Excellent breakfast and decent bar. Nice pool and outdoor area. Lots of nearby restaurants. Rooms are big with good bathrooms. Some rooms have nice mountain views. read more
