A friend told us about this place near downtown Tucson (we were in town for a concert at the Fox). It's pretty unique; the layout isn't fancy and all of the rooms are accessed via an outside door but the management pays attention to some interesting details that make it worthwhile. The room was clean, the water pressure was good and the wi-fi was fine. There's a bar and a restaurant. It's located off I-10, so access is easy. If you're looking for a comfortable, no-frills place to stay, this place is worth checking out.

Hotel McCoy is a throwback roadside motel that is brilliantly renovated with super friendly staff! Shout out to Amanda and Santino to making our stay extra special! The attention to detail in maintaining that oh so lovely vintage/bohemian vibe is a lost art- pun intended! Thank you for being so pet friendly! We spent a couple of nights at the Hotel McCoy for Toni's birthday and it was excellent! The Hotel is an old 60s style motor lodge from back when families took trips down route 66. It has been redone to capture a feeling of comfort and good vibes. The feeling your given is one of welcome. The staff was very helpful and took care of everything for us. The offer a breakfast with your stay. Home made oatmeal with a large verity of toppings along with coffee and tea. They have a heated saltwater pool to enjoy after your days activity. I highly recommend this place!

Glad I had the opportunity to check out this amazing retro hotel! The friendly welcome, the free beer coupons, the tasty oatmeal/Pop-tart bar-- all top-notch! And the cute, retro room made me smile! Super awesome hotel with very reasonable prices and fantastic staff. If you're looking for an artsy boutique style hotel this will be your jam! The rooms are clean and have gorgeous colorful murals. When you arrive you will get a token for a beer, wine or cider. They have a full bar and food truck. The pool is super cute too! Can't beat the price and quality!

Had a great stay here while visiting Tuscan. Hung out at the bar a lot with the hotel staff. They are very friendly good attentive. The manger was awesome. The vibe of this place is very unique. Would stay here again. Only complaint is that the mattress was a little stiff.

This place is truly awesome and I really wanted to give it 4.5 stars. I can't in good conscience give it a 5. I'm going to tell you about the bad things first and then I'll tell you about all the other wonderful amazing things about this property. The place was very clean except for the tub. I did have to request to have that cleaned before I would get into it. And they were really great about taking care of that. The towels are white and I was told they're only two months old, but all of them are stained. I had one that had black smudges on it and I didn't wanna use that towel because I really wasn't sure how clean it actually was. They told me they would replace my towels, but when I came back to my room, it looks like my towels were just folded differently, and that black towel smudge one was in the exact same place. They weren't switched out. The sheets were very stiff and felt like they had a lot of fabric pills they were uncomfortable. The bed was so hot-I don't know if it's the mattress protector or the sheets they use. The bed would have been blissful if it wasn't so hot and it had much better sheets on it. I also sleep on slippery sateen sheets normally, maybe I'm a diva.I would bring my own sheets next time. I did bring this up at the end of my stay and I was told I could ask for other sheets, but the towels felt the same, it must be the detergent or something that they use. It just doesn't make things soft. Everything seemed really stiff. The room is a little smaller than normal hotel rooms and that's completely fine but the lighting in there is terrible. You can't read in bed. There's one light it's so dim in there. I stayed over thanksgiving so Saturday I asked the housekeeping for a room refresh since they were literally in the next room and they told me I had to talk to the front desk or something other and even though honestly I could've walked to the 50 feet over there and asked it just seemed like a hassle. I really wasn't willing to deal with. It seemed completely silly to me. So if you want your room cleaned, just tell them you want it done every day when you first check in. Now for the good stuff . I love how friendly and welcoming the staff is. If you have a problem with anything, you can pretty much ask them and they'll take care of it for you. I wanted more chalk-here you go. You get a free drink so I took advantage of that and I had a nice conversation with the bartender. I think her name is, Senia. She's lovely and fun. They have free breakfast and they have an oatmeal breakfast bar. The oatmeal is actually really good. There was also white and wheat toast, pop tarts and coffee. There is a large room to sit in with communal tables or if you want to sit at the table by yourself, there is there's games all over so this room could be used multiple ways. There's a little sitting area because if you don't spring for the bigger rooms, which I would suggest doing, you don't really have a comfy place to sit in your room. They supply with these books in there so fun. I actually read a book on my vacation. The pool is a saltwater and heated all year round. They have Floaties and there's backyard games. There's all kinds of activities and there's a food truck but that will be leaving in two weeks I heard. The art on the property is fantastic and they even had a paint and wine night on Friday that started at 3pm. I wasn't aware of it, but I wish I had if I did, I would've participated. on Saturday there were people out on the deck, which is heated by the way drumming and they invited me to join them which I thought was super cool. I passed but they did it for a few hours and they asked everyone if they wanted to join and it was very rhythmatic and trance-like-it was so cool. It's such a cool property and I'm so glad I stayed there. I'd recommend it to anyone. This hotel is honestly for everyone, families, single people, all kinds of couples-young, old, same-sex,.. it's a judgment free zone and not only our people welcome but dogs are too! If you don't like dogs or people you're gonna wanna skip this place, but if you're down for a cool experience-THIS IS IT!!! Top 3 coolest hotels I've been to.

I am glad I got to experience this hotel, and would recommend it to young folks with pets for an easy place to stay on their cross-country roadtrip, but I would have to be convinced to come back. It's not for me now, but I know it would've been in my college era. Starting with the goods: the local flavor is unmatched. There is no doubt that the concept was born from a person who loves Tucson and has built community here. From the murals, to the Tucson-specific named parking spaces, to the variety of stained glass and paintings for sale, the typewriters inviting you to contribute to a ghost story if there had been any paper nearby, to the local finds "vending" machine, it all feels very intentional and I love the showcase of uniqueness. Complimentary laundry was an excellent option, and EV chargers are available by the pinball room! Upon arrival, staff made me feel welcome and check-in was a breeze. I also loved my complimentary first drink of local beer, and the PM staff were just really friendly and seemed like they enjoyed being at the hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated with enough places to sit, and the beds were so comfortable. Heated pool, gallery space with cozy couches, and the bar area in general make it a great place for friend groups and meeting new people, if that's your thing. But the bads: it's kind of impossible feel clean in the room - my bare feet were black after a few minutes of shuffling around to the shower, and the towels are as thin (and small) as paper. The AC unit is incredibly loud when it kicks on. The walls are so thin, I could hear word-by-word conversations of the college students staying on the next room over. There's a LOT of dogs and while owners do their best to get them to the small area in front of the gym/laundry room, there is a prevailing smell of pee and barking while dogs make friends - we were one of the furthest from the dog area and it was still audible. And the AM lobby staff were not so welcoming - they were flustered and pulled in multiple directions the morning we left, in that they were handling everything from coffee refills, oatmeal service, checkout, and guest complaints/evictions. They were trying their best, but the hotel should consider additional staff in the mornings. Water and ice machine were also a lil on the fritz when I and others were trying to fill bottles in the AM and the single lobby staff member had to try to help us troubleshoot too. All in all, I'm not mad that I brought my family to Hotel McCoy. But I unfortunately wouldn't bring them back.

Most fun hotel I've been to in a LOOONG time! While visiting family in Tucson I had the pleasure of checking into the best motor inn flip I'd seen in, well ever - in person at least. The reviews stood out and the photos further piqued my interest. Imagine how giddy was when it turned out to be even better yet! The exterior murals were a major highlight. I love the story of the visiting artists that graced the walls. So much character and pizazz popped with their namesake artwork. It's hard to imagine having a favorite, but driving through the entry really gave a wow factor! Checking in was a breeze and the lobby was so fun and playful. There were so many cool pieces to look at and an in house bar to boot. I was told of the amenities which included a laundry / gym, heated pool, outdoor games & fire, indoor & outdoor dining, video games on a large screen ... (just to name a few). Oh, did I mention the breakfast oatmeal bar, on site food truck, free drink token? No? All that and I haven't even gotten to the rooms yet. The rooms were a fun, vacationing Route 69 vibe of MCM with a dash of kitsch. Bold colors popped across the room with a bright yellow desk complete with vintage paperbacks to lose yourself in by the pool. A red mini fridge was the perfect size for my two day stay. Signature accessories added to the upscale motel vibe. Playful touches like a chalkboard door added whimsical charm. As an added bonus, just outside each room was a bistro set to enjoy your coffee. Having stayed mid week, my kids and I had the pool to ourselves. We ordered snacks and drinks from the bar and had the best Halloween as they played The Nightmare Before Christmas on a projector outside! Breakfast was served with fresh fruit, Pop-Tarts and your choice of local coffees or teas. I would 100% recommend staying here the next time you're in Tucson!

Fabulous, quirky and super hipster place! Immaculately clean, great service and atmosphere. Not the Ritz by any means but if you're looking at the McCoy then the Ritz is not your vibe anyway. As for us: we don't want to stay anywhere else in Tucson! Love Hotel McCoy.

I don't have a handlebar mustache or wear suspenders but I do appreciate hipster aesthetic. I like funky art and irony and good coffee. What I don't like is stained linens, threadbare towels, an inroom fridge that gurgles all night, and questionable plumbing. Also, having an extremely amplified jam band doing weak Grateful Dead covers at 9pm (80+ decibels at my door) when I have a 6am flight in the morning, well, chef's kiss to that. The staff are all super friendly but have a first-day-as-an-intern skill set. The location is convenient if you work at the Amazon distribution center across the street or want to get on I-10 in less than a minute. Surprisingly comfortable mattress tho. That's why they get 2 stars.

As if this place needs one more glowing review, but I'll add mine to the pool. Just a wonderful spot! The staff was great, the room was extremely clean and super cute besides. We loved the pool area and the corn hole but we especially loved the free pint of craft beer upon check-in. We pass through Tucson on our way to and from our winter home in Mexico and we will definitely make this our go to spot in the future! read more

Wow! We're glad we found this cute, charming, family friendly hotel/motel. Don't expect the W, but do expect friendly personal service where the staff goes above and beyond. I even heard one of the staff members thank another guest for a recommendation for an item with oatmeal. Pros: friendly staff, fun artwork, games for kids, free beer/wine, hipsters walking from the lobby with a smile and a beer (probably because it was free), free oatmeal and pop tarts in the morning, great pool and common areas. Cons: thin walls, small bathrooms, freeway noise (which wasn't terrible). To help with the noise they have white noise machines available. The owners and staff are definitely onto an amazing concept here, can we get more of these please! We drive out of our way to stay here again! read more

Hotel McCoy was the best! My husband and I stayed here while visiting family for New Year's Eve. He grew up just down the street and we we're both excited to see such an adorable and eclectic hotel so close to home. The smart TV and amazingly comfortable memory foam beds were some of the high lights. We will be back for future visits. read more

BOOK NOW! I LOVE this hotel!! Re: Covid, they are going above/beyond any other hotels I've researched/visited. Call and ask front desk for details on ALL their precautions. I stayed with my dog, Corn Dog - (no dog fees!!) - and they treated (pun intended) him with such love and provided extra touches like welcome signs and safely wrapped biscuits! The free coffee and breakfast is delish! The grounds are amazing and I had fun with photo ops abound! The hotel is 0.2 mi from the 133 mile bike trail (The Loop) and within a mile I was downtown bopping around Congress and 4th Ave. The price is right, the mood is safe, clean, and kind...and it's a small biz, with organic products, local food, local artists, and environmentally savvy. read more

Awesome concept for a hotel. Motel setup redone with vintage pop look. Clean and well done rooms. Nice features like super comfy bed and big screen TV. Friendly, easygoing staff. They give you a free drink per guest at their bar by the front desk and offer free breakfast with good options and beverages. Dog friendly as well. Seemed very safe. Also they have a local version of Uber Eats that delivers to the hotel for free. Would definitely stay here again. read more

I don't even know where to start with how amazing this place is. It's EVERYTHING you want in a low-key but super awesome hotel. Local EVERYTHING, friendly staff who have the best recommendations, clean and cool rooms, and SO much more. The bar is fully stocked as well as the snacks and non-alcoholic drinks if you want to sit by the poolside with the fire pit lit. It is UNBEATABLE for the price. My friend and I were traveling through Tucson from Texas and we arrived at hotel McCoy around midnight. We messed up the online booking but the hotel manager was so nice about it and figured out the best way to help us so we could check in quickly. The whole staff was nice actually, I wanted to hug them but I didn't want to make it weird. We felt welcomed and comfortable and it was honestly the cutest hotel I've ever stayed in! read more

Amazing, eclectic hotel. The attention to detail at this hotel is second to none. We loved the heated, saltwater pool. Rooms were clean, and equipped with large screen TVs and multiple ways to stream your favorite shows. Close to downtown. Great place for an overnight! I have driven Texas to CA a fair amount and always stop in Tucson. So happy to have found this hotel. Conveniently located right off the 10. Super friendly staff, love the welcome poker chip (turn in for drink of choice). Room was clean, great vintage decor, great memory foam bed. The whole property is decorative with local artwork and murals. Cute pool, common area, and out door corn hole. The complimentary oatmeal bar in the morning is legit. Loved all the local beer, wine, coffee, tea etc. Thank you for coming up with a great concept that's different and fun! Desert gem! read more

Absolutely love this Hotel! I booked Hotel McCoy off 3rd party site for one night as a roadtrip pitstop for our summer vacation. When we arrived we noticed the 'fun' murals and artwork on the outside of the building. Check in was easy and service was pleasant. After one shower in, our tub didn't drain so we called the front desk. Without hesitation the staff quickly relocated us to a near by room and offered us a bottle of wine (which we declined) as an apology. We stopped in at the bar for a drink...highly recomend the house red. Fantastic! Breakfast next morning was perfect! This hotel is a hidden gem in Tuscon. Hospitality exceptional. Very clean! Very dog friendly! Very People friendly! Pretty and Amusing surroundings! Cute table and chairs outside each door! Pool and Ping Pong! Awesome beer and Oatmeal! Rooms are clean and new. We hosted my daughter's 18th birthday party in Hotel McCoy's event center. The space was beautiful, the staff was amazing and everyone had a great time. We love that the hotel has a retro, inviting decor, but more importantly, they support local artists and businesses! The beer, coffee and wine offered is from locals and the art all over the property features and supports local artists. The rooms are comfortable and unique. The pool area is clean and inviting and has foosball and ping pong tables. Even if you don't get a room there, which you'll want to do, you'll feel inclined to spend hours just hanging out, playing games in the lounge or zen garden or chatting it up at the bar with the super friendly staff. We love this place. The retro vibe, great staff, hospitality and easy comfort will keep us coming back. The local art is particularly charming plus the opportunity to purchase a piece for a reasonable price is a plus. The hotel provides the gallery space for the artist and all proceeds go back to the artist. What a gift to the art community. Way to go Hotel McCoy!! read more

Can only give 2 star review for about half of a satisfactory stay at this place. The room itself was very clean and updated; however, the mattress was very worn with sagging on one half of the bed. Thankfully, I was the only person in the bed but even the other half had me rolling into the sagging half; kept waking up throughout the night. The other issue was only half a roll of toilet paper provided for the room. Maybe they are afraid of people stealing? And finally, when I checked out, I asked for a receipt and was told I had to get that through the 3rd party booking company online. They too cheap to print out a piece of paper??? Great stay!! Amazing service! As soon as we got there we checked in & they greeted us with a beer or glass of wine (21+). Breakfast was good. What a fun place to stay! We stumbled across this hotel when looking for a place to stay in Tucson. We usually stay at a chain hotel, but decided to try something a little different and we are so glad we did! From the minute we got there until we left, we felt like we had such a unique experience. This hotel has gone out of it's way to make even the most common things, a little more interesting. The decor was fun. The room was comfortable and the oatmeal bar in the morning was really good! We also had the pleasure of listening to some live music on Saturday morning. The kid who was singing was only 13 and he was amazing!! We will definitely be back the next time we visit Tucson read more

Wow where do I begin to start with how memorable this little place was, from how friendly the staff was or to the atmosphere it has to offer. I ended up booking this place when I was driving across country & knew of Tucson from where my dads from & it was right off the 10. Funny cause when I woke up just outside my room I could see "A" Mountain which I remember climbing up to as a kid whenever I would visit my dads family which was a nice little moment of nostalgia. Would highly agree to come back for another visit & would definitely recommend (: the rooms were quite clean, spacious & cozy. Loved how they had a bar in the lobby so you didn't even have to leave the place. Wish I could've stayed longer than one night. read more

Talk about attention to detail! This was by far the most unique experience and best hotel I have ever stayed at. I dont know where to start, as everywhere I turned, there was something unique and fun. From the outdoor activities, firepit, games, tons of local art murals, local beer and wine, on call babysitters, the bst oatmeal bar Ive ever ate. The staff was always helpful and fun. Even the management was really hands on and incredibly friendly! I highly recommend staying here, even if you aren't already going to Tuscon for family or business, just go! Hotel McCoy was comfortable and fun kitschy. I knocked off a star because the bathroom sink did not drain. They had an oatmeal bar for breakfast with lots of nuts and seeds to put on top. And they had much better coffee than your chain motels. Definitely a worthwhile place to stay. read more

Booked this on Hotels.com....Great renovations!! Very pet friendly and no pet fees which is a huge plus!! Staff is amazingly friendly and they really make sure you have a great stay!! This place was awesome! We were driving from CA to FL with our 2 chihuahuas, and needed a pet friendly hotel. Found McCoy on-line and arrived just in time for our free drink (beer for hubby, wine for me). Nice little dog park area, very clean room, best oatmeal bar for breakfast and honestly some of the best coffee we've ever had! This was by far our favorite place to stay during the entire trip. Loved this spot. The bed was sooo comfortable. The rooms were meticulously clean and welcoming. Definitely distinguished itself from chain hotels. LOVE this place. Just driving through on a mini road trip and came across this gem. I wish all stops could be like this. They're an "art" hotel and murals all around the building with arts for sell in the lobby. Adorable little bar, they do game night and cute little fire pit! Talk the about adorable rooms too! Awesome hotel. Very much a fan of outside entry first-floor hotels like this. (that aren't motel 6 lol) Pet-friendly, which is awesome since we were traveling with 2 dogs. Love the artsy style, and all the murals painted outside. Very clean which is extremely important to me. The only complaints I had are: There were 4 beetles found in the room during our 1 night stay. (maybe just has to do with the area, I was only passing through.) The hand soap was so diluted it shot out all over everything every time I used it to wash my hands since it was 90% water & 10% soap, and they accidentally gave someone else our room key. We were laying on the bed (Thankfully fully clothed) and someone opened our door. Our dogs went nuts, good thing they shut the door quickly. An honest mistake but now we will always double lock hotel rooms! read more

At our mid-century modern art hotel, we focus on local culture and affordability, offering fellow wanderers vintage personality, lively amenities and great deals. When you march to the beat of your own drum, you have to do things a bit off the beaten path. When we came up with the idea of an art concept hotel with low enough rates to accommodate travel for all, we were told it was impossible by everyone except the people of Tucson. We found a mid-century modern hotel right off the freeway, sans noise, where we can offer incredible amenities without a downtown premium. The best part? Downtown is just a $5 Uber ride away. Tucson is our heart. We'll share that with you when you are here. The property is adorned with pieces created by Arizona artists. The beer we serve was brewed just down the street. I chose to attend to view the historic 1901 venue Stillwell House and Garden to experience with great anticipation snd high expectations as seen and read in many positive Yelp reviews. Our Tucson Yelp GM Isabella J. has touted this venue as one of her favorites which I have not visited before and lived up to said expectations in ambiance , efficiency , and enjoyment. Just a block south of Charro Steak and del Rey Seafood on south 5th avenue on the corner lies this large party venue . Not surprising the venue is owned and part of the large and local Si Charro group growing empire of restaurants in greater Tucson Arizona and beyond. Entering the large center courtyard the Stillwell house was highly decorated and lite up tastefully as a December Holiday party with over a hundred people celebrating a yearly party for the Presidio Group. began in the bar area. Hors d'oeuvres of meatballs & mini chimichangas in one area and large guacamole building table all fully staffed and foods presented colorfully by the Si Charro kitchen on site. In another corner by the bar had hot Mexican chocolate and cafe de ola . And in another corner was a huge cookie table with gingerbread houses and a large gingerbread cookie character anchoring the table filled with sweets . I was impressed with the large comfortable space accommodating this somewhat large crowd very comfortably . The large staff fully attended to the guests every need . After approximately an hour the gathering was surprisingly moved to the north side two story building adjacent to the the patio for a buffet dinner with festive green corn tamales , chicken mole , & prime rib with a bean medley, rice , tortillas , & tossed salad again fully staffed with friendly and efficient servers . Impressive were the seasonal colors and character added to all the food presented to celebrate and garnish the food for the winter solstice holiday season . The green corn tamales and chicken mole were especially tasty as was all the food presented. Following dinner the guests moved back to the patio and bar areas for the cookie table , Mexican hot chocolate & cafe de la ola awaiting a raffle of prizes patrons hoped to win. . Everyone was a winner with small bags of cookies professionally personalized the Presido Group Wealth Management logo for everyone to take home . I can now see why this is a popular wedding & other event venue in this historic large setting . The staff , food , decor ,and setting makes such events quite memorable. I mainly came to make a short visit to experience the venue, during the event my nfl football team the Lions where playing an important Thursday night game with playoff implications. Although I asked in advance if a tv was avaiable only an extremely small tv was hidden and off in the top corner of the bar. If wanted I could follow the game on my phone , but I did not . The food,drink," business friends , & festive historic setting enticed me to stay longer for most of the 2.5 hour early evening event rather than leaving early as pre planned . I couldn't resist staying for the dinner portion catered by Si Charro on site and throughly enjoyed the whole event & Stillwell House and Garden experience. It's now obvious why this is a most popular event location for your complete party venue needs. A true historic local gem" in downtown Tucson. I would consider using Uber or Lyft transportation Uber again at that busy time downtown . I'm told there's a parking garage nearby , the on street parking was full , but the valet parking made arrival much easier,thank you. ( I was told the Stillwell House & Garden has been under the same family ownership since 1901 but cannot confirm they fact ) That said historic 1901 historic Stillwell House and Garden experience is another " feather in cap " so to speak for our downtown city of gastronomy & Si Charro groups ever growing and expanding culinary & social experience.

Okay this place is rad. I was a little nervous to stay here because there were no reviews but I got here and found out it's because they JUST OPENED. Rooms were clean full of brand new stuff.There's art everywhere, the pool is super clean and I was told they clean it 2 times a day. The rooms are on the smaller side but I didn't mind, I spent most of my time at the bar and playing pinball. All of their beers are from Tucson breweries which I think is neat. Nothing within walking distance but I borrowed a bike from them (a little cruiser) and went up the street for tacos and took a Lyft to downtown for night fun. There was ping-pong, foosball, and bean bag throwing too but I was traveling solo :( so I didn't get to play. read more

We were very excited about staying, but due to multiple states rise is covid & new orders not to travel, we had to cancel our trip. I am old school & like to book direct, my daughter is new school & booked our room..which in this case proves "old school ways" are the BEST. We had an issue with cancelling our reservations and I initially blamed McCoys for the issue and I "was wrong" --Nicole @ MCCoys was prompt in replying & explained everything to me. Stayed 1 night after opening. Didn't expect much based on the rate I was paying ($85 including free breakfast), but it exceeded all my expectations. The hotel has a cool atmosphere, where they are showcasing local wine and food. Checkin was easy, the staff friendly, rooms were well appointed and ultra clean, with great furnishings. More like a $200/night hotel. To top it off, I received a complimentary bottle of wine as they just opened. Glad I saw these guys on Expedia, as the other area options under $100/night were suspect.
