Wife and I…read morewere in town on a Sunday, had great food and drinks and didn't feel like driving home back to the East Bay. Decided to hop on an app that shows me last minute hotel deals and saw Southbridge at the top of the list. Since we had a babysitter and the room rates were great, we decided to book our last minute stay. Just right across the street from Gotts and next door to Charter Oak, there was plenty of parking in the back. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and to our surprise, we were given Room 8 which was a big room that had a balcony that faced the street. Highlights - beds and pillows were comfortable, water pressure in the shower was probably the best I've experienced in a while. A quick little walk over to the next building over and as hotel guests, you have full access to all of the amenities at Health Spa Napa Valley (heated lap pool, hot tub, full gym, steam room). This was super nice to just unwind and relax after a day of over indulging. You can also place a light breakfast order to be delivered to your room at your selected time; boiled eggs, croissant, fruit, coffee, etc. Something to be aware of; the hotel is situation right off of the main road Hwy28 so if you're a light sleeper, you will hear cars, trucks and motorcycles all times of the day and night. Definitely plan on coming back again during off peak days to enjoy the amenities.

They welcome you with a nice personalized sign in your room, complimentary water and apples. The sustainable features are impressive - Instead of plastic bottles and paper cups, they give you a glass carafe and glass cups. The towels are so soft and plentiful, extra pillows and a blanket supplied were nicer than my own linens at home, certainly not just the extras. They supply cozy and comfy robes, a duraflame log for the fireplace upon request, and a sweet turn down service with stamped cookies that shout "welcome home." We enjoyed the walkability to visit art galleries and boutiques in St. Helena. We attended brunch at Mustard and Dinner reservation at Charter Oak. *Yum*!! After a long day of wine tasting, the restaurant next door/attached has delicious wood fired pizzas which we could not pass up! The drinks at the bar were generous and was a nice switch up from wine (although they have wine too, of course!) while we watched the sports game that was on. We dropped off our Continental breakfast selections which are delivered straight to your room the next morning. We felt so pampered, eating breakfast in the comfort of our own room in our robes and slippers. The mini fridge allowed us to save extras we might want to snack on later. The Illy espresso machine made it so we could enjoy espresso throughout the day and even a decaf shot at night. The pastries served are on another level and pretty much awards them the best Continental breakfast we've ever had!! We were sad we didn't get to take advantage of the health spa privileges, but it felt very nice to know we could have enjoyed the spa and sauna should we have chosen to. They give you a complimentary tasting at Merryvale across the parking lot which is an exceptional value since to reserve online was $60/person. Their wines are fantastic and the people are just as great! Our trip to Napa Valley was superb thanks to the staff and grounds at Southbridge. We will certainly come again and highly recommend it to others traveling and looking for subtle luxury and amazing comfort.

Ready to stay 1 more night in Napa. Already 3 nights into a 1 night stay and no vacancy anywhere…read more Since we were in the Yountville area we opted for the Alila, a Hyatt brand, in St. Helena makes it 4 nights. This place is super expensive. Good thing I had a bunch of World of Hyatt points to use instead cash. Driving in there are only a few parking spaces so have to use valet parking which I'm never a fan of. But, first perk, it's free. After check in a bell hop walked us to our room. Upon opening the door we are greeted with a awesome view of the Beringer Winery grounds and after stepping on the deck a creek below us. Lots of electronics here including light switches, a tablet with hotel information and be warned as you approach the bathroom the computer toilet lid opens on its own. You've been warned. The light switches by the bed has a romantic setting. Not sure what it did cause the lighting looked the same. All the light control were on touch pads. The deck overlooking the creek and Beringer had a nice couch and 2 big cushioned rocking chairs around a round gas fire pit. It a controlled by a timer on the wall so if you fell asleep out there it would go off on its own. At night the deck is very private but come morning it might be a good idea to wear clothes since people are walking around on the grounds across the way. Unless you just don't care. For dinner we went Salvia on the grounds and perk 2...free corkage for the first bottle when you stay at the hotel. The air stayed on all night which keeps it nice and cool. In the past at other places I've rigged up balloons and other stuff to trick the sensors to keep the air on. So back to Mr. Toilet. Not only does the lid open it is a full bidet with seat warmer, sprays and air dryer. If you want one for your home they are on Amazon. The grounds look great with pool and gym etc. Didn't take in any of the other amenities this time.

What can I say, goofing off in Napa beats the heck out of adulting any day. Our stay started off at the downtown Napa Andaz, but they were fully booked when we tried extending our stay, so we stayed at three different places in the area, the final one being Alila. RB had ample points to cover our stay - get that Hyatt credit card, y'all - which is awesome, because a night at this place costs more than a month's rent. But let's not talk prices, it's gauche. The hotel is beautiful, as you would expect of a hotel of this caliber. We were in Room 107, with a perfect view overlooking a creek and lots of lush greenery. The room was spotless and comfortable, and I loved the marble bathroom. Also appreciated the scale in the bathroom. I typically bring my own scale on trips so I can monitor how much damage my gluttony is doing that I'm going to have to pay for later. We had dinner at the Salvia Terrace and Bar at the hotel, which was good, for which I'll do a separate review. We had a good night's sleep. The room was quiet and stayed comfortably cool. I cannot sleep in a warm room, and a major pet peeve of mine are those motion-sensor AC units that shut off at night, leading to a restless night when you're paying for a good night's sleep. Didn't have that issue here. We slept in late, and were getting ready to head out by the 11am checkout. At 11:01, the TV stopped working, a less-than-subtle reminder that 'you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.' Very nice stay, I'll be back here regularly if I win the lottery. Make sure you bring cash to tip the bell hops and valet parkers.

There are fruits and vegetables and flowers and just about everything you can imagine in just a beautiful setting. And she is just so proud of what she has and loves nothing more than sharing it with her guests, we know that firsthand. The room itself that we have which is in the cottage House is quaint and simple but really quite comfortable. everything is clean and they are just so attentive for anything you could possibly need or want. As we are not staying in the main house we get a continental style breakfast in the morning and again Mimi goes out of the way to provide freshly baked breads and muffins and fruit that she's picked from her trees and tomatoes that she's picked from her gardens And homemade jams again from the fruits of her garden and does everything possible to make you enjoy yourselves. And this year we have also been fortunate enough for her to provide us with these incredible homemade organic exquisite unusual iced teas again from various ingredients on her property. They are delicious and unlike anything we've ever had. And once again not to be repetitive or redundant, but this is not something that she has to do for us this is something that she wants to do just to share because that's what kind of person she is. Beautiful place beautiful setting beautiful location. no it's not a five-star resort but for what you are getting in this incredible setting it's hard to imagine that every single person that stays here doesn't enjoy it like we do.

I hate to give this review but wanted to let potential guests know that the value didn't equal the price. Ed and Mimi were very nice hosts. The breakfasts were homemade and healthy. Most everything came from their garden. The beds were comfortable and my room was fairly large. The problem is the farmhouse is a little run down. I had ants in my room, the deck was covered in debris from the various trees. Very close to St. Helena off a busy highway. It was not hard to get in and out but it wasn't the quiet place advertised. Again, nice people, the Inn just a bit worn.

We were initially quite satisfied with the place overall, until later at night when we were in bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets. It wasn't just one or two drops--there were several, in different spots throughout the bed as well as the blanket. It seems that housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the sheets each night. The poor housekeeping is especially concerning amidst the pandemic. It's concerning enough that blood is on the sheets and not being cleaned, and it's a whole other concern that housekeeping didn't even notice the stained sheets. We called the front desk to request new sheets and blankets, but they were only able to provide us with a very thin sheet, so despite booking a deluxe king room, we had to sleep without comfy sheets and blankets. There are several other gorgeous boutique hotels in the Napa area. Book another place that takes cleanliness more seriously.

The lovely host took me on quick tour and had someone help me with my bags upstairs. You would be surprised how rarely that happened on our trip through Napa. The room was gorgeous. I owned my own cleaning business for 10 years and the level of cleanliness was unparalleled. The carpet was thick and the bed sheets did not have that bleach rough texture you often find in any hotel these days. The courtyard offered a pool and an amazing hot tub surrounded by lounge areas and fire pits. We spent the evening in the hot tub looking at stars and full moon, drinking some wine we picked up along the way. No glass allowed in pool area but they provided plastic wine glasses. The breakfast was sit down style and you selected a few options as part of the package. You could add on for a fee. The English muffin is to die for and domes from local bakery. We stopped at Oakville Grocery on our way and had a nice little charcuterie in our room to snack on. Highly recommend as a stop for treats it's only 6 minutes away. We walked to dinner at Rutherfords Grill that's just across parking lot. You can easily go to the winery near by as well.
