Not the same post the Glass fire which destroyed a significant portion of the property, the main compound & golf course. The cottages are nice. But it felt like just a bunch of cottages in the woods without the vistas from the main building. Service was excellent, but we only dealt with the valet & the person who checked us in with an iPad in our room. The cottages could benefit from remodeling. The shower was huge but had only one shower head & it was not a removable one. The toilet is right next to the bathtub versus being in a stand alone enclosed room. The bathroom was not bright enough and there were no lights in the shower nor over the bath tub. The TV was mounted such that it was not visible straight on from the bed nor couch, so you have to turn your head to watch tv. The fire place lacked an auto starter switch. The room price is at pre-fire rates which doesn't make sense. At that price there are many better alternatives. It's not quite a 3 star. More like 2.50 - 2.75 stars.

The Meadowood restaurant is just incredible! Even at their temporary location. The drinks are beautiful and delicious, and the food was out of this world. Guy and Frankie treated us so well. We can't wait to be back!

My family and I just returned from a four-night stay at Meadowood. This was our first "real" vacation after spending the past two years close to home. It was a fantastic re-entry into the world of travel. The resort is absolutely breathtaking and while another reviewer mentioned the damage done by the 2020 fire, it's difficult to imagine something better than what we experienced (minus the fact that the famed restaurant was closed). We each felt like we were staying in a private, gorgeously-appointed, luxury cottage. Each room (our party stayed in two different Treeline Suites and two different Oakview rooms ) had something special to offer. Our room (a Treeline suite) overlooked the olive trees and vineyards that line the road leading up to the property - which provided some pretty spectacular views. From the concierge to the bellmen to the groundskeeping staff to housekeeping to the phone operators to the in-room dining staff to the staff at the spa - everyone - and I mean: EVERYONE was nothing short of amazing. During a pandemic when most in the travel industry are struggling to find employees- Meadowood is staffed with superstars. They really do go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and like a VIP. That's great all of the time, but it's really appreciated when traveling can feel a bit precarious. If you want a self-contained resort that is very close to some of the best wineries and restaurants in Napa - Meadowood is the place to go. We've visited Napa and Sonoma many times and have always enjoyed the hotels we've stayed in - Meadowood is next-level. Now that I know just how great it is, we won't be staying elsewhere.

Yeah it's basically as amazing as you would expect, and really just not sure how it could be better. Came here for 2 nights on a corporate boondoggle and just an awesome place. Everyone working here is very pleasant and helpful and tries to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Plus when we showed up in the morning they had just put out fresh cookies and cider and they had me hooked right then. The rooms are nice little suites with a very comfy sitting room, nice sized bathrooms and comfy as all hell beds. I dId have to sleep in the middle bed cause one side had a noticeable divot due to overuse but still really comfy. I was woken up each morning by acorn woodies in the tree right outside my room which I loved even if they woke me up before I was ready, hard to beat those acorn woodies doing there thing right by your room. The property is just amazing and even though I was up until 130am drinking wine from the 90s one night I still got up each day to do the hike around the property with amazing sunrises and birds all around. Stellar's Jays among with hairy and downy woodpeckers greeted me while I hiked/ran around the property, and since it was January I had the place to myself on all the trails. Can't say enough good things about the Meadowood, we had a dinner in one of the private rooms and food was kick ass amazing as well as service. Can't wait to come back, and while summer has got to be sweet here with the croquet and golf and generally warmer, winter is amazing too, definitely won't be disappointed.

Such a beautiful property nestled in a beautiful little area of Napa Valley! We had eaten at The Restaurant 8-9 years back and was able to finally come back and stay again after they had recovered from the fires. Although The Restaurant and part of the property is still being rebuilt...I'm just so happy they are back. Thank you for the wonderful stay and the extremely nice and helpful staff! I would recommend this magical property to anyone!

Beautiful grounds and wonderful rooms that have everything. Rooms are gorgeous stand alone cabins that each have private wooden decks, fireplace, sunken bathtub, huge shower, vaulted ceilings and windows everywhere. Our room had lovely views and just the most tranquil feel. Rooms are pretty spread out and many are far from everything but they will pick you up and shuttle you all over the property in nice vehicles. Pebble pathways make walking in heels a little hard. There are a lot of stairs that lead to the cabins-be prepared to walk or climb stairs! Delicious hot apple cider and cookies in the reception area every day. Your choice of newspapers delivered to your room every morning Food is expensive as heck though. A bagel is $10 Free wifi throughout the property and if your service is AT&T and spotty-they will give you a free 'boost' Service is wonderful. Very respectful cheery and on top of it.

Nothing like starting off our anniversary weekend with some bubbly, a dozen of red roses, personalized note AND chocolates!
    Cherylynn N.

Romance schmomance weekend getaway. Let me preface by saying that there's nothing more annoying than couples PDAing over social networks like FB. "Honey buns, pookie wookie misses you..." "Noooo, pookie wookie...honey buns misses you more." For Christ sakes, don't you people have Gchat or text? This was annoying when I was single and still annoys me to this day so I promise to limit the use of annoying PDA descriptors and pet names in this review. As our one year anniversary was approaching, Snookums said, I mean Mr. NSS said, he had a couple of surprises in store for us. One night, however, as he was showing me his phone, I started to chuckle as I read, "Call Meadowood to confirm reservations". Anniversary Surprise FAIL. Yah, he spent the whole weekend beating himself about that but promised there was more surprises in store. I soon figured out he also had made dinner reservations at Three Michelin Star Meadowood (review to come) and scheduled a couples massage. Anniversary Surprise EPIC FAIL. A valiant effort considering Mr. NSS had never made a single reservation before meeting me; so he claims. Going in, I knew that Meadowood was a 5 star resort, however, I have never experienced a 5 star resort like this. Boosting over 250 acres, Meadowood is an AHHH-MAZING resort tucked away on a hillside. Clusters of private bungalows are scattered throughout the resort and there's seven tennis courts, a croquet lawn, hiking trails, swimming pool, health spa and private wine tastings. The resort itself is not Vegas glamorous but it's luxuriously comfortable and perfect for a relaxing yet indulgent getaway. The staff and the hospitality exuded is epitome of first class. We're no millionaires (unless le boss decides to gives me a million dollar raise) but Meadowood made us feel like one for the weekend. If Yelp had a 10 star rating scale, Meadowood would earn every one of those stars. ~ * ~CHECK-IN~ * ~ * Check-in is at 4 pm and they even called at 3:50 pm to let us know our bungalow was ready. After checking in, Keith came to help us with our luggage. He brought us to our bungalow AND showed us its amenities AND went over the resort map with us. The drive there is spooky at night as it's pitch black and lacks visible signage so I highly recommend checking in before the sun sets. ~ * ~ROOM~ * ~ Mr. NSS booked the "Art of Romance" package (average weekend cost: $1,000/night) and I was nicely welcomed with a bottle of bubble and a dozen of roses: http://bit.ly/18w945X. We were placed in the scenic lawn view room with a fireplace. I normally wake up to a hairy ass in my face (my Pom's) so there was nothing like waking up to lush greens and people playing croquet: http://bit.ly/10zLvEf. The bathroom had dual vanity and a tub. The shower head had strong water pressure. I do wish there was more counter space in the bathroom and an outlet on the side (not the middle). When I was either blow drying or curling my hair, the cord would clothesline all my makeup bottles. A slip guard for the tub would have been nice to prevent clumsy and/or drunken mishaps. ~ * ~AMENITIES~ * ~ *Free WiFi *Flat screen TV *Molton Brown hair care and body care products *Archipelago scented candles *Illy espresso machine: http://bit.ly/12GabvG *Cuisinart electric kettle ~ * ~UNPARALLELED SERVICE~ * ~ The staff will greet you and wave as you drive in, and welcome you with a smile and by your name. I never saw a grumpy face the entire weekend and there was absolutely no pretentiousness just pure genuine friendliness, attentiveness, and professionalism. ~ * ~IN-ROOM DINING~ * ~ The only let down was the food. The Corned Beef Hash ($19) was dry and salty and the Smoked Salmon Benedict ($19) had a broken hollandaise sauce: http://bit.ly/14R7GoN. Tack on a 20% service charge, $6 delivery charge, 8% tax and tip, it's really a waste of money for mediocrity. ~ * ~SPA~ * ~ *Swimming pool: http://bit.ly/14R7iGI *Gym (closes at 8 pm) *Full spa services (we had a 60 minute pure relaxation massage with the wonderful Annette and Morris, whom left us in tranquil bliss) ~ * ~PARKING~ * ~ Free parking for guests and visitors ~ * ~GOING ABOVE & BEYOND~ * ~ *Personalized itinerary provided in the "Art of Romance" package: http://bit.ly/17TPbX3 *Daily wine reception from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm = FREE alkie! http://bit.ly/1b7WWre *Complementary ice tea, lemonade, and cold bottles of water in the reception area *Ice buckets refilled daily *Fresh pair of slippers are placed bedside nightly *Freshly baked cookies are delivered nightly with the daily Meadowood Journal: http://bit.ly/13lRKj2 *Complimentary ride(s) to and from your desired area within the resort in a Benzo Thank you, Mr. NSS and thank you, Meadowood for creating the best and most memorable anniversary any girl could ask for. P.S. - Please remember to shut your windows when engaging in "extra-curricular" activities. Although the bungalows are private, they're not THAT private... ;)

Catered event for Hall Winery - Nov 23, 2013

Awesome Catering Outfit in Wine Country SITREP I have to give a big shout out to Hall Winery for introducing me to this exceptional catering outfit: Meadowood Napa Valley - Picture of Napkin Logo: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/meadowood-napa-valley-st-helena?select=e8I6xQGytX9W1qb-FVSyoA#sWsTMgC3nseMYM-7BbXVUQ They catered, served and paired the most exquisite taste bites with a wonderful taste-tour that my friends and I were lucky to participate on this past Saturday, November 23. THE TASTE BITES There was nothing but elegant preparation in each of the tasty delicacies that we got to sample with the wines on this 4-Flight tour throughout the winery campus. * 1st Flight (Reception)- a delicious Ahi Tuna Tartare, with Avocado and Lime on a Gaufrette Potato Crustini, and this was wonderfully paired with the 2012 HALL Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The Ahi's spiciness was wonderfully accentuated by the coolness of the Sauvignon Blanc. See picture: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/meadowood-napa-valley-st-helena?select=e8I6xQGytX9W1qb-FVSyoA#YwE_Ep66ZYzkx_JB7A0utw * 2nd Flight (The Conference Rooms) - a very savory Duck Confit Tortellini, and Duck Consommé, with Micro Red Mustard, and this was wonderfully paired with the 2010 HALL Napa Valley Merlot. Both just accentuated one another and emboldened the overall heartiness & earthiness of these flavors. See picture: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/meadowood-napa-valley-st-helena?select=e8I6xQGytX9W1qb-FVSyoA#pTIBZrbLAE0DDE1Zg7jePw * 3rd Flight - (The Barrel Rooms) - a zesty Parmesan gnocchi topped with dried spanish chorizo & braised in Hall Cabernet, and this was wonderfully paired with the 2010 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (so a Cabernet Double-Whammy!) This was chancy and could have been OVERDONE on Cabernet, but it wasn't! And actually, THIS pairing was my favorite of the day, though all were amazing. See picture: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/meadowood-napa-valley-st-helena?select=e8I6xQGytX9W1qb-FVSyoA#F4fCTRCtYsv9KPnSLOjHRg * 4th Flight (The Recreation & Bar Rooms) - a Beef Tataki on Koshu Yuzu Granit, and this was paired with the 2010 HALL Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. AMAZEBALLS. I would have loved a steak-sized version of the Beef Tataki! See picture: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/meadowood-napa-valley-st-helena?select=e8I6xQGytX9W1qb-FVSyoA#3Sm-owRf0zHiTm5SwUlQhg THE CATERING STAFF The young lads & ladies were all incredible, efficient and friendly. They were all too happy to indulge my passion for their taste bites and very willing to put up with my taking pictures of them, letting me pose and get them & their trays in a good light, etc. Such an exceptional staff. THE LOWDOWN Meadowood Napa Valley is definitely your go-to catering outfit for exquisite taste bites for you special events!

My golfer husband took me for brunch here and we had a wonderful experience. I ordered my fave eggs Benedict and they were perfect. The ambiance is so quaint and beautiful. Staff are friendly and obviously highly trained customer service. Highly recommend.

Decided to hop on an app that shows me last minute hotel deals and saw Southbridge at the top of the list. Since we had a babysitter and the room rates were great, we decided to book our last minute stay. Just right across the street from Gotts and next door to Charter Oak, there was plenty of parking in the back. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and to our surprise, we were given Room 8 which was a big room that had a balcony that faced the street. Highlights - beds and pillows were comfortable, water pressure in the shower was probably the best I've experienced in a while. After a long day of wine tasting, the restaurant next door/attached has delicious wood fired pizzas which we could not pass up! The staff was absolutely fantastic, and the property was extremely clean and well maintained. We loved being able to communicate with the front desk and concierge through the app. The service and food at the onsite restaurant were also excellent. We especially enjoyed the variety of breakfast menu options and the delicious, unique execution of everything we tried. However, the amenities in our hotel room were not what we are accustomed to seeing at other Alila resorts or hotels of this caliber. There were absolutely no snacks or beverages aside from refillable water bottles that were not even chilled. There were no fruit or snack deliveries throughout our stay and no turndown service. It was also surprising to see small plastic coffee creamer containers -- something we honestly have not encountered in hotel rooms since staying at a Motel 6 nearly twenty years ago. While I did enjoy the Le Labo toiletries in the bathroom and shower, there were no makeup remover wipes, hair brushes, shaving products, or other thoughtful touches that are usually standard in five-star hotels. With so many wonderful resorts in the Napa area, we truly regretted spending our money here.

There are fruits and vegetables and flowers and just about everything you can imagine in just a beautiful setting. And she is just so proud of what she has and loves nothing more than sharing it with her guests, we know that firsthand. The room itself that we have which is in the cottage House is quaint and simple but really quite comfortable. everything is clean and they are just so attentive for anything you could possibly need or want. As we are not staying in the main house we get a continental style breakfast in the morning and again Mimi goes out of the way to provide freshly baked breads and muffins and fruit that she's picked from her trees and tomatoes that she's picked from her gardens And homemade jams again from the fruits of her garden and does everything possible to make you enjoy yourselves. And this year we have also been fortunate enough for her to provide us with these incredible homemade organic exquisite unusual iced teas again from various ingredients on her property. They are delicious and unlike anything we've ever had. And once again not to be repetitive or redundant, but this is not something that she has to do for us this is something that she wants to do just to share because that's what kind of person she is. Beautiful place beautiful setting beautiful location. no it's not a five-star resort but for what you are getting in this incredible setting it's hard to imagine that every single person that stays here doesn't enjoy it like we do.

Farmhouse style Inn along the Highway about 2 miles from St. Helena…read more Not what I expected for the price I paid for two nights. Over $1k! I hate to give this review but wanted to let potential guests know that the value didn't equal the price. Ed and Mimi were very nice hosts. The breakfasts were homemade and healthy. Most everything came from their garden. The beds were comfortable and my room was fairly large. The problem is the farmhouse is a little run down. I had ants in my room, the deck was covered in debris from the various trees. Very close to St. Helena off a busy highway. It was not hard to get in and out but it wasn't the quiet place advertised. Again, nice people, the Inn just a bit worn.

My partner and I booked a weekend stay at this hotel. We got a king room with a vineyard view. The…read moreroom was spacious and the views of the vineyard were gorgeous. We were initially quite satisfied with the place overall, until later at night when we were in bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets. It wasn't just one or two drops--there were several, in different spots throughout the bed as well as the blanket. It seems that housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the sheets each night. The poor housekeeping is especially concerning amidst the pandemic. It's concerning enough that blood is on the sheets and not being cleaned, and it's a whole other concern that housekeeping didn't even notice the stained sheets. We called the front desk to request new sheets and blankets, but they were only able to provide us with a very thin sheet, so despite booking a deluxe king room, we had to sleep without comfy sheets and blankets. There are several other gorgeous boutique hotels in the Napa area. Book another place that takes cleanliness more seriously.

The lovely host took me on quick tour and had someone help me with my bags upstairs. You would be surprised how rarely that happened on our trip through Napa. The room was gorgeous. I owned my own cleaning business for 10 years and the level of cleanliness was unparalleled. The carpet was thick and the bed sheets did not have that bleach rough texture you often find in any hotel these days. The courtyard offered a pool and an amazing hot tub surrounded by lounge areas and fire pits. We spent the evening in the hot tub looking at stars and full moon, drinking some wine we picked up along the way. No glass allowed in pool area but they provided plastic wine glasses. The breakfast was sit down style and you selected a few options as part of the package. You could add on for a fee. The English muffin is to die for and domes from local bakery. We stopped at Oakville Grocery on our way and had a nice little charcuterie in our room to snack on. Highly recommend as a stop for treats it's only 6 minutes away. We walked to dinner at Rutherfords Grill that's just across parking lot. You can easily go to the winery near by as well. Overall we were just two girls having a great road trip but I'd recommend this for honeymoon as or romantic getaway as well. Perfect!!

This was a nice, interesting hotel. Dark brown wood interiors, nice linens, nice bathrooms,…read morerepurposed wood in the doors. For an engineer like me, it was eye candy galore! Conveniently placed between Beau Lieu and a few other wineries in easy walking distance as well. Note: The front door is a Push to open. Walking into the lobby, they have cool water on a sideboard. The pool area has a nicely sized hot tub, and is kept clean and maintained. The room was very spacious, and included a bottle of wine from a local vineyard - that might be because of who we made the reservation with. We had a room which was on the Beau Lieu vineyard side, and they start pretty early in the morning. If you are a wine production geek, you might like this room when they go into harvest and production, since you can sit on the balcony and watch some of the goings on, or hear the bottling and grape presses running. I really liked the bed, it was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and the walk in shower maintained water temperature nicely.

The first and second courses really stood out, especially the risotto, which was truly out of this world. One thing I really appreciated was how seamlessly everything was coordinated. Our party of eight all received our dishes at the same time, which made the experience feel elevated and well thought out. Each dish was carefully explained as it was presented, and anytime we needed anything, the staff was right there to assist. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and added so much to the experience by walking us through each course in detail. The ambiance and view made the evening feel even more special. I was slightly underwhelmed with the lamb main course, as it felt like it hadn't just come fresh off the grill and was a bit cold. That said, by the time it arrived I was already quite full from the earlier courses, so it didn't take away too much from the overall experience. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff made it feel special by bringing out a candle, which was a really nice touch. The nonalcoholic beverages were also excellent. Overall, despite a small hiccup with the main course, the exceptional service, coordination, and earlier dishes made this a wonderful dining experience.
