Had a great 7 day stay at Hotel Victoria. It is a beautul, very clean, and comfortable, Swiss-owned boutique hotel near the Bhorgese gardens. Our spacious room overlooked the Aurelian Wall and had a beautiful view of the Bhorgese landscape. I found the staff excellent, attending to all our needs and questions, helping us find certain pinpoints of interest, calling our driver when required. The stay included a free buffet breakfast, which was very well stocked and had a variety of everything you could imagine. The hotel decor is quaint and carries a nice roman ambience. The rooftop garden is lush and beautiful and boasts a fine-dining area, and a casual bar and bistro on the opposite side, plus a view of the Villa Bhorgese like none other. My only one gripe (not the fault of the hotel) was the one waiter who seemed rather surly when on our first day we wanted to dine up on the rooftop and he kept insisting we move to the casual bistro area (this was lunch time, and we were dressed in business casual attire). Then when i requestedan item on the menu (seafood rissotto) he tried to get me to change my order to sonething else. He kept insisting, but I held my ground, after getting quite angry, and ordered the risotto, which I'm glad I did, because it was very delicious! read more
