Hotel was fine, a bit of a let down for the price as it seemed to be an older hotel that was recently updated and remodeled. But, on that note, it was modern and very clean. It also was very conveniently located and hotel staff were friendly. We stayed in one of the strangely long rectangle-shaped corner rooms on the first level, that other reviewers have mentioned, and it had a small shower and no fridge and not a whole lot of room to move around. (Although there was a little table and chairs set up for eating, working, etc. which was nice.). And, because it was just down the hall from the front desk and janitors'/maids' closet, it was a little loud. We were only here to sleep though, as we stayed here when we went to a concert. If I was staying there and had to work or study or was going to be spending any lengthy amount of time in the room, I would definitely make sure I didn't get one of these corner rooms, especially on the first floor. They have a free hot breakfast which I didn't eat, but my husband did, and said it was good. I think we'd stay here again given how clean and conveniently located it was to the amphitheater, downtown restaurants, gas stations, ect. read more

Three stars for the price... It's pricey for the average hotel yet very clean. My bed was adequate but I wouldn't buy this low end mattress for my home and yet I'm frugal as well. Breakfast is very limited. A quick scan showed a small area of muffins and fruit with a single hot pot of Peet's coffee. It's a tough sell at this price but considering the limited availability and high demand in the area it's better than most. read more

Every hotel room literally in Northern California to the Oregon border was taken, (and I'm not exaggerating) unless I wanted to spend $500 for one bed! No thanks!! Wasn't thrilled about desk employee at check in, she could not direct to me address 3 lots down, by number???? I recently stayed for two nights at this hotel. I booked it through the Hotel Tonight app. Checking in, the front desk agent gave myself and my boyfriend a free upgrade because we waited around 10 mins for our room to be ready. The room itself was really cute and clean. It had a king size bed, mini fridge, microwave with a sink, also had a desk. I think it's been freshly remodeled. Stayed there for 3 nights. Here's what we thought: The good: - It was pretty empty. - They gave us cookies at the frond desk. - There's an on-sight gym (yay). - It's a clean place. - New TVs - Staff is friendly and understanding. - They let us check out a bit later because we took forever to get ready for a wedding. - There's a keurig in the room. - Walls are freshly painted and have an accent color. Very charming. The bad: - No pool. - For the money we paid there really should've been a pool compared to other hotels we've stayed in the area. - The key card hole kept blinking red even though it was technically unlocked. - Had to ask for a second key. Recommend to anyone who wants to work out but doesn't want to dip in a pool or a spa afterwards. read more

Stayed here on Saturday of a 3 day weekend... placed was decently clean with free breakfast. Those are the pros in a nutshell. If you're actually looking to get some shut eye, bring ear plugs or some sort of noise blockers or book somewhere else. Walls are paper thin. We got in super late and apparently the only rooms left were on the 1st floor and we could hear the doorbell (I guess there's a buzzer at night), every single foot step, cough, and x-rated noise imaginable through 3-4 a.m. (not sure why there were so many night owls up on this particular Saturday) that it was impossible to get any sleep whatsoever. Bathroom door also stuck and the bathroom consisted solely of toilet and shower. You had to then open the door and step outside to the sink to wash your hands, which just isn't an ideal set up. read more

Dont do it ! BED BUGS camp out here! I've never had a bad experience staying in a hotel and this was the first. I booked this hotel for memorial day weekend and i read reviews first before booking and thought this would be a legit hotel and we'll priced. I woke up in the middle of the night and started itching. I felt a few bumps and got up and turned on the lights , i woke the boyfriend up and said get up i tore every sheet off that bed. I found 3 BED BUGS. I went down to the front desk at 12:30 am and let them know the problem, i showed them the bugs and the bites on me and they said they would note it in the system for the cleaning service. So we didnt get sleep the rest of the night. Talked to them first thing and said i would not be staying the rest of the time i booked, the girl said we can move you to a different room. I said nope, i cant deal with this . We should have got refunded for the one night. Anyway once you see BUGS you automatically think the place is filthy. Hopefully they get an exterminator out to the hotel. I made sure my clothes that were not unpacked were tightly sealed in a plastic bag because i dont need uninvited guests coming home with me!! read more

The room was pretty nice as far as furniture and cleanliness. And it was cheap. Unfortunately, we got stuck in a broom closet sized room in the corner of the building. It was really narrow and the bathroom had weird windows. Also, the shower head was set way too high for a small shower, so we pretty much had to hug the wall to be under the water. Maybe the other rooms have more space, ours was just uncomfortably cramped. Oh, and the breakfast is bad. Only the bagels were good. And the dining area is too cramped too, so expect to be elbow to elbow with some strangers. read more

Constant noise being placed in 221 right next to the supply closet, maid service banging around, people stomping up and down the stairs it was very aggravating being woken up all night long. I even called the room above us to ask if they were moving furniture around after 45 minutes of additional stomping. So. At 11:12 as we were getting ready to leave, Megan called our room and we said we were a little behind, 10 minutes and we would be down. To which we were told if we weren't out by 1130 we would be charged $99. Wow, no where on your site or booking does it say that. If we weren't so weary and exhausted from a terrible night's sleep we wouldn't have been 18 minutes late checking out. Find a better place that was rude and ridiculous. We casually picked Hotel Vue after using the Hotel Tonight app to fill in a gap in our honeymoon hotel plans. We were immediately impressed by the service we received at the front desk by the female clerk who offered us a beverage and fresh baked cookies. Our room was beautiful, romantic and clean and the whole environment was very modern. When Sammi, the hotel manager, learned that we were on our honeymoon he excitedly started grabbing snacks and sodas off the wall to give to us to make our stay more pleasant. We were also delighted to learn that the hotel offered free breakfast! The food was great and the friendly environment was even better. Good location for freeway access, if your trying to beet traffic. Safer naborhood then most ive stade in. I know this because i work across the street for the past 6 years. And the response time for cops is less then 45 sec. As for the dest lady. She manifested a argument for my lady and I first thing when we walked in the door. It was the weirdest thing ive heard in a while. She said to my lady " did you smack him?" We both looked at eachother and asked we would she smack me? She repleyed with nothing and moved on to checking us in. Thus starting world war 3. So meny thing whent thew our heads,to meny to wright. We just come to the conclusion, she must have been thinking of some one els. But why i wright this is. She might be off her rocker some. So be careful when checking in. I have stayed here several times when visiting Mountain View. Great location with easy access to all freeways. Walking distance to many restaurants and the downtown area. Made reservations based mostly on price (which was fair), given the location (just a couple blocks from the 85 -- eleven minutes south of Google, twelve minutes north of Apple, and thirteen minutes east of our destination). Once there, we saw that it bills itself as a boutique hotel. Asked at the desk what makes it a boutique motel, and no one seemed to know. I don't think that word means what they think it means. Our king room was a bit tight size-wise, especially the entryway, but serviceable. The next time we find ourselves back in that area, we'll go for the bigger room. The appointments were not fancy but mostly they worked, and everything was pretty clean. Seemed not to be many other guests there, so parking was not an issue in any way, shape, or form, despite the fact that street parking disappears early due to other businesses in the area. For being right on the main drag, it was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast buffet seems standard at first glance, but they had pieces of fresh fruit (including some fantastic cut-up strawberries), and pre-made French toast and pancakes. Even their coffee is pretty good. The exercise room is simple but useable, and even features a TRX anchor point in the ceiling, so bring your straps! Didn't check out the guest laundry room, but those staying longer than a couple of nights might find that handy. read more

Hotel Vue is fantastic. The clerk at the desk was so helpful and very kind. The sink in my room started to clog a little bit, and they gave us a new room within minutes! The rooms are very nice and a great bargain for the price. The rooms are roomy and very clean. They have great breakfasts, an abundance of television channels, and the best part: IN EVERY ROOM THEY HAVE A KEURIG CUP MACHINE. For a person that is obsessed with coffee, that is the cherry on top of a great stay. Overall, a great place to stay if you want to college visit at Stanford or if you have a business meeting at Google or Apple. read more

my husband and I stayed here for 4th of july weekend and it was good. our room was a nice size as well as the bathroom. typical hotel which they considered "boutique". this might soumd weird but they do not have vending machines. we were dead thirsty when we got there. especially in july when its hot as heck. we were offered to buy a $3 can of soda or a tiny cup of water at the reception. definitely staying at this hotel again and making sure to stop at a gas station to get us water before checking in. read more

HOLY CRAP. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Was taking a vacation in Sacramento California and popped down to San Jose for the night for a concert. We decided to stay here because it was reasonably priced, was newly finished, looked clean, and looked hip/modern. Don't let all of that fool you... Immediately the first thing we see when at the front desk and checking in is a laminated print that says "no smoking and no parties" which right off the bat put a bad taste in my mouth, like I'm a child who's constantly being watch by my parents and keeping an eye on who I'm bringing back to my hotel room and what I'm doing with who. Excuse me, but I am an adult and I think those two things go without saying but quite an unprofessional sign when I first walk in. Now in my room, they've turned the ac off and it's 85* when arriving. Seriously you've completely turned off the ac in the middle of summer when it's obvious you have customers coming to stay in this room? Its not too much to ask that I'm not melting away when I arrive so it doesn't take me sitting in that heat for an hour until the room cools off to a reasonable temperature. We also notice it's extremely small and does not have a mini kitchenette with a mini fridge for our sodas we brought. Buttt I paid for that and expect that and after complaining we're placed in a different room. I shouldn't now feel like they tried sneaking one over me by not providing amenities I paid for and made sure I had, just assuming I wouldn't notice. A few hours later, needing a restaurant list and extra comforter, the staff expects you to come to them when needing anything. Don't even think about asking for anything, there is zero room service or personal direct customer service of any kind. When asking for the comforter at 1am, I'm told I have to COME DOWN TO THE DESK MYSELF TO GET IT, half naked already in bed. Um excuse me?! Negative. You can bring it to me. I'm asking for an extra linen and it cannot be delivered to my room?! Because the manager was the ONLY person working in the ENTIRE hotel. Thats not my problem. I paid for this room and you're providing a service. Its ridiculous I have to come TO YOU when I need anything. She finally brings it to me (after having to lie that I am not dressed) and it's a mattress topper. She comes back again with the down comforter and it doesnt even have a cover on it (usually to protect the comforter from having to wash every single time it's used.) I provided an in person reveiw to the manager that night on the horrible customer service (or complete lack thereof) but she didn't have much to say. Save your money and book at another hotel, ANY hotel, nice or not would have been better. I would have rather gone to a holiday inn because I would have at least had better customer service. They clearly don't have enough people working for such a hotel with three floors. Or maybe they just don't give a shit about catering to their paying clients. Ps...the "late checkout" is only a 30MIN extension. I've never been so dissapointed by a hotel experience. I don't need much nor ever ask for much and they couldn't even meet that. read more

BEWARE!! DO NOT STAY HERE CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE! I recently booked a room for the night, through the app hotels tonight. They hide the fact that the room is all the way at the end in a closet and under 200sqft. The lady Karen at the front desk was very rude. We checked out within 2 minutes of checking in the room because of how musty, dirty and small the room was. We asked her to help us and didn't mind paying more for any upgrade or any other room even help finding another hotel and refund she said there was nothing she could do and to give back the room keys if we didn't want to stay and we will not be given a refund because we checked in already. Mind you this all happened in less then 5 minutes. I stayed here a while back and the service was great. Not sure if this girl was tired or just always rude but will never stay here again and if they offer you a good price for the night beware they may put you in the closet room. Very accommodating, friendly and most importantly helped keep us within our budget when the room rates had gone up (as they do in Silicon Valley when there are fewer rooms). At first look the hotel seemed decent and modern but after taking a closer look it was anything but that. To me it seemed like they painted over a run down hotel and put flat screens and updated furniture in the rooms. Wall repairs, and cracks in the walls everywhere. I stayed at Hotel Vue for 2 nights..and I was totally impressed by everything the hotel provided .. from phone booking to welcoming me at the reception, the staff was very friendly and customer service was beyond what I have expected.The room was very clean, I really liked the layout of the room. I rarely write Yelp reviews unless they are truly well deserved, and Avi (the General Manager) is AMAZING!! I have been working with him to coordinate large groups staying at Hotel Vue throughout October/November and he has continued to go above and beyond to make accommodations for me. The hotel itself is great, everyone who we have had stay there has had only great things to say. I really cannot express enough how great Avi is - he has been patient with me through any and all road-bumps that my planning has hit including last minute room changes, payment issues, etc. He always responds to my emails right away with any questions, concerns, or bookings that I have. I haven't had much interaction with any of the staff besides Avi, but I have only good things to say about this hotel! read more

I booked a room here for a business trip to Mountain View. 6 people in total from my team booked a room at this hotel for a night. When I arrived, they said that they messed up and that they were actually out of rooms, even though I had a confirmation e-mail proving that I had booked a room. Same thing with 2 of my teammates. They admitted that it was their mistake and that they had overbooked their hotel, but they told us that they couldn't do anything to help us. They told us that we would just have to share rooms with each other (since there were 6 people and 3 of us were left without rooms). We were upset, but begrudgingly decided to share rooms since we had nowhere else to stay and it was already late. So we went to the rooms, but the rooms didn't even have two beds in them. Those of us unlucky enough to get our rooms had to sleep on small, uncomfortable cots instead of beds. After an uncomfortable night where I couldn't get much sleep, I went to talk to the manager in the morning. Instead of being apologetic, he blamed it on the system I used to make the reservations. Please don't stay here - you might not even get your room when you arrive, and the management isn't very helpful or friendly. read more

Stayed her last weekend with my daughters. Close to everything and had free breakfast, breakfast was alright. Room is clean and hot. My room was facing the sun in the afternoon and the curtains did not extend to close to block the sun. I turned the AC in the room but that did not even helped. The price was ok $109/night plus tax. This place has no swimming pool or jacuzzi, very basic, if you need to just sleep and shower that's ok. My lil family and I checked into our room this afternoon! Check in was really fast and the front desk (i think her name was Tatiana) was professional and also welcoming! The hotel seems a bit small from the outside but has alot of character! The gym and laundry room is small but it is better than nothing. We got our room keys and checked in. We booked the Superior 2 Queen bed room and included in the room is a small kitchenette (sink, microwave & mini refrigerator). The bed is really comfortable and our room is a nice size! Better than Motel 6 for sure! They have parking in the front and back of the hotel that is well lit with lights and also has cameras in both parking lots! Been coming the peninsula for Stanford homecoming for the past 2 years. I am usually booking my hotel last minute and either can't find anything in Palo Alto or I don't want to pay the inflated price. I've stayed in my share of these "boutique" redone upgraded motels. I am not too picky. But this place was not that great, and the price at 119 a night wasn't exactly cheap. The A/C sucked. The bathroom is the tiniest I've ever seen. My particular room had no fridge. Some other review mentioned a "great" breakfast? meh. Typical continental breakfast fare with powdered eggs and weird looking bacon. I went down to the Jack in the Box a block away and got a better meal. There are better options on the El Camino strip than this one. The King sized bed was comfortable and the staff was generally nice. But I wouldn't ever go back. read more
