Can't recommend. Stayed here for a few weeks. Seemed nice but couldn't even get towels or trash taken out regularly. Then on the most inconvenient time, on an observed holiday, in the heat.. They want to get in the room for a cleaning and need me to leave while they clean. So I decide to check out instead and they demand to charge me half the price for late check out. You will feel like you over stayed your welcome here..Horrible hospitality. Place is not even that nice. Should treat guests better. read more

Stayed here for work and honestly it was not what I expected based on the pictures. While it's in a quiet area, the place felt old and stuffy overall. The room really needed some updates, the furnishings felt dated and the atmosphere just wasn't comfortable. It wasn't terrible but I wouldn't choose to stay here again unless it gets some improvements. read more

I got a good rate here on a weekend through a third party site, but when I checked in the lady told me there would be an extra $10 parking fee because I had used a third party site. This was not clearly mentioned when I booked the room, so I went back and looked at the extended essay of terms and conditions, and there was a vague reference buried in there about potential parking fees. The parking was in their own hotel lot so it's not like it's special parking. This should be more visible and clear so people aren't surprised. I felt like they just stuck this to me because they could get away with it. The room seemed nice and clean and had a small kitchen. But at night I noticed the too large for the space cheap refrigerator was chuggging away noisily. I had to unplug it just to be able to sleep. Probably would not stay here again. read more

We've been staying regularly at this property for the past dozen years when we go to the area to see our grandchildren. Initially, it was great in all aspects. But over the years, it has gone downhill to the point where I doubt we will stay there again. They have minimized room service and maintenance, and it shows. Our room HVAC system was so noisy, we turned it off at night so we could sleep. The "breakfast" on offer isn't worth the effort: very minimal with very little choice. I just grabbed a couple of cups of coffee and left it at that. Our room "kitchen" offered minimal glassware and other equipment. Carpeting in the hallways are showing wear. I honestly don't think they've spent a dime on the place in the past decade. With the exception of the manager, the staff was indifferent and unfriendly. read more

Pros: I booked two nights at this hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. Quiet, very clean. Never heard any adjacent noise such as toilet flushing, shower running or voices. Comfortable bed. Exceptional staff really make this an incredible hotel stay. Rooms are great, breakfast is wonderful, everyone is friendly.

They to get money out of you anyway possible. 10$ parking 250$ deposit. Then I look and they charged 452.75 not 250. Said it was a third party cost. Seems excessive when I paid 230 for the room on hotel tonight. No reason to take twice the cost of the room in deposits! Now I have to wait 3-5 days to get my money back. Never going back! read more

The hotel itself is alright, but management has been awful. They couldn't find my request for an upstairs room and charged me twice at check in, then we discovered there's not really any AC in the bedroom (the hotel room has a living area with AC, but the bedroom has a tiny hole in the wall for the air to circulate through). Not big deals, so we go about our day. When I got back to the room to sleep, I noticed they only had feather pillows, which I am very allergic to. Called down to ask about an alternative and Sam, the night manager, was awful about it. He claimed to have no idea what kind of pillows these are, and said that in his three years as a manager, he's never been asked. No apology for the inconvenience or anything. I asked for a blanket to roll up as a makeshift pillow for the night and was told I'd have to go get it since nobody is available to bring it. Again, fine, except when I got down, there was someone else working the desk, so it seems like the least they could do would be to apologize for the hassle and deliver the blanket-pillow, rather than be entirely rude about the whole thing. The bed has been fine, the room is hot, and my back/neck officially hurt from sleeping on a rolled up blanket, but overall, I'd not recommend staying here due to the attitude you'll encounter at the front desk, and check your bank statement to be sure they didn't charge you twice. Our stay + deposit meant I'm out an extra $750 for a few days while the bank sorts it out, not ideal on vacation. read more

When I booked a suite at this hotel for a 5-day stay, I thought it was a good deal! When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly staff. Not bad to start my little vacation in the Bay Area after a year of pandemic stay at home order. The suite has a small kitchen with a noisy refrigerator, two stove tops, a microwave, a coffee maker, a few pots and pans, and basic utensils: two cups, two plates, two forks, two spoons, two knives... There were two kitchen towels, a roll of paper towel, and a small bottle of dish detergent! I also got two coffee bags and two teabags! The bathroom supply was frugal: one small bottle of hand lotion, one small bottle of hair shampoo, one small bar of soap, two wash clothes, two hand towels, three bath towels, and one new roll of toilet paper! There was absolutely no room service!!! I hanged the tag "please clean" and was out all day. No one came to clean the room and refill basic needs: soap, coffee bags, teabags... When I called the front desk and made the request of coffee bags and teabags, a staff member delivered two coffee bags and two teabags. I told him to deliver the same daily for the rest of my stay with no vail. The small bar of soap and one roll of toilet paper did last for 5 days for two people, but barely! Surprise! On the 5th day at 8:55 am, a non-English speaking housekeeper knocked on my door. I told her that I was getting ready to leave and do the check out. She didn't understand. I had to get my luggage out to the hall to show her of my intended departure. Then she backed off. It didn't make any sense for the housekeeper to do the room service or refill my coffee bags, soap... on the 5th day - the check out day! Since the check out time was by 12 noon, it didn't make sense for the housekeeper to come before my checkout time and clean the room. There was no breakfast or "smell of warm, chocolate chip cookies" at the end of the hallway or at the lobby as described in the website! One benefit of staying at this hotel is the easy access to freeway 101! read more

Ok, here we go, My mom's home burnt on Aug 12 and i helped my mom get a hotel since the insurance takes time to kick in. So they processed the payment on Sunday August 16 and now the insurance has taken over. I spoke with Sarah the front clerk and she said they would take care of it. I expected a professional and timely matter resolution. 1 month later still nothing. I spoke to Wendy twice and I also called the credit card because According to Sam another clerk it was reimbursed already. By the way Sam was rude and when i went to the lobby myself and another lady of Sams ethnicity approached the front desk at the same time. He took her first when I was already on the right side of the counter needing help. When i let him know what was going on. He said its been taken care of. Its now 2 months and still no resolution. I filed a dispute with my credit card because of the lack of professionalism. The credit card says there is nothing pending as a reimbursement. This is the worst experience at a hotel ive ever had. The people ive spoken about this issue was Sarah 1st point of contact. 2. Wendy 3. Sam and 4th time Wendy again. And finally again today 5th time Wendy once more. Still no resolution. Save your time save your money. The hotel honestly isn't even that nice. My sister chose this hotel. I usually look on yelp to find my places based on reviews. When i walked into the lobby the first thing i noticed was the dollar store valentines decorations which I thought was cute and fun. I soon realized this hotel was gross. They put a duvet under the fitted sheet which made for a really lumpy odd bed. When i took off the sheets to remove the duvet the mattress was stained and yellow. The carpet was old and dirty and tearing apart. The card reader on the door barely worked and it would take dozens of tries and minutes to enter the room. The elevator shook and was jerky. They had a pump container in the bathroom marked "body lotion" that was actually filled with hand soap. This hotel is in desperate need of an update. They will charge you $$150.00 for what their housekeeping management deems "soiled sheets and towels." I was menstruating and they decided my stained linens and towels were unsalvageable. What are towels for? And a heavy flow could seep through a towel onto the sheets. Makes me believe either they're lazy or they don't bother to bleach their linens. This is the first time a hotel has charged me for stained linens. So beware. And careful using the towels for cleaning the kitchen, also. They may charge. Really enjoyed our recent stay at the Larkspur Landing in Sunnyvale over Mother's Day weekend. We needed last minute accommodations and we were able to get a great rate through our Amex card. Check in was easy and front desk staff were so friendly throughout our entire stay. Anytime we walked through the lobby or passed a staff member, we were always warmly greeted. This may seem like such a simple thing, but it's so rare nowadays, especially in busy Silicon Valley. Our room was a small suite that had a complete kitchen with a stove, full fridge, dishwasher, plates, pans and utensils. It was great because we'd brought drinks and snacks with us. The room was clean and well maintained. The room would be perfect for a traveling business person or a couple in town for the weekend. They have continental breakfast in their lobby are in the morning. They usually had 2 egg items, coffee, tea, juice and a good variety of baked goods, cereals, yogurt and fruit. We've been trying to eat healthy and were more than satisfied with their offerings. The hotel is on a very busy street but is in close proximity to many great restaurants and shopping. I used to live in the area so i was pretty familiar with it. It has grown to include many options since I've lived there but you don't have to go far to find what you need. The next time we're in the Bay Area, we will look at Larkspur Landing as our first choice for accommodations. I really enjoyed out stay and am looking forward to our next one. read more

We booked a 2 night stay on hotels.com. Lucy checked us in on Saturday night. She was very sweet and welcoming. Check in went smooth. Our room was perfect. We got a studio suite. Perfect size for us. We had our bed, a small table/desk, small kitchen with dishwater & fridge in our bathroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. In the mornings they have free breakfast. We enjoyed some cereal and bagels. They have different juices, coffee, teas and milk. They also have omelets and muffins. We took some stuff back to our room for later. Our overall experience was great. We enjoyed our stay here. Will consider staying here again if needed. read more

We visited this location a couple of weeks ago. I have also stayed at the Campbell location. Both are dated and rooms are worn. The staff are very nice but we feel we got duped when the website mentions "Newly Renovated Rooms, See the Difference The Next Time you Stay with US" on the top of their website. See the attached pictures. Our room wasn't clean....dust everywhere, the carpet was dirty, and everything was dated and old. Every time I stay here I quickly regret it. There are often times when my goto favorite places in the area to stay are either over priced or sold out so I come here. Never again. First of all, they charge for parking even though I use handicap. They claim every other place in the area charges for parking but it's not true. Nowhere else I've stayed charges for parking. Second, they charge a $250 deposit fee. Which to me is crazy. Why? This place is not updated at all. All the rooms are older although they are decent, still old rooms... so why put up a barrier to stay here? It's definitely not the Hilton. Third, the front desk staff just isn't very welcoming. Every time I walk by I feel like I'm being eyeballed and even though it sounds nice to say, "have a good day" it feels like it's not sincere and they begrudge their customers. Fourth, they refuse to provide a late checkout even for an hour or they will charge you. It's ridiculous because my other regular places always allow for a late checkout. There are a few good things about this place but I would say the bad outweighs the good. I would consider "the grand hotel" or the "Townsend suites (which is also an all suite hotel" or "residence inn"above staying here. read more

Love this place! The rooms are clean, the feather beds are sooooo comfortable, and I love the little kitchen areas. I consider Larkspur my little hideaway when I need to get work done or want to treat myself to a staycation. The internet is free and the breakfast food is decent. I like the small yet efficient kitchenettes. They have dish sofa, dish washer soap, pots, pans, utensils, cooking utensils, glassware, and plates. There is also a dishwasher, stove, sink, and microwave. I also liked the coffee and tea the hotel provides too. There is also an ice machine on the first floor too. I only use the ice machine while I am waiting for my freezer to make ice. It usually takes an hour. Overall, I really like this hotel. It has everything I need for my working staycations. read more

I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel many times and let me tell you it's excellent in so many ways! The manager is top notch and has a staff that makes you feel like you are royalty! I've never had such great customer service at any hotel! The rooms are terrific with full-size refrigerators and separate bedrooms in the executive suites. Very comfortable for cooking your own food and saving money on restaurants! Great in this Covid time! I recently booked a company trip at this hotel. I am very disappointed that I did not feel I was treated fairly amongst other guests. When I checked in, I saw the front desk people handing out "goodies" to their guests who were checking in. The next day, i had to go back to the front desk to ask questions and there I saw them handing out goodies again to guests checking in. I asked them who gets goodies and she (Wendy) said travel guests and I am one of them but I never got handed out the goodies. It seems like she pick and choose the people she feel like handing out the goodies to. When I did go to the front desk for anything she instantly was aggressive this lady has Poor customer service. I was hoping i would want to come back here since I travel for work every week but if I get unfairly treated like this I'll take my business somewhere else and will discourage family and friends as well. Stayed in this hotel for few nights over Labor Day weekend and I was very disappointed of their service. They did not clean our room for 2 nights. We were gone the whole day and had placed the "room service" sign and when we came back it was still up. We had no towels and needed new bedsheets. They were always blaming "COVID" when we called the front desk and housekeeping. Overall the hotel was OK, they had a big fridge and a full kitchen, some dishes, spoons, forks, cups etc. (although I prefer to bring my own). WARNING: Bait & Switch, overkill authorization. Unfriendly management. We booked a room over the phone for me, my husband and 2 yr old son. King bed with a pull out for our son. We told them we would be coming in late ( traveling from Phoenix). Because we arrived after midnight the night manager canceled our reservation. She said you can have a queen without a pullout. If you need a decent place to stay you may want to try Larkspur Landing in Sunnyvale. Only stayed one night so can't tell you anything about customer service or housekeeping. What I can tell you for $72/night you get free parking(there's plenty), free Continental breakfast (it's free so what more could you want), and nice clean room equipped with mini kitchen and king size bed. It's close to the light rail so you can save on parking if you take the light rail places, I will check my card statement in a few days to see if any shady transactions with the deposit occurred as stated in other posts and will adjust my review accordingly. read more

I normally don't give 1 star reviews, but Lucy really earned this one. I booked a room for one of my employees via Hotwire and made the mistake of not putting his proper name down. My bad, no problem. However, when I called in she decided to fill my ear with her obnoxious voice. She could have told me in a normal tone, but decided to basically give me a harsh attitude and proceed to lecture me and show me how much she hates life. Worst of all, she let my employee wait outside and wouldn't even let him in. Poor guy drove up 6 hours from so cal and it would have been nice to be treated with some respect and kind service. I don't think that's too much to ask. Again, I made the mistake of not putting the correct name, just to be clear, but it could have been handled in a nicer way. Nobody is trying to get into an argument with you at 1130pm. We're all just trying to get on with our lives. If you hate life so much, why work in hospitality? Please do yourself a favor and find something you can be happier doing. read more

BEWARE!! This hotel charges your credit card for Bogus claims! While visiting with my family this hotel claimed they found evidence of us smoking in the room!! Us being me a smoker who ALWAYS goes outside to smoke & uses designated smoking areas, my husband who doesn't smoke, and my 10 year old daughter! We travel at least 2 times a month & stay at many hotels & have NEVER had any problems like this!! They charged my credit card $250 claiming that they have so called evidence (and have yet to send me or my credit card company any proof). I've hired an attorney & will definitely be getting my money & then some back for having to deal with this nonsense! I'm most angry with the fact that I have to deal with this in the first place!! So please be warned that this hotel can & will charge your credit card dishonestly!!! Then you will have to spend your time getting your money back!! Update*** After my attorney sent them a letter of demand they backed down & I was able to have my credit card credited back for their bogus charges. Let me start off by saying there is a right and wrong way to address something and your staff on the afternoon of 8/1 did not represent your company properly. I was a guest at this location and my truck unfortunately broke down and I could not get a tow yesterday after waiting for 3 hours I couldn't get a tow so I attempted to get it towed again today. It took me five hours which is not your fault but the lack of empathy shown by your staff was appalling. A shorter Hispanic female worker approached me and at first offered the companies private tow company which then turned into her threatening to have me towed if I was still there at 6pm. I told her I was waiting for a tow truck and how long it was taking. She had the audacity to tell me AAA Is fast and it doesn't take that long and she could have me towed in 20 minutes at my own expense. If she would have treated me like a human and just what's going on then I wouldn't feel compelled to write this review and tell people in my network to never stay there again. I could understand if the parking lot was full and you needed it for new guests however, it was empty which could be another indicator of the service provided at this location. My company put me at Larkspur Landing for a month when they relocated me from Austin. I liked it there so much that I considered just living there long-term. LOL, but of course that could get kindda expensive... The staff all knew me by my first name and they were always helpful and courteous. The free breakfast was dope, pretty damn good Coffee for a motel bar. Oh and the coffee is free all day too, which is great coz I'm kindda a caffeine addict. I had a pet with me and they were able to arrange an exact time and day to service my room so I could go walk him when they were in the room. It worked out well. There was a problem with the direct billing and they were able to take care of it right away. Only complaint, I guess, is the lack of a swimming pool and the workout room was a bit of a joke. Only stayed for one night but I loved my suite. Really felt like a home away from home with its apartment-like setup. Very clean and cozy. Free parking, free wifi, free breakfast. The only downsides were that the shower water pressure was really low and they never refilled the omelettes at the breakfast bar :(. The staff was great. The breakfast was a great selection. Everything was very neat & clean. Nice rooms. Plus FREE parking. My reason for the low rating though has to do with their beds and one other item. When I stay at a hotel it is generally always for pleasure, so I like to make sure I am going to get a good nights sleep. I do plenty of reading on a hotels site, before making my decision. After reading Larkspur's writings about their feather tops, etc, as well as reviews I decided to give Larkspur a try. Boy was I disappointed. I paid almost $180 for 2 nights of very uncomfortable, restless sleeping because the bed was not just firm, but hard. The feather top was less than an inch thick. I put the comforter under the sheets in hopes of adding extra cushion, but that didn't help. What a bummer! My other reason for the low rating was the fact that their elevator certificate or whatever you want to call it expired in April. That concerns me, as I know that this should be taken seriously. There are major fines for not following the rules & making sure your equipment is up to par. That in and of itself let's me know that someone doesn't take my safety or the safety of other customer's seriously. It is because of us they have business in the first place. Also hope nothing happens to you while there. I burned my finger while there and they didn't even have any ointment, aloe vera or anything to help me. I ended trying and using toothpaste, which BTW really helped:) With that said I do not plan on staying at another Larkspur hotel again. read more

Larkspur has no interest in cancelling the booking and made me pay in full for big nights. Extremely rude staff who immediately turned me away because I didn't have a credit card on hand for the $250 deposit (which was not mentioned until I tried to check in) and couldn't even take down a back up card number via phone. They also told me they couldn't cancel my reservation or refund me the money already charged to my account and I would have to call expedia to cancel without a refund. Instead of sympathizing with an extremely frustrated, travel-weary potential guest and offering solutions, they just stood there repeating the same useless information and copping an attitude. At least expedia the company I booked with switched me to a different hotel for no extra cost, were extremely apologetic and sympathetic, and left me with a $25 credit to my next trip for the inconvenience. If the Larkspur staff had suggested that I could possibly get my reservation switched to a different hotel by calling expedia or even offering me a phone, an apology, or a manager to speak with I would probably have brushed this situation off and booked with them again in the future. Unfortunately the staff didn't so much as say a word to me as I walked out of the lobby after an hour of trying to figure this out sans their help, so goodbye Larkspur, offense taken. read more
