Staffing is the major reason for the low rating. They say the hotel is fully booked, but no one is ever around. They say they can't check you in early as the room is not yet ready, but you don't see cleaning staff when walking the floors. I'm not sure if management is toxic, but the staff is obviously not happy working there and don't know the first thing about customer service. The hotel is very convenient for weddings at Park Winters, but don't expect the same level of service at this hotel as you receive during the wedding. There are nice people in Winters - just not at Hotel Winters. read more

Swing and a big miss. We booked this hotel because it was close to wine tasting and local bars. The day that we checked in we called to see if it was possible to check in early. They said we could check in 30 minutes early. We showed up to check in and the clerk indicated there was a glitch with the package we had booked. We were supposed to have a credit at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was closed due to staffing shortage issues. The hotel said they would give us a 20% discount on the room. No big deal we can eat at one of the more established restaurants nearby. I should point out there were no signs posted about the restaurant being closed when we checked in. We went to the room, put our luggage away and went downstairs to meet friends. We stopped by the front desk to find out what time the rooftop patio opens up. The desk told us the rooftop patio was closed due to the restaurant (which is on the ground level) didn't have staffing for the rooftop. I asked what that restaurant had to due with the roof. I was told the restaurant operates the rooftop patio. We had told our friends about the rooftop patio and the plan was to go up there and enjoy the patio and views. No signs posted at this time about the rooftop patio being closed. We went out enjoyed the local establishments and had a good time. The room was warm so I turned on the a/c. I set the a/c to 61. The room never got below about 74 degrees. We found it cooler to actually open the window. That was fine until the traffic noise picked up between 5am & 6am. I shut the window and the room quickly heated up again. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not so comfortable. The bathroom was large and well appointed. Only problem was the bath towels were on the other side of the bathroom and not close at all to the shower. The hand towels were next to the shower. Doesn't do much good. I suggest the hotel let one of the local restaurants take over food service operations and the rooftop patio. The local restaurants are more dependable than the staff that currently operates the in-hotel restaurant. Overall I would say, save your money and stay in Vacaville. The hotels are just as nice in Vacaville, more dependable and you can count on them having sufficient staffing and not having to alter your plans. I should point out that by morning there were signs posted by the elevator that the rooftop patio was closed and a sign by the entrance of the hotel that indicated the restaurant was closed. How does a restaurant not have staff for Easter weekend. Is this what visitors can expect on any given holiday weekend? By the way no discount showing on my bill either. Hotel Winters exceeded all my expectations! Though I was traveling for business, it felt like I was at a resort! My room was spacious and clean and just felt so luxurious. The staff was absolutely wonderful from checking me in, quickly answering any questions, providing recommendations, and possibly allowing for the smoothest checkout ever. Pretty, new and very clean BUT there is no pool! There is a water feature with about 1 foot of water and the front desk said we could utilize it but there's not even any pool lounge chairs near it. It seemed very awkward to even put our feet in it. The spa looks very nice but has Napa Resort prices. And for that reason, we won't be back. read more

Being on Quarantine from Covid the last few months, my husband and I decided we needed a night away. We live right near Winters and thought we would give this hotel a try. We loved it, it was perfect. We got takeout and cocktails from the Italian restaurant in the hotel and we took it outside. The patio area is beautiful, music was playing. The fountain looking thing is actually a "cool off, wading pool" So we took our shoes off, grabbed our drinks and sat down with our feet in it. It was very relaxing. Parking was not an issue at all.(It was however a Tuesday night and Covid is happening) But most hotels these days parking is an added $25.00 or more. I like that parking is free. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and spacious. The only thing that I would suggest is that the bed have two night stands. I slept on the side with the night stand, so my husband had no where to put his glass of water or phone. We used a AAA deal, very reasonable, perfectly priced. We will definitely be back. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed and frustrated in this hotel's lack of customer service. I have left SEVERAL voicemails each with the Rhonda the front desk manager, and Guysell the general manager as I had a reservation issue I was trying to iron out for several of my guests who have booked or attempted to book for my daughter's wedding. Nobody ever called me back! Management just doesn't care to help much less return a phone call out of common courtesy even if they can't help! At least put me in contact with someone else that can! The people at the front desk don't seem to be much help either. They don't seem to know what's going on. It's just kind of an overall feeling that the management team here is NOT about delighting a customer or about maximizing bookings for this hotel which is what I was trying to do! I would much rather be posting a favorable glowing review as I will for Park Winters, but sadly this is the impression these people give. I inquired months ago about setting up an Easter brunch for all of my guests but I was told that the only Easter brunch was in Carboni's restaurant and we could not reserve a table for 30 people. They told me everyone had to do individual reservations. Unfortunately when my guests showed up Easter morning to go to brunch, the restaurant was closed! We were told then that there was NO Easter brunch! Oddly enough they were getting reminders the day before from OpenTable about their reservation. Unbelievable! Because I was told I could not arrange an Easter brunch for my guests, I ended up leaving early in the morning to head home to set up an Easter brunch for my guests at my own house. Only to find out that morning that another wedding party had a private Easter brunch in a conference room. What the hell?!!! Beautiful Park Winters is probably held hostage to this crappy service as it's the only hotel at this time in Winters that they could recommend. Fortunately, a new hotel is opening in May 2022, unfortunately not in time for us. If you're planning a wedding or event at Park Winters... Absolutely 100% go for it! It is above and beyond amazing service and gorgeous property. But please plan on staying elsewhere. Hotel Winters is a beautiful hotel but they just don't have their act together. read more

We love Hotel Winters! The rooms are beautiful and the staff members are very helpful. Recently I held my daughter's shower in their ballroom. I worked with Vicky, the event coordinator of the hotel, who was absolutely amazing. Vicky understands the importance of her customer's needs. The best part about working with her is that she always had "yes" instead of "no" in her responses. This is very important because there was never a fight in getting anything accomplished. Vicky had this venue covered from the meat/cheese tray that was sat in front of each guest to having the best mimosa bar with fresh fruit and an assortment of juices. From the reservation person, check in, staff moving about cleaning to the server in the hotel restaurant - all were fantastic & professional! Upon arrival, we encountered a disappointing interaction with the front office manager, Capri. Her rude and dismissive attitude, along with her lack of willingness to accommodate our request for an early check-in, left a negative impression on us. At first she said the room was not ready and it was about 1:30PM, but then she said she did have one available... Seems as if she was lying at first. It also appeared as though she was uninterested in assisting us, as she was preoccupied with her phone when we approached her. Capri's behavior, including eye rolling and interrupting my husband, was unacceptable, especially considering the price we paid for our stay. Despite this, we were pleasantly surprised by the housekeeping manager's prompt and attentive service when we requested extra towels. The contrast between the two experiences was stark. Furthermore, we were taken aback to see staff members, including Capri, seemingly partaking in drinks while on duty at Carbonis, which was disappointing and unprofessional for a high-end hotel. We urge the head manager to address this issue promptly. read more

Really, the only thing this hotel has going for it is that it is new or I would give it only 1 Star for the value. My wife and I are locals to the area and decided to give our hotel a try for Valentine's Day. My wife wanted to upgrade to a 'suite.' What a joke for the price. Don't bother. We stayed in Bodega Bay last week with a true one bedroom, ocean front suite and indoor fireplace, heated pool and Jacuzzi, outdoor fire table with ocean views, and a free continental breakfast for LESS money than Hotel Winters. Our room was north of $550 after taxes here for one night--for Winters. The claw-foot bathtub in the suite is for really tiny people--children perhaps. The only difference between the suite and standard room is a couch, a '2'x5' balcony' and maybe an extra 30 sq.ft. Our balcony over looked the Winters Industrial area--an auto shop, tow yard, and parts store was directly across the street and a tractor trailer storage pad was kitty corner--just a really run-down eye-sore view. The balcony is not a place you would ever think of hanging out on. Honestly, visiting another room some friends were in, the suite didn't feel any bigger. The courtyard seemed cute. To get a courtyard side room, that is an extra $100 and up. When we booked our room at about 7:00pm, we came back to enjoy some adult beverages by the fire table in the courtyard, only to have the propane run out on the one table in operation out of 6. When we asked to have them refill it we were told engineering doesn't work at night and if it was out, then it was out. It was only 7:30pm on a Friday night--Valentine's Day. Really? Also, for the price, there are no frills at all. No breakfast. No coffee. You have to take a walk through town for those. Limited towels in the room. No pool, no Jacuzzi. There is a massage and spa business downstairs that is also at an exceptional extra cost that you can add to your outrageous room cost. There is an exercise room, but it is tiny and limited. Winters has some great restaurants with good value. It still does not have a great hotel, which is really unfortunate. Better to stay in the next towns, Davis or Vacaville, for a third of the price and 20 minute drive. read more

Unfortunately the gym and rooftop lounge were closed due to COVID, but I believe the spa is open. The hotel is located in downtown Winters so restaurants and bars are walking distance. Ok it is a beautiful hotel, it is still going through construction so why the low rating? There is totally inadequate parking! It's public parking so hotel guest or in our case guests coming for a dinner event have no parking availability and are forced to search for parking in dark residential neighborhoods. We had to evacuate during the Lightning Complex Fire, but didn't want to go too far - Fortunately, Hotel Winters was right there and still had a couple of rooms left, even though we were late to arrive and there were a handful of other people there. The young man staffing the front desk was great - understanding, seemed to work well under pressure and with emotional/stressed evacuees, and very empathetic and friendly. I wish we would have stayed under better circumstances, but even so, the hotel was beautiful, clean, practically SOUND PROOF WALLS (didn't realize that was a thing for almost any hotels these days!), and I don't know what brand their beds and pillows are but they are SO comfortable. read more

The Hotel. The Hotel is beautiful and I would say for geing located in Winters (which is pretty small town) pretty luxurious for its location. Becuase it's a newly built/renovated hotel everything is extremely clean. The Room: I stayed on the third floor in the Deluxe King Suite. The room was very spacious in both the living room and bed room. The bathroom was spotless and has a beauiful clawfoot tub which got some good use. At the time of this post they did not have Food room service but will be offering it in the future. Becuase the hotel is right downtime there are places within short walking distance to eat even the well known resturant of Winters which is the Buckhorn Steakhouse. The Staff. The staff were amazing and very helpful for any needs that I may have had, which actually were not much but they were nice and great to talk to. Overall Overall I would definitely recomend this hotel. Although at the time of this post it does not have ementies such as dinning it's still a comfortable and cozy place to stay. read more

It's got a great location in Winters, all those one thing to caution is that the restaurants close early so be sure to dine early or you will be shut out and have to drive to Napa or Vacaville. Very nice hotel, was clean, had an attached restaurant, outside patio and roof top bar lounge ( roof top was not open on Monday and Tuesday night). It appears to be only a couple years old. This hotel is trying but it is just not there yet. No tv because the receptionist could not find anyone to connect the room specific WiFi so we could connect our iPhones to stream our favorite shows. Yes you have to use your app subscriptions, no other access. No mini bar. No complementary water bottles. Rooms feel unfinished. 4 star prices for a 3 star hotel. It is new and clean. I would recommend staying in Davis or Vacaville for less. Better yet there are some nice Airbnb's in the area. read more

It was an extreme pleasure working with Karla to organize my hotel block for my wedding. We received an excellent rate and she was extremely helpful and answered to all my inquiries and any changes promptly. My entire bridal party and almost all of my wedding guests stayed overnight for one to two nights and every single person loved the hotel and their rooms. My guests stayed in the Winters Signature King and Winters Signature queen bedrooms. I had an opportunity to see both rooms and they are extremely spacious, clean and modern. My husband and I stayed in the bridal suite and it was gorgeous. They even left us a beautiful note, wine, sparkling water and snacks. The staff throughout our stay was incredible and all of my guests and bridal party said the same. There was not one single complaint about this hotel. As a matter of fact, many of them, including my husband and I plan on returning in the future. We all enjoyed our stay! Another thing to note is that the hotel is close to restaurants and bars. Great renovations, great settings, but damn did they screw us over!!! My wife and I wanted a one day mini vacation for Valentine's Day. First night leaving the kids at home! Winters is close enough to home to feel safe, but a night away from home. Perfect for Valentine's Day. We initially booked with Travelocity, but needed to change dates. Hotel Winters couldn't do it, so I had to try to change the date through Travelocity. They couldn't change it, so I just cancelled it and booked a room through Hotel Winters for 2/18. All set, right? Well...we showed up and they said we didn't have a room reserved. After doing some research, we saw that the night we reserved the room (2/11), they actually booked us for that night, not the 18th. My CC was charged and a confirmation was sent, but I figured that was for our day on the 18th. The lady at the counter admitted their website was, "glitchy" and had made some errors. The manage comes over and stresses how important it was for us to be happy and offered to reserved another room for us and would give us a "great discount." She gave us a $170 room for what we paid for the original room ($143). Sounds great right? That's $143 ON TOP OF the $143 we already spent. We got totally screwed. They wanted to charge us twice for a mistake made by their system. Why would we book a room for the same day? They are so close minded and couldn't look objectively. They kept pointing at the computer screen saying, "You booked here." No...we didn't. That's when we reserved the room for the 18th. I'm so tired of shitty customer service. This was a total joke. We got SCAMMED out of $143, didn't have a room, and left feeling totally beat up. Stay away. There isn't a small town feel to this hotel. It's typical corporate style greed. read more

This is a new hotel that on the surface is beautifully done. Rooms are clean, not too small (but not large either). Property is aesthetically pleasing in spite of the unappealing surroundings (auto garage, dirty alley). However, it provides a 2-star experience for 4-star prices. We stayed hear for one night (Friday) and were awakened at 12:30am by incessant drunken yelling, door slamming, and laughing in the hallway. We called the front desk to complain and were told we were the second complaint they received that night (why does it take two complaints for you to intervene?). In spite of the staff's attempt to intervene, the group continued to be disruptive until past 3am. When we complained again at checkout, we were told it's hard to intervene in these situations. If this hotel is going to continue charging $400+ per night they are going to have to learn how to intervene in these situations, especially since this is the clientele drawn to Winters. Maybe similar to the $500 smoking fee, they could institute a $500 noise disruption fee, as well as educate guests about quiet hours. Adding to the 2-star experience, was the depressing breakfast "cafe", consisting of the saddest previously frozen & barely baked "pastries". In sum, not even close to being worth the money you will spend to stay here. And thanks management for following up with an apology for a night of lost sleep (that was sarcasm). read more

Booked on overnight stay from June 16th-17th at the Hotel Winters online through agoda.com. It's a good stay. The hotel is nicely decorated, the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, Hotel Winters wrongfully charged me multiple times and had a growing deposit which led to my account overdrafting more than once. It was frustrating and I had to monitor these charges with my bank for the two weeks following. I found it odd considering I booked a room through an online travel site. The first charge was a deposit/hold of $225 and some change. This seemed reasonable as most places would hold at an amount like this, although staff at the front desk when I checked in on the 16th said they didn't hold an amount. I checked out on the 17th and asked for a receipt which indicates no charges were made. $0.00 balance. When I checked my account there was a charge of $116.25 from Hotel Winters. On Friday June 20th another charge from Hotel Winters appeared in the amount of $169.84 and the hold was still on my account which had grown to $562 and some change. It's a nice stay but I am not pleased by these charges. It's very upsetting to see my money being taken. Will I stay here again? No. It's not worth the headache and hassle. read more

I don't know where to start. Ok so it's a new hotel cool but they don't seem to be ready for the public. The lobby is nicer then the rooms. They are still working on the restaurant that is connected to the hotel. Bummer. The outdoor area is nice no pool just a huge backdrop of a waterfall. Lame. The rooms are plain doesn't feel comfy or cozy. Whoever dId the interior decoration didn't put much thought into it. The room we were staying in wasn't clean just because it's a new hotel doesn't mean you should skip the cleaning. Lol. No blackout curtains dang even motel 6 has them. They should of provided a microwave or some type of voucher from the many places to eat there. The only thing that sounded cool was the rooftop bar area. We might check it out once it opens. If it ever does. Overall I feel like they are trying to bite more then they can chew. A fancy hotel with bare minimum amenities. Yikes. read more

Stayed there one night for my birthday. There was a mixup with the reservation, however the lady that checked us in was not only able to sort it out, but gave us a great rate as well! We had dinner at the restaurant and our server went the extra mile for us, a perfect meal. When we got back to our room there was a lovely surprise at the door. A birthday care package complete with champagne, chocolates and snacks! All in all a fabulous place, we will definitely return! read more

The services were understandably lacking considering being understaffed. I hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner & paid for 4 hotel rooms for 2 nights resulting in spending a large amount of money. There was no housekeeping services available for stay overs, which was not an issue, since I had the "do not disturb " sign on the door for our entire stay. When I checked out I requested a printed invoice for all 4 rooms. There was a 500.00 smoke damage charge on my room. We do not smoke & no housekeeping services had been in our room. Ultimately the manager & housekeeping executive determined that it was the prior guests & the charge would be reversed. When I checked my American Express online account, it hadn't been initiated 2 days later. In addition each room had an additional 200.00 charge over & above the group rate. I disputed these charges with AE, & was told by representative that there was also an additional charge of 300.00 on the day of checkout. They couldn't determine the reason. I emailed the manager & housekeeping manager regarding these inappropriate charges. When the manager called back she stated that the additional charges were for incidental charges, but we're actually in the event of room damages. I never have heard of this policy in the hundreds of hotels I have stayed in all over the world. I am now in the process of disputing over 1100.00. I requested the name of the owner of the hotel & was told that it was unknown & this was a third party management company. This was a huge disappointment with frustrating incompetence . I will continue to partner with my c/c company & not be taken advantage of. This is a "high end" hotel with no competition as there are no other hotels nearby. read more

My husband and I wanted to experience Hotel Winters so we spent an evening there for our anniversary. The restaurant, spa and rooftop lounge were not completed yet so we did get a very reasonable rate. Everything was new and beautifully designed and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Comfortable bedding, rainfall shower, Keurig coffee maker, thirsty robes and towels and the room was very spacious for a less expensive king classic room. Water feature on the patio is lovely. Close to the best downtown eateries, and the hotel even gave us generous vouchers for meals and wine tasting. We felt like we were on vacation! We had the most relaxing stay for a birthday girls night. With Covid we were not sure how to celebrate our birthday girl and this was hands down beyond amazing! We all got spa treatments at the hotel and we all had the most amazing services! The staff was WONDERFUL! We can't wait to go back and book another massage and facial! Dinner was so delicious and the cocktails were impressive! We ate out in the beautiful courtyard and the staff was so accommodating and set up heaters and a fire table for us! It was so nice! The rooms were huge and absolutely gorgeous! We had an amazing view of the beautiful pool and courtyard! The beds were SO comfortable we all slept so good! We didn't want to go home!
