The easiest 5 star review I've ever left. The friendliest people you'll ever meet walking into an establishment. The way they take time to think about every single ingredient going into a cocktail or their food offerings. An extremely nice place to take a date, or your family where you can feel relaxed and accepted, yet not lacking in a beautiful atmosphere. I've met some of my closest friends here! My favorite signature cocktail is the mango jalapeño which they thankfully sell in 4 packs and they taste just as good as if they were made fresh. I'm not scared to try drinks made with liquor that I normally wouldn't drink as they are so scientific about the ingredients going into the cocktail that it flows so nicely! They've turned me back onto whiskey just with how delicious it is. Stopped by here after a rainy day of walking the dogs. I called to see if they had a covered patio so we could do a tasting. He said that they do but probably not too pleasant because of the wind. He said well behaved dogs welcome inside. What a gem! Very welcoming boutique style tasting room. We got a flight of whiskey and also vodka and rum. You can mix and match up to seven I believe. The host was very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. We also tried the fried raviolis, delish and the seasoned fries. Those were just okay. Needed morel seasoning. Would definitely recommend . The quality of the spirits offered is on its way, but not quite to a professional standard yet, IMO. The vodka was incredibly sweet, the gin tasted overwhelmingly flowery and soapy, and the whiskeys lacked any significant mouthfeel or depth. They are in their beginning stages and if the family working this craft continue to refine and develop, I have no doubt they will improve and become better, they just weren't there yet. However, while the spirits alone might still yet be lacking refinement, the cocktails they crafted were quite delicious! I wish this place would get a bar license so you could stay and have more than two cocktails. Those were very tasty, especially the cucumber gimlet! If I could give a separate rating for the service and hospitality alone, I would easily give 5-stars. The place is clean, well-decorated, and thoughtfully laid out to meet both liquor laws while still welcoming families. The patio is very nice and well shaded. Indoors is a beautiful layout of tables and swag. I love how you can see the distillery equipment and process through the giant glass window behind the counter. Flights of six 1/4 oz. pours are currently $10 and you can choose from over a dozen different spirits. If you buy a bottle (believe me, you'll want to!), the flight fee is waived. Not only do they produce amazing gin, rum, vodka, and whiskeys, but they have a wonderful selection of handcrafted cocktails made from their own spirits - simple, classic, seasonal, and daily specials, also for around $10 each. The vibe is excellent and family friendly, with an outdoor patio and plenty of indoor seating as well. They're serving food now, too, but as we were only there for drinks I didn't get to try it out. Patio29 is unique in so many ways as well as a change of pace with all of the breweries and wineries in the area. As a family-owned business, you're likely to meet at least one member of the Boone family when you visit. They're delightful and along with knowing how to make quality spirits, really understand quality service and making patrons feel comfortable. A big plus for many of us - they are dog friendly! As for those spirits, everything Patio29 creates is small-batch and locally resourced. It's worth trying everything, but chances are you already know whether you enjoy whiskey, gin, vodka or rum before you walk through the door. So you won't go wrong by skipping the tasting flight and going directly to the amazing cocktails (be aware, you are limited in how much you can be served). We stopped in to use a gift certificate and we were immediately greeted by Anita, one of the owners. We were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves on a Friday at 5:00 since this hidden gem is still largely undiscovered. She was awesome! She talked us thru their history, the story behind how patio 29 came to be and told us about each of the spirits we tasted. My wife and I are both whiskey drinkers so we opted for the 3 tastings of the whiskeys they currently have on menu: the capitol blended whiskey, the orange Harmon's Hot Pix and the cinnamon Harmon's Hot Pix. (For more on why it's called Harmon's Hot Pix you'll have to visit the distillery) They were all delicious. The capital blend was perfect straight up. We took a bottle to go so we can try it in our favorite cocktails. The orange and the cinnamon were big surprises. They both smelled great and had a very balanced flavor. When you hear cinnamon whiskey what do you think of? Fireball, dive bar, hangover from hell? Yea me too but not Patio 29's. None of that at all. It's a smooth subtle cinnamon flavor that's very drinkable but still tastes like whiskey. Personally I think it would be a great nightcap. The orange tastes like it would be great in an old fashioned, on the rocks or mixed with a little water or soda water. Overall I highly recommend paying them a visit. They have a great space for hanging out and tasting and the walls have historical photos and informational stuff about different spirits and how they're made. Bonus view from the bar is thru large windows into their warehouse space where you can see the stainless tanks and stills that do all the magic(plus the rest of the family hard at work). I can't wait to go back and especially to try out their bourbon and rye whiskey that should be out later this year. We drove up to Winters one Sunday to get out for a bit. I had previously told my boyfriend about this place and that they started making made hand sanitizer. So he wanted to stop and check it out. I thought they had walk in and order to go. But it is call in orders with curbside pick up. The staff was so nice they walked out to our car and took an order from us. The man that came to our car gave me a run down of what they had and recommend a few spirits to us. I took his recommendation of the black cherry whiskey. It is so delicious! My first spirits distillery experience was top shelf (Haha)! Seriously good spirits in ETOH and vibe! Every one I tasted I really liked even the rum. Vodka, Gin (I rarely drink), Bourbon, and Rye Whiskey all smooth & complex for being young. The family/owners make the experience even better with their story, history, and clear love for one another. Adam was so knowledgeable & into his craft. Anita was such a kind and on top of it coordinator. Spot is beautifully decorated & clean operation that has great potential for growth and longevity. Read about this place opening up in Sac Business Journal and as a whisky fan decided to check it out. The space is well-lit, clean, and is big enough to host several gatherings. Because this was my first visit I opted for the flight. Starting off with the vodka I was amazed at how smooth and tasteful it was, detecting the locally sourced grains and seeing how it all blended together while balancing out the boozy-alcohol taste you get with some vodkas. And I wasn't even here for the vodka. Same goes with the gin -- not a fan, but was impressed that the gin didn't go overboard on the juniper. Eric, the server, told me that a lot of dry gin does this and it was great trying out a type of liquor that I wouldn't normally go for. The whiskys were the reason I was here and their blend is just as smooth and balanced as the other offerings. Since they're new they're having to blend with other proprietary blends, but they mix in a few tricks of their own to come up with a good whisky. Give them time and I'm sure they'll be putting out a bunch of cool stuff. The orange and cinnamon whiskys were not my favorites, but that wasn't because they didn't taste good. They're distilled to be cocktails-in-a-can, so you'll get a lot of mixer-like juiciness already in the bottle. They're good to go over ice without adding anything. I imagine I'll have to be in the mood to have one of these, but if you want something that does it all straight from the bottle with no mixer, then try these out. If I HAD to pick a favorite it would be the orange. Their orange whisky is their sleeper hit. The rum was also smooth, balanced, and had the right amount of fiery spice. I'm not much of a rum drinker and my experience with them is very limited, but this was a rum to drink by itself. Walked out with two bottles: whisky and vodka. Took a sip from each this afternoon and they're just as good now as they were then. They have a short cocktail list (which they can do mocktails for if you want to go that route), but I didn't try any this time. Overall, good place and I will return. Their atmosphere is very inviting, their staff is great, and the spirits they serve are excellent. I hope this place does some great things in the future. The only thing I don't have much patience for is the commute from Sacramento. Getting to Winters is a pain with all the switching between roads and freeways. Fortunately, this trip was paired with a visit to Berryessa Brewing down the street. They're right off the 505, but the Sacramento crowd is going to have to go through some twists and turns to get here. But if you want to support a great local business that is coming up with decent spirits then give this place a try. read more

Great Family owned small batch distillery putting out quality whiskey. (The gin is probably good too but didn't have a chance to taste). One thing that you have to try while your there is the Orange Whiskey. It's like an Old Fashioned in a bottle with all of the flavor and none of the sugar.
