OMG! After returning from a recent business trip to Tampa, Florida, I discovered a dead battery in my 2014 Ford F-150. It was only 5-days since I last drove it! With my limited troubleshooting skills, I figured it had to be a bad battery or the fact I was driving a Ford. Either way, I knew the solution was to visit Steve and Tim at HotShots. Pro Tip 1 - if you have a battery manufactured in Korea, it's questionable how long it will last in our Colorado environment. It may last a year or 2, it may last 5 days. Good luck. Steve tested my battery and determined it wasn't the fact that I was driving a Ford. Whew. (Dodged a costly bullet there.) Using cutting edge, state-of-the-art technology, Steve hooked up this alien-looking handheld device to my Korean battery (unproudly installed by CarMax ) and started pressing buttons in a specific sequence as if he were launching ICBM's back toward Korea. Next thing you know, a single piece of paper spit out - you need a new battery dude. Sure, I could have probably used a defibrillator and got back on the road. The reality though, when will this happen again and where will I get stranded next time? DIA? My driveway? Starbucks? Casa Bonita? In conclusion, Steve (and Tim) shoot straight with you and provide automotive facts to repair your vehicle. They have all the iPads, software, handheld devices with 10-foot cords to diagnose which seat was last farted in. Seriously. Ha. Thanks HotShots! read more

Integrity, Integrity, Integrity. Long story short is I bought an awesome old Dodge Ramcharger from Steve at Hot Shots. When I came down to pick it up he had filled it up with gas (first miracle) but the gas tank leaked when full. He said he couldn't in good conscious sell it to me and would fix or replace. Almost impossible to find a new tank so he did his best to fix it with products he had good luck with. Came to pick it up again and by the time I got home it was leaking again. Called Steve and he said bring it back. Finally found a used but non leaking tank that he tested, paid for and installed. (second miracle) Not only did he do all this for no charge but he replaced the fuel pump, filter and gaskets while he was at it. I told him I would like to pay, he said no. (third miracle) Finally, also at no charge he performed a four wheel alignment. (4th miracle) So, I'm not saying that Steve does things for free but I am saying that he stands by his work and anything he may be selling. He has years of experience as a mechanic, service writer and business owner. His shop is spotless, his employees are polite and professional. Recently had a near flat on my boat trailer tire. Drove to the gas station to air up, but when I arrived the tire was flat and the sidewall gone.
