Apparently one of the bolts had seized, so it took him a few hours to take off the rack. The shop had replace some hoses, replace the fluids checked everything twice. Absolutely, for free. They referred us to the Kia dealer, which I knew would be very expensive. So I did some research online and found Franklynn Automotive. I called and described the situation to Steve. He said they likely can handle it, but would start with a complimentary second opinion. After their inspection, they determined that the hose does not need to be replaced and we only needed to refresh the refrigerant, which they do have the equipment for. In addition, the reason the other shop might have suggested the hose replacement was because of a leak related to the axel. All in, the repairs would be substantially less than the dealer quote for work that may not have been needed in the first place. Overall, great experience with Franklynn.

This is an amended review:…read more After I posted my Yelp review for Applewood Auto Care, I received a call from someone who identified himself only as Sam, who told me he was a District Manager with Applewood Auto Care. Although the Better Business Bureau web site shows that the business is a corporation, Sam assured me that Applewood Auto Care is not a corporation. Sam wanted to make it clear that they did nothing to cause my car not to start, but he couldn't explain how I was able to start my car and drive it to their shop. The auto shop that ultimately repaired my car said that, as they didn't know what Applewood Auto Care did during servicing, they had no way of knowing why the car wouldn't start, other than the fact that the timing chain needed to be replaced. Therefore, I amend my review of Applewood Auto Care to say, I have no proof that Applewood Auto Care did anything to exacerbate my car starting problem. In my original review, I didn't mention that Applewood Auto Care billing is awkward and unnecessarily confusing. Their oil change coupon special showed a price of $59.95, but no where on my bill was the $59.95 amount. Though a discount was applied, the bill included an unexplained "Fees" amount. Applewood Auto Care did demonstrate an interest in addressing my concerns, and even offered to perform a future oil change free of charge. Sam's reluctance to uniquely identify himself by refusing to reveal his last name was unprofessional and paranoid. Though Applewood Auto Care diagnostics were thorough and well documented with photos, overall, their prices for repair work are high, especially their estimate for replacing the timing chain. My only wish is that his location was closer to my house, and that he was open on weekends, but that won't stop me from going. Next he will see my Veloster for a seat heater diagnostic. I have been to Tune Tech twice. The first time for an issue with my cars remote start, then for a low beam bulb. Both times Tune Tech fixed the problem in a timely, professional, and affordable manner. They even checked all of my lights, finding I had 3 bulbs out, not just one. I was glad I took it to them considering I'd taken my car for an oil change a week earlier to a different company who never mentioned that I had any lights out. Last, but not least, Ken, the owner, is very pleasant to work with.
