Yesterday was a small celebration day as part of my birthday weekend. My gf and son brought me here for some fun. Having never gone axe throwing before I was interested. Nicky was our "coach". She was super nice but I had a hard time understanding some of what she said. With other patrons cheering and talking loudly and she was talking fast and giggling during her instruction it was hard to follow. As a suggestion, I understand the coach needs to be present for safety reasons but don't hover over the customers and tell them what games to play unless they are asking. Let the patrons explore and learn and have fun. The environment is nice. It's a little darkish like dungeon style which makes it kind of cool. It's also a little chilly on the lanes so maybe. Light sweater should be kept near by. Game play is fun and takes a little skill to get the axe to stick in the board but overall a good time. Would surely like to go again some time read more

I am speaking on behalf of everyone in our party. Our instructor (who started our timer BEFORE giving the instructional speech) was an overbearing mom/stalker/fun killer the entire time. She literally didn't leave us alone our entire visit. I got a "THATS YOUR LAST ONE" with bulging eye balls after opening a beer. I look over at her and she's staring at me. I look over a few minutes later and she's staring at me. I move to a different spot and a few minutes I look at her again. She's staring at me. So, I asked her why she was staring at me and she said "I'm not". We came as two couples that got babysitters so we could pay $160 to throw axes, relax and have fun. We did not get that here. We all like to make harmless fun of each other when we missed a target or whatever. Well, with all the dirty looks we got from camp counselor Nikki, we felt like we couldn't be ourselves. At the end she asked us to leave reviews for our experience online. Not sure what to think about that. It makes me think she was oblivious to every hint we gave her the past 90 mins, which was to leave us alone, stop staring and get out of our conversations. After our time was up we went to the parking lot and tried to make the best of it by talking about how awkward/ridiculous/crazy Nikki was. I don't think any of us will be back. read more

Great fun and easier than it seems! Came here on Friday night for bachelorette party with 10 women and three lanes. We planned it around two weeks in advanced and made reservations. You start by filling out a waiver takes no more than 5 minutes. Logan helped us and explained very well how to properly throw the Axe and the rules. It took a handful of tries but eventually everyone was able to get their axe to stick to the cork board. It was surprisingly easier that I thought it would be, honestly anyone can do it! There was around 5-10 minutes of instruction and then Logan went around making sure that everyone had proper form and was getting the gist of things. Even showed a few of us different types of throws plus you can change the projector to throw the ax at mummies, dart boards, tic tac toe and many other things. They do let you bring in a few drinks which is nice. There is also an attached area for escape rooms so you can probably book both for a very fun night. Unfortunately, some of the girls had to leave early even though we had booked the lanes for 2 hours. The team was very professional, nice and offered that we come back at a later date, I'm sure the bride will take up as most of us live out of town. So first time I came here was in August 2020 during Covid. It was actually really cool, we had a blast. It was low occupancy, it's byob and everyone was friendly... Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. We booked online and they charged us upfront and they told us again it was byob.... So we cooked for a couple hrs and we showed up with out beers and snacks and ready to have some fun. Well, once we got there we were told it's a 2.75 beer limit per person for the reserved time...... wait, wtf?! Lol, we wan only drink less the. 3 beers for our allotted time?! I kinda got frustrated, because really we came from dinner where we caught a perfect buzz and just paid 90 bucks online for this place to be told I could less then 3 beers. I got to the point where honestly I would rather do anything else then be there and asked for a refund. They called the nerdy manager up and he pompously told us no refunds.... I explained to him the situation and we were even early to our time.... Still he pompously said no. I got mad and explained in the past we had shots in here, wine bottles and I was drinking. Out of a 12 pack case.... I asked how was I suppose to know the rules changed. He said we should have gone to faq page and read it. Lol the dude was a complete ass and looked me dead in the face and told me no refunds...... my girlfriend then asked him if we can get a credit and use another day. He hesitatingly agreed to that. I will never go back. To charge 90 online when booking and not have the alcohol rules on that checkout page is ridiculous.. read more

It's not bad. The staff were friendly and there are multiple game options. I've done ax throwing before, but this is the first time I saw where they had a projector over the board and not just a painted bullseye. This means you can play different games during your time there. It's BYOB. I don't love how small the lands are both width and lengthwise. Also, they have a mini snack bar, but nothing great. You should make sure to eat prior to arriving. It also advertises that you will have a coach. My experience was one person who gives you and intro and kind of just floats around doing that as new people come in... so more of a tutorial than a coach. All in all, not bad and I wouldn't mind going again for a fun game night. read more

Went to celebrate my birthday and had such a great time. Ian was the perfect instructor, who didn't rush through his explanation or how to throw. He even let us us his " personal" axe, which is obviously the best axe in the place. I highly recommend checking Hotshots out. Random date day adventure. We popped in with no reservation and they were able to quickly get us in. Our coach was the absolute best part of this place. He had so much energy, knowledge and just the best cheerleader. It was such a fun date day. The axe part of the building is small. Just a few lanes but we didn't feel crowded. Had a lot of fun here. We arrived on a Friday night around 8pm and everthing was booked up until 9:30 so we were going to have to wait over an hour for a booth to open up but they had half the time left on one booth with no one there so they gave that to us at a huge discount. It was great. We had a ton of fun and didn't have to wait forever. Got yo walk right in and start throwing which was awesome. I would suggest you call ahead and reserve a spot if you would like to guarantee you get to throw when you want. We didn't know that since it was our first time. Either way. Had a ton of fun and would come back. Little pricey and I would say don't have more than 4 to one booth since even 4 made the pace pretty slow for us. Glad we didn't have 6. (The max) our axe specialist. Nicky was helpful and friendly. But didn't really teach us a whole lot of technique which would have been nice. But overall we had fun. And I would definitely come back. But probably plan it around a day they have discounts or something so we don't have to pay the full $35 per person. read more

Hotshots axe throwing is such a great time! We made a reservation for a random date night on a Tuesday around 7:30 and it was so fun! They show you how to throw, different ways, with two different axes. And then they let you kinda just practice a bit, and they have a bunch of easy to learn games you can play/win with your party. SOOO fun. Justin was our instructor and he was so fun! Super personable, knew a bunch of games, offered to take our picture, definitely a great time, i would definitely recommend him! PLUS its BYOB, so bring it! The atmosphere is great! They have great decor, and boards, and just great everything overall! My boyfriend has been to other Axe throwing places in the area, and he said this place definitely beats the others. Definitely go and check them out! read more

If you're into axe throwing or want a fun date night spot then it definitely serves its purpose and I love the fact that there's an escape room attached! My complaint is about Tyler who works there. He has 0 customer service or social skills. We had my 2 nephews who are 10 along with my in laws and husband. For starters he screams extremely and unnecessarily loud when giving instructions. He then proceeds to "teach" everyone how to throw the axe. I say "teach" because there was no teaching happening. If my nephews were struggling he was getting frustrated with them and telling them they are doing it all wrong in the most shaming way. So he was not kid friendly and whenever the adults would miss he would tell them they suck and belittle each person. He was by far the worst part about this experience and a reason people will not return. read more

Came for a staff event. Was easy to book. Guys who scheduled over the phone were super helpful- even as my group sized changed a few times they were still able to accommodate us. I was terrified because I had seen videos online of people throwing an axe and it bouncing back but Hotshots had wood chips on the floor to tamper bounce back. First time axe throwing ... SO MUCH FUN! We've been here to the escape rooms (Alcatraz, also awesome) before but had a chance to spend New Years Eve in the new Hotshots Axe Throwing. Huge space, 7 different throwing lanes and a great time for all of us. We had all people here of all ages from older kids all the way up to grandparents and everyone had a great time. We had no experience and they were great coaches. Jordan and Ian knee their stuff and we witnessed Jordan throw a double kill shot! Really chill place to go. There's always someone there to help you out if you are having trouble with the axe throwing. Space is tight so I would recommend getting an extra lane if you group is more than 3 people. You can take your own beer which is a plus! read more

Nicky made this experience so horrible . She started our timer before giving us our instructions . She makes you wait for each group to do practice shots . Just when you think you're finally on your own to have fun , she's right behind you making comments. If she sees you miss , she will give you another lesson & take up more of your play time. Wasnt what we were expecting when we walked in. Looked like a small bar . We paid for 2 hours of axe throwing. They have you meet with a axe throwing instructor prior to starting your game. Which makes sense. However they start your time running before the instructor begins their instruction. Our group of 4 was instructed along with a group of 3 next to us. Our instructor Nicky (and she will say it's NICKY WITH A "y" " took about 10 mins to go over instructions and then had each person in both parities take a practice throw. Mind you not just our group but the other group all took turns with the practice throws and if one was missed we waited till each person went several times practicing. This ate into 20 mins of our play time. Also, during our play time the instructor Nicky would come over and have us watch her throw. This wasn't for any safety issues as we were playing just fine. It was to show us different form. This in total ate into another 10 mins of our time. There was a different instructor with two groups next to us who went through the instructions fairly quick and then let them play. If they had questions he would help, otherwise they just got to play. We on the other hand lost a good 30 mins of play time and we're babysat by the instructor and felt that she was breathing down our neck. God forbid we missed a target she'd come on over and give us a 5 min lesson. We just wanted to have fun. There's not much space to begin with so having her hover made it quite uncomfortable. We did have fun but we'd probably try another place before going back. read more
