It feels brand new and the staff is super kind and friendly. - Super cute venue and I love the decor and the AI generated duck photos on the walls, LOL! - Expected board games with the name, but was pleasantly surprised to find miniature versions of bowling, axe throwing and curling! - This spot is perfect for company get-together's, which is what I was there for, birthday parties or just a low-key hang out with friends. Highly recommend checking out House Rules, especially with our summers being so hot. This is a great indoor activity. We were exploring Old Town Scottsdale last February when we came across this spot. We were already deep within the 2026 olympics, so, we thought it might be neat to try curling. Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. We came to House Rules for our work team activity. It's an ideal place for groups. There are games like curling, duck pin bowling, and axe throwing. And for those who aren't feeling those things, like me, you can just order food and hang out. I had the hatch green chili burger with sweet potato fries and I savored every bite. It was so good. I went here for a group event earlier this month and had a blast here! I love how Lane Park uses their space and how fun their activities were. When you walk in, the check-in process is super smooth and quick. After that, we were able to do some curling, axe throwing, and duck-pin bowling. Each area is clean and well kept, with staff constantly making themselves available to you should you have any questions. Extra shout out to the staff that helped us learn how to properly curl and axe throw, they were patient and friendly. I love that we could also grab food and a drink while we were playing around. Visited old town Scottsdale for an afternoon recently. It's a weird place, where whatever dusty "history" Scottsdale once possessed has been replaced by a thousand gleaming jewelry shops that all sell the exact same torquoise baubles. The question I asked a dozen times under my breath was "how in the hell do they stay in business?" ... Aside from the oddity of catching a glimpse of a grown man wearing a huge red diaper standing at a bar. Enter House Rules. We drove to Scottsdale specifically to go curling. Being a Minnesotan, I'd never had the chance to curl growing up in the state most closely associated with one of the world's oldest team sports. My only, and I mean, only, bummer is that House Rules rules don't allow you to step on the ice. You slide the 42lb stone from a standing position on an astro turf launch area ... Which makes it more like shuffleboard than curling. Still, curling is fun. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but really want to do it the way it's meant to be played next time. We also threw axes and rolled a game of duckpin bowling (which is a blast). Knocked back a couple beers on my way to TOTAL domination. We tried all three activities, and here's a breakdown: Duckpin bowling: 5-stars. So, so awesome. Think ski ball meets bowling. Smaller balls to throw down at the pins, with a raised bowling lane like ski ball, but all the same scoring etc. as bowling. This felt like such a elevated fun experience, you won't regret it! Axe throwing: 2-stars (probably because I am NOT good at this!). I would stray away from this as your main activity if you are not experienced, or have a team that's never done it before. It was a while before our team got the hang of it, and fun was not really had during the process :-P Ice curling: 5-stars. I was pleasantly surprised by this one, because the room is pretty chilly, and I thought everyone would get a little annoyed at being cold, but we all had a great time. Also, they offer 3 free large jackets for people to use at any time, which was a HUGE help, and a really nice touch. Think shuffle board meets curling. You don't have to get on the ice which is awesome.. .their onsite team helps you re-rack the game and keep score for you which was another nice touch. My friends and I did a thing Saturday night and that would be ice curling! After spotting a quick reel on IG that Lane Park had made recently, we all thought, "What? You can do this here?" and we made reservations! We thought it was something just for Winter Olympics, but now us regular people can partake in the sport too. You should think that this "sport" would be easy but I greatly underestimated how tough it would be sliding 40-ish pound granite stones across ice such a long way. It seems like giant shuffleboard almost with slightly different rules but more physical. I had to use two hands while on my knees to effectively push the stone. My husband, well, he effortlessly did it one handed but sometimes too strong. There was definitely a balance! Christian helped gather the granite stones at the end of each round and got them into place to start again. He helped reviewed rules with us and some techniques and how to score. He maintains the ice itself! It's "his baby" he said and takes very good care of it. He was so awesome! He was our judge and tie breaker at times because my friends and I got pretty competitive! Lol! Caity was the lovely bartendress and the first one to greet us and check us in. She was so helpful and so good at making sure we had drinks and food if needed throughout our stay there! The decor was fun inside and there were other games like duck pin bowling and axe throwing available if we wanted to stay longer. The prices for ice curling were $20 per person per hour which isn't that bad if you think about it. We had so much fun and will definitely return! read more

Came here for a team builder and I was super impressed with not only the games but with the food! Probably some of the better food that you will find at a place known for their games. We ordered several apps and a couple of pizzas and the buffalo chicken pizza and bbq chicken pizzas were amazing. I love that they were square Detroit style pizzas as Detroit is one of my fav styles of pizza. The majority of apps were good but quite pricey for what you got. The ax throwing was fun but I think there could have been a couple of improvements on the technology side of things. I felt that even though it may seem obvious that it will be cold while you play ice luge/curling that you could remind those who book to dress warm or bring a sweater if playing luge/curling. It was very wet in there and I'm guessing most don't want to kneel in water to play the game. Christian was very helpful but we also learned that every host in there has or honors different house rules. I would post the rules and make sure each host knows the rules. When Christian's peer took over she had different rules. Also the bumper/sides/lanes are broken and probably should be stronger. It was a very laid back environment, which was nice, compared to the other axe throwing places I've been to (the workers seem to tell you what to do and when to do it) Drinks were great and our server was attentive. Only downsides were that our wooden target seemed to be well used and had big wood chunks missing. We just discovered this place. My family with two young adult daughters had a great time! We started with curling, and then we bowled. In-between a host let my daughter try a couple of times throwing the axe. We had some food during our hour. The mixed drinks weren't that great but the fries were surprisingly good. A few hosts helped us to understand the games (like curling) and ensure we were set up to enjoy those games. We were offered a few tips to better push the stones. All staff were friendly and helpful. One change I wish they'd make is to allow a group to finish a game, rather than that game being unfinished exactly at the end of the reserved time. We went midday on a Sunday and were the only group there for most of our hour, and I wish we could have finished the final frame of bowling even if we paid a prorated amount for the extra time to finish. The score screen just turned off. We would have finished with about three minutes more. We will go again. Maybe we'll reserve for two hours because one hour can go quickly. read more

Curling was awesome! Reserving a lane was easy. Wish they would get gardening pads for your knees because after a while it starts killing your knees. Lane sweepers were very helpful with techniques and scoring. Our lane wasn't setup with our group names to accurately score though. Drinks a tad pricey. My sweetie and I decided to try something new. The fact it has a room full of ice, as the temps were rising fast played a role in the venue decision, but also, who knew we can go curling in Scottsdale in the summer??. Very glad we did it. Granted it's not necessarily Olympic style curling but we're not Olympians. In fact we're seniors and clearly not in the prime of our lives, but the curling was an hour of fun, friendly competition, and 100% enjoyable.
