Was here a few nights ago, and the food was the redeeming quality. Hard to give more than two stars though because the service was comedic at best. Waited for 20 minutes longer than the quoted 20 minute time with a party of 10 (can sometimes be understandable trying to seat 10 people). Sat at table for 25 minutes without a word from anyone. We were right on the path of wait staff to their computer, so they continually walked passed us, looked, and kept in moving. By the time anyone said hello, we all had drinks, apps and dinner figured out which seemed to annoy the waitress. She took all the orders. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. About 10 minutes after she took our order she came back and told me that they are out of pork. Then I ordered the fish tacos with French Fries. 10 minutes later, they are out of fries. All of our table's orders came out and my fish tacos (with nothing on the side) hit the table at least 5 minutes later than everyone's meal...I'm assuming because they cannot keep their kitchen stocked and had to put my food into the computer a few different times. All that being said, the fish tacos were decent. Everyone else had no complaints about the food. Can't even really remember the food though, when everything else was so terrible. read more

What a horrible experience! Went to see a show that started at 7:30. Arrived at restaurant at 5:30. Was told a 30 minute wait. Left after 1 hour and 20 minutes. Additional insult. A friend of mine arrived at restaurant about 15 minutes after us. But was seated not long after. Friend thinks it was a member of party of his party was wearing a Mason's ring. Additional note: ran into friend afterward, the hour after being seated they had still not received entrees, had to come back after show to pick up food. read more

Extremely Poor Service, forgot half of my order. Brought us nachos and wings with No utensils,napkins or plates! When you ask for these items you get attitude and looong waits. Went 2 nights in a row, first night fillet mignon was a lesser cut of meat with no flavor, old asparagus, dry potato and hard bread. The only good thing are the chicken wings.Don't go here, there are so many better alternatives. read more

This is my favorite lil spot to have drinks. And the food is always on point. Service varies by location but it's never bad enough to keep me away. With two locations you can kick back in a loungeish atmosphere or dress it up a little for the downtown location. Portions are a good size for the price. And the drinks are definitely on point! read more

This place is good, but still not great yet. We called about a block away from the restaurant to see if there was a wait, as my husband and I were starving and didn't want to wait long. We were told no wait, but upon checking in at the host desk, we were told 15-20 minutes. I let them know what I was told over phone, and they said a few tables were empty and just needed cleaning. In my book, if you can't take a guest straight to a table, then there's a wait. I felt slightly dismissed since there was no apology for the misinformation. My husband even went outside and called again after 10 minutes of waiting, and sure enough, no wait, yet we were waiting. It turned out there were even 4 tables ahead of us on the list. We were sat after 20 minutes and apologized to on the way to our seat. The part that turned this night around was our server, Mallory. She was FANTASTIC! Very warm and genuine. She greeted us, brought us drinks, appetizers, and food. Our food kind of came out on top of the apps, and my food was a little cold, but that is a kitchen error as she was constantly checking on them and updating us we waited for the app. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious, and I will definitely be back for them, but I can't quite rate the scallop entree, as the potatoes were not quite warm and the green beans were bordering on cold. I let Mallory know, and she immediately apologized and asked if she could get me anything else. The sincerity of her response made me feel like a valued guest. It's understandable that things will not always be perfect, but it's how you recover the situation that can lead to a person feeling like a guest or not. Mallory was perfection. Over all, Mallory was WONDERFUL, but the host needs a little work. read more

After a very long & hectic day we were seeking some comfort. Damaris was good natured, friendly, well informed about the food, and very accommodating with our bar requests. We never felt neglected. if I could rate this place a ZERO STAR I would! ny first time at Houlihans was a bad one! went there for a birthday dinner, the first one we went to Off of Sidney Simmons attached to doubletree would not even sit us because only one waitress who could not even tell us until we asked for a manager. so we went to the one downtown Columbus, first so not welcoming, secondly, there was a BUG in my drink, I kindly asked to have another one fixed for me, I received my food, not hot. I received the ticket and was not discounted for the bug that was floating around in my drink. I asked for the manager and advised I will pay for the drink but some type of discount she be applied, she walked away from me. I paid. after coming back with our cards, she also says wait I had to add gratuity so you have to pay again! this is just unacceptable! the blatant disrespect from this restaurant! I visited the restaurant today after checking into the Marriott and we were sat and served by Danielle. She was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. She was attentive, engaging and prompt. Absolutely horrible place to eat. Service is extremely slow, over 70 minutes for soup, salad and a poorly cooked steak. The New York strip was impossible to eat, tasted like liver because it had been over cooked. Can't say anything good about this place. Will not be eating here tomorrow. read more

10/10 would NOT recommend. We were here for a girls night out for the first time after receiving gift cards. Our server was excellent and definitely tried to remedy the situation. I got the impossible burger with the flight of martinis. The burger was delicious. It took us 45 minutes to receive our meal and an hour just for dessert which was a creme Brûlée and ordered when I was nearly done with my food. The creme brûlée has a very refrigerated taste, but to ask for a different dessert would've had us waiting here another 45 minutes. I asked for a water refill when we ordered the dessert. I had to wait 30 minutes before I received water. Our waitress did apologize for that, she had to refill the ice machine and could not locate the water jug in between juggling her tables. We had an issue with the check when it came. On the menu the martini flight is listed as 9.00 and was charged as 9.75 on the check. It took 20 minutes for the issue to be resolved. They raised alcohol prices but have not updated their menus. The manager ended up taking 10% off the check which saved 1.82 cents. We were here for a total of 2 hours and 26 minutes. Most of the time was spend waiting on food to arrive. Our waitress had a great attitude but even her specific service would not be enough for us to return. We asked that the rest of our gift card be applied to someone else's check, because I know I will not be using it. read more

The food was nasty. The fish and chips were soggy and bland. The coleslaw was hot and soggy. The chicken nachos were soggy and the tortoas were hard. The manager offered no corrections and argumentative with customers saying we ate more than 10 percent. Which see had not. I ate my fries only and tasted my fish. I would love to support this place (I served some time behind the scenes here) but, let's face it... the food is overpriced. But, it's that trendy atmosphere they want to project with their fancy titles for food you can make at home, hipster beer, and gauged prices. BUT THE FOOD IS SO STINKING GOOD. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Columbus, but when they changed- it was not for the better. The portions are much smaller, although the prices seem larger. The tea is absolutely dreadful, We are in the south... people here expect sweet tea when they order it- not some awful Earl Gray blend. I completely understand serving something different, but when a person orders sweet tea and is brought something totally different it stinks! Horrible service- We've been several times during lunch when it hasn't been overly crowded and yet our meal took forever to arrive. :( read more

My husband and I went for a birthday dinner with 6 other adults. We arrive first. The restaurant was fairly empty, with only two long tables having guests (other than the bar area). We were informed that half our party had to be present to be seated. Our friends arrived less than 10 minutes later and we were told that we had to wait for one of the long tables to open. Without being offered the option, we asked to sit outside. That was fine, but we had to pull our own tables and chairs together. I ordered the stuffed chicken and it was cold but edible. My husband ordered the 9oz sirloin medium rare. His steak came out and he made two cuts, both brown all the way through. The server asked if he wanted to send it back and he said no, but as he cut again, it just seemed silly to pay $20 for a bad steak. So he sent it back. A few minutes later, the waitress brings the same steak back and tells him that it's medium rare, but the light is just bad outside. Having used the flash from his phone, he knew it was overcooked before he sent it back. But, who brings it back and tells the customer they just have bad lighting? I left off the part where she brought the bill and we were charged for the meal he didn't eat. He had to ask to have it removed and the server was reluctant to go to the manager with it. On of the people in our party ordered 3 Mojitos (which didn't have mint in it) and got charged for 6 full price Mojitos when they were ordered for SUNDAY ALL DAY Happy hour. On multiple occasions we had our waitress forget to put requests in the computer and we never received those items because we were skeptical it would take two hours to receive. We visited this restaurant because it was inside of the hotel we were staying in. Terrible, terrible service. Our server did not remove a single dirty plate or empty glass from our table during the entire visit for dinner. Had to ask for silverware. Overall, not good. With our hotel purchase we got breakfast included. Of course, breakfast is in the same place except this time Buffett style. The sole responsibility of the server was to get refills on drinks and our first drink took 10 minutes. She was ignoring us and seemed like she could only handle doing one thing at a time. Eggs were not good tasted like powdered eggs. I was scared to try to biscuits and gravy because of how gritty they looked. Our family ate here for lunch because we had a decent coupon. The place was practically empty yet our food took at least 40 mins to come out. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon with asparagus and gold mashers. The salmon was bland and overcooked. The grilled asparagus was burnt and tough. My husband got the Ahi Tuna Salad and said his tuna tasted weird. At the end of our meal we asked for ice cream for the kids. We waited 15 minutes just for scoops of ice cream. Wish I had looked at the reviews before we came. Service is ok, not great, but the food was terrible. Ordered the hummus & sent it back because the carrots and cucumbers were rotten. Seriously...rotten. They sent it back out with rotten cucumbers and dried up carrots. My wife got the oh my squash lasagna that came out burnt. Had to send it back, too. Second time was a little better, but not much. Really a terrible experience. What a dumpster fire. If it weren't for the fact it's in the only decent hotel in downtown Columbus, it would have been out of business long ago. read more

This is the first time we have been to this establishment and I will have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Me and a friend had both received gift cards and decided to go in a nice kid free Girls Night out. Everything started off nice and the waitress was super nice, however things started to go downhill after a bit. We ordered drinks and they were good and we ordered food. It took 45 minutes to get our food which I wouldn't have minded but the food was good but not "I waited 45 minutes for barely warm food" good. We gave them the benefit of the doubt (it's Friday night downtown) and decided to order desert. Big mistake. It took another hour for us to receive our "just okay" desserts. We decided to ask for the check because who knew how long that was going to take. When we got our check we noticed an error on the price of our martini flights. It was only 75¢ (it said $9 on the menu but rang up as $9.75) but because of us using gift cards we made sure to be careful and budget and that 75¢ had put me over the budget. They told us they raised prices but not the menu, and we had politely told them we should still get that taken off and they had false advertising. I guess because they can't change alcohol prices, they gave us 10% off our bill (we weren't asking for that much but that was the only way they can fix it). We never spoke to the manager however we did see her at other tables and she was honestly being rude to the other customers who were also having issues so it wasn't just us. I just want to clarify that our waitress was so nice and and doing the best that she could but I don't know what was going on in the back but they need to fix the issues. Early Saturday evening the restaurant was not very crowded and we were seated right away. Our first issue was being seated right next to the kitchen door when the place was so empty. We were moved to another location upon request. The next issue was they were out of pot roast sliders but did have the pot roast dinner, go figure! They were also out of veggie sliders so I selected pulled pork and a burger slider. The burger was raw and pulled pork was hard chunks of dry meat with no sauce. The pot roast dinner was supposed to have carrots, mashed potatoes, and fried onions. The carrots were sliced about 3" long and a half inch thick and raw, not cooked at all. The onions were burnt. If our server had stopped by we would have sent the meals back. She only was visible when she came by to bring our bill. The hostesses were so busy talking to each other they did not even acknowledge guests leaving. We would not recommend this place. read more

Definitely my favorite place in town. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. Amy and Daniel are fantastic and make excellent craft drinks. They always make you feel welcome and at home. The food is amazing and the menu offers something for everyone. You can sit at the bar, outdoor patio, or at a regular booth/table inside. Even after alerting a server that we needed help, we still did not receive any service.
