Lake Baldwin is my go too for my walks and jogs! I feel safe here no matter the time of day because there are so many people being active rather walking, cycling, jogging or a walk/ run club or 5! The scenery is peaceful and it's a good way to clear your mind, get fit or enjoy a nice convo and coffee with your friends, partner or kids. This is one of my favorite parks. I've been visiting for over a decade. It used to have a different name. It's a great dog park. I really miss the giant tree by the dog wash area. The stump remains. There used to be an incredible piece of art carved into the tree. There are still other great trees remaining though. Lots of trees. One time I went there on a cool autumn morning and I thought I had passed into dog HEAVEN!!! The fancy dog rescue groups met up and there were tons of incredible dog breeds, especially the ones that look like big fluffy mops. I've been here numerous times, & this park means a lot to me. I have incredible memories. *Beware of the lake, there might be alligators. (I used to enjoy watching the sailboat lessons.) *Best if you wear boots. Last time I ended up with a bunch of dirt in my shoes. *I've only seen 2 dog fights. Stay close to your dog. *Once, I saw what appeared to be coyote fur on a fence, there might be one around there sometimes. The walking trails in the woods/forest part is really fun. A guy used to play his guitar in a center area. I like walking my dogs through the woods there. Sad when I see my dogs years later unable to walk like they previously could, or disoriented, lost in there. We sure did enjoy that park extensively. Bring dog shampoo & a towel if you want, the dog shower bench is free. read more

We love going to lake Baldwin dog park. The park is so big with lake access, a woodland trail, dog showing stations, water fountains and bathrooms. This is a great place to bring your dog. It is very well maintained and most of the dogs are very well behaved. Just be prepared to trek into the water or through the woods if your dog is adventurous. I love that they have 4 dog washing stations to clean up after they play. read more

We finally found a nice dog park to bring my parents dog where she could get accustomed to being out and about. We stayed within the small dog area more since she isn't very comfortable around much larger dogs. It was nice to see lots of water bowls ready for them to drink water from and a spot to bathe your dog if it goes into the lake. We walked over to the small dog fenced area where we sat beneath the largest oak tree in have seen. It was nice to enjoy the day out with my parents and their lovely Boston Terrier. read more

Lake Baldwin has become part of my weekly routine and it's one of my favorite places to exercise. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, with water views and lots of nature along the trail, so the walk never feels repetitive. The loop is about 2.5 miles, which is perfect -- going around twice makes a great 5 mile workout without it feeling super heavy or tiring. The atmosphere is very welcoming and family friendly. You'll see people walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, or out with their dogs, and everyone is respectful of space and pace. It's lively without being overcrowded, which I really appreciate. Whether you're exercising, getting steps in, or just want a nice outdoor reset, it's a great spot to move your body and enjoy the fresh air. This is the park and lake area at the end of the town center. We love just walking around the lake area, but the park is well maintained and pretty nice! The lake area is a bit unkempt compared to the rest of the area, but it's still nice to Walk around. The sidewalk area is in good condition too. read more

We love walking and running around this park. It makes a full loop and there's plenty of parking. There's a decent amount of shade and the path is wide and easy to navigate. It's a little under 3 miles, so great practice for a 5K if you're willing to run just a little past your starting point. There's a section by the water where there's a pavilion and a little area full of restaurants. There's a dog park by the largest amount of parking. Our favorite spot for a walk! read more

When you see how big the open area is you have to realize that the wooded area is about twice that size. From WWII until the 1990's, the area that is now Baldwin Park was owned by the US military. In 1942 the Orlando Army Air Station was established and it encompassed what is now the Orlando Executive Airport, Baldwin Park, Audubon Park, the Fashion Square Mall, and the Koger Office Center. In the early 1960's the air station closed and the land was used as a Navy training center that trained over 650,000 recruits. In 1993 the base was closed leaving a 1,000 acre hole right near downtown Orlando. The land was turned over for community and economic development. The Lake Baldwin neighborhood takes its name from Robert H. Baldwin, who helped establish the naval training center in Orlando. The Lake Baldwin neighborhood was developed in 2007 and has won many awards including accolades from the National Association of Home Builders, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. The pristine neighborhood includes 15 different house styles including cottages, bungalows, and manor homes. The Lake Baldwin neighborhood is located on the shore of Lake Baldwin, one of two lakes on the former military property. Lake Baldwin Park is one of the parks located on the shores of Lake Baldwin. The park covers over 23 acres and offers gorgeous views of Lake Baldwin. This is the only dog friendly park in Winter Park and dogs are allowed off leash from 6 AM until sunset. Park amenities include restrooms, benches, picnic tables, fishing pier, playground, and a boat ramp for non motorized boats. I enjoyed riding my daughter's new Lectric e bike around the Lake Baldwin Jogging Trail which runs the perimeter of Lake Baldwin and connects this park to Harbor Park. I've been to Lake Baldwin Park many times. It's one of my favorite places to go bike riding. I would often come here right after work especially during the colder months. It was such a nice way to relax and unwind after a stressful day. I tend to be picky about the places I go bike riding, I want to be sure that it's safe and I've never had an issue here. Before this whole Covid thing started they used to do the first Friday of the month street fair and that was probably the best time to go bike riding because you'd get your exercise done and then see the street fair afterwards. The allure for me apart from the very nice natural scenery that the trail has to offer is also the restaurants and shops nearby as well. They've even added an independently owned brewery that has really good beer. Its nice to see people out in about, it brings a certain sense of normalcy. Apart from the bike trail, there's a dog park that seems to be very nice, a regular park where small children can entertain themselves, and a small little boardwalk that leads out into the water. I even saw a couple get married on that little board walk, it's very picturesque and lends itself as a romantic venue. read more

Lake Baldwin Park is one of my absolute favorite places to go for a walk, get some fresh air and just mentally. For me, it's my favorite due to a variety of factors. First, it's a paved walk, which is a MUST if you're going on a walk with a stroller. Second, it's not an insanely long walk, I believe it's a few miles if you go around the lake once and I enjoy the view along with all the friendly folks you encounter. Third, there's a cute little area to rest, take pictures or even step out and grab a bite to eat. I do, however, recommend going early on a weekend before the heat is in full effect. As a bonus, this park has a couple of options you might not find elsewhere. There is a kids playground with swings and a playing area, which is great if you have children. I like taking my little one here to get on the swings. There is also a dog park available on the premises and if I had a furry little one I'd definitely take them there. Highly recommended dog park! Lots of dogs consistently and a great fenced wooded area for your fur baby to explore! My girlfriend and I take her dog to this park often despite it being 40 minutes away for us. He absolutely loves the park all the other dogs in the area, the opportunity to swim (if we let him) along with the wooded area with all the different terrain to explore! The park also has showers to wash your dog off if he/she goes out and takes a dip, there are faucets along with several gazebos with benches where you can sit and watch your dog play and run around. Lake Baldwin Park sits on the opposite side of Lake Baldwin if you're looking at it from Baldwin Park business area. There is a path that goes around the entire lake that leads to this park. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk there from New Broad Street. There is also a small parking lot if you wish to drive right up. There's a fenced in playground with swings on one side and a fenced in dog park on the other. Trees are plentiful. A bathroom and water fountain can be found next to the parking lot. The park backs right up on the lake and makes for a nice setting. There is even a boat ramp (no gas engines). What a wonderful, shady park near Baldwin Park! read more

Oh! Lake Baldwin Park. When I was living in Orlando, I would come here everyday and whenever I am in town I still go to Baldwin Park everyday. I have been to many trails in the US and Baldwin Park seems to be my favorite jogging trail. My biggest problem with this trail are the cyclists. At times, they can be rude and they love to almost run you over. The fenced dog park in itself is like heaven for dogs. So much for them to do. Besides the dog park, there's parking, restrooms, picnic tables, playground, boat launch, and short pier. Of course, the best part of this park is the multipurpose 2.5 miles paved loop around Lake Baldwin. I love the scenic view and the pretty houses. You can see so much wildlife on this trail. There are always people exercising on the trail during most hours of the day. It makes me feel very safe. There are two access points near the trail that connects to Cady Way Trail. If I wanted to change scenery, I would just jog to Blue Jacket Park. Overall, 5 stars. read more

Baldwin Park Trail's a scenic 2.5 mile public loop around the lake of the same name that sews together several parks including running through Lake Baldwin's Harbor Park; where Lake Baldwin's village/city center opens up to the water front. Among several other smaller parks, it also runs through a dog park (one of the area's best) and Orlando's Veterans' Memorial Park. It also connects to Blue Jacket Park by way of Upper and Lower Park Roads with a nice wide open common grassy space between them and connects with the Cady Way Trail as well. Lots of people use the trail throughout the day for all sorts of reasons and it crowds up from time to time, especially weekends or during one of many events stemming out of Harbor Park. Not one of the friendliest trials, people tend to keep to themselves. There's all manner of urban wildlife including birds and rabbits and such. Lots of ducks, doves, cardinals, scrub jays, egrets, gulls, herons, swamp turkeys, cormorants, and an occasional osprey or loose dog. Bats at dusk. Baldwin's nothing short of an engineering marvel. While everything looks so nice and new and natural, Baldwin's actually a massive land reuse project re-engineering what was once our former Naval Training Center here into a mixed use master planned community. Over 200 buildings, 20 miles of roads, and 200 miles of underground utilities were raised and removed and cleaned up to remake the area into what it is today. There's a few really good articles out there if you look for them. Lots of historic aerial photography too. Beware of aggressive Tour de France inspired cyclists cutting through pedestrian traffic like it's their own personal high speed velodrome - I've clocked some over 22 mph!! Dangerous. read more

Lake Baldwin Park is such a great introduction to moving to the Orlando neighborhood. The Lake carries some good distance around the parameter for running/walking, although most of the time I am just pretending to run when a cute person walks by. Speaking of cute, the eye candy is just amazing, it's like riding a bike without no handlebars. The trails swerve in and out of shade thanks to the ample tree foliage, which is especially good when someone is giving you some shade. My favorite spots, and memories are in Vietnam Memorial Park, and the dock by the Dog Park. Speaking of dogs, people really let the dogs out over here, it's nice to see a good poodle. Then the park trail gives way, get ready for my favorite part, the town itself for Happy Hour. Happy Hour in the Town of Lake Baldwin is a MUCH needed refreshment break from all that exercise around the Lake. Then you can plop your legs up on deck in town, and watch the water while trying to walk "straight" back home. Overall, take a stroll throughout Lake Baldwin Park. It's great exercise, and an even better Happy Hour in town! Plus, you just never know how you might run into your next Prince Charming? read more

Thanks to a neighbor we found out about this park, I had no idea it was so big (TWSS). It's a good spot to bring your dog around. There's even a wooded trail area you can walk your dog off leash, small enough you can't lose sight of them but big enough they feel like mini wolves. There's a lake too if your dog is into jumping into the water but my dog stays clear of the water like it's gone out of style. The fenced in area has plenty of trees for shade on a hot day and there are covered tables. The park has easy access to water if you need to fill up a dog bowl. When you're ready to leave there are multiple showers to wash your dog off before leaving, you may have to wait a little on a busy day but it's definitely convenient. Don't forget to bring a towel, clothes and shoes that can get dirty. Dogs can get pretty dirty and wet, but if you're like me you'll hug them anyways :) read more

I love this 23 acre dog friendly Park. It is shaded with big beautiful trees and has places for dog owners to relax. There are numerous picnic tables and benches scattered around. It's a little dusty in some areas where the grass is sparse but not so much that you have to bath your dog afterwards. My dog loved playing on the sandy beach with the other dogs and having the freedom to roam. For the most part the other dog owners were wonderful. There is a boat launch for boats with out a motor and a dock where we sat and enjoyed the view of the lake. Afterwards we took a stroll around a beautiful trail around the lake. read more

Lake Baldwin Park has a dog park and 2.5 miles running trail. I love walking on this trail every day since it's beautiful. The trail is full of trees, grass and wildlife such as flamingo, ducks, herons and wild daisy. The trail circumvents the lake baldwin so it's not only beautiful but it has a mild climate, circulated by the water. There is a restroom building for public use. There is also a playground for the little kids. And there are plenty of benches along the trail for people to rest eat read or just relax. People running/walking on the trail are so friendly as well; they always say hi. I will come back to this trail often if not every day. read more

This is a very nice park and dog park. There is a small area for small dogs and the whole rest of the area is for all the dogs. So you can choose where to go. If u do want to be in the big spread out area which is quite ideal, just remember to watch your dog. I saw a little Yorkie get bitten by a big dog. It was quite scary. Afterwards, i made sure we left. This is still a pretty spot and I wish there was a bigger divided spot for small dogs. read more

There are bike trails the circle the park, expansive grassy areas for frolicking around, and right in the middle is a Lake Baldwin, for what I assume this park is named for. It's a pretty big lake so it makes for a nice stroll with some amazing views. I have no idea where the park begins or ends, but the entire area surrounding is an outdoor lover's dream. read more

One of my favorite places to spend time outdoors in all of Orlando. Lake Baldwin Park is wonderful; you can walk along the hiking/biking path all the way around the lake (several miles), take your dog to the dog park, or have an outdoor picnic at one of the tables. At dusk during the warmer months, you can see the bats as they awaken and start to flap around. There really aren't enough places in the Orlando area where you can feel close to nature, but this park is one of them! read more

I DO NOT GO HERE * MUST READ ‼ Although I want to say great things about this park such as, "how big it is and how nice it is for our pups to run around," that is not the only thing we should worry about. I never surround Aquiles around water since I wasn't sure how he would react, so I finally decided to open him up and give it a try. He's a healthy 1 year old pup with TONS of energy. The first day was great, he said was swimming and enjoying himself. 2nd day I took him again and I realized his energy was a little low then usual but I figured he was just exhausted. I took him once again. After 3 days of resting without taking him out I realized a RAPID lost of weight, coughing, throwing up, lack of eating or drinking water. MY HEALTHY BABY BOY WAS SICK AND I DIDNT KNOW HOW. I finally decided to take him to the vet because he could barely stand up or even walk. After a fecal sample and blood test, the results came back that BECAUSE OF THE WATER, DOGS CONSTANTLY PEE AND POOP IN. HE HAD GOTTEN PARASITES. THE MOST A DOG OF HIS AGE AND WEIGHT COULD CONTRACT. I explained to the vet I only taken him to Lake Baldwin, where she advised me not to go back too unless I'm looking to get my pup sick again. Being said. There is dog poop everywhere & because it is a safe and big place for them, it does not change the fact that the moment they go into the water, splashing in their eyes and mouth they are contracting other animal waste. I hope I'm able to help the next concerned dog parent out. I will never bring him there again. read more

It's approximately 2.5 miles all the way and Lake Baldwin, so it's a great space to run, bike, walk, etc. The path is wide enough to accommodate passing people and two way traffic. Most people are good at staying to the right. The views are great. The lake side on the center. There is the dog park, New Broad Street, piers and scenic housing at various points. There are benches every few hundred feet or so, which is great for those leisurely walks, catching your breathe, or even doing some stretching or exercises on them. It's really well maintained as well! Overall: A Good path for just about any type of adventure! read more

To the best dog park I have ever been to! HUGEEEE layout, with these beautiful trees that provide plenty of shade. There are picnic tables, bathrooms, and very convenient washing stations for the dogs. There's a sandy beach area where the dogs can play in the water. What's really cool is the gated wooded area where dogs can run wild through the trees. There's also a walking trail for the humans - I try to come here once a week with my two dogs. Let me restrict this to "what's new". So many have written so well, let me just touch on a few items. On the comment that it was going to become a Fee Only park, those city council members supposedly got voted out, and the park's back to being free. I just wish that they could put a "donation Station" to collect more funds to improve the park. There's a new restroom and dog wash station. the old dog wash station is still operational, but there's now a way to wash your dog and get it closer to your car while staying on a pavement or concrete surface. The new bathrooms are really quite nice, and are very open above, so let's just say voices carry! Today, I saw a small dog get chased by 4 larger dogs. People with smaller dogs that do not socialize regularly with larger dogs may get a little freaked out here. This is what happened today. The little dog started screaming- a noise I'd never heard before. Even my Labrador froze, then ran over to assist. It was like turning on an electro magnet that only worked on dogs. Soon, 30 dogs, mostly large, were near the little thing, staring at her, everyone frozen, and this of course freaked her out even more. The dog was never in danger, at all. But it seemed like it needed to have more supervised time with dogs of all sizes before being exposed again to a busy, busy Saturday afternoon there. The woods are as great as people say. We love walking through all those pathways, and our dog LOVES exploring. Almost as much as tossing the tennis ball into the lake. The park keeps getting added to. New fountains have been provided by Friends of Peeples Dog Park, and there's even a lending library for books. You come with a og, sit in an old plastic chair on the waterfront, and let your doggie rip back and forth burning off all that joyus energy. It's said that this is the fifth best dog park in the nation. I believe it. My contribution is to try to pick up some OTHER dog's mess that some owner chose not to pick up. this isn't too bad a problem due to the huge size of the park, but it still is an issue. read more
