We have been going to Pawllywood for almost a year now. We have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this doggy daycare. The owners get to know each and everyone of their customer's and pups. My Stormie is always SO excited to see us pull up to Pawllywood and runs full force to great the owners or front desk staff. She is socialized safely with other pups of size and temperament and constantly monitored by observant staff. I always see (from the live cameras) the staff providing constant love and attention to all those that are playing in and outdoors of Pawllywood. I have nothing but great things to say about this doggy daycare. I am so happy that there is a safe place for my dog to stay during the day and have fun! We've boarded our dog here a few times before, not sure what happened this last time. Since pick up, my dog has been acting strange, he's jumpy and appears to be on edge. His grooming was a bit of a disappointment, they called us while on vacation to let us know they had to shave all of his fur off due to matting, he unfortunately looks terrible but luckily hair grows back. The live cam is a great feature to have but sadly all dogs are put to bed around 5 so they can't be monitored for long. When we went to pick him up, we were handed the wrong dog, granted the dog we were handed looked identical to ours but receiving the wrong dog is quite shocking. The receptionist apologized for the mix up but it definitely raised red flags. The big plaid blanket we sent our dog with wasn't returned during pick up, we were told it was being washed and we'd have to come back to get it. Life has been busy so the blanket is still there. Overall, this last visit was concerning and included more incidents than I would've liked. read more

I have been taking my husky here for over two years. On her daycare days all I have to say is "do you wanna go to daycare?" And she races to the front door ready to get in the car we usually do the half day and when I pick her up she's tuckered out from a day of fun. The staff is the kindest, always friendly and smiling. Pawllywood is the best! Owners are lovely. Facility is clean. Staff is attentive to the dogs. They give a FREE 3 hour trial to see how you dogs does and have webcams so you can watch your fur baby at any time. Daycare is great, my dog was 7 months when he started going and is completely dog socialized - I can bring him anywhere there are dogs and he is great - all because of Pawllywood! I have now used they overnight kennels twice and my dog was perfectly happy when he came home no PTSD. If you have to send your fur- baby anywhere away from home - this is the safest and funnest place for them. Their grooming is top notch as well. The prices are extremely reasonable too! read more

I want to thank everyone at Pawllywood for the great grooming experience. My Dog Maya needed a grooming so badly. No matter how much I brushed her she still got matted. Stephanie did a beautiful job. Maya is a very anxious dog and not easy to groom. The owners were on premise and everyone had on masks and sanitizer on the wall right next to front door inside . I'm so happy to have a place like This so close to my house... My Bernese mountain dog goes 1-2 times a week while we work full days... he is still being crate trained so when we work full days it makes more sense for him to be here and get the exercise and socialization that he needs to be the happiest dog. the staff is amazing so caring and compassionate to him he really LOVES going there. He plays all day and is tired out when we pick him up. They have a live webcam feature so you can check up on your dog throughout the day. Also the dogs are free to roam inside and outside of their designated area as they please. Every time i check the web cams my dog is playing with other dogs,tail is wagging the whole time. The people who work there really love all the dogs and it Shows. He is always being paid attention to, being pet and praised. Solange and her husband are the sweetest people who really want to get to know you and your dog! At first visit they will give you a tour of the facility and go over everything with you . This made me feel so at ease because they really want you to trust them and see how great of an experience your dog will have. I loved that they did a temperament evaluation prior to a full day so they could asses the dog to see where the best fit for him would be. Grooming of my large dog was impeccable! The staff were courteous and most helpful and patiently listened to my concerns.

Bear in mind I have a PhD in Brain & Behavior whereas the owner of this place has a major in **BUSINESS**. Solange - the owner - understands *NOTHING* about animal behavior. She DOES NOT understand that dogs can get depressed n can display a myriad of behaviors when closely attached to their owners n are abruptly separated from them (aka don't eat their food). We have experienced a few dog boarding places before and I speak with uttermost first hand knowledge. I came to board our one year old Bernedoodle one week ago and while I was finalizing the paperwork, a lady from her staff came and literally SNATCHED *MY* dog away from my kids. When I was done with paperwork I asked where was he and she started YELLING AT ME AND IN FRONT OF THREE other customers (I contacted two of them afterwards and they're my witnesses) and MY KIDS (4 and 6) "I AM NOT GOING TO BRING YOUR DOG BACK HERE". Obviously after this absurd altercation I decided *NOT* to board my puppy there and FOR THE LACK OF INTELLIGENCE from her end SHE HAD TO BRING MY DOG BACK TO ME ANYWAY. One customer immediately left the facility after watching ALL this LACK OF  professionalism. Solange does not understand the word CONSENT. She has VERY POOR comprehension that YOU MUST ASK FOR OTHERS CONSENT IN ORDER TO DO ANYTHING WITH THEIR BELONGINGS. This place is NOT professional AT ALL. Theres a lot of red flags.. On top of everything, as if this was not enough, you can call and compare. Pawlywood  IS OVERPRICED. Instead of coming here you are WAY better off at HOUNDSTOWN. Among ALL boarding places Houndstown really seems to be THE BEST and the most fair priced. At Pawlywood you must pay $60 for a bath after boarding your dog. At Houndstown they charge $35 and if you board 5 night + they shower your puppy for free. At Houndstown you find ANIMAL BEHAVIORISTS amongst their staff and staff are WAY more friendly and kinder to animals than at Pawlywood. They're NOT business oriented THEY REALLY CARE and understand about dogs. It's awful that places like this can be so deceiving. Solange doesn't care about quality - her main goal is quantity. We've been customers for over one year with very positive experience until the change in ownership. Sad to write this review but here goes: 1. Dog owners were never notified of the change in ownership. Led to believe that everything was "Status quo" however many things have changed, and not for the better. 2. Website appears to be the same but there is now a new client portal - again, no notification to the dog owners of new procedures.Why the lack of communication?? 3. Webcams are now mislabeled and not working most of the time. 4. Property front looks terrible: bushes overgrown, weeds everywhere. Very poor appearance. If the grounds are not being attended to, how can one be sure that dogs are? 5. Front desk claims "Management never comes. They leave us in charge." Well, who's in charge? Leadership is weak at best with little understanding of dog behavior. More training would be helpful. Sadly, we will not be returning and would advise other owners to be aware of the above. From the booking process to when we walked out the door, we were taken care of with utmost professionalism and warmth. My Long Haired Doxie is a very anxious little boy, and the groomer, Stephanie, made him feel calm and relaxed. The owners are a husband and wife team and one could tell this is what they love to do. Very unprofessional and also racist. Owner told me to go back to my country. First, off I was born and raised in NJ all my life. My wife is from Long Island but we live in NJ. We drive from NJ to get our dogs groomed here. So here's the story, we dropped our dogs off for grooming. We explained the matting of our puppy and said shave the matting but don't shave the non-matted parts even if it comes out patchy. Our dog wasn't severely matted. We asked if we should come back in 4 hours, the owner responded no it will be 2.5 hours. No problem, we called back 2.5 hours to see if they were ready. Owner began to say no not at all, our dog was a "nuisance" and very problematic. This was our 4th time there and the original groomer never complained. The owner proceeded to blame us and say we haven't been there since August. This is supposed to be a professional groomer who are or should be used to issues like matting. It sounded like it was a problem that we even brought our dog in to get groomed. She also made it seem as we were wrong for even calling 2.5 hours later to check in despite her telling us thats all it would take. Within that 2.5 hours, they didn't think to call us to inform us of any issues, which also might be extra charges. We decided to cancel because of her unprofessionalism and she wanted to charge a de-matting fee as well as a "$50" cancelation fee for our 2nd dog who hadn't even been started on. We said we don't think we should have to pay for cancelation since she was making our dog out to be problematic which was our reason for cancelling. She responds "Well then you're not getting your dog back ha ha ha ha"... Are you kidding me??? She literally laughed after saying that. I replied f*** you out of anger. My dogs are not a car that I dropped off for servicing. They are living beings. She basically wanted to hold my dogs hostage. I immediately contacted the police once she said that and left to drive to Pawlywood. Upon arriving there, I went in and asked for my dogs, two people were there and one said hold on, the owner was dealing with another customer. So I waited calmly since I was waiting for the police to arrive anyways. When they took the other customer's dog I asked her when she drops that dog to the back can she bring mine out and she said I can't, you need to talk to the front desk. Clearly they didn't want to cause a scene in front of their customer and waited for her to leave. The customer asked how long it would be and the owner replied 1.5 hours so I said to the customer "it might actually be longer and extra charges." This infuriated the owner who decided to berate me, after the customer left, for saying something about her business. She then proceeded to say "I dont belong in this country. I should go back to my country." Funny, cause this is my country. She decided to turn this into a racial matter with no reason whatsoever. Her husband comes out after and points his finger at me saying "did you tell my wife to go f*** herself". Which I did not. I did say F U on the phone cause she threatened to hold my dog hostage. He kept coming and walking up to my face without a mask covering his mouth, berating me even after I walked out of the shop to wait for police. The police finally came and I got my dogs back. The police told me the husband said that they're contract we signed (months ago) stated they charge a 25 dollar cancelation fee. Funny, they told us they we're going to charge 50 dollars for canceling one dogs appointment. This is something we did not need to go through especially the day after Christmas. The owners husband also stated we gave them issues prior to this situation. Um no we never did, we drive from Jersey just to get this grooming. Why would we do that if we were causing problems. If he was referring to my dogs matting then I apologize, should've told us the first time. I wasn't aware a professional groomer such as themselves could not handle matting issues. Update: Owner responded, now calling my dog a "sweet" bernedoodle when on the phone she was rude and called my dog a "nuisance". I would love for you to share your video footage so we can all see i walked in calmly and was pretty much ignored. Also you can share how you had told me I don't belong in this country and should go back to my own country. Police dispatch was on the phone with my wife when you later came out and repeated that I should go back to my own country which they acknowledged they heard. Please don't try to save face by calling my review outrageous. You are a racist despite being an immigrant from Latin America yourself and that is very despicable for you to tell I don't belong in this country and to go back to my country. This place was amazing! Very clean and not only cageless but the dogs can play almost all day and freely go from indoor to outdoor. They have live came to check in on them. And the owners go above and beyond. My dogs fresh food went bad during the stay and they went to the store and made more for her because they knew she had a sensitive stomach.. It had been almost 2 years since she was at doggy daycare or was boarded and had become even more attached to us since my husband and I were working from home. We researched places for awhile and ultimately decided to try Pawllywood since the reviews were very good and we wanted a place with cameras so we could check in on her. We took a tour and the place was very clean and the staff seemed friendly and appeared to genuinely care about the dogs. We boarded her for the first time recently and were extremely nervous since we had not been separated from her for that long in a very long time. She ended up having a great time! She was so happy when we picked her up and went around to "say goodbye" to all the people who worked there. We feel very comfortable leaving Roxie in their hands in the future. It made us so happy to see what a good time she had while she was there. We live 30 minutes away, but it's worth the drive to have peace of mind that Roxie is well taken care of while we are away. read more

So I brought my dog for a meet and greet three hour trial today 1/28/23. We were treated by Courtney the manager who I must say was the friendliest woman so kind so welcoming . A man was sitting at the desk next to her I don't recall his name but from the get go was so rude didn't even acknowledge us --no good morning didn't even look up from the laptop he was looking at while Courtney was speaking to us . My dog was so excited that knocked down some pens that were on the counter I was apologizing and the man said "what the fuck was that ? ". If it wasn't for Courtney I would have walked out . The whole staff in fact was so kind except for this one man who I saw was there today for my appointment at 10:00am . They brought back my dog on a leash to the back we were told that we could view on the screen while he was introduced to the other dogs not even 60 seconds past and the man came back with Courtney and my dog and said no we can't accept him . HE didn't even give him a chance like I said he had an attitude from the moment we came in . In fact my husband asked while the dog was there if were able yo give him a bath ? The man said aggressively NO . Courtney being lovely as she was explained why and we understood . I called after we left and complained about the man and said how lovely everybody was and he needed to check his attitude and we felt that he didn't even give the dog a chance and was so rude to us . The man called me on my cellphone to berate me and said he called to apologize but he didn't let me speak and said he asked why do people get so upset when we don't accept their dogs , I said I understand that he wasn't accepted but the way he treated us was unacceptable and would never recommend this place again . This place is the best. Take my Wheaton Terrier here to get groomed and he comes out great everytime. Dont even need to tell them what we want because they keep it on file. Also we used to take him other places and he would be there for 5+ hours which is horrible because I know he hates it. At Pawllywood the longest he is ever there is 2 hours which is amazing. We have used Pawllywood for daycare and I am so happy we tried them and that they are in Massapequa! When I first went there I got a tour of the facility and was able to see inside where the dogs play - it is so clean. The outside area with turf is so nice as well. I know my dogs do not like to run on concrete or wood chips, like at the dog park, so this is a nice treat for them. The staff/owners were so nice and I felt they really got to know my dogs. When I picked them up this was the first time they didn't stink of pee after a dog daycare experience. We can watch them from their live web cameras which I LOVE. At the end of the day they sent us a report card including what our dogs did and who they played with. I will definitely be coming back for daycare and trying them for grooming/boarding! read more

We were customers since this facility opened in 2020. Now that ownership has changed we see the negative impact. Recently my dog was injured while receiving her post-boarding bath. Her foot became trapped in the grooming grate on the bottom of the dryer, and they could not stop the bleeding from the damage that occurred to her foot and toe nails (at least one completely ripped out, two more would soon follow). She was rushed to the vet. Initially we were told all medical expenses would be covered by Pawllywood, and they did not have us pay for the boarding. So although we had to leave vacation early due to this injury, to this point we were happy with their customer service on the issue. When we submitted remaining medical invoices for our dog's follow up vet visits (under $200), we were suddenly told they would not be paying. This as per the "regional mgr." They actually said in their response that it was my dog's 'long nails' that resulted in her foot becoming stuck in the grooming grate, implying the injury was our dog's our fault. If so, then why did you tell us at time of injury that many dogs had been getting stuck in those grates, and you would be replacing all of the grates immediately? Why did you tell us you would cover all follow-up expenses? Our dog gets groomed monthly, so there's no way her 'long nails' caused this injury. It was caused by dangerous equipment and I'll guess lack of supervision. PS - our vet still says you didn't give us the full story on the injury. So close to good service and resolution of the issue, until refusing remaining medical expenses. Hope that last $200 was worth it. Never again, Pawllywood. read more

My dog came back sick 2 out of the 3 times we boarded him here. He's now 1 week into Kennel Cough which warranted 2 trips to the vet. He's not doing great but im praying her gets better soon. The first time he came home sick from this place he was diagnosed with Pink eye and a skin bacterial infection. 2 times is no coincidence in my book. They are obviously careless in looking for signs with sick dogs that disgusting dirty people overlook and still board their dogs AND this place uses very harsh chemicals that cause reactions to their skin. Don't bother bringing your dog here for an "evaluation" unless they are an angel of a dog. These people don't know how to handle dogs unless you have a lifeless, old, no personality zombie of a dog. They were under staffed and most likely turned us away because they just don't want to deal with a hyper dog. Before brining our miniature bull terrier in I spoke to the owner for quite a bit over the phone about his activity level and he reassured me they deal with all temperaments of dogs here. My dog is a year old and has a ton of energy, which wears off after adequate playtime. The staff was on their knees and my dog was giving them kisses when we arrived. There was an aggressive dog that came toward my dog growling and he didn't react one bit. Our dog has zero aggression, no anxiety, and absolutely loves dogs & humans. They called us an hour into his group play evaluation to come pick him up because he was mounting. I watched the cameras the entire time, he play mounted a total of 3 times. They told me that he is too hyper for this environment. These people do not know how to handle dogs. Simply tell him off or pull him off by the collar. They told me that he tried to nip one of their handlers- my dog does not bite. Tried to nip is different than "he did nip." They are not professional dog handlers & can only handle the easiest of dog breeds. Don't waste your time unless you have a foo foo dog. If they don't want to handle high energy breeds they should tell you over the phone. I am sure it's easier for them to deal with dogs that just lay down all day. I am giving this place two stars because we really wanted to like this place. It's very clean, people are nice and responsive and dogs seem to be happy... UPDATE: Owner has told me my dog bit handlers, when we picked him up we specifically asked if he bit anyone which they replied no not at all... Our dog is on Trazadone to help ease hyperactivity in his breed (which he is truly calm because of taking), this is not for anxiety - Just a note that you can't put any medications on your dogs application for this place as they will profile your dog. I spoke with a guy named Keith who was extremely rude. I was trying to schedule a stay for my 12 year old dog and all he did was keep trying to find ways to avoid accepting my dog. I expressed that my dog was older so he keeps to himself and Keith kept reiterating that this is a playful environment so if your dog isn't playful then this may not be the place for him. I told him I never stated my dog wasn't playful, he is just older. Keith decides to get into a shouting match with me by cutting me off because I mentioned that sometimes I keep a diaper on him to avoid accidents. I then tried to find out how they let the dogs use the bathroom to see if this would be a good fit for him and he kept cutting me off. Not allowing me to express why I brought up the diaper in the first place. I never boarded him where he had to use a diaper but just wanted to give him insight on how I take care of my dog.
