This is definitely the one to go to.... First they have three rooms to choose from unlike most places. The rooms are fun and challenging. I had my daughter's 11th Birthday party here and I would have to say it was probably the best one ever. I had originally 10 guests coming and the day of the party of course we had two cancellations and I for sure thought I was going to have to pay for them so I wasn't even going to ask but they actually told me they were only going to charge me for the number of kids there. That never happens. I was very grateful. For a party they include personalized invitations that were awesome. The party room was fully decked out with party decorations they provide 2 slices of pizza,varieties of drinks and cake and all the paper products . If your kid is like mine and won't eat cake they will take off a few more dollars. They invite you to watch on the monitors to see how it's going and keep you posted if you like. The professionalism of the staff is stellar. I really can't say enough things or maybe I can. I had a reservation for last night at 7:00pm. I live over an hour away, so I set out at 5:30pm to be there on time. I arrived at 6:30pm because my confirmation email asked that I arrive early. When I arrived the door was locked with a sign on it asking to call when you arrive. I called at least five times and noone answered. Then at 6:50pm (10 minutes before my reservation), I get an email canceling my appointment "because of covid". The website is still taking reservations, noone ever called me to cancel, and I think someone just didn't want to show up to work yesterday. Meanwhile I had to waste over an hour driving in each direction. Completely unprofessional and would recommend people staying away and going to one of the countless other escape rooms in the area. read more

We hosted my 13 year old and 4 friends here, and each of them agreed that this was one of the best things they've ever done together as a group! We booked and paid online, which was a seamless process. We received reminders before hand via email, which was welcoming communication. When we arrived, our host welcomed us and was thorough in her explanation of what the mystery entailed and what the object was. As parent, I intended to go in but decided not to as it seemed it would be adequate for the kids to go in themselves. Instead, our host welcomed me to watch from the back - which was so fun. We could hear the kids laughing as they tried to figure out the challenges and work together to get through the puzzle. When they did request a clue, the information provided by the host was enough to assist but not too much, so they still needed to use their young minds to figure out what to do. Overall, awesome experience. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of a fun place for a get together for adults or teenagers. read more

Tried to go, online showed availability every hour; showed up (40 min drive) and doors were locked and no one answered the phone. My daughter was highly disappointed. We did not pay online for a session prior because we had a question regarding a 4yr old but could not reach anyone via phone to help us. read more

I love escape rooms, but this wasn't one of my favorites. This was our first time here and we had the room to ourselves which we love. There were plenty of props around which was nice, but we ended up solving a couple of clues without having all the pieces so to speak. We had one key that opened multiple boxes which the staff said shouldn't have happened and that maybe they 'just didn't close it properly while setting up'. There was also an electronic factor where we had to follow a 'beat' but if you followed the actual beat it didn't work, you had to do it slowed down which is something we wouldn't have done if we didn't receive a clue to tell us to do so. I just feel like if there are electronic factors involved it should work properly. None of the clues were far fetched though which was nice, you were provided with everything you'd need to solve them and didn't have to think too far outside the box. read more

My mom's coworker told her about what a fun experience this was, and that there was a coupon in the local newspaper. We went to check it out on a rainy afternoon and had a great time. The staff was friendly and attentive and we solved the mystery with less than a minute to spare! I was really impressed with how well the owners timed and planned it. I was visiting from Hawaii and my friend and I were driving by and saw a sign for the place. We called and they were very responsive.we were able to stop by and get right in. When we arrived we were met with owner who was very nice. We bought the Groupon which saved us a few dollars, but totally worth the price of admission. The game itself was very challenging, but they help you based on your level. We never felt stuck to the point where we wanted to quit. Would highly recommend this place! Keep it up! read more

This was an awesome experience! The staff was courteous and willing to help in any way they could. They would give you more hints then are normally allowed and that helped us so much. I was in a group of 4 doing a room that was rated 8/10 in difficulty. And it definitely was! They had many puzzles and brain teasers which were awesome to figure out! We booked for a girl's night out to celebrate a 40th birthday. This was our first stop of the night and everyone had such a good time. The staff are super friendly and the location is great! They have their own parking lot which is nice for Port Jeff. We did Exit Protocol and it was very challenging! Can't say enough good things about this place. Not only was the escape room itself cleverly planned out and exciting, but the staff here is unbelievable. We went with a bachelorette party and Jay and his wife were incredibly kind and patient with our drunken shenanigans. My friends and I would do escape rooms every day if we could. Found this place from Groupon and decided to take the hour drive to give it a chance. Hour Escape is now one of my favorite escape locations. The building from the outside is very large and nice looking. The owners were super friendly and you could tell how much they love what they are doing. Jay was our game master and made sure we never got too far behind and had the chance to escape. Unlike other rooms, you are given 5 clues. Although that seems like too much you really need all of them because there is much to do in the room. The room itself was awesome. We did the Exit Protocol room and got out with just a couple minutes left. The room was very large with a hidden door nobody expected. We all had to work together to escape. Cant wait to come back and try the other room. If you love escape rooms I highly recommend coming to Hour Escape in Port Jefferson, you will not be disappointed. read more
