I'm originally from CT but now live in CA, so I'm always dying for some delicious & authentic Italian food when I visit back home. This deli definitely did not disappoint! I opted for the Pizza sub - chicken cutlet, mozz, and pepperoni - on a hard roll. They asked if I wanted to add some sauce so of course I had to listen to the pro's suggestion! This sandwich was perfect. I was sufficiently full from half of it but I had to push myself over the edge and eat the whole thing because it was just good enough to do that. The guys working here are also so nice and funny; they had great personalities. They gave us paper plates and lots of napkins as we went to eat at one of their small tables outside, and even knocked on the window to see how we were enjoying our meal as we ate which I loved, lol. Sadly I not live around here, but if so I'd be a frequent patron! Besides all the tasty subs to choose from, they also have a variety of hot food and cold salads, as well as some fresh pasta and other Italian foods to buy and cook at home. The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.
