VIBES: Welcome to Greenwich Village it's a historic neighborhood with nice buildings and cafes. The iconic spot is nestled in a lively corner of NYC with lots of foot traffic (tourists and locals alike), so parking isn't ideal -- I'd suggest subway or ride-share. The place has big energy: you feel like you're in an iconic, storied part of the city, which makes it fun and a little nostalgic thinking about all the episodes and references. I took no longer than like 15 minutes. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. If you're looking for a spot that mixes pop-culture nostalgia, solid fare, and a lively NYC neighborhood vibe -- this one's worth a stop. It leans more "moment experience" than "hidden gem," but its fun factor and overall quality make it memorable. Located by East 38th to East 41st street this art installation of lights was pretty cool to look at and walk through. I read there was over 17,000 lights here connected by fiber optic cables. There was information on the artist and what this all meant. Bathrooms too which was nice. Overall, it was just an OK experience and not all that exciting.

Back on Thursday, February 1, I was able to secure online three General Admission tickets for 3/8/2024 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are free of charge. Unfortunately, on 3/8/2024, Field of Light at Freedom Plaza was cancelled due to weather and we were advised that our tickets will be honored on a future open night. After finding out that the last night to walk through the art installation is November 30th, 2024, my friend and I went on Friday, November 29th. We were the first ones on line to enter the installation. There was a line for ticketed customers and standby customers. Doors opened a few minutes prior to 6:00pm. Our tickets were checked and then we went through security. By the entrance, there was a tent with information about British artist Bruce Munro who is best known for producing large immersive light-based installations. My friend and I leisurely walked through the winding path art installation with the city's iconic skyline and the East River waterfront in the background for about 30 minutes. The installation spans across six acres in Manhattan and features an array of 18,750 lowlight, fiber-optic stemmed spheres that illuminate with a slow subtle change of hue. It was a beautiful art installation and so glad I was able to visit it before it closed. Staff were available throughout the exhibit and were friendly.

I had just turned 2 when we came to the U.S. from Hong Kong on one of the coldest February days. My mom always tells the story of how we landed at JFK with 2 feet of snow up to her knees. My beloved grandfather had settled in America 4 decades earlier before we arrived. Living in the outskirts of Chinatown has helped me not lose sight of where I came from. NYC's Chinatown spans roughly 50 blocks compare to SF's 30 square blocks. The city is one of the most expensive places to live in, but Chinatown offers tons of cheap eats. One can get an authentic delicious meal for under $10. I definitely miss some of the OG places when I was a kid like the old movie theaters and the bahn mi place ($2.50 a sandwich) under the subway tracks on East Broadway but it is cool to see new trendy places popping up. Here is my list of must visits: - Chinatown Ice Cream Factory (Asian-inspired flavors) - Hop Kee Restaurant (Authentic Cantonese food) - Joe's Shanghai (best dumplings) - Mei Lai Wah (best bbq roast pork & pineapple buns) - Peking Duck House (OG) - Spongies Cafe (my new favorite spot) - Xi'an Famous Foods - Wah Fung No. 1 (fresh roast pork and duck meats over rice) - Wo Hop (Authentic Hong Kong Cuisine) And the list goes on... I have visited many Chinatowns around the world, I might be a bit bias but I think we have one of the best one hands down. Come on down and see the best CNY Lion Dances (they train rigorously throughout the year) performed by the New York Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club aka Hung Ching. My BIL has been a part of this club for decades. It was founded in 1956, making it 70 years old this year.

Located right next to Soho, Chinatown is an excellent place to come if visiting New York. This is a lovely little neighbourhood in Queens, with plenty of shops, ethnic gems, a couple of boba spots, and lots of trendy food places. It's kind of a cross between Flushing and Long Island, because despite an Asian flavour and being just down the road from Koreatown and of course Chinatown Queens, you're starting to see a little bit of the leafy spacious nature of Long Island - but only to the degree that it's less crowded. So it's a bit of a mixed bag but it's definitely really like the edge of New York City and I come here often. Do you come here often?

I'm usually with my daughter and she's not interested in spending time taking in the outdoor sites. We usually head for the Mall and Cheesecake Factory. I really like this area because it reminds me of our Hudson River Greenway in Manhattan. I enjoy being near the water. I definitely plan to return to spend a full day walking and taking in the views. I'm going to pack a lunch and really enjoy the fresh air! It's a historic area with lots of photo opportunities. I've got to find someone that would like to go with me. I don't know my way around as well as I do on my side of the river!! I usually stay near the train station. I'm recommending a trip in the Spring!

After a few minutes in line I couldn't feel my feet. I've learned a lot about buying tickets for a show in the past twenty or more years. I won't put myself through that again. What I will do is visit the beautiful bright colored steps. I can finally take photos without heads in my lens. You get the 360 degree view of Times Square. You can have a seat to rest from the walk too. I love the color these stairs add to this overall bland space. Father Duffy is close by but make sure your pockets are zipped or buttoned. His spirit can't protect you if you have an opening for sticky fingers to slide into. If you like the excitement of neon and commercials on billboards, this is a great spot. I miss driving on a highway and reading billboards. I come here to get my billboard and neon fix!

They are  custom-crafted glass pieces are made to withstand thousands of pounds at a time and they take a lot of abuse on a regular basis.
