Every year I feel like the decoration pool widens. I've been coming here every year for the past 5-6 years. I brought my parents, little kids, my dog, friends etc and they all seemed to love it as much as I did. I know they skipped one year- read an article about it but the next year i feel like there were more decorations. Really gets me in the Christmas spirit!

I've been coming here since I was in high school, and if you can believe it the pictures don't even do it justice (my photos are also 4 years old- it's only gotten bigger!). I remember the first time I saw it, I was just roaming the neighborhood with a friend and we saw what looked like floodlights meant to signal passing planes shining from blocks away. The closer we got the brighter the lights shown, until we were directly in front of pure Christmas magic:) In 2014 the owners of the house, the Lynch family, won a reality TV show competition for the best Christmas light display, and folks come from all over the world to visit the house. Mr. Lynch is a retired firefighter, and takes special care to put all his wires *under* his lawn. What makes that particularly cool is that visitors can actually walk all over the property and really get up close to the decorations. There's usually a donation box up as well to benefit a charity organization. They even do a smaller, but no less awesome, Halloween display. If you're anywhere remotely in the area during the holidays, it's definitely worth checking out!

I don't know what happened, but the lights are not up this year. There's literally a single decoration on the address listed here. I'd heard such great things about it, but now I feel like I'm late to the party.

The most amazing, magical Christmas house.

Crazy lights. They deserve a 5 star. Can't imagine how their electricity bill looks like this month.

A huge plus is the paid parking lot around the corner with an exit onto 150th St, just a few doors down from the restaurant. Anyone familiar with the area knows street parking can be challenging , so that definitely made things easier. I came here to celebrate a dear friend's milestone birthday, and since she loves Italian food, this was her pick. We started by sharing the fried calamari, which was nicely fried and included both rings and tentacles. Neither of us eat the tentacles, so we pushed those aside. The calamari comes with a choice of mild, medium, or spicy tomato sauce -- we chose medium -- though honestly, I'm happy with just a squeeze of lemon on fried calamari. Each entrée comes with a choice of side dishes, and you can also upgrade both the pasta and sauce options. My friend ordered the Chicken Sorrentino, topped with prosciutto, eggplant, roasted peppers, and melted mozzarella over chicken cutlets. For her side, she upgraded to gnocchi and then upgraded again to Bolognese sauce. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was tender and juicy. Both dishes came with two thin cutlets each, but between the bread, garlic knots, and calamari, we only managed to eat one cutlet apiece and took the rest home. The Marsala sauce was flavorful and tasty. I personally would've loved more mushrooms, but overall it was still very good. I chose roasted potatoes on the side, and from the one bite I managed before getting too full, they were delicious. If you're in the neighborhood -- or even nearby -- this place is definitely worth trying. One thing to note: they only serve beer and wine, no full liquor bar. My Pinot Grigio was decent, and my friend enjoyed a light beer with her meal.

That was definitely a disappointment since we were looking forward to pizza, but we decided to stay and make the best of it. From the moment we walked in, the owner gave us such a warm and genuine welcome that we immediately felt comfortable. Angela, who was both our server and the manager, was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience very pleasant. For dinner, I ordered the Cod Oreganata with a side of roasted potatoes. The cod was very good, but unfortunately the potatoes were undercooked and quite hard. My friend had the escarole and bean soup along with Mom's Famous Meatball, and both were absolutely delicious. The fresh bread with the tomato spread was a standout, and I even made my own little olive oil dip with salt and pepper (although I couldn't help wishing there was some balsamic vinegar to go with it!). The only hiccup came at the end of the meal. A staff member who was trying to help accidentally picked up our check, even though he wasn't our server. This created some confusion with our cash and credit card payments. We later learned that he is deaf/hard of hearing, and it was clear he was simply trying to assist. While it did make settling the bill a bit of a hassle, we appreciated his willingness to help and didn't hold it against the restaurant. Overall, despite a few bumps; the missing pizza we expected, the undercooked potatoes, and the billing mix-up... we had a nice experience thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, Angela's excellent service, and several delicious dishes. We'd be happy to return and try more of the menu.
