Grew up in Beechhurst and somehow never visited Riviera till last night. Went with a friend at 5pm and was asked if we had a reservation. We didn't but thankfully snagged a table before the entire restaurant filled. The service was amazing, the wait staff was so friendly and the dining room was bustling. Got the calamari to start and then the eggplant parm with pasta which could have easily fed two people. Can't wait for excuse to come back and left with leftovers for days.

Have been here a few times and forgot to write a review. Delicious food with good portion sizes. Family feeling with nice managers.

It was a nice cozy resturant. Came with a large group of friends. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He answered our questions and made sure we had all of our orders. We ordered the chicken parm, penne vodka, prime rib steak, fettuccine carbonara, and stuffed chicken breast. The portions were huge and there was delicious. For dessert had the tiramisu. That was good too. I would definetly come back and try other items on the menu.

My friend and I were pleasantly surprised with this spot. We were generally bringing down the average age of the customer, but you could tell the people dining here were regulars and knew "where it's at!" The portions are huge. My gnocchi and my friend's eggplant parm were good for at least one additional meal. The gnocchi was very delicious, and I was particularly drawn to the sauce. We also got a nice piece of tiramisu. So fluffy. The wines by the glass were not totally obvious to me. I might have gotten one in a split-minute decision if the menu had been clearer. Our waiters were fine. They seemed a little rigid or stuffy, but overall, the feeling of the space was pretty classic.

This is a pretty decent Italian restaurant for the price you pay. The only thing I didn't quite like was the cold prepacked butter that came with the bread loaf. We had grilled calamari and shrimp pasta dishes both of which were quite decent. Good service and nice interior. Nothing too striking but you get a good bang for the buck. Would recommend checking out!

Came here on Wednesday evening with a friend, and I was surprised to find it as busy as it was. The restaurant was about half full at 7 PM and everyone was busy. We ordered a salad to share, and the restaurant was kind enough to split it for us! We each ordered our own entrees - I got the eggplant parm and my friend got the gnocchi. Both were delicious. I was also incredibly impressed by the portion size for the price! So many places that charge those prices will give you barely any food, but these portions were substantial with us both taking home leftovers. We also got dessert to share, and decided on the tiramisu which was flavorful and very light. The restaurant feels very old school Italian. My only fault was the server situation was a bit strange. You could only order food with one guy, but then other people would be around to help? I found it really odd, and also found some of staff to be a bit surly. That being said, the food was good so will probably be back!

Local Italian restaurant, been around for decades. Great service with old school wait staff. Delicious food, came quickly and piping hot. There were eight of us and the pretax bill came to just over $300.

Came here on a Saturday night with a friend. Found this place via Yelp, read the reviews and saw pics and wanted to give this place a shot. Made reservations that day and thank goodness I did because once I made it there on time I was told by the host it would be about 10 minutes. Ended up just having a drink at the bar. The place has a classic Italian vibe, dim and cozy. Kicked it off with fried calamari, it was good but I wish it was crispier. For my main, I got the pollo parmigiana with ziti pasta which was really good and huge portion. Overall had a good experience here and I would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Italian food. * highly recommend making reservations * fair prices * street parking * good service

    Penne ala vodka

Ordered take out twice from here and the pasta does not disappoint. Our favorite is the penne ala vodka and Farfalle riviera. Both pastas were creamy and flavorful. The portion is big. I was not able to finish it in one sitting. The only downside is the fried calamari. It was soggy and not crispy but the calamari itself is very flavor and good. It is good by itself without the sauce. Maybe because we ordered take out and the steam made it soggy but it would be really good if it is crispy. I saw on the menu that they have early dinner special. Would like to try that one day.

Next time I am totally getting one to-go so that I can extend the magical experience. They run them as a special often since they're so popular, if they have them-- get them. Orrico had awesome specials going on but I was in the mood for comfort classics. They still uphold, in my opinion, the BEST chicken parm in the neighborhood. The chicken is not dried out, the texture is perfect and the sauce to cheese ratio is on point. We also ordered the sole franchese. That dish is so light, fresh and classic. Last but certainly not least, the short rib egg rolls are just so good. Fried perfectly but not oily, the tender shortrib, the awesome cheese pull, the rich brown gravy. Truly, a masterful creation. I always knew that service and food were great but what I didnt know was that they are also mixologist! Usually I would just get wine but every table around me were ordering martinis and they looked great so I ordered a classic dirty. Perfect amount of olive brine and nicely balanced. Everytime we go visit we leave with leftovers and I still have the feeling of looking forward to my next visit. In our neighborhood they are a diamond-- great establishment. The restaurant truly defines fine dining, and it's a wonderfully comfortable, clean spot that is perfect for friends catching up over a long meal. We came back specifically to try their three-course brunch menu this time ($49.95 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert), and it did not disappoint. As soon as we were seated, they brought over their complimentary focaccia bread with olives and olive oil to start the meal off right and my friend could not get enough of it! . For my appetizer, I ordered the lobster roll, and although the seafood was impressively fresh, I honestly should have gone with a lighter salad only because the roll felt like a bit too much bread alongside the delicious starter focaccia! For my main, I had the steak and eggs, which was hearty and cooked to my liking. I also asked for a side order of the pancake, which to me, curiously tasted exactly like a sweet, cornbread! To top it all off, we opted for the continuous pour option for an additional $20, which is a pretty good deal. For dessert, the bread pudding was phenomenal as always. Now, it happens to be one of my absolute favorite desserts, so I might be a little biased, but the friends who were with me completely agreed and thoroughly enjoyed it as well! What keeps us coming back here just as much as the fresh cuisine is the top-tier hospitality. We had the absolute pleasure of having Angel as our server today, which was fantastic since I've been fortunate enough to have him look after my party on a previous visit. On top of that, the management is always so incredibly sweet and welcoming. It is honestly so good to feel genuinely welcomed every single time you visit a place you love. Definitely a 10/10 spot for a weekend brunch, a date night, or getting the group together!

My husband and I split the pasta fagioli and my sister had the minestrone soup for our appetizers. WOW the pasta fagioli soup was FANTASTIC! It was one of the best pasta fagioli soups we both ever had! My sister loved the minestrone soup. For dinner we had the red snapper livornese, eggplant parm, and the fried shrimp & calamari. A huge plus is the paid parking lot around the corner with an exit onto 150th St, just a few doors down from the restaurant. Anyone familiar with the area knows street parking can be challenging , so that definitely made things easier. I came here to celebrate a dear friend's milestone birthday, and since she loves Italian food, this was her pick. We started by sharing the fried calamari, which was nicely fried and included both rings and tentacles. Neither of us eat the tentacles, so we pushed those aside. The calamari comes with a choice of mild, medium, or spicy tomato sauce -- we chose medium -- though honestly, I'm happy with just a squeeze of lemon on fried calamari. Each entrée comes with a choice of side dishes, and you can also upgrade both the pasta and sauce options. My friend ordered the Chicken Sorrentino, topped with prosciutto, eggplant, roasted peppers, and melted mozzarella over chicken cutlets. For her side, she upgraded to gnocchi and then upgraded again to Bolognese sauce. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was tender and juicy. Both dishes came with two thin cutlets each, but between the bread, garlic knots, and calamari, we only managed to eat one cutlet apiece and took the rest home. The Marsala sauce was flavorful and tasty. I personally would've loved more mushrooms, but overall it was still very good. I chose roasted potatoes on the side, and from the one bite I managed before getting too full, they were delicious. If you're in the neighborhood -- or even nearby -- this place is definitely worth trying. One thing to note: they only serve beer and wine, no full liquor bar. My Pinot Grigio was decent, and my friend enjoyed a light beer with her meal.

What I remember most vividly was their wonderful focaccia, baked in the restaurant's pizza oven. Unfortunately, since the restaurant's renovation, the pizza oven has been removed, and with it one of the things that made Villaggio memorable to me. Our meal got off to an awkward start when our entrées arrived before we had even finished our appetizers. Since the restaurant was not particularly crowded on a Saturday evening, the rushed pacing was surprising and took away from what should have been a more relaxed dining experience. As for the food itself, it was perfectly acceptable, but nothing stood out. In an area with no shortage of excellent Italian restaurants, Villaggio simply didn't distinguish itself from the competition. Perhaps our expectations were shaped by fond memories of visits years ago, but this meal left us underwhelmed. While there was nothing particularly wrong with the experience, there was also little that would encourage us to return when there are so many other Italian options nearby.
