I stumbled into Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar unexpectedly and discovered a true hidden gem. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported straight to Italy; from the décor to the espresso and pastries, everything is authentic. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient while we decided what to try. The chocolate cake was phenomenal (and I'm not even a big chocolate person). Moist, rich, and not overly sweet, this is now my husbands latest obsession. We also tried the sfogliatella and the bomboloni with crema pasticcera and pistachio -- both a solid 10/10. Popped in while I was on a walk, was immediately impressed by the dessert cases. I'm a sucker for anything rainbow cookie! However it also makes me a tough critic and I'm always looking for my new favorite. Tutto Calcio didn't take my top spot, but I still really enjoyed what I tried. The tiramisu exceeded my expectations. Nice coffee flavor and perfectly sweet. The rainbow cookies are a little irregular and on the cakier side whereas I like mine a little denser. I put them in the fridge and liked them more chilled! This bakery seemed like a favored local hangout. Service was casually paced but it's clear they know their customers and have a presence in the neighborhood. I'll be back to try some more desserts and maybe some savory food too! read more

What a great find, we found this spot because we were craving Acai and then noticed this spot in between the stores. My husband and I got a bunch of stuff to take out. The service was good and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual bite to eat. The caponata was so good, it even has pignoli nuts in it, sooo Sicilian. I had it with some Italian bread that I asked for, some of the best caponata I've ever had. The perfect ratio of celery, olives, capers, eggplant, and so on. We also got rice balls with meat (10/10), a puff pastry stuffed with spinach and feta (10/10), a pepperoni pizza which was more like a focaccia with toppings (very good, but not traditional pizza) and a couple of apple turnovers. Ordered around 9am to have a nice breakfast only for it to come 2 hours later and get no real response from the establishment itself. Was only told the driver had left around 10am and was dealing with a street closure. Food eventually arrived after 11am, everything was cold, the large coffee was mainly just foam and the delivery guy just handed it off like it was no big deal. I've tried this place a few times trying to give it a fair chance and figure out how it received so many positive reviews. The pizza they have...I can't even call it that. The dough is so dense, flavorless and can't even chew it, while the cheese and sauce is sparse and again pretty flavorless. Pastries and bombolini aren't that great. Pasta dishes look hastily put together and don't give the sauces advertised. Instead of bolognese, they threw in what looked like half a chopped up meatball since they weren't part of the sauce and just a few pieces. Out of the entrees we tried, the chicken francese was the only decent one, but inconsistent. Every time it would taste different - super lemony, barely any lemon, mystery taste thrown in. Their pasta without any sauce on it tastes really weird. It tasted like rotted play-doh. Their coffee/ espresso drinks are a pass for me. Can't recommend this place unless you have no sense of taste or enjoy dining on below mediocre cuisine. It's a shame since I was hoping this would turn into my go-to coffee and Italian place. read more

Tutto Calcio is a cute shop tucked away in Whitestone that has a great staff and interior- shout out to all the real football (ie not American football lol) players that they have up on the walls, super cool concept. However, their items are very much a hit or miss. The coffee and the lobster tails lacked flavor and weren't really great at all. However, the bombolinis were as good as they looked and were absolutely fantastic. Basically, you can either go really wrong or really right in this place and it's up to you to find out! read more

We went to try their cannoli, which, with the disappearance of so many small bakeries, are now among the best around. We tried the classic cannoli, chocolate dipped and pistachio. The staff is friendly and attentive, but move a bit slowly, adding to the authenticity On weekends they sell a thick-crusted, tasty assortment of local made breads. Tutto Calcio means Everything Football (Soccer to us Yanks), but that's not everything this place does. Although they have some outstanding looking meals, sandwiches and pizza my focus is usually on their outstanding pastries and sweet treats. The cornetto (Italian term for Croissant) are flaky and delicious - especially when they are generously (and I mean generous - these things absolutely nearly exploded with delicious filling) with creamy custards, cannoli cream, or citrus tinged berry preserves which are decadent and worth the caloric price of admission. Their Bombolini - plump little donut spheres filled with various deliciousness as well. These donuts along with their twists have a certain density to the dough and flavor that reminds me of zeppole, but elevated. The cannoli, cartoccio (the plumper cousin of the cannoli) and sfogliatelle are on the money. I haven't tried everything this place offers, but from my experience its all outstanding and certainly puts this place as one of the top Italian bakeries in NYC. They serve real meals here (Giovanna's Kitchen) along with pizza and sandwiches but I confess I have yet to try. Of course perfectly made espresso and other coffee drinks are available. Gelato is available as well. The attractive staff are always so friendly and helpful. Along with the bright colorful interior it always makes me feel really happy coming inside. Such a cute coffee shop! This is def a hidden gem to me since it's out on the outskirts of Whitestone. I was looking for a place to grab some sweets after dinner and came across Tutto on Yelp. My mom was in the mood for a coffee so we decided to stop in and were very happy we did. We bought a few sweets including cookies and cannolis and they did not disappoint. They even threw in some free sweets for my little cousins which was so nice! All the employees were very friendly and engaging. My mom got a latte and my aunt got a cappuccino. They have a hugeee selection of food - everything from croissants and cannolis to gelato to pizzas and sandwiches- you can get your sweet or savory tooth fix here. The staff is always friendly as well! This is probably the closest you can get to feeling like you're at a cafe in Europe. They have lots of cool soccer decor all over, from the different club scarves hanging above the counter to the huge soccer player mural on the wall. My only critique is that their jam-filled pastries are overloaded which makes them overly sweet and overpowering.
