We explained what we wanted and accepted the price she gave without any negotiations. We even provided pictures of what we would like the garments to look like. We had the following issues: 1- Lack of Meeting Promised Deadlines - 2 garments were not done and needed to be delivered to us in India. One never arrived. I asked for a refund for the outfit that did not arrive and Mani said she can't be responsible for delivery. Normally, I would agree, but here not meeting the promised deadline is what caused this last minute problem. 2- Overall Garment Issues - One of the final garments for my son did not look anything like the inspiration photos. It lacked the two colors requested, green and cream. It was only green. The beading on one of my garments was done in gold, when I specifically asked for silver. A saree that I asked for had a plain skirt, when I asked for silver beading on it. Also, when I had the purple saree pressed, the hem buckled, see picture below. One of the pajama outfits for my husband, tore as it was not made well, when he was taking it off. 3- Her measurements were off on some of my husbands outfits. She said it was,because he gained weight. We know that he only gained 2 pounds so this was not true. I was in an urgent situation and Chhavi really came through for me! I was set to attend an Indian…read morewedding and sangeet over Memorial Day weekend, but I had been recovering from wrist surgery and hadn't had the time or ability to shop for lehengas. To make matters worse, I found out that week that no one would be able to help me pleat and drape the saris that I'd planned to bring. I desperately searched for someone who could pre-pin my saris on short notice, but I didn't have much hope due to the timing. Luckily I found Chhavi, who not only responded to my query almost immediately, but found a way to accommodate my travel timing (I drove from Santa Rosa) so that I could fit our appointment into my work schedule. When I got there, she quickly measured me and explained exactly how she would pleat, iron and pin each sari. When I told her that I had failed to find a lehenga in time, she gave me a recommendation for a designer close by that I could check out while she worked on my saris. But when I mentioned I was concerned about the cost and time to tailor the fit, she took it a step further - she offered me one of her very own beautiful lehengas at a much lower cost! So within 90 minutes of me arriving, she had perfectly pleated, ironed and pinned two saris, she had acted as designer bringing me three lehengas to choose from, and had even altered the top for the lehenga that I chose. She also sent me detailed video instructions on how to put on and secure the pre-pinned sari. I had gone from being utterly unprepared to feeling like a princess ready to own the dance floor. Messaged the owner right away that we bought the same color by mistake can we just exchange to different color in same value or more? They replied NO! Requested several times that it was an honest mistake. We are not trying to return, just bought few hours ago, even exchange, but Nope! Now I am stuck with 3 sets of same color ;( Just because you made your policy no returns and exchange doesn't mean all customers are same or they are cheats. My wife--the shopper in our family--was even more worried than I was about how and where to find appropriate attire for this wedding and we were both very much relieved by the help and attitude we had the pleasure of experiencing at Kaash. Unfortunately, with a 6-month old, they have not had the time to update all of their social media so, for now, ignore the posted hours--there aren't any. In fact, I'm glad I reached out before attempting to visit their store front or we likely would've been out of luck. But they did reply to my Yelp inquiry and to my voicemail and informed us they only open by appointment. So we made one with only an hour or so advance notice today, and found the perfect garments for our friends' wedding! They have a great selection of clothing and the woman we met is very good with assessing sizes right out the gate so we didn't waste much time trying things on and found what we liked quickly. And it's really neat to learn that all of the designs and materials are their own so we don't have to worry about showing up at the wedding wearing the same thing as any other guests! We can't wait, now, for our friends to see us at the wedding--it should be a great day! =)

The owner (I think) told me that 25% of her clients are Caucasian women - especially around the holiday time. This makes sense as these beautifully decorated gowns are very dressy. You would totally stand out in your memorable outfit, no matter who you are! Sparklies and intrique beading and bright, wonderful colors. The dresses run between $200-$700 on average. Not surprising as they are handmade and very detail-oriented. I saw an orange sari (for $500? I think) that was outrageously gorgeous.
