Houston Galaxy Halloween is a decent Halloween shop with plenty of parking. They have a huge selection of costumes, masks, accessories, and decor. The pricing was comparable to Spirit Halloween, cheaper in some areas and a tad bit more expensive in others, but reasonable. My biggest takeaway, however, was that we were being followed throughout the store. I was with my mom and husband so it felt humiliating, especially because they have cameras in the store. We were looking at plastic animal skeletons and two employees came over pretending to look through stock and kept watching us. Then the owner, I believe, came up to talk to us. Now, all the staff are nice and helpful and the owner was so sweet, but I didn't like being followed around the store because I kept looking at the employees eyeing us in the aisles which looks suspicious of course. I did buy a skeleton bear but because of that entire visit, I won't be coming back. I've been stalked before and definitely don't like it when I'm shopping. read more

The worst experience thus far. I purchased 2 costumes for my children on 10/30/2025 in the amount of $143.95. My card was charged 3 different times for the same amount totaling $431.85 for 2 children costumes. I called the store and spoke to Larry Jones who assured me my card would be refunded the following day. When it was not refunded, I went back to the store and spoke to him in person, and also had to exchange my costumes because one defective and the other was missing parts. Mr. Jones asked me to give the refund until Tuesday of the following week which I did. As of today, 11/24/2025, I still have not received my refund, and they are no longer answering my calls or responding to my messages. I had to file a dispute with my bank, and it is going to take until February of 2026 for the claim to be finalized. So, I will not receive my refund until next year. Terrible experience. Would give this place zero stars if I could, Me (A white woman) went there yesterday afternoon with my boyfriend (A Hispanic man) and had a horrible experience with an employee. She seemed very kind to me, asking if I needed any help. But once she walked past me, and got to my boyfriend she yanked a helmet out of his hand. Why? No reason. He was going to buy it if it had not been for her insisting she take it from him and yanking it out of his hand. Okay so I already had a costume in mind when I went to the store ( I saw it online) but decided to check it out first. Before going to galaxy I tried other stores and couldn't find the same one I saw online. Went there with my 1 year baby....at the door they provided me a shopping cart I felt welcomed! The nice lady asked if I needed any help and she guided me to the certain costume aisle that I wanted! And I found the exactly one that I wanted! Te store really as a great costume selection along with make up and accessories!!!! At the check out they were so friendly!they took my cart at the end to put it back ( to avoid me doing the work :holding baby and bags + cart) and those little things I really value as a costumer! At the end My costume was $12.00 dollars more then the competitor online, but just because I felt welcome there ( even thought I had a baby that sometimes can cry or give a tantrum) they still treated me as a welcomed costumer and provided me a very good, and warming costumer service and for that reason I did bought from them!! I came in twice yesterday- both times I was greeted with a smile and sent off with a smile. The amount of help from the staff honestly amazed me. There was staff on every isle willing to assist. I have NEVER been in and out of a costume store so quickly. The dressing room experience was actually efficient. I picked out 4 costumes and in different sizes- told her the order I wanted to try them on and while I was trying on the first costume- she was getting my second costume out of the bag and had it ready for me. After I returned the first outfit they folded it neatly and put it back in the bag. The whole process took me about 10-15 minutes and I was on my way home. The negative reviewers were probably trying to steal given their attitudes toward the staff. There's a reason the staff members were on every isle- and the reason is to assist. They deserve a negative star if it was possible. I've purchased several costumes (2 every Halloween to be exact) from them in the past and I've never had a problem. I tried on a costume two days prior before I returned to purchase it. So when I returned to purchase I didn't need to try it on a second time. I put the costume on and it is 3 sizes to big. The packaging is marked Large but the tags are 1X. I call to exchange it for the correct size and I am told I am unable to, I should have tried it on before I left. They basically blamed me (the customer) for their mistake. I spoke with two managers and they both said I need to talk to the owner to resolve the situation the next day, but would not provide a phone number or name so I can call them directly. The costume was needed that night not the next day. So basically they have wasted my time and MONEY!! I WOULD NOT recommend ANYONE purchase ANYTHING from this store if they cannot honor their products or fix their mistakes. read more
