Brandon immediately recommended switching to electric would be the most cost effective. He called an electrician he has worked with, who turned out to be very reasonable and someone I will use in the future for my electrical needs, and the day after that work completed, Brandon & William quickly capped the gas line and replaced with a new electric water heater. Brandon was correct electric was much more reasonable price, in my case, than replacing with another gas water heater. Very happy I called Texans Water Heaters and pleased with their services every step of the way.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE HOUR REPAIR IN HOUSTON…read more FIVE DAYS WITHOUT HOT WATER. A $1,000 LABOR QUOTE FOR A REPAIR THAT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN TRIED TO HOLD PARTS THAT BELONGED TO ME HOSTAGE WHEN i WANTED TO GET THE REPAIR DONE BY ANOTHER COMPANY. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, TEXAS WATER HEATERS SEEMED FAR MORE INTERESTED IN MAXIMIZING THE SERVICE BILL THAN HELPING RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM. USE EXTREME CAUTION AND GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE APPROVING ANY REPAIR WORK. We purchased a Navien tankless water heater from Texas Water Heaters in December 2023 (their recommendation), including installation of a new electrical outlet. When the unit stopped producing hot water less than three years later, we expected a straightforward warranty repair. Instead, we spent five days without hot water while Texas Water Heaters turned a relatively simple repair into a frustrating and expensive ordeal. The technician initially told us the motherboard had failed, they were getting weird electrical readings and that labor would be covered because Texas Water Heaters had installed the electrical outlet. Texas water heaters then brought in an electrician, who claimed the outlet was functioning properly. After that, Texas Water Heaters changed course and presented us with a quote of $1,000 in labor (because we hadn't purchased their service package/labor warranty at time of install) to replace a fan and PCB control board, despite the parts being covered under warranty. YES, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE $1000 TO REPLACE TWO ELECTRICAL PARTS COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY IN ADDITION TO THE $89.00 service fee just to come out! The THOUSAND DOLLAR estimate to replace two electrical components IMMEDIATELY raised red flags. I contacted another Navien-authorized service provider, who told me the repair should take about half an hour and that their hourly rate was $175. Unsurprisingly, I chose the second company. The situation became even more frustrating when Navien informed us that Texas Water Heaters had arranged for my warranty replacement parts to be shipped to their office instead of my home. Navien further explained that because Texas Water Heaters had accepted delivery of the parts on my behalf, Navien would not send replacements and I would need to obtain the parts from Texas Water Heaters. When I called to request my parts, I was initially told they had to be returned to Navien. Only after I requested written confirmation that Texas Water Heaters was refusing to release parts that belonged to me did they call back and suddenly agree I could drive over and pick them up. The second service company completed the repair, installed the warranty parts, and performed a full tune-up for a little over $300.

PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT GIVING THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS…read more March 2025 is when my nightmare began. I purchased a Trane because my AC, after trying 3 different companies, couldn't be fixed. I was proud I finally could afford a Trane. Installed 3/30/25. First sign of problems, water underneath my inside unit located in a closet in hallway. Then begins appointment after appointment trying to resolve it. 3 different changes to my piping. Accusations that it was my fault with MY piping in my foundation. Original installation did a poor job with my piping. It finally stopped leaking for a while and so did my AC. Now my coil had a Freon leak. New coil was installed. Worked for a while and then doesn't. Replaced compressor on my outside heat pump. Now I have contacted Trane to check if my unit was owned by a previous customer. I got a case manager to work with me. From what they could tell, no previous names on the serial numbers. Case manager remained on my case. Now I am looking for complete removal of the unit with 100% reimbursement per their policy on my sales invoice. Now comes more trouble. Decision was made to replace with a new Trane. New Trane installed 8/3/26. A month and 6 days later the AC stops working. Service came out 8/10. A fuse board and sensor seems to be the issue. Surprise, they don't have the parts on hand. Now I'm sitting here with no AC and no phone call with an update. 1 good thing is their service employees. Out of all of them that came to my home, and there was many, 1 was disrespectful. The management of this company is highly incompetent and what needed to happen didn't. A complete reimbursement and the extraction of the original Trane unit. Now I'm starting a new nightmare with my replacement Trane.

We also asked that they include pricing on replacing the main household water valve located in the laundry room. Their quote was very reasonable and the work was scheduled. Jose and his assistant installed the RO system, connecting it to both the kitchen faucet and the refrigerator ice maker. They also replaced the main water valve. This included cutting out, replacing and painting sheetrock around the valve. All work was done flawlessly. After a month or so, we noticed the RO system occasionally making a high-pitched squealing sound. We contacted New Gen and Jose came out to trouble shoot the issue. He discovered that one of the manufacturer's system components was not working properly and was able to remedy the situation. He even took time to measure and show us the quality of the water that the system was producing. The level of professionalism and technical capability of Jose and the New Gen team was exceptional. We highly recommend New Gen and will call them for any of our future plumbing needs.

I'm 6'1", and since purchasing my home in 2015, I've never felt comfortable using the master shower because it was simply too small for me. I primarily used my guest shower because it offered more space. I can literally count on two hands how many times I've used my master shower over the years--and since I don't take baths at all, the tub was basically wasted space. When I explained my vision to Geovanny, I told him I wanted to remove the tub, extend the shower, and create a spacious, spa-like feel. Boy, did he deliver! He took the vision I had in my head and brought it to life beautifully. The new shower feels completely different--open, comfortable, luxurious, and exactly what I wanted. The renovation did take longer than we initially anticipated, but the finished result was well worth the wait. Quality work takes time, and I'm extremely happy with the final product. I've worked with Geovanny on several other projects throughout my home, and he delivers top-notch results every single time. He has definitely become my go-to person for home projects. 10/10 -- I highly recommend Geovanny and City & Beyond Handyman Services, and I will absolutely continue using him for future projects!

So they may have quoted me high because they didn't want the job or they use unicorn paint. They were transparent and upfront about the cost and quick to respond, so I'll give them that.

Because of the extent of repairs needed, we decided to just go ahead and repipe the whole darn house and from start to finish and HaLo was phenomenal. As most of TX knows it's been hard to get a hold of any plumber, but Karen and their crew were remarkably responsive and got back to me when they said they would every time. We did have to wait a little to get on the schedule but it was for a reason I appreciated: while supplies were limited they were trying to help the most people instead of sinking all of their materials into one job. They helped me avoid cutting into wood paneling and built in bookcases that would have been a nightmare to repair by moving a hose bib. And when the job was over Nayar was very patient with me when I asked him to give me an overview of where all the lines were located in case I had to trouble shoot anything. Also, the employees who only spoke Spanish were so kind in dealing with my poorly mangled Spanish - So. Kind. It's been about a week since my job was done now, and all the lines are fully functional with no issues!

A drainage project that began around July 8 took…read moreabout a month to complete, leaving a trench around my home and delaying other work, including roofing, electrical, and AC repairs. The biggest issue was a nearly $6,000 change order for a bathroom drain addition that was clearly identified in the drain inspection provided to the owner before the project was quoted. That inspection recommended replacing both older cast-iron systems with PVC. I was told the report was not fully reviewed before the quote was prepared because the owner receives too many reports and is usually rushed. Unfortunately, that lack of review resulted in a major added cost. There were also property-damage issues. My sidewalk and sprinkler cable were damaged during the work. I had to push back repeatedly after initially being told the damage may have been caused by me or my subcontractors. Communication and customer service were also disappointing. I found the project manager dismissive, and my request for a site meeting with the owner after the first major issue was ignored. The project total nearly doubled. When I requested a resolution, I was offered a split of the cost of the quoting error rather than removal of it. On a Friday evening, I was told the error would be removed; by Saturday morning, I received a threat and a promise of a lien. I cannot recommend Halo based on the inaccurate quoting, property damage, prolonged disruption, and handling of these concerns.
