Jorge came out and immediately started work on my refrigerator and gave it a thorough once over and found that my refrigerator was low in Freon. We said to charge it up and he advised us he couldn't guarantee how long it would last maybe 6 months or as much as 5 years and our compressor and motor was a good one. Our refrigerator is going strong still and I have also purchased a used washer I great condition from Jorge who installed and even hauled away my old washer. Needed my oven repaired. The oven igniter needed replacing, work was done on time and well. Reason for three stars is the mark up for the part, for an OEM as far as I reckoned was marked up three times. I expect a mark up, but three times is excessive. I don't mind paying for good labor also. Only issue is mark up, I feel I got zip code charged (nice neighborhood). I did agree to the price, though I did voice surprise at the cost, but as a regular person I just didn't have all the info at that moment.They showed me an invoice for the part as a conciliatory gesture, but had no real official information. This guy looked at 2 appliances. With the first appliance, he missed that the capacitor for the refrigerant compressor was dead. He then identified a circuit board as the problem. An electronics tech later tested the board and advised it was undamaged. That tech then found the bad capacitor. With the 2nd appliance, George identified a bad refrigerant valve. He promised to get pricing & call me back later that day. Six days later and still no info from him. He claimed he called but says he didn't leave a message. And he said he doesn't "do texts." Jorge fixed my oven! I was really grateful to have it back. It wasn't cheap, but I appreciated that most of the cost was the part and not the labor. The part took awhile longer to come in than expected, but that was not Jorge's fault: once he had the part, he came back ASAP to install it. Our dishwasher stopped working and it wasn't any of the obvious electrical issues we could fix ourselves. I called Jorge and he was able to come out the next day and assess the issue. He gave us the pros and cons of fixing the dishwasher vs buying a new one. He was upfront about the cost of labor and the replacement part, and was able to come back the next day and fix our dishwasher. How many times should I call a repairman to fix a loud and annoying noise from my refrigerator? Unfortunately it took four companies over a ten year period. The fourth company was Texan Appliance Repair and should have started with them first. Jorge found the vibration problem right away (compressor tubing rubbing against fan housing). A young man with far more wisdom and problem solving skills than his much older and experienced competitors. I can't say he could fix everything but based on my experience I recommend calling Texan Appliance Repair the first time, not the fourth time. read more

Texan Appliance Repair came out the next day after I called them about my washing machine not working. Jorge was on time and was able to diagnose the issue quickly. Unfortunately the part that failed was obsolete and even if it could be found, would cost over half the price of a new washer. I called Jorge for three appliances. He was able to fix my oven and did so with professionalism and courtesy. My wine fridge was unable to be repaired due to numerous issues with an old unit. My microwave he was unable to fix because of discontinued parts, but he diagnosed it without having to truly take it apart, so we were able to save money on that aspect. He was very honest and reliable with his diagnostics and assessments. Since I usually repair my own appliances, I made sure that I understood what he was trying to say, and he made things very clear and concise. In / out in about two hours, dishwasher repaired (was showing no power), oven repaired (would not heat), everything put back the way it was, very reasonably priced, would DEFINITELY recommend!! Jorge and I texted to carve out a time for him to come by, he was able to make it on time, got right to work, addressed two issues (Igniter in Bosch oven, thermal fuse in Bosch dishwasher), got everything pulled out, pulled apart, fixed, put back together and pushed back in place in no time. George was amazing. He handled the job very effective efficient and on time I contacted him yesterday concerning my dryer that wouldn't spin. He immediately jumped to action and stated that he will be able to come to the house between 10 and 12 George arrive exactly at 12 PM which I greatly appreciate it since I have a busy Saturday George was able to assist the dryer and fix it in a timely manner. Received an immediate/automated response after reaching out via Yelp, asking to call. I called and talked to Jorge who seemed friendly and asked about the issue. He said that he might be able to come out the same day, but at the latest would be in the area the following day. Jorge asked for pictures of the appliance as well as my address, which I immediately provided. Unfortunately that was the last I heard from Jorge. He never texted me back, even after I texted the next day to ask if he was going to be able to come out nor after expressing my disappointment from never receiving a response. I can't speak to the actual work he may perform, but ghosting potential customers isn't really a great way to earn business. read more

As far as service response and professionalism, things were excellenot. My feedback is on the technical analysis of a gas dryer issue. An initial diagnosis was an issue with gas coil and fuse. Repairs were done 03/17/25 and things were good for about 8 weeks. Dryer stopped heating again and was told it was the circuit board where I would have to pay for another repair which is not worth it for an old dryer. So I paid for a second diagnostic fee and was told that this was unrelated issue but somehow the dryer developed two different issues in 2 months. I am not an expert but feel that the initial diagnostic should be more thorough so I can decide whether it's worth fixing if there are multiple issues . So I am not satisfied with my experience and expectation and will now have to buy a new dryer. read more
