Wide selection of blowers, edgers, mowers, tractors, kind of the Bass Pro of sporting goods. Been here many times and have spent some money. I drop my mower for service, total was 239 Dls, when I get there they try to charge 290, I look the invoice total say 239, they make the numbers 10 times, call the mechanic, call another guy for "help"... they spend over 30 minutes trying to figure out how to charge 50 Dls extra, they even tray to charge twice the gas filter, they fail trying to altered the numbers... I follow them the entire time just to hear the theory's on why they wanna charge extra 50, they never explain where those 50 Dls came from, I believe the owner is greedy, if I ever see him on the store I will make a big deal because they have to rewrite the invoice adding some extras to match the price... 6:15 in the afternoon I was hungry and tire ( got there around 5:30) te guy try to make an excuse but I didn't want to Hear... 45 minutes trying to make out numbers out of nothing I was tire... Howard Brothers - Hardware Stores Near Me - Oakwood, Georgia

We purchased a brand new Exmark mower from True Value Howard Bros just over 18 months ago (over $3000), and the starter broke. They picked up the mower and had it for over 2 weeks. Never called us - we had to follow up with them about the repairs. Then when it was finally done, they insisted on charging us $60 delivery fee to return our mower. (We live less than 3 miles from the store). This should be charged back to Exmark or covered by Howard Brothers - they shouldn't sell products they don't stand behind. In addition, they didn't tell us when they were dropping the mower off. We happened to be home, but the driver delivered the mower to our upper driveway and came to the front door to let us know where it was, when if we had been asked ahead of time, we would have requested the mower be delivered to our boat garage on the other side of the house. We will no longer be patrons of their store and can't in good faith recommend them - not only because of the delivery fee, but the overall lack of customer service. read more

Stopped in because it was on the way to a job. Needed a few plumbing pieces. Staff was friendly enough and asked if I needed assistance. Prices are high! Cashier (younger blonde girl) could care less about customers. Checked my items out, gave me my receipt and turned away; leaving my items on the counter. Guess she felt I didn't need a bag to carry. I wanted to commend Howard Brothers at the Oakwood, Georgia location for providing quality products with exceptional customer service. Recently my lawn mower started working differently. Unfortunately, I'm on limited income and can't afford to purchase a new one. Immediately I started asking around to figure out what I can do to continue using my lawn mower without having to be out of pocket more money that I can afford. As luck would have it, an outstanding salesman in the parts department by the name of Spencer Whitlow came to my rescue. I explained to him my issue and he immediately knew a resolution. He recommended a part to purchase and assured me that the business stood behind their products. Being a middle aged woman with limited mechanical knowledge, I'm weary of salesmen. I typically think they are trying to take advantage of my ignorance. Not this time.... Mr. Whitlow made me feel comfortable and confident with the product that I purchased. His expertise and reassurance was refreshing. Needless to say, my neighbor replaced the part on my lawn mower and it works like new. This saved me so much time, money and anxiety.
