Here. Come here. Going to the dentist, any dentist office is terrifying for me. I've grown up with…read moreissues with my oral health and had a horrible root canal experience when I was little so when I heard I needed another root canal, it was daunting. My body genuinely froze in fear and I pleaded with my dentist to find another way. She told me it could not be delayed anymore and offered me a few different referrals. When discovering how much it was going to cost (my dental insurance had been maxed out for the year), I felt even more defeated. I called the offices that my dentist suggested, Dr. Karras being one of the options, as well as a handful of other endodontists. Dr. Karras was on par with most of the endodontists I had called, but I decided to go with him because my dentist was sooooo insistent that Dr. Karras is the BEST for root canals and that is who she trusts as her endodontist. I really did believe my dentist when she said it because she had repeated it so many times but I couldn't help but feel so terrified because of my first root canal experience being so horrible. However, the experience at Dr. Karras's office was fantastic from start to finish. Anda who was the woman I spoke with on the phone was empathetic, direct, and was so helpful when I was asking questions about the service and costs. A lot of other places were clearly annoyed with my questions about cost and a little ambiguous on what the total cost would be but Anda had no problem being direct which put my heart at ease. She was also so kind and understanding when I was telling her I was struggling because of the pain I was in with my tooth but still felt hesitant to pay out of pocket. I felt like the other offices were just a "say you'll pay or just hang up" attitude. The technician I had for the root canal was also amazing. I so wish I remembered her name because she was SO sweet. She was so empathetic and really put her best effort to help calm me down when I was shaking from fear. She asked me questions about my life to distract me, told me about herself, and even offered to hold my hand when I was getting overwhelmed. With an office with such great employees, it's no surprise that Dr. Karras is just as amazing. He seems intimidating at first because he just has a strong presence and is very straight-forward but he clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He was patient with me when I was telling him I was scared and was literally shaking and breathing heavily from fear. He just told me not to worry he was nonchalant but not in a passive or arrogant way at all. It was just confirming that he was an expert and to trust him. I have to say, it was pretty painless. Not AT ALL like my first experience. It obviously was a little painful for the numbing shots since the area was highly sensitive but other than that and the intial drilling for the numbing shot for the tooth, it was like like wham bam done. I know my dentist said Dr. Karras was the best but this was even better than my expectations! Root canals are no longer one of my fears in life! Though...I still hope I don't need anymore. I highly commend AND recommend the Karras Endotontist team. I really can't say enough about all of them. I am truly grateful.

On top of all that, the office manager, Nineva, was very dismissive and unempathetic. I wouldn't wish the past month of nightmares and pain on my worst enemy. The worst thing is I feel like all of this was probably avoidable. On the bright side, one of the dentists there, Jason Brenner, was very nice and did what he could for me. The oral surgeon was also professional in attitude, though I'm wary of his skills.

From the moment I walk in the office my experience has always been positive: the staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and put me at ease throughout my entire visit. This is my second root canal with Dr. Fayad who did the previous one as well. People who knew I was going for a "root canal" have terrible misconceptions about the procedure as well as the recovery. I had absolutely no discomfort during or after the procedure. I had the procedure yesterday at noon and as I write this review it is 9:30pm and my mouth has felt fine the entire time. I haven't needed any remedy for pain as I have had no discomfort! I feel so lucky to have been referred to Dr. Fayad (a kind, gentle, humble man who is a true leader in his field) and and with no hesitation or exaggeration state that he is the best And his staff is excellent. This review is a little late, but here it goes:…read more Around Thanksgiving I had noticed that a 6 yr. old crown was becoming discolored at the base, near my gum line. Subsequently I was experiencing some slight pain deep within tooth, noticeable every once in awhile. Due to a the occasional pain, my dentist suggested I visit the Endo and get their expert opinion before he put a brand new crown on a tooth; a tooth that possibly needed another root canal. My dentist gave me a referral to Park Ridge Endodontics I easily made an appointment at PR Endodontics. I arrived at my first appointment with my referral slip . Dr. C. asked me what was going on, examined the tooth and performed some tests, as well as more in-depth X-rays; X-rays my dentist couldn't provide. She did notice an area deep in my canal that needed to be retreated. She gave me several treatment options (pulling the tooth, leaving the tooth alone and doing nothing or root canal therapy). I chose the option that allowed me to keep my tooth intact. I made another appointment so that I could return for the root canal procedure several weeks later. Dr. C. cleaned and retreated my problem area and I was in and out of the office in no time. My tooth has been perfect ever since my visit with her. She was very kind, smart and explained what she was doing during the procedure. My treatment was taken care of in one visit and I was able to return to my general dentist for a new crown several weeks after. All my visits were done between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I really appreciated that. I was blessed with great dental coverage, so what I paid out-of-pocket was nominal in my opinion. I appreciated the reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Super clean treatment areas and an inviting reception area. Friendly office staff. They answered my insurance questions with no trouble. Saturday hours! I've since moved away from the NW 'burbs, but I highly recommend PR Endodontics to family and friends still in the area.

Walking to pick up lunch one day, I passed Sodini dental on Oakton, and knowing that I needed to get back to the dentist and looked up their reviews to see if this would be a good place to maybe try and become a new patient. I slid down a slippery slope through Covid and since, after moving away from my previous dentist and some extensive and ongoing health issues impacted my life. I called and was able to make an appointment for a couple months out - I was pleasantly surprised that they were taking new patients and that I didn't have to wait that long in the scheme of dr's offices for a new patient appointment. They do send text reminders as well which I appreciated. Doré at the front provided my new patient paperwork and checked me in. She was nice and efficient. Therese was my hygienist and I am so grateful and lucky that she got my appointment. I was transparent and disclosed it had been almost 7 years since my last dental appointment. I had been diagnosed with several conditions that are ongoing that have impacted my entire life tremendously, and paired with Covid and moving, time passed so quickly until we were here. Therese was patient and kind and made me feel incredibly heard. I know many people (myself included) who have anxiety build as time passes fearing judgment from dentists when we finally do make it in, and I need to stress so clearly here that Therese was so understanding, empathetic, and validating, especially with consideration to my ongoing health struggles. I was immediately so relieved and relaxed to continue with the visit AND ongoing dental care. We did a whole slew of x-rays since it had been so long since my last, and we also decided periodontal scalings were appropriate for cleaning my teeth and getting me back on track as well. Therese was communicative and gentle throughout the entire appointment and stressed my comfort over and over. We did split the scalings into two appointments, and I came back a week later for the second half of the cleaning. They made sure to book me with Therese at my request. I cannot articulate clearly enough how much the staff here made sure I was comfortable through my appointments. Unheard of in my previous dental office experiences. Dr. Sam saw me for my exam and she is incredibly kind, my experience with her was also very positive. I'm so grateful to have accidentally found an office with so much empathy and kindness in addition to professionalism, efficient administrative staff, and a very clean office. I know Sodini Dental has been a part of the community for a long time, and I selfishly hope they continue to be so. My insurance is out of network with the office, and I knew this going in to my appointment, and agreed to out of network costs. Out of network costs are generally not cheap, this was no exception, however billing and payment were both easy and transparent. We set up my next appointments for this year before I left from my second visit, and I was able to pay my balance without issue. Thank you Sodini Dental for a great and easy experience!
