I told her to take it to my buddy Danny at Pro Transmissions & Automotive who I've known for half of my life for a second opinion. Danny did what Danny does: he properly diagnosed the problem and determined that the van did not need an entirely new engine. His team replaced the necessary gaskets, completed the head-gasket and timing job, and got my sister back on the road for about half of what the other shop had quoted. Honest diagnosis, quality work, and a huge amount of money saved. If you're facing an expensive repair, take your vehicle to Danny before giving up on it. I cannot recommend this shop enough, a second opinion from the right shop can make all the difference! They will tell you they have identified the problem with your car and how to solve it, yet after they have implemented their solution they will inform you it did not solve the problem but they will still charge you for it. You still need your car repaired so now you are trapped, next they will pacify you by assuring you this time they have definitely identified the problem and how to solve it, so you give them the go ahead and cross your fingers. A few days later you will receive another call informing you their new solution did not solve the problem either but they will still charge you for that too. They will drag this process out for weeks and squeeze you for 5 to 10 times the amount of their original quote. I am not the only person to have this experience with Japanese Motor Works, they are notorious for it, ask around and see for yourself. You would think they would notice the lack of repeat customers and see it as a sign they might not be doing good business. Charging people for something that does not work should be illegal. What a pathetic way to make a living.

I paid almost $6,000 for five sets of tires on my work vehicles, and they can't even make an appointment, or tell me the truth about what time they open? Flat out lied to me, and completely failed to take care of a long time loyal customer who spends big money with them. They will no longer be doing my fleet management of any kind!
