Many tutoring centers require you to buy a package of classes before you can start, but BrightFox lets you begin with just one class. That gave us a chance to see if it was a good fit for our child without feeling pressured. It also gave me the impression that they are confident in the quality of their program. Even though the classes are 2:1, my child still receives plenty of individual attention. It really feels like one-on-one learning. One of my children had never attended a tutoring center before high school because he preferred studying on his own. At BrightFox, the teachers always welcome questions and explain concepts step by step in a way that matches each student's level. This has helped my child become much more confident in learning. What impressed me the most is that the teachers don't just give the answers. They make sure students understand why the answer is correct and continue explaining until they know the student truly understands. You can tell they genuinely care about each student's learning. After every class, we receive detailed feedback about what was covered, how our child did, and what to work on next. As a parent, I really appreciate being able to stay involved in my child's learning. Before we enrolled, Mr. Alex took the time to understand our child's learning goals and helped us choose the best path. Ms. Heather has also been wonderful. She carefully follows our child's progress and provides support and guidance whenever it is needed. Her communication and care have given us a great deal of confidence. Our family is very happy that we chose Brightfox.

We really appreciate how they accommodated last min sessions to get through the crazy application process. The instructors at BF are not only highly knowledgeable but also very structured and thoughtful in their approach. They understood how to bring out the best in our kids and made even challenging concepts easier to grasp. My kids especially appreciated that the instructors relate well to students and help them with narratives that stay true to their original voice and stories, which made a big difference in their confidence. I feel what sets Bright Fox apart is their commitment to student success and the consistency in the quality of teaching. Special thanks to Alex for the care and support, especially when we were confused with the process and frustrated after a bad experience at another institute (who wasted lot of time and hours without making real progress with essays). BF team was efficient, and their quick, iterative feedback helped a lot. They have a diverse and highly capable team, and communication has always been smooth with timely responses and support whenever needed. My kids felt confident, well-prepared, and supported throughout their journey. Both my kids found their voice and unique style of story telling that represented them in the essays, and discover themselves li'l more through this process. I genuinely appreciate the dedication of the entire team and would highly recommend Bright Fox to any parent looking for top-quality academic guidance. A well-deserved 5-Star experience!! Thanks Prasad & Saraswathi

When I first met with him after taking a diagnostic SAT, he walked me through the different SAT summer camp options, and told me what he thought would be best for me based off of my score and specific question types I initially missed. I left that meeting with a clear understanding what needed to be done over the summer in order for me to succeed. I enrolled in the SAT intensive bootcamp and improved my score by 120 points thanks to the amazing educators at this institution. I genuinely could not have achieved this without their help. The classes are incredibly engaging, and I learned so many strategies that I can apply to daily academic habits beyond the SAT. Since then, I have been actively participating in tutoring lessons with Jesse for precalculus. He's really good at breaking down math into understandable concepts, and that's what truly helped me build confidence in order to succeed in school. I highly recommend Elite Prep Fremont to any students looking to improve their SAT scores in a welcoming environment, or anyone in need of private tutoring.

As I prepare to make a transition to college, I can look back and understand how much of a contribution Elite and Jesse, in particular, have had in creating opportunities for me. My journey with Elite started in the early part of my freshman year at high school. Like most Asian families, my parents and I went to meet Jesse for the first time with ideas that only included lofty college brands, perfect GPAs and the most impacted majors. It took Jesse only one meeting to make me understand that I can do myself the best service by focusing on my studies with right time management, practice, doing due diligence to all my work, and asking for help whenever needed. During every college counseling meeting, Jesse always encouraged me, and even during times when my grades had dropped, he kept my spirits high. These four years, Jesse worked with our family like a team, providing valuable information, setting up course plans, summer programs, extra-curriculars, and helping me to maintain my school track records in spreadsheets. His dedication to help his students is exemplary. He is so invested in helping his students that he always loses track of time unless reminded by the front desk. I am also pleasantly surprised by the amount of patience he has as he will answer all questions (and sometimes my parents had a lot) without being dismissive. When it came time for college applications, I don't think I could have done so well without the help from Elite. Jesse took all the time to review and shortlist my Activities list, Awards and Honors, and of course my essays. I worked with Jesse through multiple rounds of reviewing before he gave me the greenlight. He also reviewed my entire application to make sure there were no errors. I cannot express the amount of work that I got to put with the Elite team to make my college application really strong. Even with a few blemishes in my grades, I still got admitted to 16 excellent universities, of which 6 were UCs. I got into both computer science and data science. In the end, it was a bit of a challenge to decide, but I am going to UC Berkeley. Without a doubt, my parents and the Elite team have immensely helped me through this phase. This may seem a bit out of order, but I wanted to cover my college application experience and the final outcome first. But I think my review will be incomplete if I don't mention Jesse as a tutor. Jesse was my math tutor in 10th and 11th grade. My school, Irvington High School, has a reputation of being intense at math. Apart from being a really excellent math tutor, I have always wondered how Jesse never gets stumped by any super difficult math problem. Last but not least, I am really thankful to the entire Elite team that I got the opportunity to work with. Chelsea was so much on top of everything giving me reminders if I am falling behind on any for-credit course. She is so well organized and really helped me to stay on track on a number of occasions. I worked with Joon as my essay coach, and he is definitely an expert of essay writing. It is difficult to satisfy him with the essay, but in the end when it all takes shape, you can only see how valuable his critique was. In the end, I became a much better writer.

Tutoring Club, however, was very inclusive and accommodating from the start. I have the highest regard for Anil and his son, who run this center. They are soft-spoken, humble, polite, and--most importantly--very understanding and flexible. Before joining, both of my kids had difficulties with comprehension and writing. While it took some time, the dedicated tutors at Tutoring Club made a real difference. Their efforts helped strengthen my kids' reading and writing skills, which clearly showed in their most recent CAASPP scores. I credit the Tutoring Club for this progress. If you're looking for a tutoring center that is not only effective but also INCLUSIVE and supportive, Tutoring Club is truly worth exploring. I would recommend them anytime, to anyone.

Mr. Test Prep's approach and clear value proposition really stood out to me in the sea of the multitude of tutors and SAT prep services. My son (who actually does well with online learning) did the trial and felt he could do better on his own. I eventually got someone who did in person tutoring. In my experience, a lot of these online classes and tutors benefit the tutor but not the students. If you have a student who does well with online teaching, maybe this is okay. But if you want to pay big money, make sure you get results. For our family, the benefit of taking the SAT over and over was good. But not having any human interaction with the tutor or peers was not good. My son eventually scored a 1570 but with an in person tutor and taking the SAT five times.

I had explicitly asked that the tutor help my high schooler with study skills that would help her with all classes, biology in particular. During the first session the tutor just asked my daughter what she wanted to work on. Not having worked with a tutor, she wasn't sure what to ask for, especially as it was the beginning of the semester so she had no homework for biology. They chatted for about 20 minutes, but not about study skills. Then the session was ended early since my daughter didn't have anything else to ask for, even though I had been required to pay for a full session beforehand. Study skills were never discussed. Also the tutor told my daughter that she (the tutor) didn't have much background in biology and was more of a physics tutor. All around disappointing. The owner did follow up with me directly after I complained and asked for a refund. He listened patiently, acknowledged that the requested focus on study skills had been a miss and apologized for the poor experience. His handling of the situation is why I gave a 2 star instead of 1 star.
