Pasta & hot Cheetos boudin balls
    Monae I.

I was excited to try HTX Food Plug after seeing it on IG! I think my expectations were too high because I was disappointed with the taste! The prices are already high and the food lacked seasoning & flavor big time. I'm not sure if it was due to the kitchen staff that day or what but the food was not good. I attempted to eat more thinking maybe it was just my taste buds, but I finally gave up & took it to go. I gave it to a homeless person. I also gave the homeless person $5 to get a drink to wash it down with. The service was cool but I don't plan to go back.

The owner got me to come back a second time! This was purely off his customer service and of course the food! If you're on the hunt for the best boudin balls in town, slide through 4001 Tierwester smack in the heart of TSU, cause this the spot fasho! For those who don't know Boudin balls are the ultimate in comfort food. They are a classic spin on Cajun culture. Boudin has pork sausage made with rice and seasoning, usually stuffed into a ball like casing. I've tried boudin balls all over since being in Texas, but none compare to what Htxfoodplug is serving up. I believe it's due to the crust on the outside of the boudin ball being something most of us grew up snacking on religiously... them good all Cheetos! The flavor, texture, and seasoning are absolutely consistent and let me not forget the cheese, on the inside ! The menu is on the white board closer to the front where orders are being taken. I recommend coming at least 30 mins earlier so you're not waiting too long. Hours are from 2pm- sold out Saturday & Sunday. Be prepared to wait in the heat, although there is shade underneath the tent, DJ spinning some r&b, as well as hip hop tracks & ice cold water on standby. It's worth the wait though. I ordered the standard "Pressure Balls" which are $25 for 3. You can pay with card or cash. It comes with a sauce that pairs well with the boudin ball, it tastes like a thousand island queso mix sauce. I guess kinda like a remoulade sauce. These boudin balls simply satisfy your savory soul when you look and bite into them. The customer service is on point. The lady who takes your order is super friendly and has something nice to say. They make you feel like you're part of the family from the moment your order is taken. If you're in Houston and haven't tried them yet, you're missing out!

Well with the drive from where I was staying. Everything was amazing! The pasta was rich and had shrimp and sausage. The balls were covered in hot Cheeto dust and was fire. Service was friendly and quick. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Boudain balls are unique and flavorful but over priced for my budget. The pasta was also good but $40 for a half container of pasta and 2 boudain balls, again, over priced.

Heard high reviews about the boudin balls. What you can expect, friendly service and nice music playing while waiting. The wait is long, because orders are made to order style. There are three tents to stand under, and the wait is at a minimum 30 minutes before you can put your order in, then you will wait 15-20mims for order to be complete. Bring water, hand fan and patience...its worth the wait

The entrepreneur and chef came out and chatted while we waited under a large shade tree and jammed to the tunes of the DJ.

I had just been chatting…read morewith Gretel about breakfast tacos the day we landed in Houston -- and breakfast tacos are one of my favourite things about visiting Texas. We pulled up to this food truck and, while placing our order, I instantly had the feeling that this crew knew exactly what they were doing. That impression proved to be spot on as soon as I took my first bite. The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with the kind of simple, honest ingredients that make great breakfast tacos so satisfying. No gimmicks, no unnecessary fuss -- just well-executed food that delivers exactly what you're hoping for. The service was efficient, the operation ran smoothly, and it was easy to see why there was a steady stream of customers. Overall, an excellent breakfast taco stop and exactly the kind of local experience I look for when I'm in Houston. Saluti.

Luckily, this spot takes both card and cash! I got the small beef quesadilla, and it was loaded with cheese. The small quesadilla was $5.50, and it was pretty decently sized for a small. They have salsa set out at the counter, so you can pack as much as you like. The red salsa was smoky and SPICY. Very tasty if you like spice I see a lot of great reviews about this place. I would like to try their other tacos and give a more detailed review. I will be back! but for sure the quesadilla was a hit for me

I swear the Bulgogi Fries were screaming my name, though. Yoyo's Hotdog - Yoyo--YO. This thing slaps. I definitely craved a Coke or a beer while eating this because that salt kicks your taste buds' *ss. The caramelized onions paired with the crunchy onions were a double whammy that could topple a few hot dog title holders. The real winner, though, was the sauce--definitely something Asian-inspired. But hey, I'm running on five hours of sleep, and that's the best my smooth brain could come up with to describe the experience. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

I got their famous hotdog with spicy mayo, french onion, sautéed onions, and hot sauce. (That's how it comes standard) don't get me wrong it's definitely a lot going on from the flavors and the messiness of the dog, but the flavors balance out very well and the all beef hot dog is delicious. There's no spice from the mayo or hot sauce so if you don't like spice you'll be fine. I also tried their bulgogi fries which came with bulgogi meat, jalepenos, cheese and cilantro. My first reaction was it was delicious but it wouldn't be something I would get again, but after I kept eating it I realized this is actually really good and now when I go back I'll definitely try it again. Overall I definitely recommend this place to visitors or even locals
