I brought my nearly brand-new car to Hubcap Annie in Garden City for what should have been a very simple repair: fixing a small chip on one wheel. The car had under 500 miles on it and was in pristine condition when I dropped it off. When I got the car back, it had serious damage that did not exist before. The center lock nut and seat were damaged beyond repair, leaving me with over $6,250 in repair costs to correct the damage caused while the vehicle was in their care. Initially, the owner acknowledged there was an issue and told me he would cover the repair costs after he caught his employee lying about what happened. However, the moment he saw the actual repair bill, his attitude completely changed. Instead of honoring what he said, he became rude, dismissive, and started changing his story multiple times. Rather than taking responsibility for damage done to a customer's vehicle, he chose to argue, deflect blame, and lecture me about business, which was both unprofessional and insulting. The conversation quickly turned into excuses and contradictions. It became clear that customer accountability and honesty are not priorities here. For a business entrusted with people's vehicles--especially high-value vehicles--this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If a shop makes a mistake, the professional thing to do is stand behind the work and make it right. That did not happen here. What should have been a quick and simple wheel repair turned into thousands of dollars in damage and a frustrating experience dealing with a business owner who repeatedly changed his story. As a member of the Porsche Club of America, I will absolutely be sharing this experience with other enthusiasts so they can make informed decisions about where they trust their vehicles. If you care about your car, especially a high-end or specialty vehicle, I strongly recommend taking it somewhere else. read more

Hub Cap Annie's did an incredible job restoring the wheels on my Challenger Widebody Hellcat after a mishap in a construction zone badly damaged two of them. I was honestly skeptical that repair was even possible, but when I saw the finished product I was blown away. The wheels look better than showroom condition -- you'd never know they were ever damaged. Even more impressive was their customer service. The repair took a little longer than expected, and without me even asking they significantly reduced the bill to make up for the inconvenience. That kind of integrity is rare. I've been going to this place for more than a decade. Until recently they were top notch. Having been a customer for so long, they had restored 7 full sets of various alloy and steel wheels for me, some powder coated, some painted, some with center caps that needed to match, some without (these included matching spares, so that's 7 sets of 5 wheels), everything from custom paint color matching paint to OEM replica powder coating, never had an issue with them. Recently I took some wheels to in to be restored and was shocked when I came to pick them up, the work was excellent as usual, but instead of paying the usual $125 to $140 per wheel I was charged $250 Per wheel. I could have shipped the wheels out to have them restored for less. I will no longer be giving them my business. Can't recommend them anymore. Buyer beware. read more

I was lied to twice on the estimated time just so I would take my wheel in, they said a day and a half. When I called 1.5 days later it hadn't been done yet so I said I'll pick it up and they said it was NOW on the machine so I wouldn't get it and would be done by the end of day 2. Waited til the end of the day and no call and lied again. Here we are day 3 and still no wheel and my trip is delayed now. Will never do business here again. Poor communication skills period. I get told on social media it's ready instead of a call. What a joke of a business. read more

I took my 2008 Infiniti G35 in a few days ago to get my rims powder coated in a black gloss. Michael was super helpful in giving me some pointers in terms of the finish as well as some other details. Scheduling the work was convenient and the completion was prompt. I absolutely loved the end product!! Being new from Ca and having used the same powder coater there for 15+ years, I was nervous in finding a new shop for my wheels in ID. I have a 2020 X4M Comp that I put 22" wheels on. I went with silver from the manufacturer but after 4 months on the car, wanted black. Each wheel had a little curb rash. I dropped them off and picked them up today, FLAWLESS! Curb rash gone, quality of work is excellent!!! Very good people running this little shop. I have found my Powder Coater in ID, couldn't be happier. The only reason I am going to mention that there were a couple of minor "screw-ups" here and there at Hub Cap Annie's is to make the point that they made it right. These folks have integrity, which, alas, is a rare commodity these days. They also do good work. I had one set of four alloy wheels refurbished and powder coated in a glossy finish; they look great. I had another set of four steel wheels cleaned-up and powder coated in a satin finish; they too look great. (They will be my "Winter wheels".) I also had a set of Nokian tires mounted and balanced on the alloy wheels. They have all the state-of-the-art equipment, and they used the adhesive balancing weights, which get hidden at the back of the wheel. So, no unsightly weights are visible on the newly refurbished wheels. Nice job! This is a friendly, local, family-owned business, now into the third generation. In this day and age of mega corporations, it is the kind of place that we locals should support. If there is a problem, these trustworthy folks will make it right and do it with a smile & good humor. I had a crack in my rim causing air to leak out, they're the only service in the area that welds rims and they did a great job. BUT The wheelcap that goes over the lugs on my rim fell off and got lost while driving a day after getting it back from them (mind you I had these rims for years and had never had that happen). I emailed them and they basically told me it wasn't their fault and theres no way itd be messed up. Basically theyre good at what they do but they cant install a wheelcap properly so now I drive around with 1/4 tires looking naked lol. read more

Not only did they expertly, and 100% invisibly, remove all damage, they took numerous extra steps to insure the wheel was not bent prior to beginning the repair. A little over a year ago, I banged a wheel rim against a curb. The ally rim showed "curb rash". The car dealer suggested Hubcap Annies's for repair. They did a terrific job. Even kept the car an extra day to match the charcoal rim color. Once I got the car back, I could not tell that the rim had been repaired. A year later, and a tire rotation later, I still can't tell which wheeI was repaired. Excellent! read more

This isn't a review about the service they performed but, rather, about the issue I ran into even getting work performed. I knew that I'd need to drop my car off in order to get my wheels refurbished and since I only have one vehicle I couldn't just take any opening they had. Therefore, I attempted to schedule an appointment several weeks in advance when I had family visiting. Unfortunately, when I went to drop the car off early on March 29th I was told that "Sorry, but we have no appointment listed for you". His only solution was to "leave the car for a few days and they'll see if they could get it done". Needless to say, I'm disappointed so far. Linda was a great help with selecting whether gloss or matte would look best on my car and Mike was so helpful and accommodating to my schedule and needs. I have used these folks over the years with reasonable success. I brought in an Alfa Romeo to do custom color paint on scuffed rims because they they weren't able to get a OEM color code. It worked out okay although the inside of the rims were not fully coated and you could see the primer on the inside of the the rims, maybe they're didn't order enough of the custom paint? Worst case was a Fiat Abarth I brought in a couple weeks ago. It was a disaster. They couldn't match the OEM color (it's way off) they charged me for wheel straightening which was questionably needed, promised to remove wheel extenders and didn't, replaced lug nuts with non OEM versions because the ones I supplied were stripped, failed to replace a hub as promised, destroyed 1/2 of the Chromre capped lug nuts I supplied with their hammer drills, and to polish off the bad business, charged me $1200 for the mess which is about what it would have cost for a new set of OEM rims. Caveat emptor. read more

This is the only place in The Treasure Valley that can weld and fix damaged rims. I ran over a big rock and busted up my rim badly. There were no replacements available. So they fixed up it effectively. It's been over 3 years. Good job! read more

This is one of those local stores that you hope you can visit again. We went there with a tire that was leaking air (for the second time after being repaired the first time) thinking that the rim was damaged or corroded. They checked it out and found a hole in the side wall. I highly recommend an individual taking any wheel problems to them. They are very fast and thorough and honest in their work. read more

By far one of the worst experiences I've had in a very long time. Refinishing my wheels was slated to take a day and a half, but ended up taking 5 days. During those 5 days I was given a litany of feeble excuses from Mike, none of which were reason enough to not have completed the task in a timely fashion. At one point Mike said, "what's the big deal, it's just a car....". When I finally got my car back, I was less than pleased with the results. I've been debating bring my stuff to Annies for a while, lots of mixed reviews from others, but I tried them out. Unfortunately for me my gut was right in being hesitant to even bother doing business with them. I brought them a vintage aftermarket wheel 3 piece split design. Being vintage I'm having a harder time trying to find a replacement barrel as the one I have has a nasty bend/damage. I brought my wheel in and was told 'Oh yes, of course we can fix that! I've seen much worse you'd be surprised!' I left my wheel on a Monday and was told i'd have a call back by Wednesday with a quote and an estimated repair time. Great! Happily I left waiting for a call back. No call back by Thursday so I called them. The same lady that assured me they'd fix my wheel up assured me I'd have a call back in 30 minutes. No call. I call Friday, the same lady answers the call but has no idea what wheel I'm calling about, and wasn't sure if she'd seen it. Again I explained the situation and she asked me to send her a photo of my wheel so she can see it. Then I am put on hold for 10 minutes, when she's back on the line she says they can't fix it and to come get the wheel. Also, they CAN repaint my wheel that I can't use. Sure sign me up... I understand you can't fix all the wheels, but please don't waste my time if you don't know what you are talking about. Have me speak with someone who does the repairs so I don't make multiple calls and trips for no reason. I show up Monday to get my wheel and am handed my wheel but none of the bags, covers, or even the box I dropped it off in is included. I ask for my other items back and the guy helping me gets on the phone and says he doesn't have them. He can give me a box but I'll have to wait for it until someone from the other location brings it to me. Yes please, I love when you trash my things and then being told to wait for you to fix your mess up. I get it, the covers and bags are probably under 10$ but hey I already bought them, so why do I have to again when it isn't my fault. Again, no apologies, two wasted trips to Meridian, I'm out a few bucks in stuff I have to repurchase due to them. All in all a bad experience with them. I won't be back. read more

I'll admit that when I saw the 2 previous reviews (the only 2 reviews on yelp) that were negative I was a little hesitant about whether or not I should bring my car down, but I remembered there are always 2 sides to every story...also you can't stay in business for as long as these guys have if the work, quality and service isn't any good right???...so I swung by this past Saturday and got a quote and was told to bring it back on Monday which I did. I was promised the repaired rim back by Tuesday and indeed the rim was repaired within 24 hours. I have an alloy wheel and it was a 4 step paint process to fix.
