Responding to 5/6/2022 1 STAR review of Dave's talent and his crew by suggesting that 5 STAR reviews posted are bogus and a ploy to get her business. I've had Dave work on my granddaughter Scion and we couldn't have been more pleased of his work and the crew working under him. Shortly thereafter my Ford Ranger was damaged due to a accident in Meridian and son of a gun, Dave of Auto Express came to mind knowing how talented and satisfied I was with his work on the Scion and wanted Dave of Auto Express to repair the Ranger. In both reviews I gave Dave and employees Auto Express 5 STARS of my own free will. One more thing I want to say, I'm only a customer that didn't know Dave of Auto Express before the Scion repair and wasn't offered any discount for the reviews. Today, I happen to notice a review that accused Dave of Auto Express of pulling some kind of bait and switch operation by making up 5 STAR reviews. I asked for a quote to paint a couple parts from my Harley motorcycle (gas tank, front fairing, and 2 small side covers). It took forever to get a reply. These are the nicest people! I was having a terrible case of the Mondays, and my bumper fell halfway off first thing in the morning while I was out taking kids to school. STOP!!! Before going any further READ THIS: I discovered Auto Express via Yelp. I submitted a quote request through the app and Auto Express responded within minutes. I had already identified other body shops in the area with 5 star reviews, so I added Auto Express to the list for getting a quote. I'm so glad I did because it was obvious Dave has the best kind of OCD - attention every detail and the need to fix the problem. Immediately he fixed a hanging part of the wheel well while he was inspecting the damage. I had a dent to the rear bumper and needed it to look like nothing had happened. I didn't want to spend an arm or a leg and I couldn't have it in the shop that long. Even though the quote was slightly higher than I received from other body shops I trusted Dave to get it done right. Plus, I took advantage of the 15% discount for first time customers. In the end it cost me much less than what was quoted. Dave found ways to save me money. Most importantly, my vehicle looked better than when I brought it in and no hint that anything ever happened. Well, everyone is correct, 5+ stars to David, his crew and shop. I happened to stumble on his shop when I was getting lunch next door at the Great Harvest Bread Company (another 5 start experience) and I had been looking for a body shop. David was pleasant, professional, calm, friendly, direct and above all....honest. His quote was less than half of what the dealership quoted me. My appointment was soon and repairs were completely quickly. I added some work at drop-off and he was glad to add the service. I also stopped by during repair and asked for an accessory to be added, no problem at all with ordering and installation during the same schedule. He didn't take a deposit, nor payment at drop-off, only at completion of repair. Classy. Repair work exceeded my expectations! I plan to return for some other modifications and accessories later. My parked 2006 Highlander had it's front bumper cover tore off by a negligent garbage truck driver who had left the "bin retrieving claw" extended while going to his next pick up. I contacted Auto Express for an estimate after I got the insurance info. Dave gave me the estimate, which was nearly 2/3 less than one of his competitors. Dropped the vehicle off on Wednesday and had it back Thursday afternoon. He and his guys did an incredible job, They fixed or replaced every damaged item. It surprised me because it's such a small shop. Dave also worked with the insurance to make sure the bill was paid in full instead of me having to chase it down. After two failed attempts to correctly match the original Toyota color Auto Express 208 Boise Idaho has earned a critical negative review. I had Auto Express LLC replace and refinish a section of my Toyota bumper to match the original factory finish. David Allen assured me he was trained by the "Best". Toyota builds an estimated 10 million vehicles a year and selected PPG paint as their original finish. PPG is the American company that pioneered anti corrosion protection. It is no wonder Toyota selected them. Trust Toyota's expertise as they are vehicle paint experts. Auto Express LLC charged the full estimated rate that a large I-Car certified shop using PPG paint would charge. These estimates are for factory parts and a quality paint and professional workmanship. When I picked the car up I pointed out that the bumper looked darker then the original factory finish. David Allen said it was the indoor light. However the sunlight quickly showed the truth. David Allen used Akzonobel paint for the refinish. After drilling the point home David Allen agreed to repaint the bumper. We discussed using PPG paint for the repaint. However once Dave Allen had the vehicle he choose Akzonobel paint again for the rework, When I picked up the car for the second time the bumper was obviously too light. The first time the bumper was too dark and after the repaint the bumper was too light. David Allen the owner does not have I-Car credentials. Neither does Auto Express LLC Boise Idaho nor his employee. The correct steps to getting the correct color is match the color, match the shade, match the metal flake and match the metal flake density. Toyota uses many types of metal flake so make sure the painting technician uses the correct one. I-Car certification assures the public that the workman has the proper training and expertise that would lead to a professional repair. If you own a Toyota or Lexus I-Car credentials and PPG paint improves your chances of getting your moneys worth. Take a picture of their credentials and then verify their authenticity with I-Car before giving the body shop your car and money. Don't be fooled by a worthless lifetime guarantee using second rate low caliber paint. Most Collision Repair Shops don't make it. Second rate low caliber paint is likely to fade, peel and even blister. A top caliber paint job requires top caliber paint. I suggest you have the body shop document their I-Car credentials and their written commitment to using PPG paint for your repair. This way you will have the service agreement in writing and are less likely to be disappointed by a mediocre repair. Consumers should be suspicious and cautious with reviews. No business can make everybody happy all of the time. You should be very suspicious of any business that has lots of five star reviews. The collision repair shop or one of their employees may actually be posting the phony reviews themselves. The usual suspects for the phony reviews are wives, girlfriends and even the children. A desperate business can hire a reputation enhancement company for as little as five dollars to write and post phony reviews. A legitimate business does not ruin their reputation by posting phony reviews. Check the posting dates of those five star reviews. A five star review that is posted after a negative review is suspicious. This may be an attempt by the business owner at burying the negative review. If a consumer is bribed with free products or services in exchange for a five star review then the review is actually a phony review. Do you trust those Foolgle reviews? AMAZING customer service! This place will certainly take care of you with no expectation in return. I was passing through on my way to Reno and the day before I had clipped my bumper backing out of a parking spot and it pulled out some of the snaps on the front right bumper. I was able to drive but I happened to stop for breakfast next door and noticed this place, so I walked in, not expecting for them to just drop everything and help, but he did come took a look to see what/if he could do anything. 10 minutes later my bumper was back to normal and he was able to clip everything back into place, as well as can be anyway. There was a bent plastic piece underneath, but not a huge deal. I asked how much I owned him and he said nothing, no worries.
