Truck accident. Damaged front end.
Cody G.

I absolutely CAN NOT express how pleased I am with Gordon and Jeff at Custom Works. These gentleman are extreme professionals with what they do. I was in an inconvenient fender bender that caused some damage to the front of my Silverado. I dropped it off to CW and within the week that had it back to me looking brand-spanking new! Thanks, Custom Works! Your guys workmanship and efficiency is something that can not be matched!

Ask the Community - CW Collision Repair

I have a metal office desk that I would like to have painted white. Would your company do something like that? It is a typical metal office desk with drawers on both sides.

I don't know if that would be your best bet as far as price wise. Automotive paint is extremely expensive. By the time you prepped it and painted it, it would probably cost you more than what you might think.

Rarely do I take the time to review a company, but after my experience with this company I felt…read morecompelled to share with others, that they might not make the same mistakes I made. I had the unfortunate experience of being involved in a motor vehicle accident that was "not my fault". I initially felt fortunate that it wasn't my fault and the other party would be responsible for the repairs. My vehicle was brand new, only having been driven for 2 months with limited miles. I called the dealer that sold me the vehicle and they recommended Cope Collision for the repairs. After having the vehicle towed to Cope they did an initial inspection, without opening the hood, and sent me the estimate for this. This is all very appropriate. They also sent me a Docusign to sign which gave them permission to continue with the repairs. Here is where I made my mistake. I did not read the Docusign thoroughly and signed it. Not only did this document give them permission to order parts needed, it also stated that I would be responsible for all repairs that the at fault drivers insurance didn't cover. I know what you are thinking, "you can't fix stupid". I agree and I deeply regret having signed this. I was then told by the insurance company, who had contacted me to inform me they were going to total the vehicle (at a fair price). After having signed this document they revoked the offer and said because I signed this document Cope had ordered several thousand dollars worth of parts which they said could not be returned. I feel Cope should have explained to me that by signing this document it would set in motion a process that could not be reversed. Also, all along this process I told Cope that I would not pay any out of pocket expenses, even if the insurance company didn't cover 100% of the damage repair. The spokesperson at Cope repeatedly told me he understood and I would not have to pay anything when the vehicle was repaired. Not true. I ended up paying what the insurance didn't. Again, if Cope had been more transparent they could have explained that I might be responsible for any extra charges . In Cope's defense they wanted me to sign an additional document when I picked up the vehicle, that would allow them to pursue funds owed. No explanation was given what this document was. It turns out that this document gave them permission to initiate a law suit against the insurance company to attempt to retrieve whatever expenses they didn't collect. This time I actually read the paper work, which would have once again left me on the hook for any money not collected. I could only imagine what interest they would have tacked on to the amount not collected and most likely lawyers and collection fees as well. When I went to pick up the vehicle they held my car hostage until the bill was paid. The actual amount owed was a couple of thousand dollars less because the insurance company mailed the last supplement check, which Cope had not yet posted. Before they had me sign any paper work they should have checked for this payment, which their secretary had acknowledged they had received. All in all, the insurance paid about 98% of the total bill. If this bill was paid with a credit card Cope would have received even less than this. This entire process took 3 1/2 months. Bottom line: I would not recommend using this company, unless you walk into their establishment wearing a sign that says, "I am stupid".

I took my car to caliber after a crash and all my car needed was a front end, just cosmetic work. They delivered me a supplemental charge to my car that made absolutely no sense and forced my insurance to total the car if the price couldn't be brought down. After they told me they wouldn't reassemble my car so I could take it, I finally decided to take tow it to another shop. After getting my car to a new shop my bill was over 6,000 less than what Caliber had given me, yet that price couldn't come down at all somehow. I don't know if I was being scammed or if someone wanted to buy my car, but this was very distasteful and I will not be working with this company again.

We were able to make it to our hotel and the next morning we went into Caliber Collision in Meridian and they very graciously made time to check if our car was safe to drive for the rest of our trip. We are now able to continue our trip, with very little delay, and feel comfortable doing so. Jenn also let us know that there are Caliber Collisions all along our route and to stop in along the way if we feel the need to do so. We are incredibly impressed with the speed and respectful help we have received.

From the time my husband called to ask about getting an estimate (you don't need to make an appointment to do this but fyi, they stop doing estimates at about 4p each day), to scheduling the work, to getting the work done, the communication and customer service were excellent. So was the quality of the finished work. Plus they got the work done in the interval they estimated and at the cost too. They did, in good customer service fashion, let my husband know that if something else was found after they took the vehicle apart to do the work that the cost could go up and if they found something unexpected they would call and let him know of any additional cost before the work started. Fortunate for us, all was as they expected for work to be done. Caliber has several shops in the Boise area; we chose Eagle since it was close to our home. It was not the shop our dealer, and we trust our dealer's service department very much, recommended but that one had pretty poor customer service on the front end, quoted a price more than double of Caliber's and wanted to keep the vehicle for two full weeks, whereas Caliber estimated one week, which it was. That also saved us a week of rental car fees compared to the other body shop. We are consumers who look for quality as our decision point and so almost never go with the lowest cost bid or estimate on anything, especially when the estimate is so much lower than the other provider. But my husband had a lot of confidence in Caliber after taking the car in for the estimate and talking with Brian E., one of their service advisors. As it turns out, it was a great decision to use Caliber. If you need body work done, based on our experience in Eagle, we'd recommend any of the Boise area Caliber locations. In fact, we are going to let the auto dealer's service department know about our great experience with Caliber so they might consider putting this body shop on their recommended list too.
