I wish I would've read these reviews before! I took a vintage Wrangler Jean jacket in to have custom embroidery done on the back. It took over 5 months and several trips into her shop because she does not respond to email or the phone. She only agreed to do the work by a deadline after I said I was coming to get the jacket. And she still didn't meet the deadline. When I picked up the jacket she discounted it saying it was because it took so long. But the letter embroidery was crooked and ran up on the seam, the artwork was much smaller and not proportionate. The cowgirl's head looks squished and she has a dark brown leg "chap" on one side which does not match the other side. I have now spent several hours taking it out and will find someone else to do the custom work. A very frustrating experience to say the least. read more

My sister was wanting to design autism positive clothing and we weren't happy with the quality of the samples of a company we were working with. So I was shopping around, wanting to find someone local to support, and wanting to touch and feel the materials so that we could guarantee that they were sensory friendly. I reached out via FB messenger and asked about price points on sweatshirts and to make an appt. She refused to make an appt and suggested I come into the shop instead. Said that she was happy to help. But when I got there, nobody was masked and they seemed annoyed that I was. I showed them the samples from the other company. She said she couldn't do the pants (fine, technical explanation given) but she could do the sweatshirt. Great! And waited for her to show me ...something. Where the sweatshirts are? Start bringing me sweatshirts? Telling me the price points of the different sweatshirts? How much it would be to print the design? And she just stood there. Staring at me. Unsmiling. "Ummm... So how much to do the sweatshirt? " And she just.... Stared at me. She didn't say anything for a long while and stopped responding. I ended up just... Leaving. Not sure if they didn't like my mask, or my queer ass, but they were not very customer friendly! The quality of clothes that I saw were fantastic and was excited to work with them. Disappointed that it she didn't want to work with me, tho. It's so lovely that their business is doing well enough that they can be this choosy about their clientele. read more

Tried to support a local vendor even after a totally missed delivery date the first time. I placed an order at the end of last summer. I can't get a call back or an email reply. No luck with calling either. I'm writing checks to all the kids that didn't get their shirts because she also has the artwork I need. Unbelievable. read more

Potential customers BEWARE... I placed an order with HUCKLEBERRY INK on May 11th, 2016, I would fb message, periodically stop by the shop to see if the order was complete. No less than half a dozen times. Each time I stopped by the shop I was reassured they were a day behind, they were two away from my order, I was next, sorry, sorry, sorry, etc. I stopped in at the shop on August 5th (yes, folks you're reading that right, over 2 months after I placed the order) to see if the order was ready. I was told by Nancy's daughter that my order would be ready by Monday. I told her, if it isn't done on Monday just cancel the order it has been nearly 3 months since I have placed the order. She told me no, I'll have it done Monday. Monday rolled around and I didn't hear anything, while running errands today, Wednesday, I stopped by the shop to see if my order was ready. Nancy informed me that they went ahead and cancelled that order for me since it wouldn't be ready by the deadline. What?!?? The deadline of 3 months wasn't long enough??? I was patient, I was calm, I didn't lose my cool. I was polite. The level of unprofessionalism here is astounding. The lack of communication is deplorable! The irony is...this shop had time to print up stickers for car windows that support "the thin blue line" for their community. My shirt order is for a bicycle frame company that was started to honor fallen Pierce County Sheriff deputy Kent Mundell and we proudly wear a star logo with the number 423, Deputy Mundell's badge number, to honor this fallen hero. The way I was treated as a customer is very disappointing and is unacceptable! Thankfully, I didn't put any money down. Second time I've tried to order things from her. First was for my sons baseball team a couple years ago, hats for myself never made it to the season and the season just started when i ordered and paid foe then. Haven't got a call still and it's been a couple years. Told my wife to order a couple signs month ago and had one response back saying it would be done by end of week. Called at end of week and no answer, emailed and still no answer, left a message and no call back. I will not recommend this place to anyone! This shop has tons of great gifts that the owner creativity customizes. We have ordered many sports team uniforms from her and have been very satisfied with the quality and price. Exercise caution. Lack of communication is unprofessional. We wanted to support small business, but apparently, Huckleberry Ink (Nancy Moran Julian) does not appreciate customers. We stopped by Huckleberry Ink early December since we were in the area. A friend had mentioned the shop and I noticed on Facebook Nancy had posted the shop was open. We browsed for a minutes, talking to each other about items, and finally deciding we could get something made for our son. We asked Nancy (the owner) if she had done jobs for our son's school and she had. We decided on a letterman style jacket with his name and school colors. We asked if it could be ready by Christmas, knowing there was a chance it wouldn't be. Nancy assured us she could get it done by then and completed an order sheet with our design, names, and phone numbers. That week, I sent Nancy an email with information about a potential order I would like to place. I never received an email back from her. The week before Christmas, which is when Nancy said the jacket would be done, we called several times. Nancy told us the jacket was a few days behind because of the train wreck blocking I-5. This was understandable. We were persistent and checked in with her a few times. We went to her shop the week before Christmas asking about the jacket but also placing another order. My husband wanted to make shirts for his crew, complete with official logos, names, and designs. Nancy assured us she could do the work but needed the official logo/artwork sent via email. My husband received the official artwork, sent it to her via email, and confirmed sizes. This is when Nancy's communication stopped. She confirmed she got the artwork, but never followed up after that. After my husband repeatedly tried to call her, he shared his thoughts that maybe she was screening his calls. Finally, I called and spoke to someone in the shop. I requested Nancy, but she was out in the field. I called back when she was supposed to be in the shop but she was back. I relayed how I really needed to speak with her and was wanting to talk about the two orders we had placed with her. After not receiving a return phone call, I left a voicemail. I feel my calls are being screened now too. Do not use Huckleberry Ink if you have reasonable expectations of how business is completed. It's now almost two months since we stopped by Nancy's shop originally. We have not heard from her about our orders nor have we received any items. The only saving grace is there was no money exchanged. Sad when small business reminds you why big business can be better business. read more

Words cannot describe my disappointment. I know many people who do a lot of business with Nancy but I will be advising them to take their business elsewhere after my recent experience with her. I work for a local family owned company and we are sponsors of the Wolf's Throwdown this year and last minute decided we wanted to make some shirts for the 3 employees who would be working the event. It was Friday and we had exactly a week until we needed the shirts. Knowing from others that Nancy is quick and reasonably priced, I called Huckleberry Ink. She informed me that she could do it and we planned on me stopping by that afternoon. When I was there Nancy made several comments that were off putting, but everyone has a bad day so I shrugged it off as no big deal. Upon leaving I was told that she would have a proof ready for me by Sunday so I could get the design approved by my boss. Tuesday morning I had no email from her. So I called and left a voicemail, later texted her, then even later called back to leave another voicemail. Never heard anything back. So the next day, now only 2 days from when I need the shirts by, I still had no response or email proof from Nancy. I again texted her and called resulting in another voicemail. At this point I was forced to look into other options for my shirts that I needed ASAP. Luckily for us Budd Bay Embroidery & Screen Printing picked up Huckleberry Ink's slack and even overnight shipped shirts down in order to make sure we got what we wanted in the limited time frame. Not only was Budd Bay going above and beyond for us but they did it with a smile as if it was no big deal. It is the day before I needed the shirts and have still not seen a proof or heard anything from Huckleberry Ink. So I texted her this morning to consider my order canceled and that I found a more reliable business to take care of it. Nancy's lack of professionalism and reliability lost her a customer. read more
