The place had business but plenty of parking so it wasn't hard to find a spot. Decided to get a couple medium 10oz Ribeye Steak plates with one being the Surf N'Turf upgrade with lightly battered shrimp ordered online with a couple sides each for a nice dinner at home. This Huddle House wasnt always on the ball with online orders a few months before the Covid hit but now they're really on the ball. Online ordering and curbside were options advertised on their signs and in the app as well as safety precautions so thats reassuring. I checked my order and everything seemed to be in order. They even labeled the two different steak sauces we asked for online which was very appreciated because they looked too similar in their cups. My steak had a nice healthy pinker center and seared seasoned surface, tender and flavorful. The ribeye was so good I almost forgot to try some steak sauce but I love experiencing different flavors. The Mac and cheese was creamy but thicc and not flavorless like I imagined, absolutely would order that side again. The loaded baked potato was decent, bacon and shredded cheese on top. If I could change anything with the loaded potato, maybe split the spud more for more topping space. Also wish I was asked if I wanted sour cream and/or butter with it, never had to ask McAlisters for that, so Ill remember next time I want a spud. I checked the app and ordering online automatically adds to the rewards program Huddle House offers so that was really convenient too, even recognized the special online coupon code I found and would highly recommend. On a several hour road trip with 3 small children, stopped at approx 10 am to get breakfast. Not a single person acknowledged us. They had several tables but were not packed. Every worker was just standing behind the counter, looking at us like we werent supposed to be there? We wiped an empty table and sat down and waited approx 10-15 minutes, still unacknowledged, when 2 more tables showed up and seated themselves we went ahead and left and came to waffle house right down the road. read more

Waitress got all orders wrong. She did not open her mouth to talk even loud. Had to ask twice for butter, syrup, and silverware. Another waitress bought our food. She never came back. Had to go get our ticket. Biscuits were hard, eggs not cooked right and cold. Never to return!!!! read more

The service was horrible we waited for 45 minutes and still had not received our drinks after having to change drinks because they did not know how to make hot chocolate. What the hell!!! Went in for a quick meal while on a long trip back to MissourI. Walked in around 11:00 AM and knew right away that it was a mistake. No napkins in the holder and the waitress looked like she had been wrestling with a slab of bacon. Before we ordered, the diners in the next booth were telling the waitress that their eggs were not cooked to order. She said that was the way they cooked them at Huddle House. Then she took our orders which were the quickie breakfast and the turkey bacon ranch sandwich. In a couple of minutes, she informed me that there was NO turkey so i ordered the BLT with fries. About two minutes later, I heard her tell another customer that there were NO fries. Then she came to our table to tell me the bad news...again. That did it!! We went in this morning for breakfast. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and welcomed like we were family! Keke was at our table before 1 minute of us being there. She offered us strawberry lemonade which is amazing by the way. She took our order and it was out very quickly. Omelet was amazing and the vegetables were cooked just right. Everything was clean and organized neatly. Cook and Keke was both amazing and they took excellent care of us. Best service we have had in a long time! The folks that work here would rather talk and cut up than take care of the customers. Another customer had to tell the waitress that other people didn't get a menu yet and had been sitting for awhile. Had to wait a very long time for the waitress to eventually come to get order and this place is not very clean. I've seen cleaner at run down grease truck stop kitchens. The staff was very lazy and didn't care about the job they are supposed to be doing. Wish I could give a negative 10 stars. Don't waste your time and money here. Similar to a Waffle House but much better in my opinion. Great breakfast selections and very attentive staff. I opted for the Smokehouse Special. Three eggs, two sausage patties, three bacon strips, shredded hash browns (loaded with cheeses, onions, peppers, and ham), grits and toast. It was fantastic! Add coffee and my bill was only $11 not counting tip. The only other breakfast options (aside from fast food or hotel) are Waffle House and Cracker Barrel (on Sunday). So we walk in, numerous dirty tables. Takes them about 10 minutes to get us a table cleared off. We get ready to order, my son asks about a milkshake, the waitress lets us know that she nor anyone in the restaurant knows how to make one. Ok, my wife (at another table) asks about a milkshake, gets same answer. Then the waitress comes back and says the cook knows how to make a milkshake. Wife says great, I'll take a strawberry shake, guess what, they have no strawberries...... I order a ribeye with shrimp with sides of a salad and chili. The waitress asks the cook if we have chili, he says yes. The waitress comes back later and says we don't have chili, what else would I like. I said how about a baked potato. She says we don't have that either......so I get a second salad. If your still reading the food was decent at best. Which explains the two and not one rating. Not nearly good enough for me to come back unless this is the only thing open and I am starving. Wow what a disappointment! We go to huddle house all the time but I think the one in Batesville was our first (and last) I think I have walked out of a restaurant maybe 2xs in my 52 years. . Went in it was NOT busy (unless you want to call chatting with coworkers busy) after a few min a server came to get our drinks. No orange juice. Like really? After 10 minutes brings our water. Takes our order and never comes back. 30 minutes we waited. People came in got served and left before we even thought about leaving. Others that came in AFTER us were able to eat and yet the server had no explanation. The floors in the cooking area were FILTHY!!!! Stopped for lunch. Ordered a BLT with a cardboard flavor off white color tomato. Asked the manager she would eat this tomato and she asked me what was wrong with it. Seriously!! She asked me what was wrong with it--when you see the picture that will get even funnier. I told her never mind, if she didn't know was wrong with the tomato she might want to rethink her career choice. If you like green tomatoes here's the place but they don't fry them, they serve them on your sandwich. Allows email and in different manager. Beware! Elderly mistreatment by (acting) manager! Monica (waitress and acting shift mgr) rang me up without my requested elder discount. When I pointed this out, she indicated that it was a problem to re-ring it so I told her I would leave it as is and we would take care of the $4 on my next visit since I am a customer about 6 to 8 times a month. When I came back, Monica would not talk to me, the waitress that took care of me took my note to give to the manager to refund my $4. That was over a week ago and no call or other contact has been received. I will not return until I receive the $4 I am owed. Others should beware. This is not right and surely any manager would want to know how the elderly are being treated. Note that I have had problems with this manager before and probably should have said something about it before. My bad. read more

Tried to eat there this morning traveling through Batesville, MS. It was a horrendous experience that will most likely keep me away from any and all Huddle House restaurants for a long time. We waited for close to 30 minutes and the food was cold and hard. The eggs were hard. I've never needed a knife to cut scrambled eggs. The sausage was cold and hard. The toast was cold with cold butter. The grits, as told to me by the waitress, who by the way was excellent, said she heated them for me. I assume they were yesterday's grits reheated. They were nasty. Actually, the entire meal was probably yesterday's meal reheated. I blame the management for cutting corners and trying to save money. How hard is it to cook a fresh breakfast? Great visit came about 11:30 Sunday night. The server was insane about the women doing so well with the Olympics. This server was the the gold medal champion of the night. She tended to us so well. The server even cooked our order. Cause the cook was outside getting high for allmost the entire duration of our visit. I would highly advise not going to this restaurant. We waited over 40 minutes and still our order was not even put into the grill. Had to ask for a refill on our drinks after the waitress walked by her table several times. We finally just left. Looking at the plates around us, the food looked very unappetizing as well.
