Me and my wife ordered the smash burgers. The hostess brought us our meal but was missing several items. She that the entire staff was a little slow in busing tables, bringing condiments, etc, I stood up and grabbed a catsup bottle from an adjacent table. The hostess Ariel snapped at me and said, "Next time if you need something, ask me. Don't let that happen again, ok?" I simply explained to her that I was the customer and the customer is always right. I simply told her that the service was a little slow. She rudely turned her back on me and left me speaking. This is a flagrant lack of respect towards customers and an indication that she lack the basic social skills need when interacting with customers. Ariel needs to be properly retrained or let go. Fortunately this is our second time back and extremely enjoy your burgers. This incident will not hold us back from coming to your restaurant. Rest assured that I sent an email to the Huddle House corporate office so they can correct this problem. The food is great but some their wait staff are inexperienced young adults who lack the maturity and social skills needed to interact with customers. Great little place to get some breakfast. This place is always packed, so plan to wait. The wait staff does their best & I`ve found our service has been consistent. I find it odd that most of the complaints are about the wait & service, but yet, the same whiners keep coming back. I`ve never understood that, but anywho! The food is plentiful, hot, and priced just right. The food is made to order, why would I complain about the wait? The wait staff is working hard to keep everyone happy, I made sure to pay attention since the complainers seem to focus on this. This place is located off the main road & in the hotel parking lot, we usually stay so its very convenient for us. We come here when we stay in Eagle Pass to hit the casino. Ordered the patty melt on Texas toast and got soggy meat on soggy bread. They didn't even bother to toast the bread. All of our orders were completely wrong. We were interested in a place for Sunday brunch. We were a bit surprised that with a full parking lot there were still tables available and no wait. Service was very pleasant and helpful, and the wait for food was reasonable. We ordered entrees plus the blueberry muffin bites. I really appreciated them being out the muffin bites and drinks quickly. That is great service! The food was exactly what we were expecting and on par with other huddle house visits. I went this past Saturday and I was amazed at the customer service that was provided by the wait staff. I thought we were going to be waiting for a while because there were 2 large groups and other tables filled. To my surprise they greeted us and took our beverage order right away. The food was amazing. I ordered the MVP breakfast and my son ordered something similar to mine. The food came out hot and just how we ordered it. I had a couple of bad experiences 5 yrs ago and vowed to never go back but I decided to give it another shot. Man, has this place improved! I will definitely be going back. We went this morning for noon breakfast it was semi full. There were people waiting for a table to be seated, there were over 7 dirty tables. We waited 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned. None of the servers cleaned their tables they asked a sweet dishwasher lady to come clean the tables. I tipped her for cleaning a table for us, she was kind she even brought us our menus. The wait staff only interest was in getting their tips off the table. The food was delicious as always the only that bugged me an my husband and mother in laws was how they had the dishwasher so this. I have worked as a waitress before I never left all the plates on the table this way even when we were busy most I left was glasses with utensils in them. We went to huddle house for breakfast after not being there for a year. Nothing has changed...terrible service, food was not any better. We waited over an hour to be served. Every order either was wrong or cold. I also had coupons and after complaining about the wrong orders, an adjustment was made and coupons dropped. The price actually went up. I had to speak to the owner/manager who was not at all friendly or apologetic but did finally get my bill fixed. We will not be giving it another chance. We've been there 3 times in 2 years and unfortunately, nothing has improved. I'm not sure how this restaurant stays in business. read more

My sister and I were in town visiting the casino. We woke up and decided to visit the Huddle House. The waitress was a very nice girl but I am convinced that that day was her first. I ordered one pancake, one strip of bacon, and one small bowl of oatmeal. My sister ordered two pancakes, two strips of bacon, and coffee. Simple? Right? WRONG!!! She didn't write anything down, she came back to the table at least 3x to ask us what did we want.‍. When the cold food arrived, nothing was right! Big Surprise ! But wait..... We actually went back the next day because service that awful HAD to be a fluke! Sure enough, we sat in a different spot, the waitress was on top of things, and the service was wonderful ! I could rave for hours about the biscuits and gravy and our service. The girls were very attentive. The rest of my food (Big House Platter) I was not a fan of. We also had the mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries. I like my firs a little more crisp than how they were brought out. The other dish was a grilled chicken salad. It was a salad. Not much else to say about that one. It took a little while to get our food and there was only 1 other table in the restaurant. I would go again to just get those biscuits and gravy! We came to huddle house for a late breakfast, my wife had grits and raisin toast and I had the stuffed hash browns Grits were a little undercooked , but still good My meal was excellent the way I like it cooked and salsa should be bottled. Eaten here a lot and if it's one thing I hate is there customer service. The staff will literally stare at you and watch you wait. The food is good but their service is horrible. I never mind the wait but sitting at a table for 15-20 minutes for drinks is crazy. Eagle Pass population is less than 30,000 and maybe a bit more relaxed but we go in at 9:45 and are never out before 11. We were staying at the hotel next to the restaurant and decided to go for breakfast. Everything was going well until our food arrived. All 4 breakfast platters had cold eggs. We told the waitress and she said she would microwave the platters. We stated we would like new eggs and she walks away and we see her stick our plates in the microwave. When our food finally did come out as I said earlier it was cold, and my husband's order was wrong. It was a shame because everything had great flavor. My French toast was sweet and cooked to the perfect consistency but cold. The hash browns were golden brown and crispy but cold. The pancake oh the pancake was huge, Golden, and buttery but cold. And the biggest disappointment was the biscuit and gravy. We were so excited to try it. The gravy was creamy and the sausage complimented the biscuit perfectly BUT IT WAS COLD!! Our waitress looked a little overwhelmed, which caused her to be forgetful. She forgot our straws and my daughters drink. Then when my daughter's drink was brought out it had a hole. And just forgot about us. She didn't check up on us after bringing the food. My family piled our dirty, empty plates together and placed them at the edge of the table to hint we were done eating and needed the tab. The server appeared to be in a bad mood and rushing thru the order. A tip for you "if you've had a bad start to your day call in." He was most unhappy for whatever reason. We ordered the MVP breakfast for 6.99. Reasonable for the value. Waffles were served first which we found odd. Another server brought them and she was in a bad mood too. They were cold and we sent them back while asking for the manager. She was pleasant and helpful. Our order came and the food was good. Server avoided us and never came back to check up. Overall experience rated a one star and probably will not return. Management needs to have coaching lessons for her staff on customer etiquette. read more

I visited this place in August 2014 but was not a Yelp user then. I have just read the other reviews and noticed that it's either a hit or miss. Well, I was lucky to have had a good experience. The girl who helped me out was very friendly and never allowed my coffee to go below the halfway mark. The portions were very generous and my food was steaming hot when it was served. It was not crowed but it was not empty. The only reason why I docked a star is because I like my eggs scrambled hard and that's not what I was served. The Huddle House was very neat and clean. The (1) waitress that was there seemed inexperienced yet tried to do a good job. The place was pretty empty. It was our party of (4), and a party of (3), and a couple at a booth. We were very patient with her. We didn't have to wait too long for her to come to our table. We placed our orders, mine was an open-faced biscuit covered with gravy, sausage, eggs, & more. My wife ordered the breakfast platter with biscuits and gravy. My sone had a kids burger and my daughter ordered French toast. This was around 8:00pm. We waited about 10-15 minutes then she came to us and said, they only have one biscuit. I said give my wife the biscuit and I'll take a cheeseburger. Everybody got their food at about the same time. My daughter said her French toast was good, my wife liked the waffle, bacon, and eggs, but not so much the hash browns , which she prefers extra crispy. I ate them for her and they were okay. My burger was very good. Came with fresh lettuce and tomato, French fries on the side. The patty was about 75-80% the size of the bun. It could have been made big enough to fit the bun, but flavor was there for sure. We each had old fashioned milkshakes which we all agreed were great and at $2.99/each, not too expensive either. I signed up for their huddle club promotion and received a brownie desert with ice cream, whipped topping and a cherry. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. The waitress admitted she had never made one but she did a good first job. My thoughts on this establishment are, the staff need a little more guidance and/or training. They were very nice but maybe not the most well trained. And no manager was onsite at the time we visited leaving them (1 waitress & 1 cook) to kind of fend for themselves.
