This was me and my boyfriend's first time going to Huddle House. It was a wonderful experience. Food was great, staff was amazing!

No lines and employees were so nice. An enjoyable place to be. Sadly the food is where things went downhill. It came out super fast so that was good but oddly it was all Luke warm or cold. Eggs good, grits A+, toast good but bacon was cold & chewy despite being cooked on a griddle, hash browns were cold & not crispy at all, hash brown casserole cold and not much in it, waffle was cold & soggy. Today was very disappointing. I had the problem of sitting in those seats that have dividers. This lady's kid kept poking his head around to us. We kept saying to stop. Finally I got up and told the mother to ask them to stop since the server stated they could not do anything. Finally I went to the register stating I had had enough of the bouncing seat throughout the meal. The server tried to say that it was a baby and thats what they do. I'm sorry what happened to the customer is right. At no time did anyone apologize of what I had to endure thru the meal. It seems parents who don't train kids how to be in public is a trend. I even stated then. They didn't need to go in public. That seemed to agitate the server. I think this is last time this location gets my business. Not a pleasant experience at all! read more

I moved to Montevallo just before restaurants began closing off their dining areas due to COVID. Several times, I would place online orders through their app and have no issues. After dining rooms started reopening, things seemed to go quickly downhill for this location. It was nearly every day that there would be a sign outside in the parking lot, advising they'd closed early, or were closed the entire day. This continued for weeks after their main sign was updated to advertise that they were now open daily, from 6AM-10PM. In fact, it became a running joke between my father and I to get excited about the possibility of them being open whenever we would drive by, only to see that once again, closed early, or never opened for the day. Forget trying to place an online order. The hours were so inconsistent that I think the online ordering was shut down completely for a while. Eventually the hours were changed to 6AM-2PM, and since that changed, I don't believe I have seen them closed within that time frame, which is good. Today was the day we finally decided to stop for a meal since the change in hours. Upon arrival, we see 4-5 employees, all sitting at a table by a side door that leads out into the parking lot, and they're cutting up, talking and/or smoking. They all quickly filed back inside as soon as we got out of the car. Whether or not they all washed their hands before resuming duties, I can't say, but it's doubtful, because there's no way all of them could have done so and also have resumed their duties in the time it took us to walk inside and get a table. **On the front door and windows we noticed signs saying, "CASH ONLY," which was not a problem for us. The good: -We were quickly greeted and we gave our drink orders, got the drinks, gave our food orders, and quickly got the food-which was tasty! The server also kept checking on us as well. The bad: -Employees kept going back outside to that table in-between customers and/or cooking orders, only to come back in if new diners came in-like they did with us, or someone would go out and get one of the servers when her orders were ready. -We didn't see anyone wash their hands when they came back in, any of the times. -There was one customer who came in and the staff called her Granny, so I have to assume she was a regular. The server who took her order actually sat down at her table to talk to her for a few minutes, eventually getting her order and after giving that order to the cook and bringing coffee to the table, she sat down talking again! -My dad went to the restroom and came out saying the paper towel dispenser was empty, but there were just some set up off to the side if needed. He also mentioned the toilet paper dispenser was empty and nearby was a huge roll that clearly would not fit into the dispenser-as if, because of the shorter business hours, normal deliveries were no longer being made, so the staff couldn't get items that fit the dispensers and was stuck having to get what they could-which I could believe, considering I saw loaves of Walmart's Great Value brand bread on a bread rack in the back. The final straw for me came when the check was received (pictured). There was a Supply Chain Adjust amount listed, and it was approximately 3% of the subtotal. There's a trend now of businesses charging a 3-5% fee for credit cards, which is discounted if a customer pays cash, so I figured it might be that, but let's not forget those CASH ONLY signs I mentioned earlier. If that adjustment is for a credit card, it shouldn't have been there because no one could use a card today, so I decided to ask the server about it as we were cashing out. She said it was to help cover the recent increasing costs of everything. Having no intention of ever returning, I went ahead and paid it after learning what it was for. ** It wasn't until I was writing up the review that I noticed the subtotal plus the adjustment was $12.34 and the tax was $1.23. Sales tax for the area is 10%, so not only were we charged a separate fee of 3%-which was not for paying with a card, but we were charged sales tax on that fee! This was such a disappointing overall experience, considering the food itself, which was the main reason for going, and the actual service provided to us for those meals were not bad at all. As it stands, I'd only recommend this place for takeout orders, though with hesitation because of the staff constantly going indoors and outdoors and not appearing to ever wash their hands each time they'd come back near food! read more

After traveling 12 straight hours on the road from Pennsylvania, we pulled into the parking lot at the Huddle House in Montevallo, AL road weary, tired and hungry. We were greeted by the smiling, friendly, welcoming crew as soon as we walked in the door. We told them we were visiting our parents for their 60th wedding anniversary and our immediate family was coming to celebrate. The breakfast was served quickly and very fresh, made to order. We had such a great experience that we brought the entire family back 2 days later for breakfast. The Huddle House crew remembered us and why were we visiting and wished my parents happy anniversary. This place opens 24/7. It is next to piggly wiggly super market so that it is somewhat safe in the night. I like the taste of their food, even though they lack the presentation. read more

Busy spot on the weekends but nothing else hits the spot when you're craving breakfast! Better than Waffle House though for a few reasons... Cleaner, free wifi, two flat screens up showing the news or any big current sporting event, and lunch and dinner items available too. Philly cheese steak sandwich is amazing! Friendly service! Sometimes the food can take a little while when they are busy or a new cook is on the grill but that's a rarity! Def check out this spot! read more

Stopped for what we thought would be a quick bite while out riding around. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, which wasn't that great. The waitress didn't refill my husband's water or check on us after she brought our food. Will probably not eat at a Huddle House again anytime soon. read more

I am changing my review because of the last two visits. Second to last visit, the lady would not smile or anything. The only time she was happy was when she gave me my check. Then she was severely pissed off when I did not give her a tip. I desperately want to be able to tip people for all of their hard work, but being a full time college student and working full time and barely making ends meet, leaves me with nothing to give. I had to use my flex dollars given to me by the school just so I could have something to eat that night since I had ran out of food and had no money. Her behavior and reaction made me feel worse than I had already felt since I really wanted to giver her a tip. To make things worse, I got food poisoning from there. Last trip was better. Had a super great, super sweet lady who made it a great experience. But one problem, I got food poisoning again. This time, I had it really bad. I had not been that sick in a very long time so it hit me hard. After two food poisonings, I will not be back ever again. read more

Been there a couple of times and wverything was fine. But my recent visit was alright, I just had on problem.....the cook. He got the order right, but never gave me a part of my meal. I asked like three for it, but the cook seemed like it was such a big job that he didn't bother. The waitress even tried to get him to get it, but the cook must have been high or drunk or something cause it would just not get through his mind. The waitress, as sweet as she was, acted as if this was normal and really didn't bother to offer me anything else to replace the missing part of my meal. I won't really bother with Huddle House if either of these two are there. If it's such a shit job and you think so low of it or yourself, then quit. read more

Delicious waffles! This is the only Huddle House I know of. Pleasant wait staff. Quick service. Buy the trucker hat!
