Our party of 8 (5 adults & 3 kids) visited here on a busy Saturday night. We were quoted a 40 to 45 min wait. The wait wasn't bad and the hostess was very accommodating of our specific request for two separate tables. Service received was prompt & friendly by Hannah. My porterhouse steak wasn't prepared correctly so that was my one issue. They immediately got my meal corrected and packaged it for me to go, since we were pretty much wrapping up our meals. The remade steak was delicious, along with the crispy brussel sprouts and baked potato. I ate it for Sunday morning breakfast! Others at my table had the ribeye and salmon. They were satisfied with their food as well. This location has a 97 health score so thats a plus! We sat at a table and the kids had a booth. The dining room is comfortable and wasn't noisy. I was having trouble with deciding what I wanted to eat for the evening so I decided to give Longhorn a try. It was around 8:30 PM when I decided to place my order and the store closes at 10 PM so I knew I was cutting it sort of close here. I ordered the seafood chowder, the wild West shrimp, the T-bone steak, and the LH burger for two people. When it came to the service, I placed the pick up order online so the process was very easy. All I had to do was pull in the parking spot and let them know that it was a curbside order; it was ready within five minutes of me pulling up. It was also fairly empty so I know it was close to shutting down time. The worker who brought out my food to the car was extremely sweet. She let me know that my food was hot, fresh, and she even threw in a few extra goodies for us. We didn't get a chance to experience the ambience within the restaurant because we did do a curbside order but from what I know about Longhorn it is a casual restaurant. Now onto the food, we had the wild West shrimp as an appetizer, and it was still hot and fresh by the time we got home. Tasted amazing! Regarding the T-bone steak it was recommended that we order it medium so that it could cook to the medium well temperature once we got home, the steak was perfectly cooked and the broccoli was amazing as well; not chewy at all and perfectly seasoned. my LH burger was perfectly cooked too. I was too full to eat the shrimp and lobster chowder so I decided to eat it for lunch the following day, and it was perfectly cooked. They also gave us an extra bread roll, which we saved for our leftovers the following day, and that tasted wonderful as well. They give large portions so you're definitely getting what you pay for. Overall, I had an amazing pick up experience. The food was just as great as if you were to eat it on the inside of the restaurant. My brief interaction with the server was awesome and I can't wait to come back to give the inside of the restaurant a try! Can't forget the great prices too! 10/10 read more

Went for a last minute meal one evening after our plans changed. While we have gotten takeout, I don't know that I ever remember eating in at this location. We were seated quickly and offered something from the bar. They had a Jack and Coke special advertised, so we asked for that. Super surprised they were out of Jack. How the heck do you run out of Jack in the middle of the week when it's a promo item? Anyway, had to choose a different liquor and didn't get the benefit of the drink special price. It's always tricky for me when ordering a steak because of past experiences. I took a chance with LongHorn and went with their Ribeye, Loaded Idaho Baked Potato, Mixed Green Salad (no croutons) with ranch dressing and for dessert, Baker's Dozen Donut Bites with chocolate dipping sauce. I ordered through the app and received a text, parked and replied back with the number of the space. The food was delivered to the car without a long wait. The temperature of the steak and season worked perfectly for me, the potato and salad were delicious sides and those donut bites with the chocolate dipping sauce (fried to perfection with just the right amount of sugar) topped off this meal. I was able to use my birthday coupon for a free dessert (sign up for their emails). Hope to have more great experiences with this location. read more

The food is really good we have ordered different items on the menu. The salads are not always cold and crisp. The blue cheese dressing is delicious. Steaks are cooked to order. They do have some excellent deserts but are out of some most of the time. The servers know their stuff!! However like everywhere else there's not enough of them. With people needing jobs and restaurants needing help what's the problem, you could work till you find something full-time! TRUMP IS ALSO SAYING NO MORE TAXING TIPS OR CLAIMING ANY OF YOUR TIPS!!!! We got the onion rings for an app and they were very well seasoned and the sauce was great! I am glad that I filled up on those for sure. For my entree I got the steak salad and it was super bland. I am surprised to see I have not written a review before. Before the pandemic, we would come here about once a month I love their grilled salmon and my spouse will always eat a steak. There was a 20 minute wait, so we sat at the bar. The bar is setup so there is social distancing which is great. This time I ordered a Cobb salad and he ordered a French dip sandwich and fries. The bartender would wear a mask that at minimum covered her mouth, not always her nose. There is a man that I assume is a general manger who rarely wore his mask. He would pull it up when talking to customers, but not his employees. They forgot the dressing for my salad so the manager brought it to me. He stood right up next to me holding the container and waited for me to take it from him. Honestly, during a pandemic, please just set it down and give me distance! My salad was good, and there were no complaints from my husband about his French dip. So the food was fine. I noticed however that no one wipes down the bar after people left that I expected during a pandemic. I noticed this and used my own hand sanitizer on the bar surface so we could put our silverware down on a sanitized surface. I will not return until most everyone had been offered the vaccination. Longhorn is probably my favorite chain restaurant in the Alabaster area. Conveniently located in the Colonial Promenade, they are a great spot for steak! Usually when I come, I get the Renegade Sirloin. Always served at a perfect medium rare, this steak is juicy and flavorful! I really like the sautéed mushrooms you can order on the side. For my sides, I usually get the Caesar salad and loaded mashed potatoes, but since they've come out with the Crispy Brussels sprouts tossed in smoky honey butter, I've been addicted!! I normally finish with the molten lava cake, but all the desserts are delicious! The salmon is also excellent, if you're not in the mood for red meat! The service here is always excellent. I've never had a single complaint! One of the managers, (I think his name is Jay?) usually stops by our table to make sure everything is just right. That's a detail I definitely appreciate. So throw on you boots and your favorite cowboy hat, and go check out longhorn when you need some meat! read more

I attempted to dine at this location on last night, it was filthy. After I had to wait to be seated, I was sat at a table that was not cleaned very well, there was a huge pile of food under the table. I had to ask a server to clean underneath the table so I wouldn't have to step in food as I was sitting there. She came with a water filled mop and swiped under the table a few times, leaving the floor soaked. so now my feet are sliding around on this slippery surface. We then decide to go to the bar, but that was no better. There were empty plates and food all over the bar and no one attempted to clean it, so we would have somewhere to sit or a clean space in which to eat. Due to all the frustration just trying to have a simple meal we decided to leave.. this location really makes Longhorns look bad. read more

During the CoronaVirus pandemic we were on the road and got takeout dinner. The good first -- wife got Petite Flos Filet thought was was good. She liked the sweet potato better but still entree and side above average so a good start. The one downside to her meal was they didn't have the olive vinaigrette dressing for her salad so she settled for blue cheese. I got the bacon steakhouse burger. Very good. Definite upside was no tomatoes on either entree (wife is allergic) Usually the restaurant forgets and plates the dishes with standard set up. (Lettuce Tomato Onion) The big drawback was when got back to the room -- NO TO GO SILVERWARE -- During the pandemic it is takeout only it should just be second nature (I should gave looked before we drove off) Wife resourcefully scrounged plastic cutlery so the meal was saved. Longhorn really used to be a great restaurant to get a wonderful meal but it has changed management a few times and they hired some new cook's that didn't have the proper culinary skills to cook steaks especially when it came to their ribeye outlaw and 30 oz porterhouse!! Wow they used to be soooo delectable my wife and I would dine there regularly until the changes. The restaurant was always clean and the hostess was always real sweet. So Longhorn is I guess supposed to be a step between the likes of Applebees and places like that and next level steak houses like J Alexander (Redlands), Village Tavern, and those sorts. I kind of get a little frustrated, especially when you have STEAK in your name that you don't know how to get the right temperature on the meat. You literally cook steaks all day, every day and it should be the easiest thing in the world to accomplish. Now, I get there are different thicknesses, etc... get it within one temperature of what I requested. Medium well should never come out medium rare. Then go back to barely be medium. It then just gets to the point, I guess it's close enough --- which shouldn't be the case when you are paying the prices that they charge. All in all I really don't think I can come back to this location considering what I would call a lack of effort to get my meal cooked properly and especially at the price point they charge for the meals. read more

For a."chain" steakhouse, I was very impressed! The service was quick. Our waiter, Kiin, was friendly and knew the menu well. It was our first time there, so he recommended cocktails and menu items. I requested no croutons as I can't have gluten. The salad came out with croutons on it, and he recognized it right off and got me a new one without them asap. This is one of the few chain sit down restaurants in the Alabaster/Calera area. I've been here several times before and have always been satisfied with the service and the food. For the appetizer we ordered the firecracker chicken wraps (our favorite). For my meal I ordered the loaded potato soup with a mixed green salad. My boyfriend ordered the cowboy pork chops, baked potato, rice pilaf with a Cesar salad. Our server was super nice/ attentive, the wait time to order/receive food was short and the quality of our food was superb. The only downside about our experience is that they don't offer the lunch menu specials on Sunday afternoons. I was pleasantly surprised! It was my first time at Longhorn. I took my dad here for lunch while we were in the area running errands. Excellent service, plus kind friendly staff, and the food was perfect. I had the French onion soup and a garden salad. My dad had the shrimp and lobster chowder with the Maverick steak sandwich. No we're delicious. Roomy seating, clean facilities. Thanks Longhorn for a great lunch with my dad. Went tonight for a family meet up. There was a wait when we arrived so we met up and the bar and had drinks. The bartender was helpful and offered to make any mixed drink I could think of (she knew I was disappointed there was not a mixed drink menu). Our wait for a table was the amount of time we were told. Our waitress was very helpful and on top of things. The mushroom app is always a top choice item. We all got different steak related meals. Two of them were overcooked, but the waitress corrected them as quickly as possible and was extremely apologetic.
