Nice place for quality sandwiches, soups and salads. They do burgers on Thursday and Friday which I'll try next time. I ordered the Train Wreck sandwich that came with chips and a side-I chose BLT Pasta salad. Was all really good. My wife ordered the same sammich but had the broccoli salad. Again, all well done. We always ask the acid test question.....would we order these items again. We both agreed we would. Didn't sample any of the baked goods but they looked solid. I questioned the staff multiple times on multiple menu questions. All answered attentively and with concern. One staff member answered my queries and was so hospitable I my wife and I both thought she must be part of the ownership. Nope, just a lovely person who likes her job and offers great hospitality. This is my absolute favorite place to write and have a healthy (or indulgent if I so choose) lunch. I've been on the hunt for the best coffee shop in town and this one you can't beat. There's lots of seating (including a couch, sofa area) and there's lots of natural light coming in. The coffee is good and strong (they make the best London fog). You must try their baked goods. I've been coming here since they opened in alabaster. It is my top coffee shop in the area with an excellent customer service. The breakfast and lunch are delicious. I've had mornings where I couldn't go inside so I called ahead and they brought it out to my car which I greatly appreciate as a mom with two small kids. Only thing I would hope for is more seating especially on Saturday mornings. read more

I went there last week for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and the honeybee latte and both were very good. There's ample seating and a cozy little reading nook in the back. I stayed for several hours and got a lot of work done, and people were coming in and out The whole time. Found this pace by using Yelp to "find breakfast near me" and am very pleased. I ordered the stuffed French toast with sausage patty and copper latte...cleaned my plate and enjoyed every bite. Staff was busy but polite and attentive. It is a small storefront in downtown alabaster, we got lucky and found a parking spot in the street - I don't know where you would have to park or how far you'd have to walk if those few spots are full. Perfect quaint little spot for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They serve breakfast all day Saturdays and a light lunch menu. They have gluten free options to. I really, really wanted to like this place. I'm always on the lookout for a breakfast spot that has good coffee selections. This isn't it. I will give them 5 stars for decor. Super cute place. They do need more 4 top tables though. Lots of people meeting other people. And table vultures. And I'm going to throw my keys down while I go wait in line, sorry if you have no where to sit and your food may be ready. Service was friendly, but friendly only gets you so far. Service was very slow. Cashier seemed deeply confused about how to ring things into the system. We ordered a variety of items: pastries, breakfast, and coffees. They warmed the pastries, cinnamon roll & orange roll, before we walked away from the counter. One member of our party had a soft drink. They were out of the desired product at the fountain machine. It took 2-3 people almost 10 minutes to change it out. Meanwhile, cinnamon roll was cooling. The orange roll had zero flavor. It had orange flecks from the orange peel, but it had zero orange flavor. It was a decent size, but not worth the money due to lack of flavor. The cinnamon roll was slightly better. Same decent size, had some flavor, but nothing overwhelming. The pastries are supposedly made in store, but I've had mass market pastries with much, much more flavor. Our breakfast entries arrived before our coffee. I asked how we were supposed to get our coffees, were we supposed to wait at counter, do they bring to us, what. The server went to check on it. She came back and said she couldn't find our order. She asked a few questions so she could try to locate the order. I gave her the receipt that the cashier had given us. Well, it wasn't a receipt for us, it was the drink order ticket so that the coffee makers knew what to make. Off she went to make our coffees. Seeing the error, and considering we had our food (and only one person had a beverage), you would think that they would bump our order to the front of the line. Nope, they did not. Drinks did not arrive until after we had completed our meal. Now for the food... One diner had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were very small and very gummy, almost under cooked. The gravy lacked flavor (tasted strongly of just flour and water; no seasoning). The gravy was also separated. Honestly, most fast food restaurants have much better biscuits and gravy for 1/3 of the price. The bacon was average. The other two diners had a breakfast sandwich; one on croissant and one on sourdough. What a disappointment. Absolutely no flavor. The menu lists a homemade mayo on the sandwich. It was almost non-existent; and when it did exist, it did add a bit of flavor. I think the corner of the croissant had one small dab of mayo. It's really more like "essence of mayo". The cheese was advertised as sharp cheddar. There was no sharpness to the cheese. If it was sharp cheddar, it was a processed American slice of sharp cheddar, just there cheese with no flavor. The sandwiches come with what they call a fruit cup. Fruit cup to me implies a mixture of fruit, not the 6 or so globe grapes that were tossed in a cup. As mentioned, our coffees arrived after we finished eating. We had to choke that bland, sad food down with no beverage. We tossed our trash and took the coffees to go. We had ordered an orange blossom coffee and a copper latte. No joke, they tasted exactly the same. We swapped drinks around and no one could tell the difference. Not sure if they just forgot the syrups. The line was so long it was not worth trying to fix it (and I'm sure, we'd have to wait behind everyone else to get fresh drinks). I think that we may have just had a basic latte, but honestly, it tasted more like watered down coffee with skim milk. It's like getting a Yoohoo when you were expecting chocolate milk. Nothing wrong with a Yoohoo when it's what you are after to begin with. We spent $53 before tip...two pastries, two coffees, one soft drink, two breakfast sandwiches, and a biscuit and gravy. Disappointed doesn't cover it. If the hospital down the road put you on a bland diet, this is the place for you. read more

First, Alabaster does not have a lot of breakfast options so this was kind of what we had to choose from this Saturday afternoon. We ordered over the phone and it was kind of a train wreck, no pun intended. After reviewing the order over three times we finally agreed that it was correct. The first star is for the location. The restaurant itself is super cute. The second and third star are for the biscuits and gravy; they were so good! Kind of small portions for the price IMO. The reason I gave them three starts is what was done to the beautiful cinnamon rolls that they had in the bakery.... there were raisins in them!!! I was absolutely appalled that the only cinnamon roll option included the devils grapes... Anyways, we will wind up coming back and I hope that the raisins are gone and that it is easier to order. read more

I have been wanting to try this place. They are open with limited hours so I stopped in today and wanted to try the chicken salad. No one was in there at 2:09 so I didn't have to wait. I was informed however that the kitchen closes at 2pm and they could not accommodate my order. Hours state they are open until 3pm so I was a little confused. 1 star is for the decor, very nice inside and 2nd star is for the lady that told me the kitchen was closed. She was nice, but if you are going to post your hours open to 3pm, then I would suggest the kitchen stays open to 3pm as well. Very disappointed. So I don't have a review for the food since they turned away my business. I guess I will never know how good the food is since my first and only visit was unsatisfactory. read more

What a great addition to our community and what a great find the first time a tennis friend told me about this restaurant that had opened. We went there for lunch after tennis. It was so delicious! A group of us all had something different and everyone raved about their meals. I've been back a number of times and have loved it every time. My most recent purchase was when I needed to take a dish for a lunch party and didn't have time to make my broccoli salad as planned, so I called Copper Train and they fixed two quarts for me. I have to say, theirs was significantly better than my own, and I always thought mine was really good. Theirs was absolutely outstanding and everyone at the lunch party agreed and wanted to know where I got it (since I confessed I hadn't made it myself)! LOL! read more
