My cat Chloe was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney disease back in January by another vet in Hudson. When it came time to euthanize her, I called them for the appointment, but for some reason they didn't have the drugs available and referred me to Hudson Animal Hospital. I only wish I would have known about Hudson Animal Hospital before, because my experience there was far and above any other veterinary practice I've been to in the Nashua/Hudson area. They were totally kind, caring and professional, and helped make Chloe's passing as comfortable and respectful as possible. I felt genuinely listened to and supported by every member of the staff. I went in to get an estimate to have two benign cysts removed. The quote to have two cysts removed was nearly $5,000. It cost me 94$ to get a quote that was beyond the pale. Bring your pocketbook. Terrible place that is only interested in your money and not your pet's health. read more

I've brought Buster to HAH for all of his 7.5 years. The original vet we saw retired after a couple years so I had to choose another one there. I chose Dr Goldstein. She pushed to have Buster's teeth cleaned which the first vet never mentioned before. I decided to go ahead with the then $400 procedure. However, an expensive blood panel had to be done to be sure he can safely be put under for the cleaning. That blood panel came back with high liver enzymes. After over $600 of ultrasound and other blood tests, it turns out his liver and other organs were fine. Unable to afford his teeth cleaning now, I put it off. Last year, the doc wrote out an estimate for the cleaning of $800+!! This year, 2 years later, it's up over a grand! At his yearly exam last month, 9/2018, he wasnt feeling good so the doc wanted to hold off of his immunizations including rabies. Tests showed that he has diabetes. Today, he is there for his second blood glucose curve-he is there all day, they test his blood every 2 hours to be sure he is getting the correct dose. I asked if they could give his rabies shot. The shot is $30.....but they want me to pay $62 more for an exam that goes along with the shot. No way. I paid for the well dog check 4 weeks ago when I initially brought him in, but they didnt want to do the shots. Now they want me to pay it again. The company who owns this vet is money hungry. The cost for his teeth have tripled. I've read other reviews where folks are saying the money is the main issue with this place. I'll pick my boy up after his glucose test today and never go back. read more

This place is awesome! The staff are so nice, friendly and accommodating. My dog got hit by a porcupine and I called them as soon as they opened. I brought him right over and they took great care of him. They gave me an estimate and not only was it reasonable, but when I came back to pay, the bill was under the original estimate! Gotta love that! They only take visa, MasterCard and discover, cash and checks. No billing option. read more

We started bringing our dog Max to Hudson Animal Hospital when we first got him and I never really got a "warm and fuzzy" feel with them. Most of the staff is a little rude and they definitely do not go out of their way. Since we would normally only have to go once a year for shots and they were close to home we stayed with them. About 5 years ago my dog got what we thought was a urinary tract infection and we brought him in to find that he had bladder stones, which required immediate/emergency surgery at a cost of $3,500.00. They pushed us to find out what kind of "stones" they were and wanted us to spend hundreds of additional dollars, which we chose not to do. After the surgery, we were told that he needed to be on a special diet, which was Science Hill SD (prescription). The food was like playdough and Max often refused to eat it. Sometimes he would leave the food for a day and would not eat at all. He constantly got "hotspots" which he gnawed at giving him bare spots, especially on his legs. He would continually get bladder infections and would spit up a lot. Every time we took him to HAH and relayed our concerns about the food they told us to just keep giving it to him and he would eventually eat. They finally switched his food at our insistence to a food comparable to Alpo and Max still wood eat inconsistently. One time I tried to buy the food at a Petco and asked for a prescription, which they refused to fax and they refused again when I asked them to fax a prescription for Heartworm so that I could by it cheaper online. We had to drive there to get the prescription. This went on for a couple of years and one day my husband went into America's Pets in Hudson and was chatting with one of the girls that worked there and he told her what was going on with Max. On her own initiative, she did a lot of research and suggested we try a grain free diet. We tried Dave's grain free food and use a PH Powder in his food, as well as Apple Cider vinegar in his water. Since we switched his food and have kept him grain free he has not had one hot spot or a urinary tract infection and never throws up. Fast forward a year later and Max , being a playful small breed was running around and started limping. He was holding his leg up and would yelp every now and then. We brought him back to HAH and they determined he had what amount to an ACL injury, again suggesting a $3,000.00 surgery that may or may not work. This time we did research ourselves and thought it would be better to try a custom made brace to see if that would help. We found a company that custom made the braces but needed a cast mold of his leg. They would send a mold kit but we would need to take him to the Vet to have it done. We thought great. Contact HAH and once again they said they would not do it. Had enough of them! Took Max to Daniel Webster Animal Hospital and met Dr. Tucker. What a world of difference when you can go to a place that listens and is open to out of the box suggestions. They also were willing to try more holistic approaches and did not disagree with what we had wanted to try. They made a mold of his leg and we ordered the brace. I have to say we used the brace a only a few hours each day because he really did not like it. They did determine that he had some arthritis too. We also started giving him glucosamine supplements and over time his leg just got better to the point he runs all the time and hasn't even limped in over a year. So why am I posting this now? We brought Max to be groomed this weekend to Petco and unfortunately, they have a large turnaround. We bring him there all the time and never have a problem but they had a new person who called us and said they could not groom him because of his incision area being red. Now this is the incision that resulted from the surgery 5 years ago at HAH. They had to reroute his urethra and create an opening for him to pee because they did not want him to get stones and block his bladder again. He licks the area occasional as every dog does and sometimes it looks red, but he has never had a problem. My husband called HAH and asked that they fax something to Petco stating that he had surgery and this was a result of the surgery. They refused stating that we no longer had a relationship with them. My husband reminded them we paid $3,500 for the surgery and they had the records pertaining to the surgery. They refused and said we would need to bring Max in. My husband hung up on them. I wouldn't bring any animal to them. They only care about the money that they can get from you, are not willing to listen to your concerns and are just plain rude. Max is 100% healthier and would probably be in poor health if we kept him on the food they insisted he be on (for a little kickback from Science Hill, I'm sure). We also would have spent thousands unnecessarily on surgery for his leg, which has healed itself. read more

my pet passed away feb 10th at my home, and I had no where to bring her...Hudson family hospital was open and took amazing care of me ..starting from the phone call to when I walked in the door to the amazing card for my loss! After many months of decline due to her age and cancer, we needed to make the difficult decision to have our Zoey euthanized. I have been going here with my dog for less than a year and I am so impressed with the staff and doctors. They are knowledgeable, caring and empathetic. Average vet - not great, not bad. They are pretty responsive on email. We went there for about 2 years before having to put our pet down. They weren't very concerned or compassionate in the final couple of weeks with our pet or when we finally put her down. Not great at follow up or calling when they say they will. Some of their charges are also VERY expensive. Many of the items they prescribe and sell directly are 5-10 times more expensive then you can find online or elsewhere. read more

I'm perplexed by some of the reviews because we have been bringing our cats here for 4 years now and no one has ever been anything but pleasant. If I am being completely honest, we click best with Dr. Goldstein as far as the veterinarians go mainly because she seems to understand how we communicate and what we are willing to do with our pets' care. I am against multiple vax updates for indoor cats past the kitten stage, aside from rabies (required by law to be on record), and no one has ever argued or tried to change our stance on this. They explained all of the cats' diagnostics and we never waited more than 2 days for test results. The support staff has always been kind and helpful, and very supportive through two go-rounds with elderly cat care and end of life. All vet care is expensive in my experience - think about how they need to be trained to deal with multiple species - and the equipment and sending labs out for testing costs money. Right now my only "eh" thing is the PetDesk app they are using; I don't think it always updates properly. read more

Absolutely horrible. I don't know what kind of place they are running there but if I take my shiba inu there for a nail trim and the tech cut off the whole nail, she comes out to say my dog being a Shiba inu squirming is the reason it happened. And to keep an eye on it, the doctor said it was fine. To make it worse I have been taking her there for 8 years. It isnt the dogs fault it the techs fault. I am never going there again. They also misdiagnosed an ear infection, and an allergy. I'm partly to blame, because I gave them more than one chance, but get it together. I am never going back. read more

I've been taking my dog to visit Hudson Animal Hospital ever since I've moved to NH. Recently, my dog has been peeing blood and clots so we've visited Dr. Goldstein. I had a blood panel done as well as a culture for his urine. She did not call me a week later as promised, and with his health declining I called them. She suggested that I come in for an ultrasound since he was was almost anemic enough to require a blood transfusion. I went to the office that same day, but she completed a second prostate exam, a blood anemia panel, and told me they don't have the equipment to do ultrasounds there. Maybe it was miscommunication, but I truly feel I was duped. Then she recommends me to go to either a hospital in Woburn or Manchester for the ultrasound, then gave me a quote of $600+ and $750 respectively. After already spending $700+, I asked Dr. Goldstein if they're the only locations doing ultrasounds, and she said yes. On the way home in prepping to take my dog to one of the locations, my mother in law suggested another emergency vet hospital in Manchester, I called, and it was $290. After this experience, Dr. Goldstein has lost all credibility for me. I will NOT go back. My dog is better now, he was prescribed meds by the location in Manchester, the doctor and facility is wonderful. read more
