I absolutely love it here and so do our fur babies. We started bringing both of our dogs here for grooming around the holidays last year and I'm so glad we did. The team here knows what they're doing! Brought our Bichon in to be groomed last month with some staining on her fur from licking and the staff recommended a line of dog food to help and it worked! When I returned to get more food they were out of that flavor so I randomly picked another flavor and when I got to the counter, I was asked what we bought before and why. Seriously, who does that and what pet store cares? I was told not to buy that flavor and why. I was then told what flavors to stick with to help my dog and her symptoms. Greatly appreciated! Kyli, the groomer, is such an amazing person! Along with grooming she was able to answer the many questions I had about my dogs, even things like how to help with my dogs having a reaction to something, or which bones were good to give to my dogs and why I should stay away from certain ones. She is extremely knowledgeable and my dogs love going to see her. Would recommend this grooming place to everyone! America's Pets has the best selection i've seen in the area of holistic/grain-free cat food. Prices are about the same as those at other, larger pet stores, or only slightly higher. The staff is great, very friendly and willing to help and know their stuff. Would like to see more of a selection of cat litter, toys, and accessories, but they really have no place to put that unless they have the dogs give up some of "their" space. However, there is a nice selection of cat furniture that seems better made than what i've seen in other stores. i actually like that they're closed on Sundays, giving their staff at least one day off each week. read more

I have used America's Pets for my pet needs for many years. I do think the people are friendly and they have quality products. I was at the store recently and I was upset by their lack of employees wearing masks. I was there in the evening and their were four young ladies working and none used masks. I asked one of them and she said the owner did not make it mandatory. They didn't make any real effort to wear a mask when they came close to me or when I checked out. All store customers that I saw were wearing masks. I called the store the next day and spoke to the manager. She said they have curb side pick up. I did point out it would be difficult to determine sometimes by conversation without being able to review the ingredients or shop based on verbal descriptions. The store does not have an online catalog. I have decided to not go back. Everyone will need to determine for themselves. read more

I love this place-not only because they are one of the few stores in the Hudson/Nashua area that actually have healthy, non filler dog food, but the staff are always extremely pleasant. It's a small buisness, selling quality animal food, and seemingly loving every minute of it. While visiting my mom who happens to live in the area, she and I decided to stop by American Pet to purchase pet food for my mom's dog and cat. Over the years, I have been buying by mom's pet food from Amazon.com (free shipping and tax free!) and having it shipped directly to her home. Here is my two-cents after my visit: Pros: The store is clean, well stocked, has all of the healthy brands that you would want to free your dog or cat. The sales staff was very friendly and helpful. Considering the store is independently owned and operated, the prices are reasonable. Cons: The store owner was disrespectful, arrogant and simply had no manners when it came to interacting with her customer. I guess she didn't like the fact that our dog is on medications due to a very serious illness which she nearly died. Judging by the conversation with the owner, she's into holistic care and not prescribed medications. Overall: I really would hate to stop shopping there because the sales people are such nice people, but I have a hard time giving my money to an owner that is so rude. In the future... I will buy my Blue Buffalo brand pet food at Amazon.com (free Shipping and Tax-Free!) I will give this store three stars because of the employees. They should not be punished for the actions of their boss. If it was solely based on my experience with the owner, I would have awarded this store one star. read more

Poor customer service. I'm on the product buying plan for Canadea dog food and when it was time for my free bag I got a whole lot of attitude and sarcasm from the owner. If you don't want to participate then don't offer it. We shouldn't have to feel guilty about a free bag of dog food. I bought my dog Lupine harness and leash, guaranteed for life by Lupine. My dog chewed through the leash. When I went to exchange it I was told Lupine prefers the customer mail the product back directly. Well, when I went to the Lupine web site it specifically gives instructions for 2 easy steps to return the product. 1. Go back to the store you purchased it or mail it back. Clearly Americas Pets aren't interested in honoring any product offers they sell. Poor customer service. I will go elsewhere for my pets needs. read more

If you're looking for a dog groomer who doesn't want to exert much effort, then you've come to the right place. I have a small 2.5 lb. dog who should be a breeze to groom. Instead of trying to work on her, the groomer insisted on shaving off her small coat of fur. Winter is approaching and she obviously could care less about what would be best for my dog's comfort. She seemed less than helpful and very snippy and curt, implying that I know little about dog grooming. If you want to be made to feel unimportant, then I would recommend her. When I first met her, she was grooming a larger dog while complaining vociferously about the task. Surely this could not be a pleasant experience for any pet or pet owner. read more
