It's a big place and being so spread out I didn't know what to do first or better yet if I drove to far in one direction would I miss something even cooler on the other side of the Vally. After only a few days, I experienced so much; dining and drinking where soon to be colonial leaders and legends once did, siping hard ciders by a camp fire in the orchard where the cider was pressed, even a very formal Michelin star meal in a town renowned for its dirty Hippies (Woodstock) where we also learned the concert DIDN'T take place. The time I spent in the Hudson Vally and curated by Dana left me wanting to buy cabin and set up shop. I feel like there's more to explore but my very short trip was filled with places and things that would have never occurred to me alone. I really can't wait to get back and now wish all the places I travel had someone like Dana to show all the treasures they have.

Not wanting to gather in the city or be around a lot of people, we shuffled off to the Hudson Valley and it was SUCH a welcome treat :) Hud-Val Concierge turned all of our desires into reality by planning an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to our vacation likes/dislikes. We safely (concierge was AMAZING with COVID protocol and protection) explored New Paltz, Kingston, Woodstock, and Rhinebeck during the winter and CAN NOT WAIT to come back during warmer months. Our main interests of NYC caliber food, hiking, antique shopping, and distillery/brewery tours were met with such precision and thoughtfulness. We loved ALL the restaurant recs (from low key breakfast burrito spots to Manhattan-chef'd fine dining), the outdoor bar atmospheres, the historic town and classic home strolls, and the wilderness exploration. Ate a total of 11 meals there and enjoyed the food. The classes were great and I appreciated that all were an easy walk from my room. Beautiful area and wish I had more time to walk around the area, but spent all my time in class or playing guitar with friends. I'll planning to go back in 2025 and bring my wife with me this time.

And the wedding was fantastic. We lucked out with clear skies. It's a great place to have a more inclusive wedding with all ages. There must have been around 30 kids at the wedding we attended.

Well well, Norrie State Park was the first discovery for me when I was on a field trip during my…read morehigh school career when we visited the Norrie Point Environmental Center. This review is going toward the hiking me and my friend experienced, and it was a good one. We parked at the closet entrance, which is on the left. We took the blue trail which is 4.59 miles to exist (making it the longest trail). Some of the markers along the way are not clearly marked as we ended up going the wrong way, making it confusing. One of the blue markers on a tree was facing at the wrong angle. We then figured it out later on thankfully, as we saw the marker up ahead. With me being good with maps and getting around, we ended up going off the path onto the main road to the Hudson River close up. There are a couple of spaces for parking. We got back on the blue trail as it did a big loop and got on the red trail for a bit, until reaching the main road and followed that to the parking lot where we parked. There are multiple trails along the way to take in, as the white trail, according to the map follows the river, which looks appealing. That will be for another visit. To keep life simple, there should be more maps provided along with updated signage for trail colors, which will then bring up my rating.

If you are lucky enough to get an assigned campsite away from the busy road, it is a HALF MILE walk to the only showers in the ENTIRE campground. They have nearly 200 campsites and ONE set of showers. 2. The speed bumps are beyond ridiculous. Two humpers and high as Bob Marley. 3. If you call the office for help (our electrical post was out) they record you without your knowledge. The Ugly: 1. The campground lost power on my electrical post and tried to blame ME for it. I own a Bulldog surge protector, yeah, so it wasn't me. How it was handled was unbelievable. I have never been treated so rudely. A simple apology would have gone a long way.

It provided a detailed and hands on explanation of their entire process and the history of the property. It was truly exceptional! Their distilled spirits are excellent. I'm a whiskey fan and their product does not disappoint! While I'm not a huge gin drinker, their gin is incredibly unique and provides a complex tasting experience! Their vodka has a unique creamy texture on the tongue and was also excellent! The final tasting was performed in a beautiful private room where they rent out liquor lockers to frequent visitors! I only wish I lived closer so I could be a regular visitor!

The farm market didn't hold back on the samples, great cheese, meats, spirits, and lots of local info. Local businesses seemed genuinely happy to have us. Tips: Pay attention to forecast! This is rain or shine and 90% outdoors. We had sun, snow, clouds and wind. Dress appropriately. Don't assume the schedule will hold true. The pace is set by the group members. If some lag, the time will run on. (Not that that's a bad thing....we enjoyed our pace.) Overall a great time. If your are nearby or planning to visit, I would put it on the to do list. Hope it expands to other towns!

What a great way to get to know towns in the Hudson Valley. Our tour was in Rhinebeck and we…read more started at the Farm Market where we sampled an assortment of local cheeses, sausage, pickles, spirits and more. Our walk through Rhinebeck included sampling the best pizza I ever had, gourmet olive oils, balsamic vinegars and sea salts, breads, beers, and chocolates. We also had a chance to go into some of the unique shops Rhinebeck has to offer. Rhinebeck is a charming town and our tour guide enhanced the experience by filling us in on some of the local history. The shop owners were glad to see us and bent over backwards to welcome us. Make sure to bring a bag or backpack of some sort in case you want to purchase some of the great food you sample. We walked, ate and drank our way through Rhinebeck. It is a wonderful way to spend a day and I look forward to our next tour in another town but I also look forward to going back to Rhinebeck since it has so much to offer.
