Mike called me in advance to talk about what kind of day we wanted to have, what we like to drink and if we had any special ideas in mind. He had a great working knowledge of: which breweries had the best views; who had what kinds of products; what sort of food was served where; who had live music or special events and so on! He seemed happy to accommodate any requests we had in designing the tour, but was equally capable of crafting a great day with no help from me. It was nice to feel like I could be as much or as little a part of those choices as I wanted and know it would still be a great day. Our tour was also with Mike - who was on time, communicative, friendly, a good driver and an overall great guide. We had a wonderful day full of fantastic beer, some tasty cider, great food and good music. I would absolutely use Hudson Valley Beer Tours again in the future!

Very professional, listened to what we wanted, then took us to three wineries that were fantastic. Each winery had its own unique character and the wines were spot on, as well the spirits in the last one we went to. Donovan's van was very clean, well air conditioned, and had all the amenities needed to go from one winery to the next. He's very knowledgeable of the area, well prepared, and an all around fun and great guy. He picked us up at our hotel at Marriott Courtyard Poughkeepsie and after the tour dropped us off at the Beacon Train station it really worked out very well. Donovan set up each reservation so I had to do nothing but, book my trip with him and when he arrived he even had champagne and bottled water for us! At each stop Donovan made sure that we were treated like royalty. He didn't just drop us off, he got out with us and set us all up comfortably at each winery even going out of his way to get ice for our wine and helping us choose the best reviewed wines at each stop. Then Donovan even took pictures of our group at each stop and then sent them all to me to make sure I had memories of our trip. Donovan's vehicle was clean and well taken care of. All 9 of us fit comfortably with room for a few more. He was so hospitable and so much fun to hang out with on our drive to each stop. He played the music we liked and kept us laughing the entire time. I can't say enough about Donovan. I would definitely recommend him 100%.

Geoff ended up running our tour and was so nice and patient. We are a bit, um, loud sometimes but Geoff made sure to get the best angles with every group picture and even picked up our untimely food order so we wouldn't miss the last tasting. He was also extremely knowledgeable about local wine! **THE EXPERIENCE** It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. I highly recommend taking this trip in October, as the foliage was breathtaking. Milea Vineyard, our first stop, felt like a mansion, and the tasting room was sunlit and gorgeous. Clinton Vineyards was more of a country farmhouse, and our group had a private tasting with the owner, Phyllis, who is a super interesting woman. This limo service actually deserves a negative rating!!!…read more I had contracted with them to provide limo service for my son's wedding at West Point, NY and paid a deposit of $400 in March 2008 for the wedding, which took place on January 17, 2009. The service was recommended by friends and they actually took the time to inspect the vehicles to make sure they were okay. On the day of the wedding the first limo arrived at the hotel to transport the saber bearers and groom to the Cadet Chapel at West Point. Upon arriving at the main gate it was discovered that the driver did not have photo ID, so the limo was stopped. Bear in mind that a wedding at West Point is a timely affair and they do not allow you to start late or extend the services. It is also a Federal installation - a fact that seemed to be lost to the limo service. I was still at the hotel and instructed the other limo driver to load up the groomsmen, my wife and I only to discover that he too did not have photo ID! We commandeered a Ford Explorer to transport us to the chapel. At this point, the anxiety level - already at a high point - peaked at the hotel. It was no secret that the wedding was at West Point and that photo ID was required - not to mention the fact that both drivers were operating vehicles without their drivers license - a fact that seemed to have little meaning to them. I'm sure the local or State Police would not be impressed with the fact that both drivers "left their wallets at home". The first limo driver was issued a federal citation which, unfortunately, will probably be thrown out after valid ID is presented. Luckily, we had a qualified (and licensed) limo driver handy ( a wedding guest, no less) and he literally jumped in the limo (telling the driver to get out) and transported people to the chapel on time. The limo driver actually was forced to stand at the gate while someone brought him proper ID. My son ended up, standing at the gate (in extremely cold conditions) directing traffic until someone forced him to get in a vehicle and go the the chapel. The MPs were very apologetic but he just told them they were doing their job. I gave the company a check for half of the balance due (before the reception started) in order to ensure that they would pick up the bride and groom after the reception and take them to their hotel. On the way to the hotel the bride became ill and used a plastic bag so as not to soil the limo. The limo driver had the nerve to leave the bag on the front porch of the B&B to be discovered by my son the next morning. Obviously professionalism is not part of their service agreement. I called them today to inform them that a stop payment had been initiated and that, if possible, I would also like to receive my deposit as well. The owner had the nerve to tell me he was upset that I was not paying him since he felt that they had upheld their part of the contract and picked up and delivered on time. Bottom line, there are numerous limousine services in the area so don't bother to use Hudson Valley Limousine.

The farm market didn't hold back on the samples, great cheese, meats, spirits, and lots of local info. Local businesses seemed genuinely happy to have us. Tips: Pay attention to forecast! This is rain or shine and 90% outdoors. We had sun, snow, clouds and wind. Dress appropriately. Don't assume the schedule will hold true. The pace is set by the group members. If some lag, the time will run on. (Not that that's a bad thing....we enjoyed our pace.) Overall a great time. If your are nearby or planning to visit, I would put it on the to do list. Hope it expands to other towns!

What a great way to get to know towns in the Hudson Valley. Our tour was in Rhinebeck and we…read more started at the Farm Market where we sampled an assortment of local cheeses, sausage, pickles, spirits and more. Our walk through Rhinebeck included sampling the best pizza I ever had, gourmet olive oils, balsamic vinegars and sea salts, breads, beers, and chocolates. We also had a chance to go into some of the unique shops Rhinebeck has to offer. Rhinebeck is a charming town and our tour guide enhanced the experience by filling us in on some of the local history. The shop owners were glad to see us and bent over backwards to welcome us. Make sure to bring a bag or backpack of some sort in case you want to purchase some of the great food you sample. We walked, ate and drank our way through Rhinebeck. It is a wonderful way to spend a day and I look forward to our next tour in another town but I also look forward to going back to Rhinebeck since it has so much to offer.
