I needed a solid black laser printer to replace my old beast that had grown buggy and outdated after 15+ years. The printer needed to be able to accept a few special paper modes. What I was seeing online for the prosumer models just wasn't cutting it, so I reached out to Kevin. He researched and got back very quickly with a e-brochure about the perfect little laser printer for me. It was a brand not seen in the big box stores, and came a surprisingly affordable price. He got it in the first shot. I'm glad I hadn't hesitated, since I had been worried he wouldn't be available to assist such a small customer. He treated me like I'm just as important as any big client! I decided my budget did not allow to opt to have the replacement toner cartridge here on hold, and am sitting with the original cartridge for now (but I only do a small amount of printing). I used to buy all of my business' furniture and supplies at Office Depot in Enfield CT. Not…read moreanymore. I bought a clock for my office and found out it doesn't keep time. I tried to exchange it for one that works but the manager said no because I didn't have the receipt. I am an "Office Depot Rewards" member, so I asked him if he could please look up the purchase on the computer. The manager said he can't do that. Then he walked away. Heck of a way to treat a customer who spent over $14,000 there in 2011. The clock was only a $20 dollar item so I was a bit surprised at his unwillingness to work with me. Normally my policy is to do business with brick and morter establishments but apparently Office Depot is in no way hurting for business. So, since then I have been saving a ton of money buying my office supplies at Amazon.com. I have a "Prime Membership" now so I get free 2 day shipping on top of everything else being cheaper. Thank you indifferent manager at Office Depot in Enfield CT. Since then I found another great online webstore called "OfficeDiscountItems.com" and now I am saving even more!

Gone are the days when employees seemed to know what they are selling, so don't have any questions. And, don't go in the middle of a time crunch because the wait is long for everything. But, as bad as service often is, I can't be mad at the employees. I've never walked in and it seemed like people weren't trying to work. Sometimes it seems like they are all trying to do multiple tasks. Extend grace.
