A certain Yelper you might know only had tshirts and a hoodie so he did not spend a lot of time outside. A quick run to the (heated!) rest room and then back into the van. The restrooms are clean and there are vending machines. Getting back onto the highway was okay. They have a long acceleration ramp which is helpful as there is some incline here. There is also a corresponding rest area on the other side of the highway for westbound traffic. This is a beautiful part of the country and the highway parallels the Saint Regis River as well as the Northern Pacific Trail. If it's not cold, spend some time enjoying the scenery. Housekeeping was only available between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Left management a note at check out and asked to be called and never received follow up. Beyond that, the place desperately needs a deep cleaning--the smell was rancid and overwhelming from the moment we walked in. The carpets were filthy, worn out, and bare in multiple spots, adding to the feeling of neglect throughout the property. And if that doesn't concern you enough, the regular police laps around the block certainly add to the atmosphere. If earning a reputation as the worst hotel in Post Falls was the goal, mission accomplished. This experience also made me seriously question Expedia's vetting standards--especially with a property like this on their platform.

To be fair, I did not experience any of the unsavory activities. In fact, it was a very quiet stay. When I first walked in, it was about 11:00 in the morning. No one was at the front desk. I rang the button which basically just had the phone go off at the front desk. So I was standing there for easily 20 minutes waiting for someone to get there. When he finally showed up, he said they didn't do early check-ins, and asked me to come back at 2:00. Guy working in the hallway since I had nothing else to do while I was waiting and saw that he had finished up a couple rooms. But the guy at the front desk insisted so I went and ran a couple errands beforehand When I did come back at 2:00 I was able to get into my room, and the room was made, and was pretty clean. Clean. The bathroom was pretty old and dated and looked like it needed a good refurbishing. And there was somebody else's used soap sitting on the ledge of the bathroom. I pulled down the covers on the bed and the bed was in fact clean and fresh. That was a bonus. Overall the room just looked very dated and well, just maintained. I was going to give this three stars as it was fairly perfunctory, and was a place to lay my head for the night. I heard my door open. No knock. No saying who it was just opening the door. I went to the door and it was the guy from the front counter talking to me and a broken Russian accent asking me if someone had cleaned my room. I said yes. You were just in here this afternoon. when I checked in. He mumbled something about being sorry and left. That really did not make me feel very safe, and the fact that I could not lock my front door, the only thing that worked was the door stop at the top, that kept him from coming all the way in the room. This alone took an average room down to substandard. There are a lot of things I can tolerate but an invasion of privacy is one thing I cannot live with. I would suggest only staying here if you were absolutely in desperate need, and to top it all off it's not cheap. I was able to find it online through a third party vendor for $145. Bottom line? I value safety and cleanliness. The room was indeed clean, with the exception of the other person's soap in the bathroom, but more importantly I expect to feel safe in a room that I am paying that much money for. For. Don't think I will ever stay at this quality inn ever again. I will gladly pay more money to feel safe.

And they canceled my reservation "for free" without even asking me and claiming it's not their fault! We're evacuated from fire area in Spokane and have nowhere to go. Horrible horrible！They don't even know why they don't accept cats. The manager refused to solve problems or even come out to the front desk and talk to us.

We were at this Hampton Inn for seven nights, probably the longest we've stayed anywhere at a hotel…read morein the US. Everybody was really nice and friendly especially the girls at the front desk, Alyssa, who took care of the breakfast area. The room was large and comfortable. It had hooks to hang up jackets or purses. It didn't have a makeup mirror, but I was OK. We don't usually have breakfast at the hotels we stayed at. We did one day and it was OK, the coffee was pretty good. I would've worked out a little bit, but they didn't have any 3 pound weights. And some of the things I do, 5 pounds are just too heavy. I'm sure we'll be back again as my daughter lives in Coeur d'Alene. Also was centrally located you could walk across the street to the movies which we did, nice restaurants a few little shops. Plus, we walked down to the Spokane River so a good place to stay.

Personally, I would prefer to go into town and get some better quality breakfast and coffee, however, that is just me. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. My only gripe was listening to a baby scream in the early hours of the morning and the parents being LAF without a care in the world for anyone else. I can't ding the hotel for that, however, it did sour the experience. For what it is, I feel the cost is high, however, I fully realize it's peak season in the area so it is what it is. The location is convenient though and you can walk to restaurants, movie theater right across the street, however, it literally is just a 5 min drive into the main town and to the lake. Plenty of parking though if you get back later at night you may have some trouble finding a spot if the hotel is busy.
