Wasn't too impressed, had a smell as if the room had quickly been made up from previous guests. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the dogs barking even from another floor of the hotel. First, make sure the windows are actually secure and not just sitting in the sill with broken frames. The window in our room provided virtually no sense of safety or security, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. Beyond that, the place desperately needs a deep cleaning--the smell was rancid and overwhelming from the moment we walked in. The carpets were filthy, worn out, and bare in multiple spots, adding to the feeling of neglect throughout the property. And if that doesn't concern you enough, the regular police laps around the block certainly add to the atmosphere. If earning a reputation as the worst hotel in Post Falls was the goal, mission accomplished. This experience also made me seriously question Expedia's vetting standards--especially with a property like this on their platform. read more

Not a very good experience. Everything is dated and poorly maintained. Difficulty checking in and I was not sure what the front desk was speaking to, certainly not very friendly. At check in not one of the two people said welcome or thank you. Floors are not very clean in the room, long black hairs in tub and one on the bed. The window was bent and didn't fully close. If you stay make sure you check the windows (our screen was actually ripped), fire alarm and smoke detectors. The motel was really dated and the carpets were filthy throughout the halls, stairs and our room. My sister booked and did not check the reviews, if I had seen them I would not have stayed. Big red flag when we checked in that on a night in the summer only three other cars in the motel. Certainly not sure how this place is a Red Lion/Sonesta hotel. We had a great stay. I look at the other reviews and it's hard to believe. It appears that they are upgrading the hotel as the lobby looks brand new, a lot of the floor coverings look brand new. We ate at the restaurant and it was very, very good. I would eat there again. They have an indoor pool, which was a good temperature. Our room opened up to a grassy area where our dogs could walk around. And amazing as it seems there was no pet fee -so many of the hotels nowadays are just gauging with the pet fee. Not a bad little hotel. It was clean, fresh linens. The tub was huge and deep and clean. There was water damage/mold in one of the bathroom ceilings. We had a king bedroom with joining room with pull out couch. The patio was nice too. We woke up to get breakfast and there was no free breakfast. It was an $11 buffet, but the clerk gave us vouchers, I don't know why. Maybe she felt sorry for us for having a lot of kids lol. read more

On Saturday I checked my 80 year old father to the hotel. They never gave him new towels for the second night though prepayment was made for both. Today at 7am when he attempted to check out they informed him that he couldn't get a receipt or discharge orders because their system was down. Typically we enjoy staying at Red Lion's. Won't ever stay at this particular hotel again. Blown out mattress, caved to the sides, almost fell out of bed. During my sleep felt like I was getting bit....sure enough bug bites on my ankles. Room smelled musky and moldy. Sink didn't drain. Bathroom was very dirty. Hair everywhere. The room was sprayed so heavily with chemicals that we choked the entire time and after 15 min trying to air it by opening the window, we went downstairs n asked for our money back. Took 30 minutes and the Indian manager yelling at us calling us liars and saying he doesn't use chemicals... While the manager was smoking a cigarette. Surprised by the response and time to apparently take this to the public to have some sort of proper acknowledgment from the Red Lion Inn & Suites Post Falls. We stayed here numerous of times over the past few weeks, all of which have had some less than pleasurable experiences (high employees (one even followed me to my room!) long brown hair between the pillows, dirty cat litter smell in the hallways, our doordashed food stolen from in front of our door which doordash will not refund due to the photo of it being dropped off in front of our door) This most recent one tops all and management seems to not be wanting to find a resolution or even a refund of our stay, so I guess it's time to attempt some other channels to acquire a satisfactory resolution. We had a room booked for 12/24-12/25. We got significantly detoured due to ice, snow & hwy closures. We didn't end up making it to the hotel until about 5:45AM on 12/25 after driving since 6pm the night prior. Figured we would still stop, rest for the few hours we still had the reservation for, shower and get back on the road. Got settled into bed, only to find that the sheets had not been changed, and there was blood on the sheets & comforter assumably from the guests prior. We went to the front desk to inform them, where the lady offered to grab me a fresh set of sheets for me to change myself. I declined as no guest should have to change their own sheets due to the lack of care from cleaning staff. She got us into another room down the hall, the sheets had clearly also not been changed between guests as there was hair under the comforter in the 2nd room of the night and the other mattress didn't even have the sheet all the way on. About 6:15AM 12/25 We proceeded to collect our belongings and dangerously continue on with our drive. I was told that I would have a call from a manager on 12/25 for a refund. No call. No communication from the hotel whatsoever. We are now at 12/29 and still have received NOTHING. The hotel will not return phone calls, are lying to corperate saying that they have contacted me. They are refusing to give a refund for our hazardous bed conditions and MAYBE 30 minute "stay." At this point I've exhausted all avenues in getting in touch with the hotel(their phone goes to an automated system after 2 rings and says to try again later), the GM, or anyone higher than the call center, who isn't able to help at all. The bank will not dispute the charge because it was initiated by myself and was not fraud. read more

EVERYONE BE WARNED.. DO NOT RELY ON THIS HOTEL TO FUFIL YOUR RESERVATION! This is only my second review on Yelp but I had to write one to warn people about this place. Reservations mean nothing for this hotel. We called the hotel as a courtesy that we would be arriving later that night and not to mark us as a no show. No one answered so we left a message. Upon our arrival, the incompetent front desk agent told us that we had cancelled due to my girlfriend's dad having a heart attack. Obviously we would not show up if this is the case so we knew she was full of bullshit. She then proceeded to lie about a competitor having an open room for a similar price. I was in shock at how little she cared and the fact she had one room left she was "holding" for a certain agency IN CASE they walked in even though it was 11:30pm. It was shocking to me that her and the manager she called was not embarrassed for giving away a reservation. Now looking at the other reviews about this hotel I am relieved we didn't stay there. read more

If I could give this hotel a negative I would. My elderly parents booked a room at this hotel this past weekend. They travelled to celebrate their great grandsons 1st birthday. It is absolutely appalling to me that they see what looks like dirt on their bed upon check in , wipe it off come back from dinner to more "dirt" upon investigation it was BED BUGS!!! The only thing the front desk had to say was "WE CAN GET YOU CLEAN SHEETS IN THE MORNING" Are you kidding me. MY parents checked out and found a different hotel. All I can say is WOW. We have been traveling all over Washington, Idaho and Oregon the last few days and haven't received very many warm welcomes or stellar service. Upon walking in we spoke to Julia, who was not only polite to my daughter, but the adults as well. I was so pleased with how much she went above and beyond to get us a few extra amenities needed since there were three of us and she did it with a smile. I'm from the south and we love conversation, she took the time to get to know us, where we were from and why we were visiting. That type of personalization is what will keep us coming back when we visit the PNW. I do hope you spoil your A+ front desk because in todays climate they are a hard find, GREAT JOB JULIA! read more

WOW! What a nightmare! Watch your bank statements, if you stay here. Went to Post Falls on a quick weekend trip to support a friend who found out she has stage 4 brain & lung cancer. Booked this motel cause it was 6 mins from the venue and Right off the freeway. I knew since we were going over the pass that we were going to be getting in late so I called about 3pm and let them know we would be in around 11 pm or midnight, after finally picking up the phone and being quite short he said as long as it was before midnight no worries. So about 11:30pm we called again as we were 30mins out and would arrive right at midnight or a few mins later. When we arrived she checked us in and asked for a card for incidentals I verified with her just for incidentals as I did not want any charge to go on that card and reminded her that we had already paid a month previous thru booking.com. Our room was ok, little smelly for a non-smoking. We checked out the 14th and headed back home. On the 15th I got a notice that my card had been charged for the 2 nights. I contacted the manager and he proceeded to lie to me and tell me that booking.com gave him my debit card to charge. Thing is they didn't have the cc he charged, it was a different one, it was the one I gave them for incidentials. He claimed only charged once and contact booking.com. 5 days of back and forth between booking.com and red lion post falls both blaming each other, meanwhile here I am with 2 charges for the same trip. Call the motel 50 times a day either get an answering machine with it's full message and hangs up or just ringing till my provider tells me to give up. Finally got a cell #. Where is customer service, I provided both cc statements with the charge from booking.com and the charge from red lion, the invoice, and everything asked and still here we are 8 days later and still nothing. The actual worst experience I have ever had at a hotel- which says a lot due to me traveling often. When we arrived, we immediately knew we made a mistake. The staff was rude, had their children running around; they were all around unprofessional. We walked into our room and it immediately smelt like a strong nasty smell- the only way any of us could describe it is like pee. There were 0 towels, wash clothes, hand towels, and no hand soap. The pillowcases looked dirty, our window had no screen and had no lock. We were able to bypass this all as we were tired after traveling for 5+ hours and didn't want to deal with it. We asked the front desk if they had a rollaway bed and he said "oh no we are completely booked we don't" I said "okay let us know if any cots become available!" He said "they're here often" I said "so there are some?" And he said.. and I quote "the cops are here all the time, haha" ... to which a woman came around the corner and said "of course we do! They're brand new too". She was nice & brought us what we needed. There were also no comforters, just "throw" blankets. We went to grab dinner, came back, and the owner/manager (an Indian man as others in reviews have stated) came and yelled at us as we were all saying our good nights to each other and said he "doesn't like people hanging out in his waiting room". So rude, but we went to our room and went to sleep. Although we were not there to judge, it seemed that all the staff had lived at their facility. Employees helping customers while still in their pajamas. Oh, and when the complimentary breakfast was available, we were walking back to our room to test a new key (as our key cards had stopped working for a 3rd time), an child came down, went into a very unsanitary (and visible to the public eye) "employees only" room and asked if she "needed to help clean rooms today". The front desk staff also had babies sleeping on their shoulders, lava lamps as decor? And the pastries at the breakfast looked about a week old. People hangout up front outside all day, as if it is literally a smoke spot at their apartment complex. We complained to red lion directly because we truly felt uncomfortable and threatened by the owner. They responded that they are a private owned franchise and they forwarded the complaint to the owner (what we were trying to avoid..). We left for lunch, came back and he was waiting for us in the lobby. We were gone for 2+ hours- he must of checked our room and that's how he knew we were gone?? He abruptly raised his voice stating "if you don't like it here you can leave" which we responded with "we already paid for tonight and he said "I'll refund you, you need to leave". If I could give a 0 star and a huge "LETS SHUT THIS SCARY BUSINESS DOWN" I would. I felt threatened, unsanitary, scared for the children (and of the staff), an overall horrible experience. read more

This shouldn't even be considered a hotel.... literally half the people or staff literally live there, cats in other room windows, children offering help to house maids... young babies with front desk staff.... lava lamps as decor? First of all we are paying to stay in the hotel why am I getting yelled at ? The next morning I felt grossed out and cheated and decided to contact red lion directly due to the fact I felt uncomfortable talking to the front desk staff in person due to many reasons. They emailed us back right away and said they contacted the hotel directly about our concerns.... we left the hotel around 12:00pm and came back at 4pm. We were abruptly confronted by " Abi " about what room we were in . I stated the number and he goes yeah you had complaints and you don't have to stay here if you don't like it you need to leave . I said wel we didn't leave because we were already paying for the second night. He said I'll refund you. So we awkwardly went into our room packed up everything and made sure to " check out" to have proof of the one charge for one night. Which honestly I shouldn't of had to pay for the first night! But we were not going to argue due to the fact we get very unsafe and scared. After talking we had feelings they probably came into our room to even see if we were still there while we were gone. ABSOLUTELY BEWARE. This hotel was just plastered with " red lion" to get people in the door. Lol this is not at all where you want to stay and trust me when I say I will never book a cheap hotel again due to the fact of this fear. I'm going to go above " Abi" in hopes to get this place shut down, trust me. They definitely messed with the wrong kind of people. I was incredibly apprehensive of staying here due to the reviews, but had already booked. After staying here, I was pleased to find that prior reviews were pretty extreme and unfortunate for those particular people. I give 3 stars on sole reason that the pool is very very questionable sanitary-wise and the hot tub is inoperable currently. The only other things were I wasn't able to get a fridge and linens took a little while to get as it seems they are always being washed and are short on them. Otherwise, everything was good.
